More time to do other things that an owner should be doing to run their business. Also no worry about taxes. Pros I love that you can only hit one button and it's all done for you. Also the dashboard is easy to read and find items. Cons I don't like it when you get a new EIN number you need to make a new account. I switched to a corporation this year and had to make s new account. Cons I wish there was a way to add hours for time sheets in a more robust fashion, as I frequently have to go in and add hours for multiple days for folks that don't clock in, and doing one at a time is a pain. Even makes the payments for me to various government bodies. Very response support team as well, when you're first learning and needing questions answered. Now takes me just minutes to run payroll, funds are auto-deposited, and there is nothing else to be done from my end. Much better than my previous vendor, where I had to handle all the payments of withheld taxes myself. Pros They do everything for you except enter the hours worked Cons I sometimes find the screen layout a bit confusing, and have to repeatedly remind myself where to find certain clicks. This is the best payroll for the price! It also gives me the ability to have my employees clock in and out on the square register for free. They also send text messages to remind me to run payroll. I am very pleased with this product and service. Cons The only thing I like the least is that you have to run payroll 5 days before it’s processed. The setup was pretty painless and all the taxes are taken care of for you. Cons Nothing really comes to mind. My employees are thrilled to know that their pay checks are in their bank accounts on timely schedule. Love that my tax obligations to the federal and state government are taken care of and accurate~ Cons A little tricky to navigate the dashboard at first but with time and patience I managed to click on the right prompts and get my payroll done so that I could get on with my day! December 6, 2017 5.0 Pros I like that I can easily access payroll from anywhere in the world, it's very convenient it handles everything for you. Cons It will probably be the deadline to file payroll, square asks us to file payroll 4 days in advance while our old payroll company only asked 2 days before payroll date. Especially the holiday pay date is very tricky because we have to file almost a week before pay date and that makes me kinda nervous that I will not be able to pay employees on time. I paid a lot in fees with another service and had issues, very hard to get personal contact problems that should have never happened and took too long to resolve. Cons After a year I have had zero issues. The payroll run is easy to use and hasn't given me any problems. My only complaint is the running of payroll on holiday weeks. Pros The ease of use and the cost is the best for a small company like mine. With only 2 checks to write on a weekly basis, this program is easy and affordable! Cons It took a few minutes to figure out the input differences between independent contractors and employees but, managed within a short time. In addition, the directions for transferring previous payroll into the software program in order to create the 1099 at year end took a bit. Also, that square has a partner for worker's compensation so we now have everything integrated together into one easy tool. The text and email reminders to submit payroll are very helpful as well. The cost can't be beat for the available feature set. Cons Feature set is limited. On holiday weeks you must process payroll before the end of the period in order to checks on payday. Pay period is Monday through Sunday and payday is the following Friday, when there is a Holiday payroll must be submitted Sunday by 10:00 pm, which is before the period has actually ended. Cons No way to itemize expenses. Clients show up as unknown after they are charged but there is no reminder system to put their names up before someone can charge them out without creating a customer. December 7, 2017 5.0 The best benefit is that I don't have to search for an entire team of people to do the work needing to be done. Square Team is an efficient group and cost efficient as well. When being a small company trying to grow I appreciate all Square does for me so I don't have to worry about it. Pros We like how easy the site is to navigate. The best feature is that the Square team handles everything so we don't have to worry. We fill in the payroll hours and they do the rest. The second best feature is the pricing. You can't beat it. Expedient, professional, no hassle service that relieves us of handling the task for an amazing low cost. Cons There are only two things that are cons about the software, and I believe the Square team is actually working on them. First they don't offer yet the ability to include a stipend and the pay date calendar I find a bit tricky to use. That could however just be my error. Review Source CE Christopher E. Employees are able to access their info without bothering me. Cons Customer service is not always easy to get through to. A lot of times it pushes you to ask the community, even when you request a live person. Eventually, you do get through.
