Overall have been happy with ease to import timecards." December 9, 2017 4.0 Pros The user interface is great. Makes it easy for me to get the job done quickly and get through the payroll flow easily. I also really love the reminders - running a business takes a lot, and there are a million things flying - so it's helpful to be prompted about payroll being due! Importing the timecards is also a huge time saver for my business. Cons I do wish the software had the ability to run employee reimbursements. Cons Customer Support, especially with Payroll, needs to be improved. Payroll needs to put better checks and balances when doing startup servicing. Should not start an account without first having confirmed account numbers. I am a former Paychex user and Square is so much easier to use. It is always improving as well Pros User friendly. Efficient, always accurate. I like to be able to edit the timecards when employees forget to sign in or out. Cons I would like to be able to remove past employees from the employee list. I know that you make them inactive but their name is still there. I find that signing on a new employee is not always easy. They dont get the link or they get an app to download. Does not take a lot of time to either use or understand. Any problems are quickly taken care of. Cons Having to go through the computer to get a " number" before I can talk to customer service is not so great, but it is still not that bad of an obstacle. I have gotten used to it. Great option for simplistic companies with a relatively low amount of employees and regular payroll situations Cons Did not seem to have some of the more complex functions that were needed across several unique situations I dealt with. Square dashboard for check in/out is very simple. Importing time cards from there is very simple. If any questions arise someone is there to answer the questions easily. Cons Delay in actions between square service and IRS. Only a few days to one week delay for most cases but that would be my only complaint. With the demands of owning a business any time saving measures that you can add or utilize all add up at the end of the day. Pros How easy it is to use everything. It's all in one place and so convenient to use and access. I can track sales from the previous year to help with scheduling staff, ordering needed supplies and planning production. Payroll is a breeze. Cons The only thing I would like to see improved is holding a credit card number if the customer happens to leave with the card before we close the sale. They figure and pay quarterly for me. Pros Cost and ease of use. I just have employees punch in and out on their own. At the end of the pay period I just check over the timesheets and submit it. The program is extremely simple to use and figure out. They file your payroll taxes for you and let you know exactly what the costs are. Cons Squares customer support is not the best. It's pretty hard to get a hold of anyone so you need to look into community support if you have any issues. Also like that I can do direct deposit or check. The customer service answers phone pretty quick as well, and they are pretty nice people to deal with. Cons If you are brand new to payroll, it doesn't give you enough information to correctly get everything setup. (i.e. I didn't realize I had to also setup with dept of revenue). Also confusing trying to figure out how the square system works on conjunction with dept of revenue. Pros I don't mind Square payroll at all. It was simple enough. I'd definitely recommend it to other business owners. Im do not have difficultly using the platform and i so recoment it. Pros Easy to set up, easy to use, and great instructions on paying contractors. It was easy to each my office manager to run payroll and allow staff to remotely acess the platform for virtual work days. Cons Customer service need to be improved upon. If the company have issues it should be communictaed promptly to users.
