### "Numbers Review"

August 9, 2019

4.0

Overall it's great for my small personal projects and domestic affairs, but definitely won't use in an office environment or complex projects

Pros

\- Numbers has the best product experience with touchscreen laptops and tablet devices - As expected from an Apple product, the product design is just beautiful and super intuitive, even my little siblings use it for organizing their own tasks and assignments - Exportability to excel and pdf is seamless and all formats and styling is maintained with little occasional errors, perhaps in cases of missing fonts or something similar

Cons

\- It is quite limited in complex formulations and table relationships, so won't be much of a con is used for simple domestic and little bookkeeping tasks, but won't scale and perform well in large complex data sets and relationships - As a follo up to the earlier point, here are some key features for any spreadsheet app you'd expect that it doesn't have: -Visual basic scripting -Table pivoting etc But as i said, if you limit its use to basic book keeping and organization projects and tasks, you'll be fine with it.

### "The Best spreadsheet program overall"

January 27, 2022

5.0

Overall numbers is your spreadsheet to go unless you're a corporate professional doing spreadsheets. For everyday use numbers is easy to use, powerful enough and - free!

Pros

Intuitive, easy manipulation of cells; great formatting options; powerful formulas; pleasant and intuitive graphics

Cons

Excel has numerically more functions. Might be able to handle larger datasets, but I've never run into trouble with even 10s of thousands of rows in numbers

### "Spreadsheets made easy"

July 31, 2018

5.0

Pros

Create simple, slick looking spreadsheets for all sorts of personal and business applications. I've found using numbers to be the simplest way to track finances for my business expenses. Also, sharing across the Apple economy makes using numbers the best way to track your spreadsheets on the go. I'm always prepared with Numbers! You can also export your spreadsheets as Excel documents and PDFs: so, sharing your spreadsheets with other people is simple as well.

Cons

Numbers does all the base things that other spreadsheet software (like Excel) can do, but if you need something more than basic calculations and exports: you may want to consider another piece of software. Performing complicated tasks is not what numbers is for.

### "I've used Numbers intermittently over the last 5 years."

April 30, 2018

3.0

Pros

The best thing about Numbers, both interface-wise / user-experience wise and output-wise, is it's aesthetically pleasing. If you want to make numbers and data look cool and high tech or display data for a sexy presentation, Numbers is the way to go. You just can't have too complex of an assignment or it likely won't have capabilities that even come close to Microsoft Excel. For simpler projects and presentations, though, Numbers is the most modern and is the most design-heavy program to use when it comes to data charts, graphs, etc. The only and I mean ONLY thing Google Sheets has over Numbers is Google Sheet projects can be logged into and accessed anywhere with an internet connection where Numbers documents are files. I might use Google Sheets for a simple list or table I need to make and share with someone (i.e. party planning, event planning, etc.) but if I'm using a program for data presentation I'll always pick Numbers.

Cons

I dislike that, feature-wise, it's astronomically sub-par vs. Microsoft Excel. There's no competition. Excel is so much more complex when it comes to features, formulas, updating numbers in charts and graphs automatically, you name it. I'm actually shocked that Apple hasn't cracked it yet since they've obviously nailed it when it comes to cell phones and computers and are giving PowerPoint a run for their money with Keynote. Numbers and Pages just don't cut it and Numbers will never be used by a finance person or data analyst until hundreds of more features are added and ease of use becomes more similar to Excel since so many are used to that user-experience. Another huge issue is newer Numbers rollouts are incompatible with old Numbers documents. Even if new updates are rolled out and way more features are added or features are removed (only if problematic, though) a Numbers-made document should ALWAYS be able to open no matter what iteration of the program is out. Unless it's decades later. But 5 years later isn't acceptable.

### "What Excel needed to be"

January 19, 2022

5.0

I use Numbers for a variety of tabular data and graph creation.

Pros

It’s basically Microsoft publisher and excel in one. It allows you to create multiple tables in addition to other elements, making it easy to layout a full page with data on it. Making graphs from the data is easy too.

Cons

There is a little learning curve up front. They’ve done their best to implement how excel does most functions and such for tables, but figuring out it’s more than just a table full of data app is a bit of a different mindset.

### "The best spreadsheet out there"

October 20, 2021

A great experience, since I started using it almost two years ago I have no complaints

Pros

The interface is beautiful and fancy, it's so intuitive and easy to use, anyone can sit down and use Numbers without having any prior knowledge. Like everything from Apple, it has great stability and performance. It also has very good and varied templates to choose from.

Cons

I honestly have no points to criticize Numbers.

### "Numbers Review"

March 9, 2019

one of the business problems I am able to resolve using Numbers app is that I can project how much I need to save to start my future business soon, Numbers app shows me how much to save per month to reach my goal of savings towards the end of the year. I highly recommend users to utilize Numbers app if they have Apple devices and its free does not hurt to use or even test it out.

Pros

Numbers is an app within Apple IOS software that runs on MAC, iPhone, and iPad devices. Numbers App is designed to create charts, graphs, and other pages that display data based on the users input. I specifically use numbers app for calculating savings over period of time. I have been using number app for a few years now and it is great. The main features I like about numbers app is creating all sorts of pages, charts, graphs, and much more, I can access numbers app from any apple device I am logged into such as I have a Mac and iPhone and I can view and make changes necessary. Numbers app has a lot to offer and its is free it come with the IOS software.

Cons

I wish numbers app would be available on other platforms such as windows, or android device.

### "Excel for those right brainers "

April 23, 2019

5.0

I track all my project databases in numbers. I'm the only Mac user and the only one using my database so it makes it very seamless. I also can share with my co workers in .excel if need be.

Pros

Well my title says it. I'm a graphic designer. As such Excel gives me a headache. Numbers is a much simpler cleaner interface. I use spreadsheets in an extremely simplistic and basic format. Tracking projects numbers, print orders and occasionally variable CSV data for business cards and such. In my limited spreadsheet experience I have yet to run into anything numbers can't do that Excel can. Maybe it's there but for my use I go to numbers every time. Same functionality simpler interface. It is also cross compatible with google docs and excel as you can import and export the same features. Love the integration with iOS as well.

Cons

Importing from .excel can occasionally cause some problems but I've only ever realized this with extremely complex documents. I feel the interface could be modernized a bit but overall my complaints are very small and limited.

### "Easy to use without the extra cost"

April 9, 2024

Overall the experience with numbers has been great. As it comes free with macOS you can't complain too much, it does a lot of whats needed.

Pros

It comes free when you purchase a Mac. No need to go out and buy Excel if you don't need the additional features/ functionality and are looking for something straight forward.

Cons

Features and functionality is behind excel for sure, but it depends on what you need.

### "Numbers it is more than your usual spreadsheet"

March 21, 2022

5.0

I love Numbers, more than a spreadsheet, it is designed to get involved in your general life. I started to use it just for work but now I've found it pretty useful to keep organized my life. It cost me a bit to learn all the tools but now I'm creating more and more, saving me time that I can use now for better and more enjoyable activities

Pros

I love the diversity of preformulated spreadsheets. I can use it beyond my job and create a routine for my daily needs and expenses. The creation of new formats, and formulas is easy and very intuitive. It has many tools and options not just related to the style and general format but for automatization and simple programming.

Cons

It is a bit complicated to get used to how it works. It requires more training time but is totally worth it.

### "Good Enough as Free Tool... Excel Still Better"

December 26, 2019

5.0

If you need just the basics and don't have access to Excel and are an avid Mac fan, then Numbers will work just fine. It takes some getting used to for some simple operations like adding rows, cut and paste etc. But over time you'll be able to get everything completed. However, if you're very comfortable with Excel then I'd recommend sticking with that tool vs. trying to switch. Numbers is just very unnatural to transition to for Excel users for things simple things like equations, charts, and pivot tables.

Pros

As an Apple user its nice to have a decent spreadsheet tool for free or included with my laptop. It has all the basic functions and equations available, pivot tables, inserting charts etc. All of those capabilities are there. Also - as is typical for Apple products, the user interface is elegant and polished which makes the tool more inviting to use.

Cons

The big challenge though is that as an Excel power user its often challenging to figure out how to do the same functions and capabilities with Numbers. 95% of the time I'm able to accomplish the same things but it often requires research online or through tutorials to figure it out.

### "Excellent for presentations"

October 19, 2018

5.0

Pros

As a Mac user, I am quite used to using Numbers for pretty much anything. It has an easy to use interface, fun and colorful templates, clean and sharp presentation. It is a user friendly application that can be accessed through the computer and through the app. My favorite thing about Numbers is that my presentations looked their best with all of the Numbers templates.

Cons

There are two things that always get to me about Numbers. The first one is that, even though the app for mobile devices is great, it is a bit hard to manipulate and do many things through the app. The next and perhaps the most important is that if you are a frequent user of spreadsheets, Numbers is not the best.

### "DOES THE JOB"

December 6, 2019

4.0

My overall experience is positive. The mobile app works great and as advertised. Apple keeps adding features to Numbers and if you want to learn about it's functionality, it may be a surprise gem for someone. I'm a basic spreadsheet user and it works just fine.

Pros

Numbers is convenient for us Mac users. It's free and similar to use like Excel. Apple has brought Numbers a long way since it first came out. It works seamlessly between Apple devices. For us, it does the job for basic spreadsheet tasks.

Cons

It's not Excel. Excel is a well oiled machine and Numbers is not there. I number one gripe is that it does not always work well with Excel in terms of format. If you are advanced with spreadsheets, you may want to look elsewhere.

### "Spead sheets with privacy and lock, Best tool from Apple!"

February 16, 2022

5.0

I specifically shifted to Numbers as it was built in my iPad and also it had the option to lock it via password. I used it to mark my student's performance. And it served the best purpose.

Pros

There are numerous reasons to like this Software, I love the way they give the feature of securing the individual sheet via password (PIN, Password, Face ID, etc.). Also, managing the row with the data format is amazing (Like a Date, money, email, or even phone number ) each field has custom data types that can be easily filled. Awesome gestures to use the functions like AVG, SUM, MEAN, etc. with swipe selection.

Cons

There is no such con with the Numbers application. But for non-mac/iPhone users it can be Lil tricky as it may not sync well with other formats like that of Google Sheets of MS Excel. But with continual usage, functions and buttons will be found right in front of eyes.

### "Free Mac software for users to keep data organized in spreadsheets."

I keep all P&L sheets in Numbers, so I'm able to see all financial details at a bird's eye view.

Pros

I keep all my businesses' P&L sheets in Numbers. I can easily add information, export files for delivery to my business partners, and it's free on my apple computer.

Cons

### "For packaged software, it's great!"

November 11, 2019

5.0

My overall experience was great! It came packaged on my Mac computer, so you really can't beat it! Plus, it is integrated with the overall Mac/iOS ecosystem and the iCloud system quite well!

Pros

You can't really beat Numbers because it typically comes packaged onto a new Mac computer -- and it's a great piece of software for individuals and businesses alike to manage their spreadsheet-related needs. Numbers performs the basic functionalities quite well and the design/UI is particularly impressive -- it makes me want to continue using the software because it looks so great on Mac displays!

Cons

I don't like that there aren't nearly as many functions as more advanced spreadsheet management software like Microsoft Excel. And, because it isn't nearly as widely-used, it does take quite a bit of getting used to as some of the functions it does have aren't very intuitive.

### "Review for Numbers"

February 1, 2020

3.0

Overall I can state that Numbers is very good spreadsheet program for making diagrams and graphs, but if you want to do comlex financial and statistical analysis then it is not suitable for you

Pros

Numbers is very easy to use. It's interface is very user-friendly. You can easily understand this program and basic features. Also the the graphs and diagrams in Numbers are much better compared to Excel. So if you want to include your graphs in your presentation slides Numbers is the program you need.

Cons

There are some major disadvantages in Numbers. First it can not do complex financial analysis (which you might need in you job) . Also in terms of functionality you can never compare Numbers with Excel, as Excel is much more complex has has more advanced features. Also if you transfer your Number spreadsheet to Excel your functions, style of numbers and letters are likely to be changed. That is why using Numbers is only comfortable when you are presenting on Macbook. Also as the 95% of the computer users have Excels you feel a little bit "lonely"

### "Numbers Gives Excel Some Real Competition"

April 25, 2019

5.0

Pros

If you're a Mac user who is struggling to survive without Microsoft Excel in your life, you can stop worrying. Numbers might be new to the spreadsheet game but the appealing visual designs and graphic elements make this program a force to be reckoned with. Numbers is much easier to use, even for a novice like myself. My wife and I used Numbers templates to create multiple tables and charts in one page for our wedding budget spreadsheet. And we could not have been happier. The ability to use Numbers through the iPhone and iPad allows you to work on-the-go while also collaborating with users (in my case, my wife!).

Cons

For all of the program's bells and whistles, it still struggles from an advanced technical standpoint. Numbers is still playing catch-up with older programs like Excel when it comes to financial and scientific work. Formulas are harder to create in Numbers than Excel. For school projects, I would recommend Numbers. But for IT and accounting departments, Excel is still the way to go.

Cons

Number is a powerful spreadsheet tool for Apple system but not as powerful as excel and it is compatible with MS Excel, easy to make data into graphs, very useful share sheets between Apple users. In other words, it is very stable, ease of use for macOS users and data security.

Pros

Numbers is a very good spreadsheet software created for Apple ecosystem, where an user can continue the work from mac desktop to even in Apple mobile.

Cons

### "Numbers is Great"

January 8, 2020

4.0

I'm truly used to using Google Sheets, so I had to get used to Numbers when things got switched up around here.

Pros

I love that it's an Apple product and therefore beautiful and easy to use. It came for free with my MacBook, which is really nice. Good features, easy to use. I don't need to pay for it like I would need to pay for Excel. Also, my manager is a PC user - he uses Excel - and I use a Mac, but that hasn't made any difference.

Cons

I don't like that each row isn't numbered the way they are in Google Sheets. I miss that, but it's not a game changer.
