### "Ops-Genie is a great tool "

Effective communication and timely information providing for critical issue resolution.

Pros

Highly sensitive and express pace in communicating the person responsible for any issue. Features really takes you to the function in no time and effective in network for the operations and functions for critical incidents are addressed in a proper way.

Cons

May be you can simplify the login procedure both in the system and mobile. Reporting functions can be developed further and send out notifications on weekly/monthly basis, especially for MIM calls.

Pros

I like that it is supported by multiple platforms. I like that you can tailor the notification policies I like the speech-to-text feature when incoming call received

Cons

API V1 deprecated and migration process is not very clear

Pros

i like the Opsgenie smartphone app. I personally use it on my iPhone. I like the options it has for all the alerts.

Cons

May be the notifications settings.Nowadays i can't use the 'ack all' and 'close all' option. Any reason why its disabled for me. Earlier it used to work for me.

reliable live alerts for on call staff

Pros

Never misses an alert and they are sent to mobile devices almost instantly. Also alerts customization is really flexible and user friendly.

Cons

newer web interface (v2) somehow makes it more difficult to retrieve older alerts than the previous version. Also I've never been able to successfully use a saved filter.

### "It Does a Simply Job, but Does it Well"

For us, it's a simple app with a simple function: notify us if there is an after-hour emergency for our job. It does that, and does it loudly, and does it well. Can't ask for more.

Pros

If an emergency happens after hours, we are notified promptly, and very loudly. You will definitely know if something is going on.

Cons

The app can be a bit hard to navigate through, but more so on previous versions. The latest one, they seemed to have improved it some, so it's hopefully on the right track. There's definitely a little bit of a learning curve for it.

Great price compared to similar software, feature set is pretty decent, interfaces are nice and detailed activity log is super nice.

Cons

There are some missing integrations. When it comes to other software, OpsGenie seems to be not as popular as some competitors and thus they don't have integration towards OpsGenie.

OpsGenie removes the need for a real person to monitor things. It gives the user a way to submit or bypass jobs, if everything is setup correctly.

Pros

It can send notification in multiple methods - phone, email, text.

Cons

The phone notification is so hard to understand. You just know something abended and you need to go logon and check it out.

Escalation rules and various integrations are one of the most valuable things. easy integration and user friendly ui and configuration can be done in mins.

Cons

Additional integrations for microsoft VSTS tools creation will really help us to automate the incident orchestration process

Ease of use and removing old overly complicated notification software stacks. The Opsgenie app is also nice to use at a glance to get a birds eye on what is going on, schedules and so on.

Pros

We have not had any major outages or issues with the Opsgenie service or connectivity. It have been easy to setup and integrate for our environments in AWS.

Cons

Filtering alarms is a bit clunky. Integration with internal ldap functionality in the app is a bit weird with opening a website.

We've never run into a situation where we couldn't integrate OpsGenie with some other service. i think that's awesome.

Cons

The advanced configuration page is difficult to use. It would be nice if we could use a test event and dry run the integrations to see if they work.

Configuring schedules and creating overrides is easy. Knowing who's on call when is very clear. Ability to mute alerts for a period of time is helpful during incidents to reduce noise

Schedule start and end time notifications aren't always received

Every time I want to look at the overall schedule I have a hard time finding it...not something I need to do that often, but often enough that I remember fumbling around looking for it a few times.

Overall Opsgenie is a very reliable solution if your main goal is to have reliable delivery of alerts to the support staff.

Pros

OpsGenie is capable of pushing notifications through multiple means like call, message, email. Opsgenie is highly configurable which makes is very easy to setup for multiple use cases.

Cons

Browser application/interface has lot of options , however mobile application does not seem to cover all the areas. And it is kind of expensive too.

The flexibility of editing schedules on the fly, but the complex ability to create schedules as complicated as I need them to be

Cons

Some of the navigation and windows needs to remember dates so you're not constantly having to change them (for example if I set a schedule up for Jan, it still defaults to the date you're on, instead of showing the schedule for January) minor inconveniences.
