ManageEngine Endpoint Central

## What is ManageEngine Endpoint Central?

Endpoint Central is a unified endpoint management and security platform built for IT teams managing devices across multiple operating systems and locations. It consolidates the functions needed to handle the full device lifecycle from a single console across Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android, and Chrome OS. Patch deployment is automated across operating systems and 1000+ third-party applications. IT teams define deployment policies, test patches before rollout, schedule updates within approved maintenance windows, and monitor compliance across the device fleet. This reduces manual effort and shortens the time between vulnerability disclosure and remediation. Built-in remote desktop tools allow technicians to connect to endpoints instantly without third-party software. IT staff diagnose issues, transfer files, and resolve problems in real time, supporting faster resolution for distributed and remote workforces.

Overall, my experience with Endpoint Central has been positive. It has become an important part of our day-to-day IT operations and has significantly reduced the amount of time we spend manually managing individual devices. Having remote support, software deployment, patch management, inventory, OS deployment, and other endpoint management tools in one platform is extremely useful. There is definitely a learning curve, and some features can be frustrating when they don't work as expected or when troubleshooting information isn't very clear. However, once you become familiar with the platform, it is a very powerful tool. Despite some occasional issues, the amount of functionality and control it gives our IT team makes it well worth using.

Pros

One of the biggest advantages of Endpoint Central is having so many endpoint management tools available in one place. We use it for software deployment, patch management, remote support, device inventory, OS deployment, and general endpoint management. Being able to remotely troubleshoot devices and quickly see hardware, software, and system information saves a significant amount of time. The cloud-based management is also helpful because we can continue managing devices even when they aren't connected directly to our internal network. Overall, Endpoint Central has allowed us to automate a lot of tasks that would otherwise require manually touching individual computers, which is especially valuable for a small IT team supporting multiple departments and locations.

Cons

Endpoint Central has a very large feature set, but that can also make the interface feel overwhelming at times. Some settings and tools are buried in menus or located in places that aren't immediately intuitive, so there can be a fairly significant learning curve when using more advanced features. We've also experienced occasional reliability issues with remote-control connections, software deployments, and OS deployment. Error messages aren't always very descriptive, which can make troubleshooting more difficult than it needs to be. Some changes or deployments can also take longer to reach endpoints than expected, making it difficult to tell whether something has actually failed or simply hasn't processed yet. Documentation is extensive, but it doesn't always match the current cloud interface or clearly address more unusual problems. Overall, the platform is extremely capable, but some additional polish around navigation, troubleshooting, and consistency would make the experience much better.

Better than our previous patch management software and has enabled a lot of remote installs of software for our company without a lot of programming knowledge needed.

Pros

Ease of patch management and response time from inquiries. If I have a patch related issue chat requests are answered quickly.

Cons

The only thing I can think of is the agent having issues on machines at times and requiring a repair but this is something that happens not so frequently.

I can monitor and manage my computer fleet very easily and efficiently. All functionalities seen from user side like self-service portal are well received.

Pros

Lots of functionality and closs-platform, can be used with any OS. Being able to manage even the one or two mac in our fleet makes the difference.

Cons

Lack of configuration for Mac. If you have more than a few, I think the product is not enough but in our case it's the definitely enough.

We have been using ManageEngine Endpoint Central as our primary endpoint management solution for managing Windows devices across the organization. The platform has significantly simplified software deployment, patch management, remote support, asset tracking, and system configuration tasks. Its centralized management console allows our IT team to efficiently monitor and manage a large number of devices while maintaining security and compliance standards. The patch management and software deployment features have helped us automate routine administrative tasks, reducing manual effort and improving operational efficiency. The remote troubleshooting capabilities enable quick resolution of user issues, which has improved end-user support and reduced downtime. Overall, Endpoint Central has been a reliable and cost-effective solution that meets our endpoint management requirements and continues to add value through regular updates and feature enhancements.

Pros

ManageEngine Endpoint Central provides a comprehensive platform for endpoint management, patch deployment, software distribution, remote troubleshooting, and asset inventory. The centralized console makes it easy to manage a large number of devices efficiently. The patch management feature helps keep systems secure and compliant, while remote control capabilities enable quick resolution of user issues without requiring physical access. The solution offers excellent value for money and significantly reduces administrative effort for IT teams.

Cons

The user interface could be more modern and intuitive in some areas. Certain advanced configurations and reporting options have a learning curve for new administrators. Additionally, some deployments and agent-related troubleshooting may require detailed investigation. However, these are minor concerns compared to the overall functionality and capabilities of the product.

Overall, my experience with Endpoint Central has been very good. It’s easy to use, saves time, and makes managing devices and patches much simpler.

Pros

I like how easy Endpoint Central makes it to manage devices, deploy software, handle patches, and troubleshoot from one place. It offers good value for money, is easy to use, and its patch management, device management, configuration, and device wipe features are really useful. Customer support has also been helpful when needed.

Cons

The main area for improvement would be the user interface, as some features can take time to understand and navigate. A few configurations could also be more straightforward, especially for new users.

Overall, our experience with ManageEngine Endpoint Central has been very positive. The migration was handled professionally, support was quick to resolve any questions, and the platform has already improved how we manage and monitor our endpoints. We'd recommend it to other teams looking for a reliable endpoint management solution.

Pros

The migration process was well-documented and the support team was responsive and knowledgeable throughout. Endpoint Central made it easy to onboard our devices with minimal downtime, and the interface is intuitive enough that our team got up to speed quickly. Patch management and endpoint visibility have been a noticeable improvement over our previous setup.

Cons

Nothing significant to report at this stage — the migration went smoothly and any minor questions we had were addressed quickly by support.

so far I am pleased with on-prem version. Now I am exploring the cloud version , especially the MDM feature for MACOS.

Pros

Easy to use, meet almost every need for endpoint management and also equipping many security enforcing features.

Cons

price quite high and not flexible for different scheme. It's hard to reach support, so far we have to manage the system on our own.

We're quite satisfied with ManageEngine Endpoint Central, what it can offer, with ease of use, with reasonable cost.

Pros

ManageEngine Endpoint Central provides us with helpful features that are easy to use. Web Interface is intuitive and it doesn't not take long to get used to it.

Cons

As some of the configurations are tied to the global Zoho environment, some changes we want to apply onto to Endpoint Central (e.g., 2FA configuration) are applied to other ManageEngine products such as Service Desk Plus.
