IT Director Religious Institutions Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Rock solid but a bit of work" July 27, 2025 4.0 Mostly positive. It's very stable and usually does a very good job. Good documentation, easy for end users. Kind of a lot of work weekly for staff to program in all the new content. Pros The UI is mostly easy to understand for typical operation - you either tap space bar to proceed to the next slide or click on the slide you want to jump to. Cons Occasional issues with systems that are left on for prolonged periods like the display screen doesn't want to work till you close and reopen the App or reboot the computer. Risk averse Admins will want to postpone Updates but the program will constantly ask if you want to install the updates so "helpful" operators may install them anyways, either on purpose or accident. Some of the UI isn't so simple to understand without reading the documentation (but the documentation is excellent and easy to read). March 1, 2025 5.0 I have been using this program for over two years, and it continues to be updated, bringing great satisfaction with its features. Pros I love this program because it is the most powerful tool for managing all aspects of worship services in a church. It is fundamentally easy to use, includes all the features I need, and is designed with every function necessary for preparing and running worship services or performances. Cons Although the program is built for easy operation, it still requires practice to master. The more features it has, the better understanding you need to utilize them effectively. Although setting up a service can sometimes be challenging, once it is setup, even an inexperienced operator can run the service. Pros Propresenter allows us to build the service and use macros to control features like lighting and sound. Cons Upgrades sometimes introduce issues that are hard to work around but new features are often worth the headaches. Just don't upgrade right before a service. While each individual feature is sufficiently documented, which features to use as well as how to use them took time as well as trial and error. An external tool (e.g., web app) that allows one to specify what they wish to accomplish and produces a baseline configuration and playlist template with supporting documentation would be welcomed. After using ProPresenter for six weeks, I can now create a weekly service playlist in ten minutes. Since we also stream from ProPresenter, we only need one volunteer to operate ProPresenter. Formally, we needed one operator to run our presentation software and another to run our streaming software. This allowed us to start a graphics design team to better use the gifts and talents of our volunteers. Pros It is very powerful and can do almost anything you want. It offers great flexibility in terms of physical displays, virtual displays, audio routing. Once understood the looks feature and themes are fairly easy to use. I also like ProPresenter/MultiTracks integration and automation. Cons The biggest feature that ProPresenter lacks is fool-proof collaboration. If multiple people are creating a playlist (e.g., a weekly Sunday service), then they must be very careful in merging their efforts into a single master. I know such a fully automatic synchronization feature would be challenging to implement well. However, it would be very welcomed. Perhaps a next step is a semi-automated process. For example, before synchronizing ProPresenter could analyze the contents of the collaborators' repositories, present a difference report, and allow the user to specify which synchronization options to allow to the master. While not fully automated, this would be more helpful than the current implementation. Director Computer Software Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Great for complex playlists but requires hardware to match" December 26, 2024 5.0 It was a great experience with my laptop that had good performance characteristics. I had to export and import a concert playlist into the venue computers at certain locations and this caused problems with the venue computer crashing in the middle of the performance. I had to restart the computer on several occasions - and find my place again in the performance when it came back up. Pros Easily group together multiple media types into a cohesive presentation for a fuller audience experience. Cons I found it difficult to quickly apply changes to all presentations in the playlist for a concert. Sometimes we had to adjust for the position of the projector and screen in different venue and making theme adjusts required me to manually reapply the theme to indvidual slides in each presentation. This was very cumbersome. Relatively easy to set up basics, more complicated to understand subtleties Pros Its ease of use, being able to broadcast to so many different views at the same time. Cons It takes a bit of training/use to really operate some basics. August 5, 2025 5.0 Proprsenter is a complicated software with many features, yet it is simple enough the volunteers can run the presentation on Sunday morning. Pros Propresenter allows our church to run presentations seamlessly every week. There are so many features that are VERY customizable to anything we may need. It’s also helpful to be able to control so many things from one software - ex. livestream, main screen, lower thirds, decorative LEDs, etc. Cons I wish that propresenter could be accessed through a web browser so that it could be edited from any computer - even if the software wasn’t downloaded. When we switched over from our previous presentation software it was an immediate improvement in our experience (both from the congregational standpoint and that of the operators). Renewed Vision has provided plenty of help with YouTube videos when I don't quite know how to do something. Pros The ease of use with presentation software is paramount. Training volunteers to operate this software in tandem a presentation is very simple. Cons If I HAD to pick something here I'd say that triggering certain elements (countdowns and such) using calendar has been a bit of a task since version 7 was released. I figured out a workaround, but it's difficult to explain to someone not as experienced with the software. They use your terminology without explaining what it means. Pros The flexibility to use a little or a lot of the features, great designed product. Cons The cost is high for smaller congregations, it would be nice to have options for getting lower pricing for just certain pieces of the product. I like that we can train our volunteers on the basics quickly and then help them to develop skill with the mor complex stuff as we go. We have kids helping (part of our investment in future volunteers in sound/projection) and they can advance slides and do the basic stuff well under supervision and learn more as they do. Pros The ease with which we can set up a set for Sunday worship. We have a set for each week of the month and can change the content quickly and easily, especially with the connection to Song Select. Cons We have issues occasionally with the program changing the screen setup taking time to figure out what to do to get things back. It may be as much a Windows thing as a ProPresenter thing though. Cons I typically use ProPresenter on the back end, setting up the technical side of things. So, as far as building presentations, I know just enough to be dangerous. I sometimes struggle with the intuitive side of building a new playlist. I just need to work with it more and I'll be better at it. Pros The feature I like most is the preview feature on the bottom of the stage monitor setting so I know what verse or words are on my next slide. Cons As a pastor using this program it's a challenge. Sometimes I am working slide 15 and I do something an it jumps to slide 1 or another location. Also, you can now not preview your slideshow without a subscription, we have a subscription for our worship center but why do I need one to build my presentation. The addition of broadcast support is nice. This program would not be useable by our church if it were not for the incredibly fantastic customer support. I've had a couple of strange problems and tech support figured it on in online chat sessions and using remote software to work with my computer. They are the best with support. Pros Very powerful and flexible program that also supports broadcast now. Customer support is excellent - without this support this would be a hard program to use in smaller organizations. Cons Perhaps just one thing, it's a biggie, but just one thing...ProPresenter is so big that its sometimes hard to figure things out until I get the right phrasing on youtube then its just a little bit of watch and learn and then its onward and upward! It’s much nicer to use this as an all in one system rather than having everything separated out. I also think their customer service is some of the best in the business, they answer emails late at night, on the weekends, as well as during regular business hours. That’s going above and beyond! Cons It can be a bit confusing to show volunteers how to run the more advanced pieces of the software if they aren’t experienced. February 21, 2025 5.0 I am a volunteer in my church and this program help us in a great amount of situations, from the celebrations to the children's show or everytime we need a media support. This software is able to use two of the best technologies for streaming: NDI and Aircast. It allows to manage screens, showing different contents for the "audience" and the "stage". I would add only that there are too many features to cover all of them in a review, but I think it is the most complete software among the same category programs used for the church or worship shows. Pros I absolutely love the interface, simple but with everything you need. Cons I something noticed some bugs, but technical support fixed them in a week or less.
