### "Exploring ManageEngine Central"

April 30, 2024

5.0

Pros

I like about ManageEndpoint Central, as a new user to this platform, at first it was really hard to get but after exploring it, you will find it easy to control/manage. It is very user friendly.

Cons

I know are still a lot to be improved in this platform, for now I cannot say any cons for now.

### "Endpoint Central, the essential component to your environment. "

December 22, 2023

4.0

It’s worked well and is not overly complex, it’s easy to patch the system itself and does what we expect it to without a large administration cost. So overall I am very happy with it as a product and predict we will be using it for a long time.

Pros

We chose this initially bevause we needed a central management system and we already had a couple of other products from the same vendor. I liked most the familiarity of layout, simplistic management and usability. The primary functions all work well and do what most others do but the ui makes it easier to manage.

Cons

Some of the pop ups don’t look that slick for the end user and some of the prompting and pointers have an element of “written by someone who doesn’t speak my primary language.” This is a small point but from the outside could be relatively easily fixed.

To use Altiris you needed a diploma it was so convoluted. It was subsequently bought out by Broadcom and became even more difficult to manage.

### "Desktop Central - try it! You may wonder how you lived without it before."

May 19, 2022

4.0

Overall, I really enjoy their products. I have used their other offerings and have been pleased with how easy their software is to learn and use. I really like the reporting features, even if they are a bit plain. But, the data in the reports is spot on. It would be nice to have a way to spice up the reporting templates a bit for non-technical management. I've tried other patching products over the years, but I've always recommended Desktop Central to my clients to at least try. Almost all of them end up purchasing Desktop Central!

Pros

Desktop Central is very easy to set up. As long as you follow the requirements for opening ports, you should be able to install and start using the product very quickly. The product can be used for free with up to 25 clients, so you can really "kick the tires" and get a full idea of if this is the product for you. It is reasonably fast, and the learning curve is fairly easy and straightforward. The training videos are not bad and cover most of what I needed to learn to use the product. I've worked with the support team only a few times over the last several years, so that's a bonus for me. Their support was knowledgeable, and was able to solve my issues within one or two email exchanges. They do offer phone support, but this was not an option I prefer to use, so I can't comment much on that. I now use several products from ManageEngine, and it is great how once you use one of their products, you should be comfortable with their other offerings.

Cons

It took me a little while to learn HOW the product works, and what the developers' thought process was at first. Once I got that part, the use of the product really fell into place for me rather quickly. I think the learning curve for this software is much easier than other products, but you do have to at least look over the intro manuals the first couple of times you use the product. I'd love to see the company make more training videos using native North American English speakers. ManageEngine is an Indian company, and while their team absolutely knows their stuff, it can be challenging (at least for me) to work with the Indian speaking and writing style of English.

[PDQ Deploy & Inventory](https://www.capterra.com/p/174535/PDQ-Deploy/)

Reason for choosing ManageEngine Endpoint Central

PDQ is a great product, but seems lacking in tools overall. The UI in PDQ is plain, but efficient. Desktop Central offered more features out of the box, and has better reporting in it's looks. Plus, ManageEngine offers so many more products, and once you learned how to use one of them, you are well on your way to knowing how to use the others. The UI is pretty similar over their product line, which is a big help these days.

Switched from

[PDQ Deploy & Inventory](https://www.capterra.com/p/174535/PDQ-Deploy/)

While I love PDQ products, Desktop Central offers more out of the box. With 1 purchase, I get lots of abilities and features, such as the MDM, more reporting, and easier to read UI, with colors and labels. If PDQ revamps their UI and adds a couple of features to PDQ Inventory and PDQ Deploy, they would make my short list of products.

### "Pleasantly Surprised"

March 17, 2023

4.0

It provides visibility across the network for all devices (EUC and Servers) with the ability to manage them. Being able to roll out patches, config changes and interact with users and their devices from one place is exactly what I was looking for when I was tasked with coming up with a solution. I initially came up with two solutions, but I am happy that this has worked out so well.

Pros

Intuitive layout, finding things is relatively easy and figuring out most things is straightforward.Even in a trial, the support is very responsive and always on hand to assist. I like that each page has a link to the support team and I can interact with them from where I am on the site instead of logging into a different portal and logging a ticket. It seems some logical thought was put into developing the user interaction. An extensive set of features and functions is included right out of the box, so you can get up and running quickly. The most challenging part for me was figuring out how to get the agent on devices that AD or the network complained about. Once the agent is on, I have full control over the device and am able to gather a lot of information which, as any IT Admin will agree, is crucial for making sound decisions.

Cons

The UI looks a little dated and could do with some paint. Even if it isn't for everyone, some users may prefer how it currently looks. In that case, the opportunity to change the skin would be a nice bonus. Despite this, it's a great product that doesn't detract from the site's functionality.I'm surprised that the cloud version is behind the on-premise version in terms of functionality. Although saying that, it's not by much and the team has assured me that the functions are in development. So it will be very nice to see things like BitLocker management in the cloud version and improvements to the quality of the reports.I tried both the on-premise and cloud solutions, both of which work just fine. There are a few things I saw on the on-premise version that wasn't quite the same in the cloud (mentioned earlier). Additionally, at the time of writing this, there are a couple of improvements that I have suggested, namely in the area of managing multiple domains. This area still needs a little work.

### "Absolutely the must in any Environment (and a great pricing as well) "

June 3, 2021

5.0

I've been using DesktopCentral since version 9 and I can see how this product evolves into a great, a "must have" tool for any organization. There is quite a competition exists, especially with Microsoft Intune (even though Intune does not provide all the functionality that DesktopCentral has) - it's free for E5 customers. We rely on DesktopCentral in our day to day work and it's our primary tool for endpoint + server management. Absolutely helpful tool. I must also mention Support - to have support options via chat - is a great idea, always available and always helpful.

Pros

All-in-One tool, Inventory, Security, Encryption, Patch management, MDM, Modern Management, Remote Access, Software Deployment - it's a "swiss knife" for any IT department. What makes Desktop Central great is that you have everything to manage your servers, endpoints, in all aspects of it just from a single tool. No need for a multi-server deployment, very easy to deploy and manage. It just works! Logically, easy and very user/admin friendly

Cons

Sometimes it takes a while to get a new functionality implemented or some existing functionality to be improved. MacOS support sometimes takes a while to "catch up" with new OS releases (even though Apple does provide access to "betas" to pretty much anybody). It would be great to have an edition were all the modules and addons (including Security one) would be already included (we would definitely go for it). Virtualization Modules, VDI management would be a great addition as well

### "Endpoint Central is an Affordable, Feature Rich & Top Tier Endpoint Management/Remote Management & Monitoring Solution"

November 26, 2023

4.0

Pros

Endpoint Central comes to the table with an incredible amount of features that are well suited for all organizations of virtually any size. From inventorying installed software, system hardware, software metering to deploying scripts and applications - you name it and it can do it. We use this to manage about 9k endpoints and it has more than earned its keep multiple times in the past year. Their Customer Service is incredible: Every time I reach out, someone responds quickly, they understand the request and I am able to get an answer quickly, every time. From a cost perspective the pricing is very reasonable considering how much value we're able to extract from the product.

Cons

While ManageEngine Endpoint Central scores well in many areas, there are a few areas of opportunities that would help to satisfy some things that are particularly important for our organization. Firstly, I'd like to see some integration with Azure Active Directory (Azure AD or AAD), specifically the ability to create user and device groups based on existing AAD groups. The remote control feature includes the ability to copy files to/from the machine - which is a key feature in a remote world - however it's only accessible when you are remotely controlling a machine. Having a separate file transfer feature that does not require remote control would be incredible. Lastly, there is a remote Command prompt/PowerShell prompt option that is frankly invaluable. It works without issue meaning we can do what we need to do, but there are some odd visual artifacts that appear every so often that, although don't affect functionality, they are distracting.

### "Powerful solution"

March 7, 2024

5.0

I'm using it for: - Providing reports on the company's equipment, installed software, etc; - Remote assistance to employees using internal functions of the platform; - Supports endpoint security through the ability to install security patches; - Remote program update.

Pros

\- We like that this product gives us large set of feqtures to manage corporate devices such as application deployment, security management, creating reports and remote troubleshooting; - Support for all popular using operating systems: Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android; - The platform can automate security patching tasks and enforces security policies, simplifying the work of administrators and improving device security; - Our Information Security Group is very satisfied of your product because of big abmount of usefull reprots, that give them information about infrastructure condition; - Available Cloud solution, because this product has cloud solution it's easier to maintain and deploy it.

Cons

\- Integration with a company's existing IT infrastructure and third-party applications is a complex task that requires additional planning and customization; - Performance issues when dealing with a large number of endpoints; - Some features don't work the way we expect them to; - Some instructions are not up to date, which leads to spending additional time for learning how to use powerful features; - Service has difficulties in recognizing new devices. There is not enough information about the device owner at the approval stage of a new agent installation. And we would like to get an email notification of such an event.

### "We would be lost without Manage Engine Endpoint Central"

November 11, 2022

5.0

Manage Engine Desktop Central has become a critical system within our IT department. We use it for remote support, asset management, software deployment, rolling out fixes and most importantly patch management, The system is brilliant in allowing powerful administration via the Manage Engine Endpoint Central agent. We would genuinely be lost without it. We are currently looking to expand our use of the system by delving into the OS deployment feature which will further expand our love for this solution.

Pros

Remote support capabilities are amazing, we can remote control with privilege escalation by the click of a button or use system tools to quietly support and implement fixes. Remote command prompt, registry, file manager and more allow us to make changes in silence.Software deployment is great and allows us to send out new installations or upgrades to our entire estate via the Manage Engine agent. Patch management is fantastic, we are often fully patched within a week of patch Tuesday do to the power of this tool. The patch management dashboard is very clear and allows you to see problem endpoints instantly. Pushing patches is almost always a breeze and managing users rebooting their machines is made possible. The automatic deployment, patch testing and auto approval features are very useful in speeding up the entire process of receiving patches, testing and applying across the estate. The integration with Service Desk Plus is great. Across the two platforms we can view asset and user details with no interruption.

Cons

There is no real relationship with Manage Engine outside of renewals, they don't seem to assign a customer success or account manager as a single point of contact. It would be good to have a relationship with somebody at Manage Engine who can highlight new features to us or tell us what we may not be utilizing. On the rare occasion we have to contact support, it can be quite tricky to get the required level of support quickly. We do get to a solution eventually but sometimes it can be a slightly slow process. Manage Engine sometimes upgrade features or make changes to functionality without prior warning causing some elements to fail or change.

Reason for choosing ManageEngine Endpoint Central

Lots of features available in one place

### "Desktop Central - A Replacement for SCCM and WSUS"

December 16, 2021

5.0

I've used Desktop Central at my previous company and learned the product fairly quickly. When I joined IPS our \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] decided that we will use the same product for our environment. This was hands down the best decision that we made because DC really gives us an in depth analysis of our systems, and we are able to management these systems, and make applications available for users to install by themselves.

Pros

Patch management, software deployment, hardware and software reports, Self Service, and other "built in configurations" are utilized by our company daily and weekly. This is hands down the best product in the market for UEM. Also the support is top notch and I've never had an issue that could not be resolved.

Cons

The only thing I can think of is that there are no Dynamic custom groups for Users. We have an internal application that we use and weekly I have to go in and add the new users to the custom group so they can see the software in the self service portal. This is not a deal breaker, however.

Reason for choosing ManageEngine Endpoint Central

Feasibility, Cost, Maintenance, and overall better management of our systems.

### "We decided against NinjaOne for ME Endpoint Central"

January 25, 2023

4.0

We're replacing our current MDM solution and remote control software with the all-in-one solution that ME provides. We've found the MDM in ME to not only be much cheaper but less clunky and difficult to onboard devices and users. The automatic patching is already helping us plug holes in not often used machines on the shop floor.

Pros

\- The relatively cheap cost of entry for an MDM solution with Endpoint Central is great!- The automatic patching works very well in our testing so far, and we're happy to have a solution that is so easily managed- The most advanced license is by far cheaper that the NinjaOne solution we tested first.- Once through most of the setup it is fairly easy to manage this software and almost any endpoint from it

Cons

\- No built in ticketing system, you have to add the service desk software in order to incorporate that.- Can be tricky to setup, but not nearly as difficult as the on-prem RMM Central product.- Whitelisting sites in the MDM hasn't worked for us yet.

### "You must check out Desktop Central for \*any\* size organization"

February 9, 2022

5.0

Pros

It's breadth of features. It literally has features you normally need 3-4 different products from different manufacturers. Normally someone will pay for remote control software, patch management, mobile device management, desktop management as separate products but all that (and more) are built right it. The integration into AD and the ability to patch update computers off the network is vital to my company. The price is also extremely affordable. I've used them in both a 1500 employee company with more than 2000 devices and now in a smaller company with 80 employees and 100 devices and it's been a godsend. Support is also amazing. they have articles available and live chat available and all hours which is nice for me.

Cons

Some parts are confusing, like the configuration profiles. It takes some getting used to.

### "Endpoint Central - Powerful tools made simple"

December 29, 2023

4.0

Great product that is cheap (compared to other competitors) and the support from ManageEngine is great too. There are plenty of help guides to assist in setting up and live support is a click away in the application and they respond quickly to any issues that you have.

Pros

The cost compared to the features is outstanding. You get a lot of tools to help support the organisation and the remote desktop support is superb and easy to use for both the admin and the end user.

Cons

Not all features are unlocked and need extra payment to unlock them. You end up with the console having the features listed but being unable to use them as you do not have a license. This is annoying and would prefer not to have the options listed if you cannot use them.

### "An Absolutely Essential IT Support Solution for Small to Large Environments"

February 17, 2021

5.0

See above! I mainly use Desktop Central to maintain third party applications (non-Microsoft). I also provide periodic remote desktop support for a few users, including one who works from home, like I do. It would take me hours to drive to the office or user's location! . Especially in this last year, Desktop Central and a couple other Manage Engine products have been essential for me to provide support for a small office that is struggling financially to keep its doors open. I cannot say enough good things about this and the the other Manage Engine products.

Pros

From third party program installation and management to remote computer management, Desktop Central is an indispensable solution. - Managing third party software is greatly simplified with Patch Management and Software Deployment. - Full system Inventory, with Manage Licenses, Software Metering and automated system Scan. - Remote Control allows remote desktop support, essential for today's IT support. - A robust set of reports that can be scheduled and emailed. - Integrates with Service Desk Plus to automatically create service tickets, and email alerts can be created. - The Free version is fully functional and a great solution for small offices with a limited budget.

Cons

I have been using Desktop Central at my current position for 4 years. I cannot live without Desktop Central, or several other Manage Engine products! It is essential for IT to know what their network condition is, maintain its optimum health, and provide end user remote support. Desktop Central is only one of many Manage Engine products that allows IT support to do this.

[SolarWinds Patch Manager](https://www.capterra.com/p/182264/Patch-Manager/)

Reason for choosing ManageEngine Endpoint Central

I have been using various Manage Engine products across a couple employers, for over 11 years. Desktop Central won my respect from Solar Winds, back in 2012. The level of network security I set would not allow their patch manager to work, which means I would have had to remove some security measures to get it to work. Desktop Central, as well as Event Log Analyzer and OP-Manager, has worked perfectly well with my heightened security measures. My worries with Solar Winds was unfortunately proven valid with the recent breach of their own patch management distribution server. I am soon to retire knowing Manage Engine has provided me over a decade of resources to help me achieve this accolade!

### "An allrounder Endpoint management Tool"

October 9, 2023

4.0

The overall experience of using Manage Engine is very positive. It's a compact tool where all the options can be easily found and integrated accordingly.

Pros

I have been using Desktop Central for the last 2 years, and it has been a fantastic experience. Below are the speifics which were best about Endpoint Centrala. Deploying of the application is very easy as you get access 50K+ applications in handy.b.Deploying patches at both OS level and Application level is exact and simplec.Displkaying information about any zerio day vulnerability whioch has been releasedd.Creating Custom Group with respect t Computers and userse.Sceduoling report to be sent directly to the mailbox and generating custom report like details about specific software on all endpoints, etc.f.Implementing policies is very simple and straightforward.h. Real-time showing the result of any configuration (deployment) which has been triggered,

Cons

I won't see any specific thing about dislike as each time the Endpoint Management tool is expanding. But I have faced a couple of issuesa. Deploying configuration on used-based was failing continuously for me.b. IT is tough to get the status of the device encryption. When force encryption is deployed it does get applied, but the result is not displayed back in the configuration.c.Postgre SQL knowledge is needed for query reports.

### "Great once configured."

November 28, 2022

4.0

Managing all of our assets - servers, computers, printers, tablets and mobiles in one place without having to edit a database/document as previously was the case. We like that we can easily deploy any changes to machines or mobiles with a few clicks rather than having to remote onto a DC and add/edit a Group Policy for a machine.

Pros

Once configured, there is plenty of settings to configure and features to use which are great to have. The Inventory management, OS Deployment, Patch Management, machine configuration (group policies) as well as the reporting. Mobile Device Management can also be added separately which integrates with Endpoint Central - a single dashboard for majority of the Manage Engine products.

Cons

Configuring the setup of OS deployment wasn't as straight forward as expected, however customer service are quite quick to respond. Sometimes the website (cloud based) can be slow to use but this is very far and inbetween. Unable to edit some content directly from the page you're on, but instead it takes you to the page located within the admin area. So once you've made the changes, you need to go back to where you were. Being able to click amend/edit and it open a popup with the settings to change would be far more productive.

### "MEDC is an important tool for us."

September 23, 2019

5.0

Patching is a breeze. RDP has saved me a lot of headaches since I don't always remember the FQDN of every machine in the building. Helps let me know if systems are down. Overall its a tool I cant live without at this point.

Pros

Inventory features. Makes it really easy to see what PC's are running and who is using them. Login history, Windows patching, software inventories, warranty information (except for HP) and a great built in RDP feature. This software makes life a LOT easier. Its pricing is pretty competitive for everything it offers. We have stuck with it for almost 3 years and don't plan to switch away unless there is a drastic change in its price or functionality. So far I would give it a solid 9.5/10.

Cons

When you hit your license limit, if you don't realize it, and you do another installation, removing the license from an unused computer doesn't activate the one you were initially trying to activate. Often requiring you to jump through a little bit of hoops to get it going. Always make sure you have a free license prior to the install. The only other thing I would truly consider a con is some of the features are more buried then they should be, and its not always immediately obvious where your going to find what you are looking for. Once you have used it for a while, you get used to it though and its a non-issue.

### "Manage Engine Desktop Central UEM "

May 6, 2022

4.0

Pros

The remote feature is a plus to troubleshoot and assist user when our main communication application is down. I like the GUI of this application. The support of multi OS The integration with JIRA helpdesk On Cloud base we can see the bitlocker status and can create custom report to see the bitlocker status.

Cons

The remote wipe is located on the MDM license and we need to install two agents for desktop central and MDM No Bitlocker management is available on the cloud base. Need to add more hints or a help to main sub feature to make it easier to find how to do this and that. Even though there are knowledge base link, but if there is more shortcut it will be more helpfull.

### "I would recommend Desktop Central to any Medium sized business"

January 31, 2023

4.0

Overall, i would recommend Endpoint Central to any firm between 100-300 users. It would probably be equally as capable in businesses with 500+ users also. It has a simple and easy to use interface, but also options for more advanced troubleshooting, patching, and reporting if so desired.

Pros

For me, the reporting aspect of the software really set it apart form others i have used. At my company, Weekly, monthly and yearly reports are essential and i was able to hit most (if not all) criteria for my searches through Endpoint Central directly, without having to go through and correct information afterwards. You can export the reports directly into a .csv file which is very handy also.

Cons

t it would be nicer if there was an easier way to upgrade from Desktop Central to Endpoint Central without as much fiddling around.

Reason for choosing ManageEngine Endpoint Central

We were already happy with Desktop Central, and wanted the added features that came with Endpoint Central.

### "Endpoint Central Breakdown"

November 29, 2022

4.0

Pros

The 'A la carte' build options is the best feature to me. You can get exactly what you need without having to buy up to a certain level. Remote Control and Patch Management functions are as good as anyone in the market. PXE boot OS deployment available which is becoming harder to find.

Cons

Company does not partner with others for licensing or support. It is difficult to work with the Customer Service and Support teams at time and not having partners eliminates the option of having anyone else available to support.

### "Cannot fault this product or Manage Engine"

May 30, 2023

5.0

Overall, Endpoint Central has been one of the best endpoint management platforms I've ever used. It far outstrips any native Microsoft product I've configured.

Pros

Endpoint central is an easy to deploy, configure & the first tool I'd think about putting into any business. It has everything a good IT Department should require to manage it's infrastructure and software.

Cons

Our current asset management module does not integrate with the cloud based version of service desk plus. This is a minor issue, some features that are on the hosted version of Endpoint central are not on the cloud version.

### "Endpoint Management Made Easy"

March 14, 2023

5.0

We needed a way to manage our computers, smartphones, and tablets, and with Endpoint Central we get that in a single pane of glass.

Pros

ManageEngine Endpoint Central is extremely easy to setup and use. The product is feature rich and is fairly inexpensive compared to other products. Their support is AMAZING. You can chat with a technician from within the product, and they are eager to resolve your issue quickly.

Cons

I hope to see a vulnerability scanning and remediation feature in the product. The ability to scan a webserver for hardening, as well as network devices for vulnerabilities would make this product complete.
