Set up is easy to follow and everything is tracked as needed for accounting. One time fee in purchasing the equipments and one flat interest rate per transaction. Cons Takes too long to respond back, but responsive. Always have to log into account in order to get a PIN number to call customer service and yet have to wait another day to solve problem. Customer service is great once you get it( but it’s a challenge getting through. Pros Has made weekly payroll so much faster and no more second guessing my hours of payroll Cons We have had errors. Somehow the software accounted for two employees hours under different employees. It was quickly fixed at the time but was a nightmare to deal with at tax time because it wasn’t correctly fixed. Much easier to setup then competitors I've looked into. Pros It's super helpful considering I utilize contractors when needed since my service business is still small. Extremely user friendly. And I love that you can issue payroll via Cash App. Cons Don't really have any complaints about Square Payroll. Direct deposit is great and the fact that you take care of all the taxes is a huge help! Cons There has been a few letters we've received from the IRS with questions about payments they've received and where they should go, but the Square team has always been responsive and helped to figure it all out. I like that I can run off cycle payroll when necessary. It is a flexible system. I love that they file 941. Cons I wish that it had the capabilities to add benefits. Hopefully soon. Pros The intuitive nature of the software makes it very simple and efficient to use. And while it may be one of the best designed interfaces, it also seems to be one of the most affordable payroll services that I have come across. Cons The only thing that I was unable to figure out in Square Payroll was set up an employee that received an hourly rate, plus commission, plus tips. Cons Not sure exactly what some of the charges are on my account. December 8, 2017 4.0 We benefit from the easy to use, easy to set up nature. Adding products is easy. Fast, reliable checkouts. Pros I like Square overall for my POS and Payroll. In general we like Square and Square Payroll because it was easy to set up, easy to use, it has good UI, nice design, easy to run weekly payroll. Cons 1) Cost is good for a small business, but hikes as soon as you get a lot of employees. We are a taproom with lots of part time employees and some only work once a month. Maybe it could be a set rate over a range, like 5-10 people is XX$ per month. 2) Reporting errors with state. There have been several reporting errors and we've gotten letters from the Comptroller. Ideally we shouldn't be getting these. 3) Lastly, the difference between employee permissions and payroll should be blurred. I'd like to give my employees different access to features. However, when all things fit perfectly, there were no problems, and the system has and will continue to work well for CSCB. Pros All of Square's features work so very well together.. A perfect match! Cons No problems to report other than HR learning how to navigate the software. Pros The UI is easy to navigate. The reminders are really helpful (though they could arrive a tad earlier). I like that the state and federal filings are completed on time each quarter and mistakes are reported to me timely. Cons I can't change my actual payroll start each month from when we started initially (which was mid-month). And, it's annoying that we have monthly payroll and it makes me do 0.00 mid-month payrolls and "off schedule" payrolls to do monthly ones. " April 5, 2018 4.0 Pros It does everything it's supposed to do. I use it to pay my contractors and it does a great job with communicating with them. Also, the pricing is great and I really feel like I'm getting my money's worth. Cons The user interface isn't very intuitive and it's missing a key feature of a dashboard where I can see how much I'm paying each contractor. I currently have to click on each individual contractor for that information so it makes it hard for me to compare them. Pros This software is easy to set up and use, especially when already a Square customer for other services. Affordable and user-friendly. Cons Initially, I had issues when setting up my pay cycle because the software was not as flexible as I would have liked and I had missed a deadline, and I had to get a work-around from customer service. Easy-to-use, time saver, and saves me money by handling all tax filings so I avoid any fees or penalties. Pros Running payroll with Square Payroll was a breeze. I only required it for a couple of months because I only had an employee for a couple of months in my very small business. But in that time it took me less than 5 minutes to run payroll every two weeks. All I had to do was enter my employee's hours and hit "run payroll". It would handle all local, state, and federal taxes by taking out the necessary amounts and holding them to file taxes when needed. It also allowed me to print a paystub and write manual checks or print the check. It was also the cheapest payroll tool I could find. Highly recommend. Cons There was not anything about this software that I had an issue with.
