I have never had a single issue with any payments at all. They are processed on time and accurately. Their fraud prevention is also very solid. Pros Square is a nifty payment processor. Compared to the other major players, like Stripe, the cost is quite compatible, but you'll save with Square with your chargebacks and possibly on equipment depending on your setup needs. The customer support is very good, and the system works flawlessly, very dependable. Cons The integration into your website, same as most merchant processors, can be a challenge, but other than that it's a great system overall. Pros Square Payments has been a solid choice for handling our day-to-day transactions. The setup process is almost effortless—we were up and running within a single afternoon without jumping through the traditional merchant services hoops.Easy to use, fast setup, transparent pricing .Also the user interface is exceptionally clean, making onboard training for new staff quick and seamless. Payment settlement is fast, and the clear, pay-as-you-go fee structure makes tracking transaction costs simple without worrying about monthly lock-in contracts. Cons The main drawback is account risk management. Square’s automated security algorithms can occasionally flag unusual activity or larger-than-normal payments, resulting in held funds or extended review periods. Additionally, while the standard swipe/tap rates are competitive, manual keyed-in transaction fees add up very fast. Creating and sending professional invoices is simple, and clients have a convenient way to pay by credit card. Cons The credit card processing fees can add up, especially with larger event payments. Square makes it easy for both myself and the consumer to do transactions. It's very user friendly and easy to navigate. Tech can be hard as a business owner, but Square makes it as easy as possible. Pros Square Payments is very user friendly! It's easy to set up, navigate, and get help if you run into any issues. After you run transactions, Square makes it easy to transfer your funds directly to your bank. They do have a small fee for each card transaction, but it's minor enough to not notice. I purchased a square stand for my iPad and I've already gotten the value out of it. I haven't had any issues since using Square for about a year. I will definitely continue to use Square and recommend it to any others looking for an easy payment system! Cons Sometimes it can be hard to find certain statistics within the app, but nothing a quick Google search can't solve. I have not had any major issues. June 17, 2025 5.0 I have been using Square Payments since 2020. I love Square as a service and they keep the service fresh and exciting. The fees are nominal and they never surprise us. If anything is changing that tell us way in advance. The UI/UX is always being refreshed and kept modern and they go above and beyond to listen to the community. Pros What I love about Square Payments is the ease of use, the versatility, and the security. Customers can tap, dip, swipe, and use other options like CashApp Pay, Google Pay, and Apple Pay as well as deferment options like AfterPay. Cons I do not dislike anything about Square Payments. Unlike Square's Links features that I also reviewed, the mainstay app has not made ordering easier...it only put up a tad more roadblocks. Pros Now, I like that the app has a broader and deeper well of affiliated companies and types of services, and not just limited to restaurants. Cons I still don't like that Square is associated, in my mind, with an increased competition from other payment apps, long wait times, confusion at certain checkout, and an overall dissatisfactory customer service experience. Everything from invoice reminders, to sending to multiple contacts, to reporting is east to use. Pros I love the simplicity. Invoice and received payments through one system. I also really love how you only pay when you use the service - no monthly subscription fees. Cons I did not like how it was not very easy to change customer's billing information. For a while they would not accept our new postal code.
