Pros: Numbers is a delightfully designed and aesthetically pleasing piece of software. I used it to create a complicated budgeting document spanning across multiple pages. The spreadsheet worked well, and it was easy to track expenses by month and make changes.

I mostly use the software for much smaller projects, such as tracking medical expenses of various kinds. Numbers may be better considered a table-based software, rather than a spreadsheet program. You create various tables on a single page, and have basic formulas that can be applied within and across the tables.

The best feature of Numbers is how easy it is to make spreadsheets/tables look good. While Excel's look is bland as a standard, Numbers easily applies different formatting to tables to make them pleasing to the eye and great to include in reports or portfolios.

Cons: The biggest knock on Numbers is that it isn't Excel. It lacks some of the common-sense functionality and brute-force power of its competitor. Things that were intuitive or happening behind the scenes are more difficult to make work in Numbers. A prime example is trying to create nested functions. The parentheses and logic behind creating formulas is difficult to get exactly right. Trying to navigate to another cell often alters the formula, rather than moving location. Copying a formula to another location would perfectly update in Excel, but it becomes a bit more difficult in Numbers.

Then, Excel is just a beast. A co-worker built massive programs within Excel and frequently used powerful macros that simply could not be duplicated in Numbers. However, they are different programs and designed for different things.

Overall: Numbers is a quick and easy spreadsheet program to use within Apple. It makes clean, presentable reports for tracking and organizing data.

I've used Numbers intermittently over the last 5 years.

Pros: The best thing about Numbers, both interface-wise / user-experience wise and output-wise, is it's aesthetically pleasing. If you want to make numbers and data look cool and high tech or display data for a sexy presentation, Numbers is the way to go. You just can't have too complex of an assignment or it likely won't have capabilities that even come close to Microsoft Excel. For simpler projects and presentations, though, Numbers is the most modern and is the most design-heavy program to use when it comes to data charts, graphs, etc.

The only and I mean ONLY thing Google Sheets has over Numbers is Google Sheet projects can be logged into and accessed anywhere with an internet connection where Numbers documents are files. I might use Google Sheets for a simple list or table I need to make and share with someone (i.e. party planning, event planning, etc.) but if I'm using a program for data presentation I'll always pick Numbers.

Cons: I dislike that, feature-wise, it's astronomically sub-par vs. Microsoft Excel. There's no competition. Excel is so much more complex when it comes to features, formulas, updating numbers in charts and graphs automatically, you name it. I'm actually shocked that Apple hasn't cracked it yet since they've obviously nailed it when it comes to cell phones and computers and are giving PowerPoint a run for their money with Keynote. Numbers and Pages just don't cut it and Numbers will never be used by a finance person or data analyst until hundreds of more features are added and ease of use becomes more similar to Excel since so many are used to that user-experience.

Another huge issue is newer Numbers rollouts are incompatible with old Numbers documents. Even if new updates are rolled out and way more features are added or features are removed (only if problematic, though) a Numbers-made document should ALWAYS be able to open no matter what iteration of the program is out. Unless it's decades later. But 5 years later isn't acceptable.

Pros: This product is free with any iPhone, iPad, or Mac. I love being able to create simple spreadsheets on my phone. You can collaborate with other users of the software live. It is effortless to create PDF and or Excel copies of the spreadsheets to share with users that do not use numbers or have minimal experience with spreadsheets. Apple devices are not required to use the software, anyone that has an iCloud account can use the software on from the website.

Cons: As an expert user of spreadsheets, I most likely design far more complex spreadsheets than the average user. That being said I found some complicated formulas are difficult to create on the iPhone. I discovered that many of my older colleagues were very hesitant, even to try to learn a new spreadsheet software. It would be nice to have some video quick reference guides made to Apple standards to help with earning the conversion of some of these possible new users.

Overall: It works on any device that can connect to the internet. It is free with an iCloud account. Collaboration works flawlessly, in my experience. I just love being able to create and work on spreadsheets from my phone while traveling.

Pros: Compared to Excel for Mac, Numbers just feels a lot nicer and smoother to use. It also has a few features (such as checkbox data type) that Excel doesn't offer. It also handles UTF-8 in CSV files much better than Excel.

The online collaboration tools are fine for smaller documents, and the export to Excel function (essential considering most people wouldn't know what to do with a .numbers file) works really well including all formatting, formulas etc.

Numbers also benefits hugely from MacOS versioning, which is almost a hidden feature at this point, but incredibly useful - you can go back to any historic version of your document and restore it, or even just pull a single number or table from it and copy back to your current version.

Cons: As soon as I started using Numbers for larger projects, I started to encounter very serious issues, such as chunks of data disappearing (thankfully I was able to pull them back using versioning). CPU and memory usage also became very high for larger documents (when compared to Excel), and for documents in iCloud, the entire document continuously syncs to iCloud every few seconds making for a lot of data usage if your document is, say, 3MB.

Overall: I still use Numbers all the time for small, quick calculations, as I prefer the UX to Excel. However, having had more than one case of disappearing data in much larger documents, I wouldn't use it for a major project again.

Pros: 1/ Only pros I can think of is that it is an inbuilt and a free software which comes with Apple Mac book

2/ It allows you to save file in any format you want excel pdf etc so that the person opening it on windows will also not have any issues.

3/ Saves you a little money in case you don't wanna buy MS Office for your new Mac Book. Does the job whats needed but to get a Hand on it and to be as good on it as you are on excel takes a lot of time.

4/ So far Numbers have not been able to take over excel / office products hence not many people are familiar with the platform.

Cons: 1/ Less features than MS Excel

2/ Less user friendly than MS Excel

3/ Less shortcuts as compared to MS Excel

4/ Saves automatically in numbers extension and doesn't open on window's OS which has MS Office running in it.

5/ As of now 90% of the corporate sector uses MS Excel hence working in Numbers creates a lot of difficulties for ourself and for the end user.

Pros: You can't discuss spreadsheets without reference to Excel -- the leading product and the best thing Microsoft ever created. Numbers is not to be compared with Excel -- if you are a power user! Excel has too many features and functions. But, 'for light use' Numbers is terrific. Easy to use, lighter and faster and 'prettier' than excel. I do simple reports every week and I do them in Numbers because I can get a better-looking result, faster. ALso, number has that cool sliding cell format... so you can have some analysis complete but leave a slider (not a value) for one of the parameters and quickly demonstrate its effect on the final result. Really, all spreadsheeets should have this.

Cons: It just lacks the scale a power to do 'major' analysis. There are so many features in excel like vlookups, pivot, etc. that are not included. It's a spreadsheet for 90% of your use cases. Not all of them.

Pros: I like numbers sleek look and how it compliments the Apple OS. I use a MacBook air primarily at work and at home when needed for spreadsheets. It has the functions and formulas I require to run my spreadsheets, as well as the editing functions to make the excel file uniform and presentable. It is free on my Apple Iphone, which is great. It has a professional look and I can convert files to Microsoft excel as well if needed, and PDF too. Overall, this meets my day to day needs for running spreadsheets at work.

Cons: I am more used to using excel, and its advanced functions. This is a basic spreadsheet that can get the job done on a basic level. No issues with that. But if you need something more advanced to run pivot tables, v lookups, etc, look no further than excel.

Overall: It allows me to use spreadsheets on the go with my phone. It is free to download as well. It has all of the functions I need to finish my day to day tasks at work.

Pros: Create simple, slick looking spreadsheets for all sorts of personal and business applications. I've found using numbers to be the simplest way to track finances for my business expenses. Also, sharing across the Apple economy makes using numbers the best way to track your spreadsheets on the go. I'm always prepared with Numbers! You can also export your spreadsheets as Excel documents and PDFs: so, sharing your spreadsheets with other people is simple as well.

Cons: Numbers does all the base things that other spreadsheet software (like Excel) can do, but if you need something more than basic calculations and exports: you may want to consider another piece of software. Performing complicated tasks is not what numbers is for.

Pros: I may be biased toward Mac. I have been an Apple fanatic for a decade now. In all fairness, I use both Microsoft and Apple products and software on a daily basis. Numbers is amazing because it can open Excel files and export as an Excel file, but it has the user-friendliness of an Apple software.

Cons: Numbers has a few less features as Microsft Excel. If you are a spreadsheet guru and looking to use the most advanced features available, then Numbers is not the best software for you. Excel would be best to use. But if you're like me and you like to ease-of-use that comes with Apple products and software, you will likely find Numbers to be the best fit.

Overall: The ability to create graphs, charts, formulas and work with Excel files in a more user-friendly software.

Pros: Numbers is a spreadsheet that provides different ways to present my records in different forms. I like its ability to make spreadsheets that incorporate tables and images that really make my files impressive. I was also amazed on how this spreadsheets ease my burden in collaborating and sharing spreadsheet files with my team on different apple devices. I must say that this software makes my spreadsheet files more interesting than ever. Numbers increased my productivity and it provides all the features I am looking for a perfect and functional spreadsheet software.

Cons: Hopefully, in the future Apple provides a way of connecting its software products with other vendor especially connecting to database.

Pros: Creating sheets, editing, formatting, duplicating, it is all so easy to figure out and use! From owning a small home business to directing summer camps and being the president of our school's PTA, it is so important to stay organized. I literally could not survive without this program! When I switched from Excel to Numbers it made all the difference. This is not an intimidating program, and is so easy to use at whatever level you need.

Cons: The hints I like least probably have more to do with my lack of knowledge than anything, but I wish that writing formulas for cells was easier to figure out, or that there was more instruction in doing it.

Pros: First and foremost, I love that it works seamlessly with my Apple iPhone so that I can see my schedule for the day from anywhere. I also enjoy the fact that I can access Pages (and other Apple iCloud products) on my Windows PC. It is a simple spreadsheets tool that is easy to understand and use.

Cons: It's not quite as intuitive as its competitors Excel (Windows) and Sheets (Google). Also, I could not figure out how to change all row/column widths at one time without Googling, and I am typically pretty good with tech. Overall, the features on Pages are standard for spreadsheet programs, but it will get the job done for those who aren't looking for a lot of bells and whistles.

Overall: I have a simple program that helps me create my monthly calendar, which I can view easily on either my iPhone or Windows PC.

Pros: What I like about numbers is that its easy for managing work in terms of accounting & computation. Also, with cloud service you can easily access your file in all your devices. With lots of tools inside the program you can easily do your job.

Cons: The least I like about the software is that you wont be able to download or use it in a windows operating system. Also, if you are a windows user you'll be confused at first because the commands are different. But as you progress it becomes more easier.

Overall: Overall my experience in using numbers is great in terms of managing reports especially when you input lots of data.

Pros: I'm not a big fan of spreadsheets, but my day-to-day demands it from me. preparing call sheets, assembly sheets, filming plans and other documents for a shooting would not be possible without such a simple and classic tool as Numbers. For those of us who are Apple users some time ago, it is not a problem to adapt to their interface. It is much simpler and more complete than that of its main competitor.

Cons: It is true that they have simplified the use of formulas in the spreadsheets with the latest updates. However, I still seem one of the main losses of time when making a sheet.

Pros: What I love most about numbers is that it's a blank canvas and gives you the ability to keep and track data exactly the way you want. It's clean, beautiful design keeps the most important data at the forefront and is far less rigid than excel, google sheets, or similar apps. I use numbers to track everything from budget and revenue to client information. I also love that I can update files across devices with iCloud.

Cons: The only con is that it's a little hard to collaborate with non-apple users, but other than that I haven't experienced anything negative with this app.

Pros: We use Mac computers and Apple portable devices for everything and, in turn, use Numbers for all spreadsheet documents. In conjunction with iCloud, all docs are saved and sharable between devices. The interface is clean and intuitive (logical). Unlike Excel, there's very little learning curve. Lots of easy templates to jump in and start using right away.

Cons: The only "con" would be that the desktop version is a bit of a RAM hog. Maybe because Numbers tends to be rather visual and graphic, it tends to bog other graphic-heavy programs down slightly.

Pros: If you are an Apple user with simple needs then Numbers is for you. You can build very beautiful spreadsheets very easily with Numbers. It is simple to use but yet powerful.

Cons: Don't kid yourself, this is not an Excel replacement if you are really using the power of Excel. There are numerous powerful functions that Excel does that numbers cannot do. I would like to see them close that gap more.

Overall: It is a great tool for those who live in the Apple ecosystem and need easy to use yet powerful spreadsheets. If you need very powerful tools or exchange sheets with non Apple then stick with Excel.

Pros: Numbers by Apple is a sexier, more intuitive product than it's competitor, Microsoft Excel. If you have an iPhone, iPad and/or Mac, it makes sharing documents across devices so easy. It has real-time team features so your entire team can collaborate on the same document. It's a must have for spreadsheets as you can insert pictures or media, there are templates for budgets, and it's easy to teach new users how to navigate it.

Cons: Most people use PC-based computers/systems in the workplace so you can't send the Numbers spreadsheets you create to people outside the Mac operating system or they aren't able to edit them. Not a software issue, but nonetheless a hassle when using this product.

Pros: The similar functionality to Microsoft Excel.

The price compared to Microsoft Excel.

The ease of use.

Vast amount of templates built into Numbers so you don't have to go searching the internet for them.

Ability to have a single document which has multiple tables. A single page is able to have multiple charts and sub tables. Which excel can't do.

Cons: I wish there was a dark mode where the application would be black theme! Sometimes when I open excel sheets in Numbers its not exactly the same as would have been in Excel. Apple is getting better at fixing this but its not 100% yet. Number is lacking in some of the power features that excel has but a lot of people don't use them. Maybe only 5% of users would have issue with this. Numbers is more geared towards presentation of data instead of analysis. The lack of pivot tables.

Cons: - Companies still like to use MS Excel or Google Docs. Wish it could be the main stream, but in the short term doesn't look like it's happening.

- Sometimes converting Excel or Google Docs will mess up with the format. Data is copied fine, but the styling or the formula will be lost

Pros: Numbers is a good and reliable spreadsheets software. I find it at times more intuitive than other similar products (you can figure out how to do things by yourself, without having to navigate in tons of menus). It works pretty well for basic filtering and sorting contents, and you can use it to create nice looking graphics.

Cons: I wish I could work with different formats, but having to keep saving in several different formats each time is a little bit annoying. Like, sometimes I'm working on a spreadsheet originally created in another format, and if I hit save to continue working in my project, it will ask me to create a new file with their .numbers extension. And sometimes it will conflict with the other file, and you may end up losing some of the work. I wish it had better compatibility with other formats.

Overall: Data analysis.

Pros: Every update of this software seems to just get better and better. Numbers now has everything I need to create an informative and appealing spreadsheet. It definitely does not have all the features of some of it's spreadsheet competitors, but for my business it serves its purpose and I love the mobile layout and free-form canvas. Spreadsheets I created on excel are easily available (through the cloud) and are easy to view and edit. Having to create speadsheets on a mobile device, as I often do, is definitely more tedious than using a desktop, but Numbers makes it as painfree as possible to create a great looking and informative document.

Cons: It is still more basic than other spreadsheet programs, but depending on your business and what you are using it for it might be all you need.

Pros: Works really nice across all my devices (iPhone, iPad, MacBook). I LOVE the sharing feature (working with multiple people on the same document).

Cons: I do not like the web application that much. Its cool for people without an apple product but some basic features like copy and paste style are missing. (Just the style, not the text etc)

When working with diagrams:

Creating a diagram is easy. But it is really hard to configure the axis and labels for the axis. For example I would like to have a diagram that shows the measured voltage as its Y-value and the X-axis should show the time in nano seconds. After trying for a while I was able to show just 5 values for the time on the x-axis. But the labels showed "0.98" and "1.96" and so on. I want to have even values like "1" and "2". It would be better to read.

Addition to diagrams:

A cool feature would be to add vertical lines to a diagram. For example I want to highlight a specific period inside the diagram. That is not possible (just horizontal lines). So I have to add smart-art-lines to the diagram.

Overall: Its (at least for me) easier to use than Microsoft Excel. Its easy to use. That's a huge benefit.

Pros: Like everything about Apple, it's very easy to use and it just looks beautiful. Let's say you're not a professional and you don't need something too advanced. Numbers is then a better choice than Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets. Numbers doesn't require much effort to make a nice chart or data sheet. And it also works just perfectly with both Mac and iOS, so you'll always feel right at home if you have both.

Cons: Numbers still doesn't have as much functionality as other alternatives. But if you are going to use numbers, it's probably because you don't need anything too difficult. And Numbers is a great app for that.

Overall: If you have a Mac and/or an iOS device and you don't need something very advanced, Numbers is a great app for spreadsheets. I've been using it for quite a while, and I really love it when I need a simple but beautiful spreadsheet or a chart, and I don't have time to work with MS Excel. It's simple, it works well enough, it has most of the functionality I need. I love it.

Pros: I am so surprised at how easy Numbers is to use. As a Customer Support Specialist, we are required to report on our numbers every quarter and Numbers makes it so easy to display information in a professional manner. I always use the templates and remove what I don't need and I find that that works best for me. I have also built documents from scratch before and that was pretty simple too.

Cons: Sometimes when opening an excel document on Numbers, it doesn't display properly. Would just be nice if it converted over a little nicer, but not a deal breaker.

I use Numbers for just about everything in my life that I need to organize.

Pros: It's useable/editable across all devices so I can start something on my home desktop and then refer to it later from my car on mobile. It's easier to use than Microsoft OneNote and some other comparable programs I've tried.

Cons: The only thing I'd like to see added is some further sub-categorization beyond the main tabs. Sometimes if I'm using this for a really involved project it tends to get a little cluttered.

I use numbers daily and it is has become essential to our organization.

Pros: I like the ability to access my spreadsheets on the go, and still have most of the functionality of Excel. You can create semi-sophisticated charts, using formulas and other functions. I also love the auto save and sync function to ensure no files are lost.

Cons: For a free software that's pretty comparable to Excel which you need a license for, I can't say there's anything not to like.

Pros: Has all the functionality that I need, and more, but presents it in an uncrowded way that brings relevant features forward and doesn't clutter the interface.

Cons: I wish it was easier to collaborate online. I end up using Google Sheets because of its more seamless online syncing, but I would use Numbers for everything if it was easier to share and collaborate.

Pros: Numbers is a great solution for those who want to better understand number management softwares. It came preloaded on my Mac. (as it does with every new Mac purchase) As a user of Microsoft's Excel as well, I can definitely say Numbers has an impressive amount of features that dwarf my experience with Excel. It's layout is easy to understand in comparison to it's competition. The large number of buttons and tabs in excel is simplified in Numbers into a few buttons that are continuous across all of Apple's iWork Softwares.

Cons: While it's powerful, you get what you pay for. While I don't really have much of anything negative to say, it does lack in the amount of programed formulas you can use as compared to Excel.

Pros: The biggest Pro for Numbers is that I can use it anywhere I have my phone. I love that I can access anything that is synched to the Cloud and use it whenever and wherever I need to. It's a bit more user friendly than Excel is, Numbers is definitely easier to approach and begin using.

Cons: I regularly use Excel during my work day to help keep me organized. I use Numbers at home because it came ready to go on my Mac when I purchased it. The biggest thing I dislike about Numbers is the scrolling feature. It moves too much to the right and covers up numbers that I need to see when making a spreadsheet.

I feel that the design features are very limited compared to Excel and this makes it difficult for me to make the same caliber spreadsheets I do at work. I wish there were more options when it came to making the spreadsheets presentable.

Overall I believe that this spreadsheet software is just okay. If you're looking for a simple spreadsheet software to use this one is for you. It just isn't great to use on a regular basis for a large amount of information.

I like being able to combine other elements within my Numbers document rather than it being one giant spreadsheet and nothing else. It's nice to work with spreadsheet values in addition to supportive material in a full layout in numbers.

Cons: It feels buggy when I click on a table and have the additional borders margins and table handle show up. It makes it difficult to move things accurately because visuals will overlap.

Pros: As mentioned in the title, this is a good product. It's very easy to use and works well even with excel files. The functions are all very similar to what you already have learned from excel so you don't have to be nervous about using it. It also is really easy to make some stunning looking spreadsheets (if there is such a thing).

Cons: Sometimes it's ease-of-use and simplicity make it feel like it's a little "under powered" or lacking in features or options. Also, I have noticed some performance issues on large spreadsheets with lots of calculations when trying to scroll.

Pros: It is built into my Mac, so it always there for me. After you figure out how to use it, it is fairly easy to figure out what to do, but I haven't done anything sophisticated with it.

Cons: I'm more comfortable with Excel and the Open Office Cal version of spreadsheets. I get lost trying to do things that I've learned to do easily on Excel and Open Office. It took a small miracle to figure out how to alphabetize a column and have the data follow it. Getting the printer to not give me tons of extra pages of blank columns is sometimes challenging. I use Quickbooks for my business and only need spreadsheets for either very simple things or to do a budget for the non-profit. I'm not an accountant to put everything into a spreadsheet. I still struggle with functions and often wonder if I'm getting the "right answer".

Overall: I can do rudimentary spreadsheet tasks, but the learning curve on this has been much higher than Excel or Open Office version was. Maybe because I don't use Numbers as much as the other two, I'm still feeling like it takes me longer to build a sheet than in the other two.

Pros: -Table formatting options are nice and are quick to implement

- Integrates well with MacOS

Cons: - NO FORMULA BAR...you can't see the formula you're typing. It only appears in the cell. This makes it impossible to develop a complex formula for data organizing or manipulation

- No way to duplicate formatting options across cells

- Very hard to navigate

- Small set of rows and columns provided in new spreadsheets

- Row and Column headers are positioned away from the cells so adjusting height or width is frustrating

- Draging to highlight a range of cells is tricky and may cause you to move a cell's contents instead

Overall: After using Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, Numbers feels like 5-steps backwards. It makes using and manipulating data in a spreadsheet so difficult. This is not the app you want to use if you need to do any serious data mining or organization. Avoid if you have real work to do.

Cons: The part I like the least about Numbers (at least the last version I used) was the inspector opened in a separate window that would hide when you worked on the spreadsheet. Excel is nice that it opens on the side and stays in front. The Numbers Inspector is a bit annoying in this sense, and perhaps they have changed it recently.

And though it's not known for it's collaboration tools, they actually work quite well. It works great on mobile too, since I can open up a spreadsheet that I've been working on my Mac while I'm on my iPhone and make a few quick edits.

Cons: Unfortunately, older versions of Numbers for Apple are actually easier to use. The older versions where simpler in function as well.

Pros: I love Numbers. You can use it to make virtually any kind of spreadsheet, chart or diagram you could need. It, for a time, was an essential software for me at work. I love the pre-designed templates they provide & the built in iCloud synchronization.

Cons: In the last year there has been a few updates that I am less than pleased with. The keyboard on the mobile platform (iPad) takes up nearly half the screen. Also I've had issues with inputting dates & data into my spreadsheets since the updates. It is unfortunate because these updates are meant to improve functionality but for this software it was not the case.

Great tool, very similar to Google sheets, but the Apple version.

Pros: Love being able to make graphs on it. Its pretty simple to use (see con on making graphs). Great general stats tool, I love the colors and themes you can pick for your stats.

I used to use this program for marketing reports as well. It came in handy and eased the process when doing them by hand. It was easy to print to pdf and send to client.

The formulas are also pretty easy to use, as long as you know the basics.

Cons: I am not able to keep stats of something in an easy way. I have about 12 statistics that I keep for our company and it's not really user friendly to that degree. Its a very basic program for everyday people.

We use this software at the office to provide accurate data to the Accounting department.

Pros: Numbers by Apple provides tools for analyzing and controlling our finances and weekly expenses, so we can manage our monthly targets and analyze the income and expenses of the studio. I really like the statistical designs, the themes and the colour diagrams.

Cons: Everything works well for the moment, me and my team really enjoy using this software without any issues so far.

Pros: It will open Excel files as well as export to Excel. Easy to use, great price point. I love that I can use it on my phone, tablet, or desktop.

Cons: Nothing. If you do a lot of really fancy things with your spreadsheets though, this is probably not for you.

Overall: If you are a fairly basic user of spreadsheets and an Apple person, this is a great and inexpensive replacement for MS Excel. I originally started using this when I needed to upgrade my MS suite and didn't want to spend a ton of money. I seldom used spreadsheets at that time and didn't do anything fancy with them. I had no problems opening files from clients or sending them back. I ended up switching and saved about $800.

Pros: Budget software can get expensive. Numbers is free and it offers several templates which are perfect for keeping track of my spending and finances. Customer service is so easy to reach with the Apple Support App as well so in the event I need additional guidance there's no trouble with finding support.

Cons: Occasionally I'll run into editing trouble on my iPhone as opposed to the Mac. Downloadable templates aren't as easy to find as some of the Office ones, but I'm able to save my own templates for future use instead

Overall: I save money on budget software and can quickly keep track of my spending.

Cons: Like any software as new versions are released features can sometimes be lost, then restored. The interface gets changes and can be frustrating for frequent users to adapt to. The current version has improved and is compatible with files made in older versions.

Pros: What I like most about the software is the ease of use, from the menu tabs, options, and the ability to manipulate a document's data. Apple is very good at making the UI easy to use by making it very visual. You are not digging through menus too much to perform a task. With the recent upsets, it has made the program is easier to use and provides more tools for your spread sheets.

Cons: What I don't like about the software is the dead ends you can end up in. For example, I wanted to update an old document our business uses, but I was not able to simply manipulate the text along with the boxes. I thought by using Numbers to create a sign-up sheet it would be easier, but I was mistaken. I had to Pages because our clients need to be able to write on the document and fill out information. For some reason, I was not able to create the document the way I wanted to using Numbers. I had to use Pages, and use the underscore key multiple times to create a line for our clients to write on. I am sure there is a more efficent way, but I was not able to find it at that time I createt the document.

Overall: My overall experience with Numbers has been a decent one. Before I began working for a privately owned business, I did not really use any spreadsheet software. The times I did use Numbers I kept finding myself trying to figure out how to get the software to do what I wanted, instead of it actually performing the task I wanted. But besides that one particular instance, the software was able to perform most takes very well for our business. It may not be as advanced as Microsoft Excel, but it is a great alternative that is free. I would say, Numbers is a lot easier to use than Google Sheets.

Pros: You can open Excel documents. You can create and have spreadsheets with Numbers. This is basically Apple's more sleek & simplified version of Excel, which I guess you don't need the real thing or don't want the real thing (for some reason) then it's not that bad.

Cons: DON'T make the mistake of thinking this is exactly like Excel. I had trouble customizing spreadsheets and doing some of the simple things (that are simple in Excel) in Numbers. I imported a spreadsheet with a lot of formulas in it, and Numbers jacked up that Spreadsheet, and since I'm an Apple ecosystem at home, I had to wait until I got back to the office to finish a spreadsheet.

Overall: Pretty much anytime I don't have Excel available, i revert to Numbers. If what I need to do, can be done in Numbers.

Pros: It is much easier to use than Excel and much more pleasing to look at. I find the features much more intuitive and cleaner than those on Excel. The graphs and charts are seamless and very pleasing to the eye!

Cons: Most people use Microsoft products (especially in grad school/office settings), and I find that exporting Numbers files to Excel usually come with some bugs or glitches... maybe even negatiely impacting the data and/or file. For that reason I usually stick with Excel because it is more widely used and therefore more versatile.

Overall: Easy to use and pleasing to look at! It is highly intuitive.

Pros: My usual want in a program is that its easy to use and puts out a good final product. This program does the job.

You can spreadsheet/chart/ create visually engaging presentations of data for your teams / presentations.

Does not have all the extra's of Excel in many ways BUT I personally prefer the set-up and final visuals created in this program.

Also you can create multiple tables on ONE document in Numbers and you cannot do this in Excel.

Worth playing around with if you use Excel to compare for yourself the differences.

Cons: Numbers is a better program for presenting data BUT not a great program for the analysis of data.

Lacks some of the deeper features you will find in Excel that assist in gathering greater information in larger data input.

No pivot table (Excel has this)

Overall: Great program for people not looking for all the fancy extras that Excel has.

Pros: I love that this software is free! It is extremely similar to excel and its not hard at all to transfer over to. The layout and design is stunning. Having the integration with iCloud makes sharing and editing across multiple users and devices seamless.

Cons: I don't enjoy how the controls are on the right hand side of the screen versus on top. I am used to all of those controls being laid out in a toolbar format. I think it could be more smooth in the functionality of it.

Overall: I get access to a free software that works just like an expensive software program with almost the exact same capabilities.

Cons: The only downside is having to search the help function for a few quirky things that I couldn't otherwise find by myself. Even from my first usage, however, nothing took more than a few minutes to figure out and you can copy and paste from a google spreadsheet right into Numbers if needed.

Cons: There was a bigger learning curve to learning Numbers when I first opened. I think this is mostly due to the fact that it is a less popular and taught software in its industry.

Pros: Apple's Numbers makes it easier to create beautiful looking spreadsheets and charts as compared to Microsoft's Excel. The "canvas" model that it's built upon is the driving reason for this. Numbers is also included with all new Macs and iOS devices, so there's no additional cost to use. Apple's iCloud offers the ability to pretty seamlessly work on a spreadsheet across multiple Mac or iOS devices.

Cons: There's much less functional "programming" capabilities built into Numbers than Excel has, so if you have very complex calculation needs, Excel is likely a better choice. Also, due to Numbers concept of a "Canvas", it's much less useful as a file format for transferring data from once source to another. Again, Excel is a much better option if you have a regular need to export/import data into a variety of other information systems.

Cons: When I have tried to export something from Numbers into Microsoft Excel it doesn't transfer one for one. Similar to Google Sheets there seems to be something lost in converting it to Microsoft Excel. The application is a little less intuitive than I would hope.

Cons: There is a learning curve for Excel users as some of the more complex functions are obscured due to the simplicity of the interface, At times this has resulted in using Numbers to view sheets, but not as much to create them.

Pros: If you're fully hooked into the Apple ecosystem and your spreadsheet needs are pretty standard, than you should absolutely be using Numbers. The fact that it's cloud-based makes it completely portable and usable on all your Apple devices.

Cons: If you're an advanced spreadsheet user, go elsewhere. Numbers lacks the ability to do complex things like run Macros like Excel or connect to other software like Google Sheets.

Overall: A clean spreadsheet application with the simplicity of the Apple ecosystem.
