Cons I hate the fact that Shift starts slowing down, whenever there is an update. Shift doesn't feel the need to let the customers know;( Reason for choosing Shift I liked what I saw and used. I like not having a million tabs open on my internet browser. I love being able to shift from what I was looking for in my email account to any given application and switching back without losing my place. Cons Currently having an issue with Shopify app asserting that my Chrome is out of date inside of Shift - even after the update. Doesn't seem to have the same issue when using Chrome as a standalone. Not sure if the problem is within Shift or Shopify. One feature I hope they add is the ability to "group" sets of applications to a company. I have many clients and while I love the labeling feature so I know what I'm looking at, being able to group things together would be amazing! Review Source Response from Shift Technologies Inc. Pros I open Shift and all of my email / calendar accounts are present. I can move through each easily and communicate fluidly with all of my stake-holders. Most of my project management activities are integrated through attachable apps. (Wrike, DigitalOcean, DropBox, Google Suite, Slack, Git, even Facebook, & Amazon.) Cons It has easily become a staple while working. My only recommendation for improvement would be the function to show all calendar events on one calendar in addition to the individuals. Pros integration of most if not all services i need in my tool set. Simple access to different accounts and services. Cons the way it separates my main accounts (gmail and google calendar) from the other accounts, it relegates the other accounts to a lower level. navigating in between those accounts is complicated. not all services provide notifications and badges. having all services so easy at hand end up affecting overall productivity (consider a time-out type feature that would mute/lock out of distraction prone services). October 17, 2019 5.0 Pros I'm a heavy user, and incorporate 3 gmail accounts, 2 Facebook accounts, 2 FB Messenger accounts, Google Hangouts, and Evernote in my Shift experience. I love how easy it is to go back and forth between accounts and apps right in the same window. I also love that all of Google is incorporated in the icons on the top right. Within each account, I have access to Drive, Contacts, Photos, YouTube, Docs, and Sheets (all of which I use on a regular basis). Thank you for putting all of that in the same place!!! I no longer have so many chrome tabs open that i lost focus on my projects, shift allows me to compartmentalize my tasks and focus on one project at a time. Pros I love that all the apps, programs, and windows I would normally have open are now located in one window! I no longer have to have 12 different Chrome tabs open, and I can have Facebook VBussiness as a sidebar, or even MailChimp! Shift has made the lift of a marketer so much easier. I also love that I can have it installed on multiple computers. It is so seamless to go from my work computer to my work laptop. Cons Nothing! With Shift, I can manage all of these accounts with ease AND all from one place. It has done wonders for my productivity and efficiency. It makes me excited to start my workday and it makes working more fun! Pros Not only can you load it up with all of your apps, you can even add multiple accounts for each app. So if you are managing accounts for other people, Shift is perfect for this! Cons Because I am using the Beta version of Shift (which is less stable but allows me to test the latest features), it is a bit glitchy at times. There is definitely room for improvement. This basic organization has saves me time and headaches by always being available within Shift. Pros Shift gives me a dashboard to the emails and apps I need up and ready to go all day long, while leaving my browser windows free and open and uncluttered. Shift is what keeps my organized and moving forward all day long. Cons You may experience problems when downloading large file formats from an email. I've got four "check all of the time" email accounts and switching from Gmail to Gmail, then Outlook, then Google Drive then to Calendar - it was maddening. I am so happy with the place I go for all of it now - Shift. Adding in the fact that I can put my Google Voice controls in there as well - it's such a game changer when it comes to efficiency. Cons The only negative thing I can think of is how often I have to re-login to some of my Gmail accounts while in Shift. It happens less and less and it's once every few days when it does happen. It has made my job (a social media marketer/podcast manager) easier, as well as my team's. Pros I absolutely love this app because you can have all of your email accounts easily in one place, as well as any project management tools (my favorites on here are Trello, Dubsado, and Slack). There are many many apps you can connect to Shift in order to have everything in one convenient place. Cons It seems to draw a lot of memory/CPU on the computer, which can slow things down a bit if using a PC that doesn't have a lot of 'oomph'. Cons I have had to reinstall a couple times due to some conflicts with windows 10. conflicts include getting a white screen when opening my inbox on a few of my accounts, removing and signing back into the account does work either (issue with cached data maybe). The ease of being able to manage inboxes and calendars for both myself as well as others in one app - and not having to set different browsers is a time saver and game changer. Cons Sometimes Shift can do too much. I've taken the less is more approach of just using it for my inbox/calendar management because I haven't broken my bad habits / preference of some of my other programs (i.e. Asana) in an internet browser. Pros I like that it puts all of my most-used apps (Google apps, Evernote, MailChimp, slack) into one dashboard. That makes it simple to switch apps as I work. I also LOVE being able to mute my notifications! This allows me to have my notifications on, but temporarily turn them off when I need to focus. Cons There is sometimes a lag between when I get an email notification and when it appears in my inbox. This is frustrating if it is an email I need to read. A weird bonus is using their constantly updated app section as a discovery platform to find new apps to try out. Cons The only thing is how Google Apps are limited to the top right of the UI. It's prettier. Pros Shift is an app browser and email account "shifter". It most useful fonctionnality is to jump from one web email inbox to an another web email inbox from the same domain. Essentially it's a GUI that allow you to jump from one web app to another without the risk of closing the tab by mistake and having to login again. Cons Lacks integration with Roboform when I visit a web site from one of it's app. I didn't find an option to always open links in email in my default browser. Too much integration with Google apps. They offer a free trial and then make it difficult to cancel. If you're one day outside of the 14 day trial window, they absolutely refuse to give you a refund. I used it for one day and they made me pay for the whole year. Their cancelation policies are predatory. If the Shift.com software was that good, they wouldn't have to rely on such a short trial window to profit off of people who don't need the software. Pros Their logo is pretty. The interface looks good. Their acceptance of credit card payments before trying the product is very good. Cons Predatory Cancelation Policy. The software isn't valuable.
