Also, it suggests better words and helps improve word choice. The sentence rewrite suggests edits that make the writing more readable. And most of all, the plagiarism checker is icing on the cake. Their Chrome extension works on almost every website and is always there to poke me when I make a mistake, even though it might be intentional. Cons A lot many times it shows errors that aren't actually errors. For example 'your own' isn't necessarily incorrect in copywriting, but Grammarly disapproves. Also, the sentence rewrite suggestions don't work reliably. Grammarly suggests multiple edits in the same sentence and then starts moving in circles. It is a software that picks up grammar mistakes, which can be a life saver, and it also provides the reason why it thinks the mistake was present. As a daily user, I recommend Grammarly to anyone thinking of using it. Pros Grammarly allows the user to type while it analyzes the words and picks up on possible grammar mistakes. I use Grammarly almost daily for my emails and letters. Often times, I type very quickly and although it made sense in my head, it did not make sense in reality. For example, as I am writing this review, I missed a word in a sentence which would make the sentence sound awkward if I did not proofread it. However, Grammarly was able to pick it up and underline the word, autocorrect it, and fixed the sentence for me. I am thankful that Grammarly highlights the phrase or word that needs to be corrected. It serves as a spell check and grammar check. I also like that it tells you why they are fixing the mistake, it is teaching me while fixing my mistakes. One of the greatest features of Grammarly Business is that you do not need to utilize all of its services. If you only want the grammar check, you can toggle with the settings in your browser and just close the spell check option. It is a very flexible software, catering to your needs. Cons Grammarly is an automatic software that detects grammar mistakes but, sometimes it can be wrong. It does not hurt to have Grammarly as a back up but, definitely check on that mistake to make sure that it is a mistake before fixing it. Pros Grammarly is a wonderful tool that has gradually improved my writing and accuracy, even when writing by hand. With the browser extensions installed, I can spend time thinking about how to phrase things, and get feedback in real-time without having to bother another human. Grammarly points out every time I make a mistake, and every time I make the \*same\* mistake. Over time, those corrections have changed my behavior regardless of whether I'm using Grammarly. That lasting change is the best part! Cons Occasionally, the Grammarly extension is a little buggy with text boxes and form fields. It also doesn't perform well when your computer is already strapped for resources. And you have to allow a third-party direct access to everything you write. It's not monitored by humans, but the tech behind this functionality is a little worrisome if you read the fine print in the user terms.
