If they could make the platform stable this would be a really useful tool. Unfortunately their customer service isn't great and you're on your own when bugs hit. Pros I love the idea of Shift and how it keeps the many emails and software products all on one neat page. Almost anything you'd need in your workday can be plugged right into Shift and you don't need to switch back and forth between windows. Cons I'm not sure why, but Shift is constantly updating the platform (almost weekly) and each time they do, some kind of problem pops up. It's frustrating to have everything working one day then the next there are bugs that slow you way down. Many times there are multiple extensions with updates that all conflict and leave you very frustrated. Review Source DC Darby C. Cons This software completely slowed down my computer, it was almost impossible to get any tasks done for myself and the same for my team. For a productivity app, all it did was slow everything down by a lot. I messaged the customer service for help multiple times and never received a response. Technical Staff Computer Software Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Shift does it all" April 14, 2019 4.0 Extremely satisfied Pros My main purpose of using Shift is not to unify my apps but to really not have to walk around with a list of login credentials to a whole bunch of services I need to check out multiple times a day. I used to have Discord, Slack, Trello, and Backlog installed on my work machine. I now only have to log in to one application to get to all my services. Cons Paid versions are unjustifiably expensive. The app buffers sometimes, but no major issues. Having all the tools you use in one window -- especially when those tools aren't Office -- would be fab. Cons As I said, I love the idea of it, but it doesn't quite deliver. It's clunky and inconsistent. Some features work sometimes, others not so much. Its a little clunky and slow, to the point where I stop using it and go back to my chrome browser because it runs the apps much smoother. If shift was as smooth as google chrome and always 100% up to date, I would have zero complaints. I hated having 6 browser tabs open to do the same thing - and I didn't like other apps that didn't let me use google's native (and perfect) interface. If you have lots of gmail accounts, this is the best way to go! Plus, no monthly fees. Cons My only complaint is that there is some strange thing when I use Okta as a sign in method to get to one of my gmail accounts. It rarely works. Review Source JH Jessica H. Pros I love that it has everything I need to be logged into in one place instead of going to a million different sites. Cons I do a lot in google docs and email so I wish that google docs was almost like an app on the side bar as opposed to up in the right hand corner. I also wish it didn't sign me out of certain apps, but I'm not sure if thats a feature that is part of Shift or that app in particular. Review Source MS Mike S. Cons ... when doing many activities in parallel, extra clicks start to cost time & overall Shift System slows down some dealing w/ multiple activities at the same time; which is what you would expect. Cons Sometimes websites will need to refresh, they do not stay open. While using this tool, I have easily streamlined my schedule, workflow, and project collaboration. Pros I love the seamless effort in keeping communication and tasks in one place. For example, you can have your email inboxes, calendars, productivity apps and extensions at your fingertips! I like that Shift is clutter free and allows you to add your email accounts, apps, and extensions in one place without having multiple browsers or windows open. Cons Since I work with educational institutions, the email accounts are single sign-on and require multi-factor authentication. Oftentimes, I have to use incognito tabs or different browsers to access these emails. Unfortunately, Shift does not allow SSO email accounts to be added. Review Source KC Kasey C. However, I probably will not renew my subscription due to the many glitches (and I can't justify the price). Pros I love how I have most of my apps all in one place, making it easy for me to flip between them without all of the tabs Cons It is VERY glitchy. Many times I have lost information or pages have crashed. Pros One of many options to help you focus your work across multiple accounts -- other options include Sidekick, Dialed.ai and kasmweb.com. Cons Frustrating to run into yet another poorly executed reskinned Chromium browser with secret extension -- so much potential. Unstable, crashes, resource heavy, and doesn't fully free memory when closed. October 18, 2019 3.0 I realized that having the ability to see everything in one place keeps me more organized. It allows me to work on one client while seeing also being able to address another if needed. Pros I love that I can see all of my emails at one time. I like that I can skype, google chat, and read emails all at once without changing screens or opening additional browsers. Pros I love that I have everything in one place and that they have apps or extensions for most of the tools I use on a daily basis.
