Production Director Religious Institutions Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Nothing Can Hold A Candle to Propresenter " June 27, 2019 5.0 I’ve been using Propresenter since 2003 and from time to time have dabbled with other presentation software. In the end the usability and features of Propresenter has caused it to clearly stand head and shoulders above everything else. I’ve loved to see the software evolve and how Renewed Vision has listened to it’s users and made adjustments accordingly. Nothing else can hold a candle to Propresenter. Pros The ease of use is probably the best thing about Propresenter. You can practically pick it up and begin to use it right away. There are fantastic tutorial videos that give you everything you need to know but there’s also a great community and support. The other thing that I absolutely love is the expandability. In the beginning you may just need the basic functions but as your organization grows, Propresenter has all the tools needed to grow with you. Cons Honestly, most of the functions I have liked least about the software have been slowly weened out through out the year. Reason for choosing ProPresenter The reviews. Worship Pastor Religious Institutions Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Great Presentation Software" June 27, 2019 4.0 Pros What I love about Pro Presenter is its ease of use and its versatility. I also love that it seamlessly integrates with Song Select and with Planning Center which are two other resources we use in putting together our services. It also works well with PowerPoint. With a relatively small learning curve, it is easy both to put together services and to run the program during our services. Pro Presenter is able to handle any and all media (song lyric slides, videos, announcement slides, etc) we need to use during a service. It's all together in one spot and flows together smoothly. Another real plus is that we were able to buy a license for it that allows us to use it on every machine our church uses. Consequently, we can use it for children and youth ministry computers as well as Men's and Women's Ministry devices. Cons The thing I like least about Pro Presenter is that it seems to have glitches from time to time. We use it on PC computers. From what I understand, it was originally developed for the MAC platform and the occasional glitches may be related to that. Most of the time, the glitches are just slightly maddening, like the program won't open on the first try, or will shut down as I'm preparing for a service. In 4 years of using Pro Presenter, we've only had a couple more serious glitches that required the help of tech support to resolve. Review Source BP Brian P. June 27, 2019 5.0 We have a multiple screen setup in our sanctuary with two large front screens where we show announcements slides, video announcements, video packages, lyrics for our worship songs, and the teaching slides for our Pastor's sermons. We also have a rear confidence screen that divides its setup with multiple styles...as a stage display and mirroring the main screens. In addition to that we use master control to sync the content displayed on a separate teaching television for the pastor. It is controlled by our main operator but running a completely separate instance of ProPresenter on a second computer. We found that it works much better than two operators trying to stay in sync. Also, in our streaming room we use yet another instance of ProPresenter to provide another format for our online audience and foyer televisions. Basically, if it's presentation related then we use ProPresenter and could not be happier with it's form, function, reliability, value, and support. Pros Simple setup and operation, great modules for extensive setups (i.e. Master Control,Multi-Screen,SDI Output,Communication, and Midi...we use them all ), intuitive interface, works on a multitude of platforms with no issues. Clean presentation to our congregation on the main screens and stage display for our Worship team. Cons There's not many cons for us. We love Pro Presenter! Pros I love that Pro Presenter has the ability to not only service our in-person worship services, but also serve those who are joining us online. It is a powerful software that enables us to do multiple things at one time. Cons So far we are finding it difficult to transfer our old library of songs and media elements from Easy Worship to Pro Presenter. Once we get past this however everything else should run smoothly. Pro Presenter was no exception but a bit more intuitive. We are really still learning what we can and can't do with this product. But much of this will depend on your aptitude. While the software works for what we need, there are pain-points that need to be addressed. Pros It is a professional presentation solution. We use it for lower third text boxes as well as video playback. It gets the job done fairly well for what we usually need. Cons There are a few pain points in the software. Moving a presentation from one computer to another seems easy enough, however the order of slides, as well as in/out markers for videos need to be reset on the new computer. This makes it pretty much useless to pre-build the presentations on, say a laptop, and then move it to the computer that will be presenting it. Another pain point is that external links are not allowed. Now, to be fair, we have not tried this in a few years as when we needed it, it was not available and so have a work-around in place. A third pain point (and this is where I grieve the most) is in the ridiculous amount of system resources this software takes! I cannot reliably run it on a machine with 4GB of RAM. Other presentation software (Powerpoint and Keynote for example) do not require NEAR the resources that this beast does. Review Source RA Robynn A. Pros Ease of use, simple GUI. Inclusion of simple graphics architecture for slide design. Like the abilities for web, youtube, live vid feed, background vids, etc. Cons Some buggy issues - if you use a line break (aka, hit return to force text onto next line), then typography leading controls (vertical spacing between rows of text) no longer work - and in some cases, the vertical spacing will be inconsistent within a single slide. Library/Shared Folders/Cloud/Pro sync creates multiple duplicate files... it's a nightmare....I have iterations of the original creation, then an iteration with - "\*filename\*-Media Laptop Pro"... When fonts cycle in and out for Adobe Suite monthly subscription - this can wreak havoc on text layout in slides that have been saved in the library. Developers should really address a font library that is static and part of the core of the program - and/or provide some sort of icon in GUI that delineates a font that is static from those that may rotate out of availability (aka, TypeKit, Adobe fonts, etc) so there is awareness when designing scripture, lyric or announcement text layouts. Developers also should be aware - when there is a DVD that is played through program with a reactive, embedded menu, there exists the possibility of stopping and closing the window, which renders the program unresponsive (presumably because it is seeking input from DVD control overlay) - and a close and restart must occur to return to service slides. AV Specialist Online Media Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Great for All Sorts of Meetings" June 26, 2019 4.0 We run different meetings / conferences where we need to put images, videos, and countdowns on the screen. Also the built in audio player is great for things like pre-recorded introductions or music to play while speakers come and go from stage. It's nice you can do all you need from one piece of software. Pros Loved the ability to easily over-lay texts and images over backgrounds and videos. Many features that allow you to control each piece of content. e.g. adjust the volume for a specific video, change a video to start and stop at a certain spot when played (great for those videos that have 5-10 seconds of nothing at the beginning or end). Cons We don't use any of the modules so I can't speak for those but all in all I don't have a lot of complaints. I use the software on a Mac and it works just as you'd expect. I will say if you are using a PC you will most likely want to find some other software. Can't give any recommendations but the software tends to be buggy on a PC. Not sure if it's a bad port or just not as much fine tuning put in. Seems most churches use Mac's so they are hitting their target audience pretty well. One other gripe. The web browser built into the software isn't very good. This is something I rarely need to use but when I do I find myself likely to just use a physical switcher to switch to another machine that has a web browser open vs. trying to use the browser within pro-presenter. The built is browser is great if you just want to show a webpage but if you have plans to scroll thru it or navigate it I would suggest just throwing a real browser up on the screen and turning off pro-presenters output. A large upgrade over the software we used previously. I would recommend this product to anyone that needs professional presentation software for church or company use. Pros It is simple to use, we can train almost anyone to run the software. It is easy to setup and manage. It runs all common media files with ease. It's easy and quick to setup new presentations. Cons Stage display could use more customization. It works well but I think they could add some additional features in order to display exactly what we need. I'd love to be able to have it set to show slides without the background. You can do that now, but it won't keep the same formatting as the slide. We have to use "static" but it keeps the background on the first slide of each document. It would also be nice to be able to show only the first line of the next slide- without having to move the next slide off the screen. February 19, 2020 5.0 I personally use ProPresenter in my weekly teen service. It allows me to easily have song lyrics, graphics for every part of the service, videos to show, and notes for my sermon -- and all of that is either run from the remote on my phone or a teenager simply clicking to advance. Once the work is done ahead of time to set up the service, it is so simple. You'll love this product! Pros ProPresenter is a powerful piece of software that is easy for every individual to use. Once you set up your service, almost anyone can run the software. It is a powerful tool that allows you to incorporate many different types of media easily into your service. The confidence monitor tool for those on stage to utilize is a huge bonus as well. I can't brag on ProPresenter enough. Cons Honestly, I have no complaints about ProPresenter. It's easy to use and looks very professional. Pros The software is easy to use from the outset. I don't think as a customer I use it for it original purpose. Initially I purchased it as a temporary measure between a hardware upgrade of a Big Screen at soccer stadium in England. We created a scoreboard, live feed and advertising space within the software. We created workarounds for it such as an Alpha Channel clock that goes from 0 - 90 mins for example After the upgrade was completed, I used for my own professional use at Awards Ceremonies. It's perfect for advertising, moving backgrounds, music, tweet display. Great value for money. What I like most :- Customisable tool bar Hot folders are brilliant Output toggle is a life saver Online help is great, fast response with emails, YouTube tutorials. The ability to download a watermarked free version off the internet. This allows different people to create, rehearse and test content on different computers before using on the registered computer at the venue. Cons Editor is a bit cumbersome - its OK once you have a template, but we created most content in Photoshop and imported it all in. Importing PNG's into the editor are not scaled to the frame size. So we had to type in the properties to make the files each screen fit - its not end of the world, but you have to make time if you are importing hundreds of files. It's been great, and Renewed Vision continues their development to make it even better! Pros While there can be a fair amount of setup involved depending on your needs, once set up it fits into the definition of "it just works" (particularly on Mac). It has all the functionality you could need or want for worship services and events, and consistently does what it's suppose to do - and looks good doing it! We use NDI to send text over to ProVideoPlayer and the relationship between those two is just flawless. We also really like the automation (communication module) functions using MIDI and DMX. Cons I found the cost of the alpha keyer module to be excessive for a software feature option (although I paid it because it did what we needed done), and it would be helpful if the Planning Center integration could be a bit more smooth - possibly provide options to utilize PCOs lyrics function to make it easier to match sequences, and sync PCO Media items into a playlist without it trying to re-download everything every time. Those are definitely wants, not needs, and it's hard to say how much of the limitation is ProPresenter and how much is what the PCO API will support. Review Source PT Patrick T. Over my years of working with the software, any bugs I've encountered have been patched out in future updates so I have no hesitation to recommend everyone use ProPresenter. Pros I have yet to throw a task at ProPresenter that it couldn't handle. From its ease of use when editing slides, to the ability to work seamlessly with any number of video outputs, ProPresenter is simply the best presentation software you can find. I especially appreciate the "arrangments" feature which greatly increases productivity. Cons My only real complaint about ProPresenter is the fact they removed support for social media integrations. In the previous version, you could include realtime images and text from Twitter and Facebook but they have since removed the feature. Whenever I had troubles activating my license customer service was quick to respond and when I needed assistance connecting my CCLI license they were extremely helpful. The fact that it is so widely used means that there are tons of resources online when I have a question or difficulty with what I am trying to achieve. Like I said previously, using PP has allowed me to consolidate multiple computers and software tools into one and make my workflow faster and easier. Pros The ease of use AFTER setup is my favorite part of the software. While there is a slight learning curve, the cleanliness and overall functionality whenever you open up the app makes it worth the effort to learn the software in the beginning. I love the new integration with Resi and livestreaming directly from the software. In my situation, I had to use multiple computers to run different pieces of software but ProPresenter has allowed me to consolidated multiple jobs into one computer with one operator. Lastly, in all of the years I have used PP, it has always looked clean, professional, and run smoothly without any bugs. Cons My least favorite part about the software is when you have to first build your slides and presentations. The interface, while intuitive, is not as similar to other presentation tools as one might assume and makes the first setup somewhat time consuming. Simple and robust solution allows us to communicate and inspire people from beginning to end. Pros ProPresenter is the most straight forward solution that allows the public presentation workflow that we rely on to function simply. From monitors with greetings and announcements around our building, alerting people to current needs (nursery, worker requests, etc...) to the service and presentation of slides and motion backgrounds during worship and preaching...the platform is very flexible. To do most of the multi-screen presentations you need to upgrade to an auxiliary feature license which takes the solution into the higher priced category of products. Integration into all primary social media and resource libraries for our venue is what we needed. Cons The only major drawback to the actual functionality of the product is the way it uses resources on the computer. It is very resource hungry and will push the limits of systems. However, that being said, it is worth it. The financial side of the add-on features is another major consideration one has to think through when purchasing the product. If you are using one computer and one screen: out of the box functionality is there. If you need multi-screen, at a bare minimum, there is a license to purchase. Consider this in your budgeting when comparing to other solutions. Reason for choosing ProPresenter ProPresenter was the most talked about and referenced in the industry and I prefer to use top-tier solutions for support and maintenance reasons after the sale. There are so many options available to setup the ideal presentation. Projection can be distracting, but with ProPresenter projection just blends in to each service. ProPresenter paired with Resi makes Live Stream work perfectly everytime. No more buffering or distracting pauses during the live stream services. Cons There is a learning curve to overcome with ProPresenter. It is not something you install on Saturday and use on Sunday. Be prepared to learn and train on the software prior to using it live. The system is fully customizable to each room, while maintaining a standard workflow that's easy to teach to anyone needing to use it. The functionality of ProPresenter as a manned presentation system is far superior to anything else I've seen on the market. ProPresenter is definitely our go to presentation solution. Pros The software is easy to learn and easy to use. We have a lot of volunteers and we are able to have them running the software on their own within the first one to two times they work with us. It can be run by a beginner, and also has the capability of much more advanced functionality. Cons The software has had some issues that caused it to crash during a presentation in the past. We have also experienced some times when the slide transitions have not been smooth. The web viewer functionality is really clunky and sometimes does not work properly. Pros I love how easy to use it is and how intuitive it is, and if I don't know how to do something, they have tutorials for anything and everything you like to do with the software. I know it's mainly design and used in churches, but I think it can be very successful in the business world as well. Cons Since I'm in charge of a worship service at a church, I get a lot of last-minute requests as the pastors get inspired three minutes before the church service. I wish pro presenter had more capabilities with video, being able to do video edits on the fly would be great. I can choose the end and out time, but that's about it with video. ProPresenter does an excellent job of capturing the full sphere of what a media team may need to do and cleanly integrating the functionality into their core product. The latest releases began to include "exclusive" extra features into the core product, which makes the product even more appealing. Cons With so many features, it can be overwhelming to jump into the product before learning the core functionality.
