January 9, 2018 5.0 Pros The biggest advantage to Shift over multi-inbox solutions is that there's no modification to the native Gmail interface, and there's no clunky panes or buttons that most Chrome extensions tend to tack on. There's a minimal learning curve so once you load your email info you can start using Shift right away. App integrations work well, and notifications from them seem reliable in my use. Shift is way more convenient and responsive than having multiple Chrome tabs and multiple desktop apps open. Cons Some non-Gmail-specific context menu plugins I use with Google Chrome obviously aren't available inside Shift, and the included context menu is fairly basic. It's not that big of an issue though, because any links open quickly with Chrome. I do wish the Advanced version with app integrations was cheaper, but the integrations are quite handy. Pros Love the features and the functionality, but it would be great if the integrations worked with the free version. When I first started using this, I was hoping that it would have the flexibility of the free version but it was totally unusable. Cons Sent with Shift. The fact that the "Sent with Shift" line remains even after I paid a substantial amount of money was really frustrating. Felt like a bit of overmarketing, kind of classless. Pros It integrates many of popular apps and services, many of which I use on a daily basis. Does it very well - works without any crashes or glitches. Pros Shift is such a beautifully simple solution to unite productivity platforms, I'm amazed someone didn't build this sooner. Putting all your task management, productivity, and messaging platforms together in one place is an absolute game-changer. Cons The RAM consumption for something so simple is a little concerning, although the equivalent of having that many tabs open in a web browser (one for each of the tools Shift can handle natively) is probably not any better. It would be better for them to allow all features for a limited amount of time rather than limiting the features themselves. Pros I liked the UI design of the software. it was an easy way for me to stay organized with all the different software I had open. Everything was in one place. Cons Since I used the free trial, I was greatly limited in what I could add. I was only able to add in a few accounts and then any third-party app required me to buy. Therefore, I wasn't able to have the full experience. I wish it were a trial that allowed all features for a certain amount of time. Review Source SB Stacy B. There are times when Shift has a bit of a delay in loading or reacting to my mouse clicks, but overall, I'm very pleased. Pros For someone who manages multiple email accounts and works on multiple apps, Shift was a no-brainer. The convenience of having most everything in one platform is terrific! Cons Shift does not currently support Exchange accounts, so I can't have EVERYTHING supported in Shift. I would also love to see the ability to have another scrolling bar for email accounts & apps on the right side of the platform, as well. I have quite a few! Review Source RH Ryan H. It has cleaned up many windows and icons that I no longer have need for. Pros I quite like how easily that I am able to navigate between various email accounts, messaging applications, financial applications, and other apps, all without leaving the window of the Shift app. I can also open tabs in each application cleanly and reliably. Cons I've been using it for about a week, and so far it has had a tendency to be laggy. Using Shift is as efficient as having dual monitors. I can access what I need quickly to run my business (and my personal email) all in one place. Pros I love that I can load up all of my most-used applications in one place. Switching from email to software I rely on for my practice is seamless. I don't have to peer across screens to access what I need quickly. I love that the new Beta version has introduced tabs. Cons Email is still a bit buggy. Occasionally emails won't send. " January 10, 2018 4.0 Pros I was a bit skeptical at first but became comfortable with Shift quickly. It is very easy to switch between services (mail, calendar, drive, etc) on multiple Google accounts. The ability to also access services like Twitter/Tweetdeck, Feedly and Evernote from within the app is very convenient. Cons There are a limited number of extensions, but new ones are added frequently (I guess that's a con and a pro!) I look forward to seeing more in the future. I like what it can change an icon for each account. Having several accounts made me confuse, so this feature helped me. Cons Sometimes my accounts disappear from my settings suddenly. I work in two email accounts every day and switching back and forth between Chrome users gets annoying. It's great having those accounts, my calendars, and my other work products all in one window. Cons \- It does not come cheap.
