Very little to do in terms of installation. The scanner works great for external devices. Avast has worked really well when clients do not want to pay annually for an antivirus. Cons There are a lot of ads. Newcomers feel overwhelmed with ads popping up to purchase their products. At times Avast likes to block programs that require exempting. The features for more support (secure browsing) take up a lot of space on your computer reminding you that they are there. Some of my clients complain about this. I wish they would run more like FortiClient. Where you rarely notice their installation on your computer. Pros Since using avast I have never had a virus issue or outbreak. I have found that often antivirus software slows down a computer but with avast I have not noticed a significant reduction in PC performance. For a graphics heavy job this is a very helpful benefit. Cons I have yet to experience a significant flaw in the software but it is lacking in a few scheduling features. Overall there isn't that much negative feed back I can give.
