The app has under gone many updates which has made the app more user friendly. I couldn't see myself using anything else. Pros It is fun to use. It make it easy to make simple last minute adjusts to slides when needed. The quick edit feature is a life savor. Cons Formatting slides can take a while sometimes. If you encounter a formatting error with little time to repair your kind of stuck. Review Source MG Martin G. Sadly, we use sync every week and I can't count the number of times our users have contacted me due to their struggles. Pros Setting up song lyrics and using in conjunction with Song Select works pretty well. We use the arrangement functionality for every song for the contemporary service. For traditional hymns we don't find arrangements necessary. It's nice to have the option when we need it and to not confuse those who don't need it. Our prior software would occasionally crash during a service, but we've never had that kind of issue with ProPresenter running on our Mac Minis. We really like using a stage display in addition to the regular output. Our team really appreciates it. Cons We often have trouble playing videos within ProPresenter. The audio sometimes cuts out or gets out of sync. The same video played on the same Mac with QuickTime or VLC works fine. We subscribe to Cloud Sync and it often has problems. Sometimes it just won't sync things, and other times it syncs way too much (as evidenced in the log) and takes way too long. In addition, we often get errors while syncing talking about "another process has changed a file" and the choices offered to resolve it are confusing to most of our users. Campus Pastor Religious Institutions Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Love what ProP can do" June 28, 2019 4.0 We are a church with multiple services in multiple locations. With the sync (ProCloud) option we are able to keep things up to date everywhere which is very beneficial. Plus we do a God In The Movies series and being able to adjust clips on the fly from within the program is making life a lot easier. Pros The ability to use content between multiple locations and various sizes of screen is huge for us. Very robust product that we probably only use about 1/10th of. Stable build - with only rare crashes (maybe 2 in 4 years) it is one of the most stable presentation software products I've ever used with this range of abilities. Cons Lack of immediate phone support on Sundays - when things go sideways you are basically on your own other than email responses. Doesn't help much when we are dealing with immediate issues. Can be overwhelming for new staff/volunteers to utilize because it is so robust. " March 20, 2022 4.0 I would say overall its a great piece of software and I have been incredibly impressed with it. I like how stable it is, I have never had a computer crash because of it. I am currently considering expanding my use of it because of its reliability. Pros This product is very easy to deploy and start using. Whether you already have plenty of content or need to make it Pro-presenter allows you to get up and started very easily. I would say there really isn't a similar product in the market that allows you to do as much as pro-presented does right now at its price point. Cons SO while the main front facing user features are incredibly easy to get started and learn. Some settings are more difficult to find. I often have students and occasional users working with propresenter. Occasionally something occurs that they dont know how to fix and can't figure out where to go to fix it. I would like to see the settings more clearly labled and accessable. SOme things are found under preferences and others are in other tabs. June 27, 2019 5.0 From a multi campus, and a multi room facility perspective, its the best presentation software I have ever used. I love that with a campus license I can have it on as many computers a I need, and they will all work the same. If I train a ministry partner or a volunteer on one computer, they can go be a help, and a resource to any other room, or campus. With being a church our size, we tend to host a lot of bigger events like concerts, conferences and performances. I never have to worry about how visually taxing the event is going to be. With ProPresenter I know its going to work every time, and its going to look good and allow us to be creative. Since day one with ProPresenter I have continued to be impressed with the tweaks in software, and additional features they add on a regular basis. Whenever someone is asking me about presentation software, I always point them to ProPresenter. I have gotten to meet and sit down with some of the Renewed Vision folks personally, and they are just a great team, with solid ideas, and a great support staff. Pros It's ability to be easily deployed in almost any environment is a huge plus. Having multiple computers running ProPresenter at a time, all for the same production or church service, works great! I am always impressed by the amount of plugins and features that the software offers to make almost any project possible. Cons Honestly there isn't much to complain about. If I had to say one thing I didn't like, it might be that it can be a little hardware taxing. With newer versions of the software it has been improving ten fold! (and sometimes awful)" July 12, 2019 4.0 My overall experience has been really positive and wouldn't pick anything for our current church context but would have to strongly re-consider for a smaller, leaner church start. Pros ProPresenter is incredibly robust and leaves little need to use any auxiliary programs to flesh it out. For example, it's connected to SongSelect which is incredibly helpful in loading song lyrics on the fly. It directly connects to Planning Center Online, so you can import services directly into it with out leaving ProPresenter. It has live social media display options. It has remote services. It is literally a buffet of functionality. Cons What makes it great is literally how much is available, but that is also it's biggest weakness. The learning curve is steep for untrained users. It doesn't correlate to other products well, so previous experience is borderline useless. It can also feel incredibly bloated as a piece of software. It hogs RAM (more with every update) and even after 7 years of using it, there are still issues with crashing. Not regularly, but never at a convenient time! lol Given the price, it works for my context that I serve in currently (a mid size church) but as I look at a mission start, I'm already having to consider leaner cheaper options that don't require the upfront investment to get it running. A lean version or cloud based version of ProPresenter would be amazing for small churches stepping in that could then transition to the full software once they grow into it. More than are really necessary for our purposes. Everything about how easy it is to make our displays flow has dramatically improved the quality of our services. ESPECIALLY Planning Center Integration. Our band director arranges his songs in Planning Center to communicate with the band, then I can import his arrangements and details directly into ProPresenter as ready-built presentations and services. From there, constructing the rest of the service is super easy. Including being able to import Bible Verses directly from the built-in Bibles. Whenever I'm not personally able to run the presentation during service, the running portion is as easy as pressing the "space" bar as necessary. All of the setup is completed beforehand. Not to mention any important announcements can be quickly broadcast as necessary. (i.e. nursery announcements​...) Pros Integration with Planning Center, CCLI, built-in Bibles, PowerPoint, and more Stage Display keeps the presenters informed about what's next, lyrics, notes, time, or anything else necessary to the service. Control over every aspect of what's broadcast to the displays, how long a slide appears, any music cues that go along with it, videos, lyrics, animated backgrounds, and text, and more A powerful slide editor allows for simply importing your own image or building one within ProPresenter Building a service flow is intuitive. Individual service elements are built, then the service is arranged by dragging and dropping elements into the service flow. Including specific arrangements of songs. Cons There is a steep learning curve that prevented me from giving it 5 stars, but the wealth of tutorials​ and ease of access to these resources for improving your ProPresenter skill prevented me from giving 3 stars. It has full functionality for low-level techies like me but has many features open to the more tech savvy like my tech lead. Pros Once it’s installed, everyday use is a breeze. Preparing playlists, inserting backgrounds, etc. is as easy as drag and drop. Lots of features can be incorporated or you cN keep it simple. The preview screen is great. Importing and reflowing content is simple. Especially compared to other similar apps, PP6 is very stable, especially on a Mac, but it works well on a PC as well. Their tutorials are great, too. Cons The formatting is rather limited, especially when importing from PowerPoint. It’s better to build the presentation in ProPresenter in many cases. Fonts don’t always translate, and sometimes the displays are a bit challenging to troubleshoot. Reason for choosing ProPresenter I wasn't part of the decision making process, but I have listened to many guys comparing and preferring PP6 over others; while it is a bit more expensive its features and reliability have been proven to be well worth the one short term investment. Pros Sleek design, many opportunities for a more professional look of your show. Cons We upgraded from Propresenter 5 to 6, and that has been a struggle since. Our cloud storage doesn't work any longer. The song library is extremely slow in version 6. Drag and drop with mouse takes sometimes many attempts, to get it to react. The design tool for making text arrangements/slides are pain in the a... Try to move a text a few pixel.... Everything moves of doesn't fit any longer. Oh dear I am all ready having a headache on its way, and that's is just for thinking how bad it is. The support at propresenter had not resolved a single of our problems since we upgraded from version 5 to 6. Everytime we get in contact with them, it ends up at the same place as we began. Or we are promised that they will work on it and contact us later, we won't hear anything unless we write to them, and they tell after a year, that there is no news. Weekend services rely on the use of this product, so we can have words to music and the weekend message (notes/outline), and function as a music team! Pros We've used ProPresenter for years at our church. It's biggest use is for our weekend services (as well as weekly for youth group) to project words for our music. Our team is on it daily, creating and uploading each service. We also use it if we have conferences or meetings to project notes on the screens, etc. It's easy to use with lots of features to make our experience the best it can be! Cons I can't speak much into the cons as I've never used anything else (I've only known this software for our organization), and our team utilizes it way more than I do. It has great multi screen ability. Pros It is great for handling video and multi video output and presenting for worship services. Cons This has been a real challenge when leaving Easy Worship on a PC. It may be intuitive for a MAC user. However, being historically a PC user, this transition has been difficult. We really miss the ability to directly use PowerPoint presentations with this software. It has also been a challenge melding Youtube files in with it. It's intuitive, understands the needs of customers, and is totally modular and customizable. I have rarely experienced issues with it, and when an issue arose, Renewed Vision customer service is top notch. Pros Flexibility. ProPresenter has so many user-editable features and design components that allow the end-user to customize the entire presentation (including the GUI), so that the software does exactly what they want it to do. And, it's totally easy to understand and operate - even if you aren't good with technology. Cons It can get expensive. If you're anywhere beyond needing three screens, additional modules will need to be purchased. If you're looking to cover a multitude of screens, or one ultra-wide aspect ratio screen, the need for additional hardware and licenses is necessary. Standalone, this product is great for most users - but users with a menagerie of screens that need filling will have to pay extra. Pros ProPresenter is the defacto choice for media presentation across any organization. I have used it for over 10 years now and I can say it has grown to be a very robust and feature rich media suite. Now that it is both windows and Mac capable with a site license you can get your whole staff on any computer to create presentations that are great looking and easy to display. Cons ProPresenter is feature rich, however it can be a bit overwhelming at first. The learning curve is steep but manageable. There are lots of videos to view that can help you get the hang of this big but amazing program. Reason for choosing ProPresenter One only needs to look at the program to see that it’s special, it is great looking and well engineered software package. Each version got bettered better. There are some features we don't use. And some features we use each week, like countdowns, looping videos and images, and moving backgrounds. In the end, even though this software was orignally designed for Mac, and the early versions had bugs for PC, with version 6 we are confident that we will have a quality presentation every week. Pros Once you get things setup (songs entered, sermon powerpoint, video clips, backgrounds, etc) and ready to be used in the bins, the software doesn't require a lot of training to use. This week we had a brand new person in the booth run the entire service with 10 minutes of training. (last minute emergency pulled the scheduled person away). You can mix and match backgrounds. Both static images and moving backgrounds You can create the sermon powerpoint right in the software, or import .ppt Once you enter a song, you don't have to click save, it automatically saves. Cons We have had minor issues with .ppt fonts not showing up correctly, or items not in the correct places on the slides. Some installed fonts slow down a song slide (special brushed looking fonts). And on PC it doesn't always like .mov movie files (so its best to use .mp4 or .mpg). Reason for choosing ProPresenter Motion Backgrounds, countdowns, and ease of use. Technical Director Media Production Used the software for: 2+ years ### "ProPresenter - Good software for a very specific market" June 26, 2019 3.0 We use it in a church setting primarily for displaying live lyrics during worship and displaying verses live as called out by the speaker (scriptures not given in advance). The inability to look up scripture by book and/or chapter is a constant source of frustration given the fact that looking up scriptures given live is how the product is used 99% of the time for us. The seemingly minor UI glitches (pixel-accurate requirement to select scroll bars/window positioning, up arrow moving the selection DOWN, etc.) make using the product annoying for experienced users and downright frustrating for new trainees. Pros I like the automatic formatting, layout and wrapping of text to fit a defined space for displaying lyrics and verses. Arrangement layout and timing cues are very helpful for lyric slides. It is easy to get basic images on-screen. Remote control is useful. Cons There are many use cases and features that are not supported by the software (i.e. verse search by book or chapter); poor formatting of verse text in the application window (not the display output) makes it difficult to follow along when using it live; changing translations causes a different verse to be selected based on how the text wraps (it is not designed for 'live' use); both the down and up arrows advance the selection DOWN (very poor user experience), cost of SDI/alpha module twice the cost of the original product, on top of the hardware required; no anti-aliasing option results in jagged text at output. We use this software every single time we meet. We have it set up in our main sanctuary in 2 computers, one for LED screen and stage display, and one for our online stream and videos. We use it for visuals, videos, lyrics, timers etc. Our production team has volunteers teams that are solely trained for pro presenter. Can't imagine changing to any other software at this point. Pros Pro presenter is great! We use it every single time we meet in any of our meeting rooms at our church. It allows you to centralize all of your display and presentation needs in one place. Backgrounds, videos, images, lyrics, stage displays, timers. Everything you would need to run the visual/ graphics part of any service production in one place. Cons The hardest part if learning the software. You kind of learn it by layers and it takes time to set up and learn all of its functions, but this is normal because it does so much. The only other thing I don't love it's their customer support. I've had an issue with an integration they have with planning center, and they only respond via email. It has been over two weeks and I have not been able to get anyone over the phone. Only via email. Reason for choosing ProPresenter I honestly don't know of many other than Playlister and Proclaim but we never even looked into them. I believe we have been using pro presenter for over 10 years and they never disappoint. We will soon be upgrading to pro presenter 7. We first the need to upgrade our machines. " July 11, 2019 5.0 We use Pro Presenter every week for showing lyrics and video on Sunday morning during church. I've used this product to presentations when I was in college as well. Pros This product is easy to use and easy to train people to use. It's added plugins with other programs and growing features are better than anything else on the market. It is smooth with transitions and video quality. It runs motion backgrounds seamlessly. There has rarely ever been something I wanted it to do that it didn't do. To my knowledge, there is no other software that even compares to it. I have been using this since version 3 and each new version included all the additional features I would have hoped for. Cons There have been at times minor hiccups with screen management. I wish the stage display was easier to operate while also using the standard display mode. I have never had to contact support but it challenging at times when I have had questions to find videos that give me an adequate tutorial. It would be nice to have a more interactive support system for questions. I have often wished that I could do several output signals to do multiple screen images. To put it simply, it would be nice if Pro Video Player and Pro Presenter were combined as one software rather two separate products. The developers at Renewed Vision have kept the product up-to-date with regular patches, allowing the most up-to-date MacOS releases to be used soon after general availability. Overall, this is well-supported and reliable product. Pros ProPresenter manages to combine volunteer-friendly ease of use with depth of functionality to meet the needs of the most sophisticated church production environments. It has solid integration with the on-line services we use (Planning Center, CCLI SongSelect primarily), so weekly service preparation is made very efficient. Most importantly, we've experienced crash-free stability and high reliability in live services. The ability to purchase and install additional media such as new backgrounds and movie clips within ProPresenter has been helpful too. Cons The price of entry could be seen as a little steep for small church (Renewed Vision should consider a subscription scheme to attract new users to the platform). It would be nice if there were an elegant way to switch between using ProPresenter for worship lyrics and KeyNote for sermon slides and back again. Pros I like that I can control and manage lots of different pieces of media (videos, lyrics, props, backgrounds, music, etc) and present them onscreen using one program - and that you can do lots of things at the same time all with one cue/click. Cons My LEAST favorite thing is that it is way too buggy! ProPresenter 4 and 5 both seemed to be stable and reliable. But Pro 6, though I appreciate some advances in features, seems to always have something that isn't working correctly. There are constant updates, but always more bugs to work around. June 30, 2019 4.0 ProPresenter overall is a wonderful, sleek way to show lyrics, announcements, videos, and sermon notes for our church. I have not encountered any better program for this purpose. It is affordable considering how much it can do. Yet, it is simple enough for those who need to do simple things to use easily, and complex enough that those who wish to do more complicated things also can. Pros ProPresenter offers a lot of different ways to make the presentations look and do exactly what you want them. Options like Stage Display, different transitions, and templates are all wonderful tools with lots of options. ProPresenter is a wonderful way to unify lyrics, videos, and audio all in one program on one computer. Cons While the Bibles feature is very helpful in many ways (and I'm grateful for it!), it is frustrating that if we create a presentation with a scripture, but then want to change which template we are using or change the size of the font, it then removes the superscripting of the verse numbers. This is very frustrating, and seems like it is something that should have been fixed by a program as complex and huge as ProPresenter long ago. It really helped create beautiful designs, and tools to explore. It's also user friendly. Pros The software helped me to create unique and beautiful presentations. It assisted me in maintaining student interest throughout presentations and lessons. There are lots of tools to use and choose from. There are many tools available for use and selection. Additionally, it is user-friendly and not overly difficult to use. Cons There are times that the program crashed maybe twice, however all my works was saved. There is a lot you can do with this software—from basic presentation to more complex service production, ProPresenter handles it all. Cons There are only minor things I like least about ProPresenter — mostly user preference items. I do enjoy the convenience of ProPresenter's mobile app to control the software wirelessly, but it needs improvements. I constantly face connectivity issues when I am no more than 20 feet away from the computer, even with 100+ Mbps internet speeds. Technology Specialist Used the software for: 2+ years ### "The BEST presentation software I have ever used" April 13, 2018 5.0 It has simplified my Sunday mornings and made things much less stressful preparing for our worship services. Pros This software is VERY easy to learn and use which makes it helpful for training my volunteers to use it. The integration with SongSelect makes importing new songs painless and setting up templates makes it even quicker to have my content perfect in seconds. Cons There are occasional glitches with my stage display disappearing but I think this will be able to be fixed in a future update and it doesn't affect the quality of our production. I also wish that there would be a way to tie "props" to a specific slide in each song file so that I don't have to remember to trigger the prop in each individual song.
