Eliminates keying of hours worked by employees. Cons As software has been updated, I can no longer print the summary page as seen on the screen. I have to Export to excel and print the summary. Pros The software is very user friendly and the price is great! It's a perfect solution for businesses that have simple payroll functions. Plus, it makes tax reporting and paying your employees easy. Cons Would change the timecards to view multiple days at once throughout the pay period instead of day by day for each employee. Pros The ease of paying employees is great but the accounting aspect is better. The fact that all taxes are sent on time and the employees W2's are automatically sent are a blessing. We already had an audit by the DOL and the Square software made it a breeze Cons The coustom reports would be better if they allowed for a little more fininte reporting for audits. This software offers a lot that I don't even know about yet! I like how they send an email to new employees for me to get their personal information. That is one less thing I have to worry about. Cons We need a way to put a couple of different rates for one employee and they don't have that option! We also need an option to deduct employee food and apparel but there is no section for those things. Makes remote access to all the features and moving between them fairly seamless Cons i think the cost could be lower for multiple use customers like me that have POS, timeclock and payroll features. i pay alot for square services and i think having some kind of package/bonus feature would be nice as I also use the marketing platform (it all adds up!) I set up timecards through the iPad and with just one click they import into payroll so it makes less work for me. Cons I wish it calculated tips for you! That would be best if you could say "hourly shared" tips and choose that as an option and it calculates and distributes for you. This is the only time consuming part about it and that I have to manually do, that I don't like. Pros The simplicity is what drew me to the software and it continues to work well for all of my small business needs. I love that my taxes are withdrawn from my account and payed in a timely manner. I also like that I can change between direct deposit or manual check with just the click of the mouse. The reports are really good as well, and everything is easy. Even refunds are easy to process, and best of all, all thru the internet no phone lines are required, and it is fast. Cons all the extras, for instance, the booking tool per month is a bit expensive. It would be nice if it was offered at a lower cost, or if it was compatible with other booking tools. The dashboard is fairly intuitive but i think there is room for improvement. Cons there were bugs but i believe the engineers resolved them . Two pay cycles were missed because of this bug. Pros I especially like the invoicing offered by this software. I am able to charge by a flat rate or by item. Very easy to use and customize. Customer service made the transition easy." December 8, 2017 5.0 Pros Ease of use. Once you do payroll the first couple of times, it's easy to log in and do payroll. To date, there has not been any errors. Also, I like the fact that I can now perform payroll service if I am away from home or work without having to "trust" someone back home or at work to take care of things for me. Cons I wish Square's Payroll was a little more detailed. Meaning, my company offers holiday pay to full time employees, but this payroll item is not offered in Square. Rather, I have to add the amount I choose to pay the employee as "Additional Income." I like to keep my payroll detailed so when I run reports I know exactly where the money went. Also, I wish Square's reports were more detailed - I find I have to run their reports then do manual adding to get the figures I want. Review Source JP James P. Pros Ease of use. We set up our all of our employees in less than 5 minutes. We love that it's all in one - PoS, timecards, payroll. Cons So far the software has been great! I have had a tricky time getting insurance connected. It's advertised that integration is super simple, and if it was all square I bet it would be. But working with AP intego has been difficult. Cons What we'd like to see is if there's an option to give somebody a raise starting a specific date rather than calculating what their "extras" and just inputting it as a bonus. I like it that it's a streamlined process from initiating timecard to employee receiving their pay. I also like that the square support team is just an email.away. Cons Nothing major. If I was to note anything it would be the Monday time zone limitations. Being on Arizona time...the Eastern time cutoffs gets me every once in a while.
