Pros: I am a fan of Simple Practices ability to take care of the lot of my teams organizational needs; scheduling, notes and billing. I also love the client portal and online paperwork I can have patients fill out before their first appointment.

Cons: Clients will get multiple/duplicate emails for appointments if they have the same email address for contact information. This tends to cause some confusion. This is one of the only problems I have run into so far.

Pros: I love the streamlined ease of creating an invoice for a session and being able to immediately charge the client's card on file through Stripe.

Cons: I had some difficulty initially with finding and editing the intake paperwork that is sent with the new client portal link. It took me awhile to figure out where to find it.

Pros: It's indeed Simple! I like there is a spell check feature, lots of templates that I can customize. I also like clicking on "reminder" and using it as my to-do list of the day!

Cons: The idea of "locking" my notes permanently and not being able to add an addendum to correct anything if I made a mistake on my note is very nerve racking!

Overall: Calendar, case notes, secure emailing clients, going paperless for record keeping.

Pros: I like that most of my professional needs are in Simple Practice - bookkeeping, chart notes, billing, interacting with my clients about appointments, intake paperwork, invoicing. Most of all, I love that Simple Practice integrates with Quickbooks. I don't believe many EHR platforms offer this feature.

Cons: I wish that you could write on your scanned documents, charge less for Stripe and billing insurance companies (i don't like the 'nickel and dime' approach for these features).

Overall: all-in-one approach to running a successful private practice.

Pros: I love the note templates, the client portal, and the finance records. Having it all connected for each client makes it really easy and simple to serve my clients, as well as to focus on what needs my attention: the client themselves. Thanks for taking many of the other parts off of my hands.

Cons: I would love to see there be some type of email integration so that I can email clients directly from SimplePractice. I would also like to see some type of Dashboard when I first log in with my schedule for the day, practical reminders, etc, instead of just viewing my calendar right away.

Pros: It's very comprehensive! Everything is in one spot. The ability to bill for clients directly and not rely on a billing company.

Cons: The reminders do not allow for confirmation from clients and it takes a lot of time to enter all of the information into the excel sheet that SP will upload for you. Also - it isn't indicated but you're charged for the electronic claims.

Pros: Tutorial videos as I go - simple and user-friendly; feel more confident and less overwhelmed with my decision to choose SP over ICANotes

Cons: Not sure that I can provide an opinion here yet - only thing that would be nice is access to support via phone

Overall: Just subscribed! Have not begun using it in my new practice yet - but definitely excited about doing so!

Pros: The customer service is awesome! I also love that there are trainings to help you understand every area of the software.

Cons: The sensitivity on the calendar is high to where I accidentally move appointments. No other complaints.

Pros: I like the user interface best, especially as compared to similar software. It's easy to navigate each area of the website. Additionally, each aspect of what Simple Practice offers takes much less time to use than if I were to do the tasks on my own. Specifically, having invoices created in no time is especially useful.

Cons: My least favorite part about the software is that I cannot create an appointment in iCal and have it upload to Simple Practice.

Pros: I love that I could create my own templates for notes. It made my note taking faster and easier. I also love the mobile app. I can see my calendar anywhere and it is secure.

Cons: You can't make calendar notes on a clients appointment. Those have been helpful in the past (in other programs) for reminders.

Pros: We love the simpleness of SimplePractice! It has a clean look and offers a secure HIPAA compliant payment, messaging, and calendaring/booking system.

Cons: Sometimes simple isn't easy to convince older clinic owners that it would be in their best interest to transition over to simplepractice. We use it for our partnerships so all of us can be on the same page.

Pros: I like the Ehr features, how everything is available on my phone or computer. When I worked at an agency, I used Greenway, another electronic system, so this is simply so perfect for my private practice needs - organization, client info, convenience, customizable email templates/forms, all electronic paperwork. I appreciate the Simple Practice team behind the software! When I had an issue, we scheduled screen sharing to work through it and the team is very prompt with email replies. I love that everything is EASY and convenient, so I don't need any paperwork. I also like how stripe is connected and recurrent auto pay is an option. I am private pay, so it's easy to edit the cost of a client's session depending if they are on a sliding scale. Also, there is a "book online" feature, so I have added this to my website and clients are using it! One of my client's mom's loves booking sessions at 11pm and planning for the week ahead, so the feedback is super positive. Love it!

Cons: The app and the safari browse are different. Some things aren't in the app, so I always just keep the browser open. One thing I'd like to improve: there is only room for one person's phone number to get the automated text and voicemail reminders. I see kids and some teens, so I'd like mom, dad, and teen client to each get a text and voicemail reminder about the appointment. It would be great to have two three people's phone numbers to have auto texting reminders sent to them.

Pros: Comprehensive features offered, cost and ease of use. I also love the visual layout of the various features. Easy for a big picture hate details type of clinician/business owner.

Cons: I'm not sure if it is the software or me, but I have to delete accessibility options one at a time. I would love the ability to highlight and delete multiple sessions at a time on one day.

Overall: Paperless intake process. Client's can schedule. Electronic records and portability of records.

Pros: I like that Simple Practice can take care of most of my practice organizational needs, from scheduling, to notes, to billing. I also love the client portal and digital intake paperwork I can have clients fill out before the first session.

Cons: It took some time to figure out how things worked. I appreciated the how-to videos and quick email responses though.

Overall: Great to have everything organized at my fingertips. I love the client portal, the message reminders for clients, the billing options, and the digital intake paperwork.

Pros: I love how this is streamlined and the calendar is fairly easy to use. I like that I will be able to have a client portal and send the paperwork to new clients to do online

Cons: I have struggled getting my questions answered. I can't always find the answers in the tutorials and it is hard to find how to get customer support. My other EHR had very easy customer support to call or email. I hope that this changes as there are still a lot of questions getting set up that I feel I need some help with personally.

Pros: I like the efficiency. We use the blocking tool and also appointment setting tools. The record keeping is very clear and easy to use for case notes. I like the instant and automatic email invitation to the patient portal. I don't have to remember to send the invitation. Billing can be done efficiently. Client search is quite easy to move through.

Cons: When we have multiple people in a family with the same 'family' email, there is some confusion about duplicates. Beware of clicking your mouse outside of the new appointment block before you save information because that click kills unsaved information.

Overall: Efficient, trustworthy software that impresses patients with that trust and integrity.

Pros: I love that notes come prior to billing to ensure that all clinicians complete notes prior to billing client. I love that all reminders to client are free. I love that we can choose our format of notes as we all have different styles and they are all complaint and meet requirements. We get responses immediatly.

Cons: That is is not connected to Office Ally.
That we can only list one supervisor . We have many clinicians in our practice that take interns.
The cost is a little high for the simplicity.
Would like teletherapy feature so I can have one company to use for this as well.

Pros: I like that it meets all of the needs for my small practice, from being able to customize intake forms to billing insurance. It gives me one place to store all of my patient records in a HIPAA compliant manner.

Cons: I wish there was more flexibility for the booking calendar. I would like to be able to customize more precisely how far in advance a patient can schedule an appointment. I would also like for patients to be able to schedule their appointments without me needing to confirm every single one. It is a huge waste of time for me to have to approve every appointment a patient schedules online.

Overall: This provided me a HIPAA compliant way to store all of my patient records. It also provided an integrated online scheduling calendar for my clients and addressed issues with insurance billing.

Pros: I appreciate the user-friendly aspect of the software. It's pretty much plug and play, which is great when getting set up.

Cons: Pricing can be a little more affordable. There are some troubleshooting issues that support needs to connect with you on in person via video chat, which is sometimes not doable.

Pleasantly surprised at how easy the system is to use. Love the client portal.

Pros: The client portal is wonderful. I can send clients a welcome email that gets them set up with the client portal where they can access all my office forms and complete demographic and intake forms that get saved into the account - no more repetitive data entry!

Cons: Some things are not intuitive, but after using it several times, I have figured everything out for the most part.

Overall: Integrates all paperwork. Also secure client messaging

Pros: The fact that i can input all client information including insurance details and co pay. It is so easy to access this information right from the appointment.

Cons: There is not much that I do not like. However, if i had to add something it would be a little note section when setting up the appointment in order to note any important information with regards to that particular appointment.

Pros: Can customize it to your personal needs, does have templates that I can use. There are a lot of features and more being added. Glad that it is HIPAA compliant.

Cons: Though very customizable, I find that I wish I I used more of what the software offered. However, I find it pretty time consuming to learn the things I can change and have not been using all the features simply because of the learning curve. I'd appreciate it feeling a little more user friendly though I'm not sure how to achieve that goal.

Pros: I like being able to reduce my paperwork and the accessibility of being able to work on administrative tasks for my practice from anywhere.

Cons: The only con I can see so far is not being able to edit invoices or superbills once they are generated (before submitting to the client).

Pros: I signed up for the free trial, as I am new to EHR systems. Simple Practice made it easy for me to learn how to use an EHR. I really like that I can use my own forms, send/sign them electronically, and keep things paperless. Everything is streamlined for an efficiently running a private practice.

Cons: I haven't found anything I don't like at this point. I think Simple Practice has taken a lot of feedback given by others into consideration when updating this system and am happy to see it continues to evolve.

Pros: I love the convenience of having all of my records, billing and client information in one place. Prior to this, I had been using Google sheets and docs. This makes my life a lot easier!

Cons: There is definitely a learning curve in terms of figuring out how to use all the functions and features.

Pros: I like all of the integrations that SimplePractice has with scheduling, patient reminders, communication with patients, the patient portal and direct payment.

Cons: I do not like that there can only be one patient account registered per email. I care for a lot of families and children who often don't have their own emails to use. Plus, it would be easier for the parents to have access to all of the forms for their kids on one portal.

Pros: Integrated credit card processing, Client portal for HIPPA compliant communication, safe payments, secure messaging, and online scheduling. I love that you can scan business documents for storage, and that I now have an EHR that integrates with payments, scheduling, insurance, and note taking. Great feature that you can send intakes securely for clients to complete before they come to the office.

Cons: I wish it integrated better with Quickbooks.

I wish the insurance features were faster (drop down box is very slow for choosing insurance providers) and the list is not as complete as I hoped

I'd prefer an online landing page for online scheduling so clients could schedule without going through the client portal if they chose to do so

Online schedule should have a feature for infinite recurring appointments just for ease sake.

Key con to me so far: They need phone support. Especially upon set up, it would just be nice to make a quick call and get unstuck rather than having to set up a video 1:1 or read through their support materials. For the price of the product, though, I see why this might be a challenge to provide.

Overall: Lower cost than what I was doing before with a separate insurance billing product, online scheduler, and credit card processing feature. Eventually, this will help me go almost completely paperless.

Pros: What I like most about this software is that it integrates most necessary operational functions needed to maintain a good therapy practice. My information is protected and secure yet organized and easy to access by me. I also really love the blog with all of its helpful guidance and information.

Cons: I'm still exploring all of the features so a little too early to share what I don't like. So far, so good.

Pros: Coming from Therapy Appointment after 5 years, this was a breath of fresh air. Infinitely more customizable with considerably more options. Plus Simple Practice is cheaper, especially for multi-clinician practices. A few of my favorite aspects are:
- HIPAA-compliant integration with Google Calendar
- store multiple credit cards under a single client
- separate accounts/confidentiality for each spouse, but joint note writing that goes into each account for couple sessions
- custom automated replies/emails
- custom email/text/voice reminders and multiple reminders for each client
- smooth integration with Swipe, including a convenient transaction log
- well organized and easy-to-use reminder system

Cons: - lack of customization for each individual clinician
- lack of accounting for virtual therapy (no place for changing the POS and modifier on individual sessions)
- repeat appointments have some glitches
- editing individual/couple sessions to one or the other is difficult

Pros: I am enjoying not having to send reminders to my clients and having them enter and schedule their own appts using my portal.

Cons: I don't understand how to upload my own forms to the website and none of the classes I have taken have been able to answer this. Also, I need to learn how to use it for billing.

Pros: Calendar features is great; client portal is very easy to use and I love that you can add documents, intake forms to fill out on-line - so environmentally friendly. As well, there is an auto-pay feature that charges clients at the end of the day which is so convenient.

Cons: I wish there was a phone support options - sometimes I just have a simple question and the time it takes to research the help and/or send in a request makes it less easy to solve a problem. I'd also like more template options.

Overall: Lots of things!

Pros: The ability to have a "one stop shop" for my practice. I can do the billing, generate invoices, write note, organize my calendar with one website.

Cons: My free trial ended so I have upgraded to pay for the service. However, I am still confused about the "basic" ability and the "professional" ability and the differences.

Pros: It's easy to learn, makes sense and utilizes safeguards to prevent errors. Once I got over the hurdle of getting started, I found the program became easier to use and was able to get my questions answered in a timely fashion.

Cons: I had to enter many families very quickly. Since I see mainly children, I found it tedious to repeatedly re-enter personal data for both the child and the responsible party. It would be nice to have a "same" feature to click on if the information was the same.

Overall: I was able to avoid a crisis and continue my cash flow!

Pros: I LOVE the App. I often run into clieonts on the street (small town), and am able to schedule appointments on my phone.

Cons: Clients are expected to fill out intake assessments. I would like to option to access the intake assessment form myself to complete with clients if they prefer. Some clients do not wish to use the client portal.

Pros: The ease of use overall. I consider myself a just above a tech 'novice,' yet I found I can navigate through and figure out what I need to use by simply playing with the software. I love that it was designed by therapists and FOR therapists, and as the owner of a private therapy practice, I love that idea (and you can tell it was truly made for small business owners like me).

Cons: Sometimes I have a little trouble finding troubleshooting answers to questions, but it really is more because there are so many tutorials and articles on various subjects, not because there's a lack of support on the Help Desk side.

Pros: What kept me with SimplePractice instead of TherapyNotes or TheraNest was the ability to make a variety of completely customized forms and upload your own forms, allowing me to make my ENTIRE practice paperless. If you want full control this is for you.

Cons: The app for your phone is not as robust as some of the others. It is more work to set up if you want a lot of standard fillable forms or a complex progress note.

Pros: I like the ability of the progress notes and calendar. I like being able to keep everything in one place. I also like the options of integration with website and filing claims.

Cons: The billing recording. It doesn't allow for an outside source of input such as if a client makes a payment using a CC that isn't thru swile. I have found it difficult to know how to get other payments put in including write offs without clicking 500 times to get to the right screen. It doesn't allow for sliding fee without adding 500 different services.

Overall: The progress notes and an easier way of keeping things organized.

Pros: The ability to have patients book online is helpful. I really like being able to send pt's intake forms as soon as they book online and being notified when they have completed all documentation. It is pretty simple to set up your availability and schedule appointments. It is easy to keep track of pt's balances and generate invoices. Although, I haven't used the pre-payment feature yet, I think that will be a great feature to be able to utilize. The amount of storage they provide is great!

Cons: It would be nice if information from forms would flow or populate automatically into evaluation or tx notes. Having additional options when creating notes templates would be helpful, the choices are a little limited. I find that I end up with a lot of free text in my notes, which takes a little longer to document. I would like to be able to better distinguish my clinicians for clients when scheduling online. The customer support team is very responsive; however, it would be helpful if there was a number to call to resolve issues quicker at times. There are certain problems I had that took several back and forth emails, that I think if I could have spoken with someone the problem would have been resolved quicker.

Cons: It is not that easy to do things on my mobile device as it is on my Mac. I find that I cannot put in that a client paid for their session from my mobile phone and that would be helpful.

Pros: My favorite feature so far has been the ability to create my own documents and forms. The customer service is also pretty great. I had a few questions about creating the questions I wanted to an intake assessment. I scheduled a 15 minute Skype meeting and all the questions I had were answered during that time. I have no doubt that this is a program I will continue to use for a long time.

Overall: Easy to put all of my documents, forms, receipts, notes, etc. in one place.

Pros: I like the video tutorials that guide you on how the different functions work. I really like the scheduled sessions with a live person who takes the time to explain anything you want to know and make it very simple for you to understand. I just signed on to the system so everything is fairly new to me I've only been on it for 11 days.

Cons: The only part I do not like is the fact they do not have a system that can scan your PDF documents and make it fillable for your clients, so you will not have to use a separate program to make the fillable slots for clients to type in or sign. Another part that I wish they added to the program is to have Telehealth counseling. It will be nice if they had a video link where you can do your counseling via internet. At this point I have to pay for another program for the video counseling while using simple practice for my electronic health record system.

Overall: I like the daily reminders of things that you may not have completed on the system or letting you know how your schedule up for the day without you have to look for yourself it just pops up throughout the day.

Pros: The insurance check auto posting feature. It is superb, far above other softwares I have used. The at a glance feature allows for quick and easy checks of balances

Cons: The invoice feature is redundant and ineffective. This feature allows for balances to be created, but can also create incorrect balances. In this case all invoices need to be deleted an recreated. Posting payments is always to the balance rather than Date of Service. Copays become part of the balance even if insurance hasn't paid. Customer service can not be reached by phone. Help can be time consuming and arduous as both parties try to decipher email.

Overall: The cons out weigh the pros in this software, with only one redeeming amazing process.

Pros: Simple Practice is definitely quality, and I think if I took insurance in my practice it would be the one I would choose. Customer service is great and they seem responsive to practitioners needs.

Cons: I didn't feel it was as intuitive to use and figure out as the program I eventually ended up choosing to use in my practice.

Pros: I like the intuitive nature of the program. I appreciate that the progress notes are not cumbersome.

Cons: 1) The cost of adding additional users is too high compared with other programs, specifically TheraNest. For a small practice such as mine where I have two interns, I think having to pay money per intern to add them to my account is too much. TheraNest offers a competitive rate based on number of active clients. I'm not suggesting Simple Practice adopt this model, but I think the rate to add interns should be less than the rate to add licensed professionals to the account. Interns usually have a relatively small case load of 10-15 clients at most, while a full-time licensed professional will carry a case load of 25-30. I'm currently not sure I will stay with Simple Practice because it will cost me an additional money per month to add my two interns, whereas with TheraNest, I can run my whole practice (me and two interns).

2) Customer service is non-responsive. I've sent three emails through the Simple Practice portal asking questions that were not able to be answered online. That was last week and I have not received responses to any of my questions. I find this unacceptable.

Overall: Improved time management and timely completion of notes and billing.

I've been really impressed--enough to take the time to make the switch to a new way of doing things.

Pros: The fact that notes can be customized is the best! Other companies require you to use their templates which are often cumbersome and slow. Good uptime (i.e., site is always available). Other great features: client portal (that permits self-scheduling and online client forms), secure messaging with clients, easy billing, and integration with Google Calendar. Also, product team is open to hearing customer feedback and adds new features periodically!

Cons: As of March 2018: Poor document management, cannot create non-appointment notes that are customizable (like an email or phone call note), self-scheduling and email reminders are not designed to work well with families/minors, no global address book for commonly used contacts like local physicians, mobile app does not have feature parity with web app, no task list, no wait list feature, no way for clients to send/upload a document, etc. Hope they improve upon some of these features!

Pros: I'm just starting this software but I chose it because it has all the features I need. Billing options, credit card integration, electronic paperwork, great classes to teach how to do things, fantastic support, and it's a fair price.

Cons: At this point the thing I like the least is the daily emails. I know I can change the setting of how often to get emails, but I don't love the format of them. I wish I could customize what gets emailed to me.

Pros: I've had a great experience so far with Simple Practice. It's user interface is great and billing is incredibly straightforward (I do superbills, I do not bill directly to insurance). I've been very happy overall.

Cons: The cost is higher than other EMR's designed for individual and small group practice. It also does not currently have the capability to link to online surveys for clients.

Pros: ability to make own progress note templates, unlimited non-clinicians, two-way secure communication with clients, client billing, the app is useful for clinician in the field to schedule appts on their own, flexible enough to create and apply interdisciplinary service model for clients

Cons: lacks easy interface with QuickBooks--billing using only Stripe does not allow for financial oversight and other accounting responsibilities related operating the business (taxes, payroll, etc.); pricey for start up businesses using multiple clinicians (less than 1 yr old); lacks ability to change title's of client information (i.e. we would have preferred to title our 'clients' as 'students' and parents as 'legal guardian') for greater variability since our business focuses on serving students.

Overall: online intake helps recruit clients from varying communities and economic households; our clientele has increased, in part, due to the easy interface it offers our clients to upload documents, schedule appointments, and communicate with our office.

Pros: SP is easy to use and quite intuitive. The customer service agents are simply amazing - always very kind and unlike many from other companies, they actually take the time to read and write personalized replies instead of sending out a cookie-cutter template. I've asked more questions than I care to remember and every single time, I have received a precise answer with clear, detailed explanations. That, in my opinion, makes it all worth it. It has pretty much all the features I need without going over-the-top with bells and whistles, adding unnecessary bloat like another major service provider.

Cons: There are only two things which come to mind, and they aren't major cons. The first is the inability to fully personalize text messages in another language - we can modify the text reminder; however, the date that is sent with the message remains in english (so in a french message, the date still appears in english - day of the week, month, date, time). Not a major issue, but it would be great to offer an option to convert the whole message into a given language. Second is the ability to add an add-on service for an appointment. For example, I offer animal-assisted therapy to some of my clients. I would love to be able to track how many hours my animals are putting in; as of now, there is no way to add and add-on service, I have to actually enter my co-therapist as a client and "book" him an appointment for his hours to appear somewhere in my logs. Again, not a major issue, it would simply be nice to be able to add additional services to a session.

Overall: I can now easily log my notes without taking up space in my office (I converted from paper files to SP); I can input my notes much quicker; text reminders for clients!! No more no-call-no-shows!!

Pros: The tutorial videos for every feature of the software is really helpful and the opportunity to have a 1-1 info session.

Cons: It would be nice to have access to a linked Square account to save fees on the Stripe service. Otherwise, I have not encountered anything else!

Pros: I love the ease of sending your new clients paperwork through the client portal. I also like the way you can edit your own notes and documents and/or add and take away items on the already provided documents and forms.

Overall: Some features were a little difficult to find at first. But once I figured it out it I've got more flow when working on SP

Pros: I like the case notes and I like the client portal. I like the design of the website. The scheduling part would be better if it transferred from my google calendar without setting the appointment as other which then doesn't send reminders.

Cons: You have to schedule to join the more in-depth training videos. It's doesnt have enough options for insurance so you've got to take the time to search that information out. If you need help the only option is to email back and forth and sometimes you won't get an answer that day so if you hit a barrier you can't get any work done with billing that day because there is no calling anyone.

Pros: Lots of important pros. 1) Online scheduling and intake, 2) integrated payment processing and auto-pay, 3) cloud based, 4) competitive pricing, 5) very easy to learn, 6) the team is getting faster (slightly) with updates/improvements, 7) works for chiropractic billing now, 8) free online help articles, and 9) free month trial. We looked into so many options, and Simple Practice was clearly the best in our opinion. We're still happy with our choice; the pros outweigh the cons!

Cons: 1) Text reminders: you only have a few options of when they go out, and all options are 24+ before the appointment. A text reminder shortly before greatly reduces no-shows, so it's a major feature missing.
2) Confirming appointments: you can't turn off the need to confirm appointments, and it's time consuming to confirm every. single. appointment. We want the option to turn off confirmation, or at least for some appointment types.
3) Email reminders: you have to turn them on for every patient, and it's not quick to get to it.
4) Sales tax: they don't track it, so you have to manually keep track. You shouldn't use this software if you sell products regularly.
5) Customer service: too slow. Not just initial response time, but how many back and forth emails it takes to get an answer. I tried the live q&a and it didn't get me an answer any faster. Chat would be a big improvement.
6) Group practice: overall it works well. The thing that is lacking is the report to help with payroll. It's confusing and needs better instructions/help articles
7) Online scheduling: overall good. The con is cancelling online. A) it's hard to find, so we get more phone calls than we used to. B) we let patients cancel up to 12 hours beforehand, but the software cuts it off 24 hours before, so we again get more calls than before.
8) Color coding: you can't set the background color of appointments. For us, it would be so helpful to make insurance appointments a different color than self-pay.

Pros: I like the fact that I was able to navigate it after watching a few very easy to follow tutorials. I also appreciate that there are templates which are customizable. The help feature is extremely useful when I have questions or cannot figure out how to use a certain feature. However, they are continuously improving the software and they listen to suggestions from clinicians.

Cons: It is difficult to get to some options. It is also difficult to include forms in a session if there is already a form filled out. There are glitches every so often which they try to fix quickly.

Overall: It has saved me a great deal of time in the administrative aspect of my employment. I am able to stay organized and it even gives me reminders if I didn't complete something for a client.

Pros: It is somewhat intuitive and it looks good, welcoming. I also like having the app for my phone. We like that you can schedule clients for repeating sessions two and three weeks between sessions regularly. The client portal is needed. We really like being able to do our intake packets online, and that we can change them up so easily. Love how when clients fill these out they are seamlessly put into cleint files and this shows in the client info.

Cons: The couple set up is terrible. And we are a couples counseling group practice. I can't even get each partner's phone number or email without going into two separate files. If I link them - find a way for me to contact both of them by seeing both of their contact info together. Also when i look thru my client list, it far too difficult to find my couples. If i mark them as couples and link them, let them show as couples in the client list. Many couples aren't married and do not have the same last name. It's just too hard to find them and to send both partners text messages or emails. I don't like texting or emailing individual partners - I need to send info to both at the same time. Very difficult to do presently.

By far the worst part of all of our experiences (8 of us) has been customer service. We need to talk or chat online to people that can help, not wait a full day or two to hear back. It's archaic. At least open up live chat asap!!!

Pros: I really like the easy to use calendar that allows clients to be notified of appointments via text and/or email. I also like the intake process in which clients can auto-sign documents and all documents can be personalized. I especially like the ability to set up auto-pay so that I no longer have to do this at the end of each work day.

Cons: I wish that you could customize the demographic page to include certain questions that are not currently present (i.e. religious preference, medications, and previous counseling).

Pros: Attractive. Looks like they are upgrading/changing consistently, the number of users hints they will be around for some time.

Cons: (1) The formatting of documents (my personalized consents, etc.) when I upload them into the system. They are unattractive and difficult to read. The alternative is to make my documents a PDF, but then it can't be a form clients sign. This is a big problem. (2) Sometimes I have difficulty finding what I am looking for. Switching from calendar back to the other side of the account isn't the best. (3) I have been unable to remove the cost for my services from the booking page. I've done some searches in "help" but have not found the solution.

Pros: Things seem very intuitive and things have been rather easy to figure out on my own. I'm also impressed by the knowledge base that brings up helpful information by just plugging in a few words. I also took an online class during my trial subscription and will definitely take advantage of more as I move forward.

Pros: My favorite feature is the ability to write my progress notes online and still meet HIPPA standards. I also love that I'm able to easily track payments

Cons: I wish the software had an iPad app. I'm sure one is being developed. But that's pretty much the only con.

Pros: Being able to use this comprehensive software is wonderful. Having access to clinical and administrative processes all in one place provides for an effective and efficient way to practice. I appreciate the psychotherapy note not being part of the record and the ability to edit if needed.

Cons: I have just run into a snag with setting SP up as a vendor. Hoping it all works out:) I have not used customer support but will be engaging them in this issue.

Pros: I can submit claims directly. I can change and view upcoming appointments. New and current clients can book via online. I can also chat with saftey through their HIPAA compliant and encrypted messaging portal with clients.

Cons: There are still more features I would like to see for instance, a reminder when you have seen a client over a time period, claims that have not been filed, a way to list all sessions clients have held with you or upcoming.

Overall: I am able to remain organized and more efficient.

Pros: I appreciate the ease of entering patients information, including downloading a photo of insurance cards, and the ability to access the patient several ways - i.e. from the calendar or patient name. Although I have not used the insight graphs yet, I anticipate those will be helpful in tracking practice information.

Cons: I previously used Athena health as part of a group practice and although SP is easier to use, there is no direct customer service which is what made Athena bearable! I have sent emails and customer service does respond, but usually takes 24 - 48 hours for turn around on questions.

Overall: Gained organization for my private practice especially with billing.

Pros: Because I am not the most technological savvy person, I am always a bit skeptical of anything new in that realm. I had used a financial software to manage the financial portion of my practice previously, which was frustrating and stressful. When I was investigating other options, I talked with other clinicians who shared with me their experiences with practice management software programs. Those conversations, coupled with online research, led me to Simple Practice. I took advantage of the free online consultation and was pleased with the coach and her patience with my questions. The video tutorials have been most helpful as well. Simple Practice has taken the most stressful part of my practice and made it manageable, resulting in my feeling more calm and sure-footed in handling this portion of my business.

Cons: I wish Simple Practice had a way of documenting group therapy with the participants' names and the ability to do the billing portion from that blocked off time.

Pros: Simple Practice helps me organize my work, keeps track of billing, I can access and do notes from my smart phone, and overall this system simplifies my practice!

Cons: i have not found a way to bill in increments of 15 minutes and have it charge that way. i would like to be able to add multiple products on the invoice but the options disappear

Pros: Easy to use, simple and clear visual appeal. The library of forms is very useful and helpful. I like the colors and layout of screens and LOVE the daily agenda sent to my email.

Cons: I'd like to see more intake forms to choose from (for example, for children and adolescents) as well as sample or easy to edit informed consent forms and explanations of counseling procedures and services for clients.

Pros: I like the convenience of scheduling, calendar management, pre-made emails which can be edited as I choose, custom intakes and progress notes, and ability to use Stripe as well.

Cons: I had a stiff learning curve as I tried to become familiar with the software, had a hard time finding things I needed within it, I made many mistakes, etc. After getting over that learning period and learning from my mistakes, I am feeling much better about managing my practice with SimplePractice. Now that I know where everything is and how things work, how to make the custom forms myself (good thing I was sick over the holidays so I could spend hours and hours working on them), etc., I know that the hard part is over! I am looking forward to a smooth experience going forward with my new practice. I will attend some of the free classes as new issues pop up which I may feel confused about.

Overall: SimplePractice is my partner is starting my new private practice. I am glad to be starting off paperless and to have everything I need in one place -- notes, billing, forms, scheduling, etc. I appreciate the good price as well!

Pros: The array of features makes Simple Practice a true practice management suite - not just an EHR. So far, it has been very easy to learn. I like being able to customize my forms. The one-to-one video call was very helpful as the rep was knowledgeable and professional.

Pros: The ease of online scheduling for my clients is a driving factor in my satisfaction with this product. I was also pleased with the ease of signing up for a Stripe account and how that service interacts with the program seamlessly to allow me to easily accept credit cards. When I had an issue with understanding how to use the scheduling section efficiently, the customer service by email was fast, friendly and efficient.

Cons: A little tricky to navigate all the details, although customer service was great the one time I asked for it.

Just committed to the system after a short free trial. Most of the features are very user friendly

Pros: Android app for providers, easy to use client portal, and an interface or GUI that makes using the SimplePractice system easy.

Cons: The interface with my google calendar could work a little bit better. I would like to be able to schedule non-practice events in my google calendar and have it block out the times if the busy option is checked. To do it now you have to use the SimplePractice calendar in google and your colors and location are are not kept on the google calendar page.

I can live with it this way and schedule from SP but it could work the way I want it to and be better.

Overall: Manage my hypnosis practice

Simple Practice is intuitive and provides the services I need to be HIPAA compliant and efficient.

Pros: Customer service -Michael was quick to respond and very helpful in guiding me to customize my usage.

Cons: I was unable to upload my intake and have it be writeable. I would prefer a lower cost, but the pricing is competitive.

Overall: HIPAA compliant communication, online booking, client portal with offering templates for initiating counseling to be completed online prior to first session, invoices and billing, tax records,electronic insurance claim submission, customized electronic records, and ability to send and store self created documents securely.

Great experience ! My patients are already complimenting the mobile alerts!

Cons: There were some additional templates centered around other specialties. I am providing ketamine Infusions for mental health do my needs are a bit different.

Pros: Pleasant interface. Clients like the client portal and find it interesting. The calendaring is probably the most helpful so far. Also billing moves along and reminds you who needs to be billed and who has paid.

Cons: That we can't link paypal, Square POS, Venmo. Nobody I know uses Stripe or whatever the pay portal is that SimplePractice uses. This means most of my billing has to be entered manually. Streamlining billing was one of my major motivations but SP fails on that account.

Overall: Simplified, partially automated scheduling.

Pros: The capacity to quickly create a superbill saves time. I love the drop down menu for note taking. It's enhanced my life greatly!

Cons: I'd love to have a bookkeeping feature. And the capacity to bill without being charged an additional cost.

Pros: appearance and ease of navigation - the customer service has been excellent, and I am encouraged that they are planning to add telehealth capability

Cons: price is challenging as a therapist, but I am hoping that the price will be be made worthwhile with the increased ease of running the practice

Pros: The ease of scheduling and providing access to my clients to schedule their appointments. Also, the ability to be on top of my billing and note taking. Accessibility of creating my own forms for signature. Having the affordable prices to add additional therapist in a future. The option to add forms and easily send them to my clients' portal. I like the idea of secure messaging. Overall, the flow and feel of the software is great compared to others.

Cons: Nothing. Hands down the best. I did not have any problems with the software. Maybe include a journaling section on the client portal for therapists and clients to review in session.

Overall: The ease of scheduling and getting my clients set up for treatment.

I've been using simple practice for about a month. Overall, it has been a great tool for my practice

Pros: I like that it has streamlined many aspects of running my business that were taking me a lot of extra time.

Cons: There are minor aspects I wish were different, including some difficulty finding certain documents on clients and not being able to do a form that is fillable and signable.

Pros: I like how easy it is to see all my client progress notes, demographics, treatment plans, and billing info all in one secure online platform. Being able to bill directly to insurance companies and to track payments is the main reason that I signed up for the service. Plus the ability for clients to sign forms online is a real benefit.

Cons: I hope that in the future Simple Practice will update it's mobile app to include customized progress note templates, treatment plans, and contact notes. In addition, it would be great to be able to bill for a home visit with one click that would populate the client's address in the CMS 1500 form.

Pros: Just beginning to use it, but haven't actually utilized with a real client yet. However, I hear from fellow friends that use it, that they love it. I imagine once I really get going with clients, I may find it easy too.

Cons: The forms and document section confuses me, as some of the forms are actually under the client portal tab.

Pros: I like how many functions SP offers and how easy it is to navigate. I like how many emails and forms are pre-populated so I can just review and change as needed. The forms and emails are easy to change.

Cons: It has taken me a bit to figure out how to do everything. I am struggling a bit with the mobile app on my phone. I cannot figure out how to get SP to show my personal appointments that I enter in google mail.

Overall: Easy to use, safer than using paper documents, overall will save me time in my practice

Pros: The fact that everything is in one place! While it's taking me awhile to maneuver around, I'm figuring it out and loving it!

Cons: I would like 24/7 customer support to help me out when I need it and to explain it more easily! I have trouble understanding some things, like invoicing and billing because I am completely new as a private practitioner. More help in that area would be appreciated!

Pros: I love that my focus of practice can be on my clients, and not around paperwork, record keeping, compliance, etc. Simple practice does the thinking for me!

Cons: I find the billing piece a bit unintuitive. I have had to sort through credits, and refunds and the platform doesn't feel easy in this realm.

Overall: I don't have to think so much! I don't have to guess so much! I feel supported in my practice by thinkers and therapists who have gone before me. A great thing to have!

Customer service was attentive and timely in response.

Pros: The professional and simplistic look of the program. The software guides you through inputting data which makes it easier to use overall.

Cons: There wasn't anything that I didn't like, it is just a different setup than my last program so I had to figure out where everything was but the software takes you through the process so it's easy to catch on.

Overall: Easy and quick billing, organized and safe client info, and format of print outs is easy to read.

Pros: I feel more confident interacting with clients regarding my ability to provide a professional and streamlined experience during our work together. I spend a lot less time managing papers and it's easier to keep track of my schedule and progress.

Cons: I would like more functionality while using the phone app. I would also like the capacity to share a live (editable over time) document with my clients rather than saving each draft and uploading it to their file.

Pros: So far, I'm enjoyed the ability to share documents with clients and have all demographic information directly embedded into the client profile. I appreciate the templates that are provided for policies and informed consent. I received a basic introduction from a support person and she has answered any relevant questions in a timely manner via email. I'm looking forward to using the automatic billing.
I also love the app where I can keep up with notes and billing and check my schedule without having to bring my computer to my office.

Cons: Since I'm new to the service, I'm having to spend a lot of time figuring out all of the features that are available to me. Other than than, I've been pretty happy so far.

Overall: Organization for my practice. Everything in one spot and fast, efficient insurance billing.

Pros: The interface is easy to use, clean lines make it look very professional, it is easy to know how your calendar is laid out.

Cons: I wish it was a little less expensive, but compared to other software, it is comparable. I just don't have a lot of startup income!
