Pros Simple to use and customer friendly as it allows for references to be added (eg invoice numbers) to make reconciliation easy, and receipts can be emailed directly to them from the mobile app. As a first time user, I can't fault it! For a high-volume established business, I'd shop around because those processing fees can become significant. Pros As a small business owner I like that you can start accepting payments without needing a complicated merchant account. This excellent for freelancers, side hustles, creators, service providers, and small shops. Cons Transaction fees add up if you're processing a lot of payments, Square's percentage based pricing can become expensive compared with some traditional processors. Hardware costs for card readers and other POS equipment can add another expense. It's tap to pay system is really useful for when we need it, but it's customer profile system is horrendous. Pros It's an easy to use software with standard processing fees with easy integration with many other services, like Jotform and Mailchimp. It offers a lot of amazing physical software and the pricing is amazing. Pros It allows such easy payment processing. I am able to take payments in numerous ways which is so helpful. I don't run into issues. It works offline! The fees are low compared to a lot of payment processing softwares. It's super easy to use and worth any fee I pay. Cons I don't really have any issues. It is a little confusing to set up at first but after figuring that out, its so simple. I was able to input all my services and charge from there. They have whole heartedly disappointed me. I followed all of their suggestions and advice to prevent getting charge backs, including using Square invoicing, getting a copy of the ID, copy of the card etc etc. The customer signed the contracts that Square said would help back us and after all of that Square said too bad so sad. Pros They make it very easy to accept customer payments and take care of billing. It was definitely very user friendly. Cons The customer service is horrendous. If you are unlucky enough to have a charge back, not only will Square not back you, they will have no solution for you other than just removing the money from your account. Payment settlement is fast, and the clear, pay-as-you-go fee structure makes tracking transaction costs simple without worrying about monthly lock-in contracts. Cons The main drawback is account risk management. Square’s automated security algorithms can occasionally flag unusual activity or larger-than-normal payments, resulting in held funds or extended review periods. Square makes it easy for both myself and the consumer to do transactions. It's very user friendly and easy to navigate. Tech can be hard as a business owner, but Square makes it as easy as possible. Pros Square Payments is very user friendly! It's easy to set up, navigate, and get help if you run into any issues. After you run transactions, Square makes it easy to transfer your funds directly to your bank. They do have a small fee for each card transaction, but it's minor enough to not notice. I purchased a square stand for my iPad and I've already gotten the value out of it. I haven't had any issues since using Square for about a year. I will definitely continue to use Square and recommend it to any others looking for an easy payment system! Cons Sometimes it can be hard to find certain statistics within the app, but nothing a quick Google search can't solve. I have not had any major issues. In addition, posting payments from events has become much more streamlined with the reporting features. Pros We use Square's card readers for attendees to pay for admission to our program events. Never had a problem with the system and it works well in combination with our ERP system. In addition, the reporting features help us easily drop data into Microsoft Excel and manipulate the data. Cons Overall, I have little criticism for Square. The system works well, does what it's supposed to do, and transferring money to our bank is easy.
