Pros TickTick has an easy note feature that helps me quickly get down any thoughts or ideas that come to mind. I like this a lot because my process can be unconventional at times. We're often traveling and when we get to the site we sometimes still need additional research. TickTick is collaborative so it's good for a team but you can also keep things private if you choose. It's also good for people who like the GTD method (it's to help you work better if you hadn't heard of it). Cons No free trial for TickTick. I think almost everything I've ever used had some sort of free trial, rather it be 3 days or 30 days. Not offering one at all put a damper on my first impression of the app. I tried the free version though and it was so limited that there's not really much point in using it. With the paid version it was sort of hard to find things sometimes and there's still a cap on how many tasks you can have. I'd like a better menu with more categories or icons. Maybe a tips or questions feature too. October 14, 2022 4.0 TickTick is an incredible choice for most people. It is not a fully fledged high end project manager and probably not suitable for large corporations with extremely complex project tasks, but if you want a simple to use application that gives you everything you need to be able to keep on track this is an amazing option. Another positive is it syncs quickly, ALWAYS. So many of these apps that offer every bell and whistle often fail to sync properly, not with TickTick. Pros The speed. TickTick offers all the features most will ever need without over complicating things to such a point that using your task manager is a job in itself. I can not stress just how good the due date function is, I have used and tested nearly all task/project management app over the years and TickTick is by far the best for speedy date setting and changing. Cons I am not keen on how TickTick manages notifications for assigned tasks. If you are a collaborator in a list you will be notified of ALL tasks in that list even of they are assigned to another member. However I know this is a feature that is due to be added. June 28, 2022 5.0 TickTick has been the ONLY program (and I’ve tried many!) that has broken my “paper notes only” habit. It’s easy to use. It’s intuitive. It’s affordable. It’s a program that can easily be used in not only your professional work life/career, but can also be a huge asset in your personal life/social schedule organization as well. It bridges the gap between all sorts of different areas, and I genuinely love it. TickTick is actually the only to-do list app/program I’ve been able to introduce to my own mother, and have her use daily for her own to-do lists - because it’s just that easy. Pros This program is SO easy to use. I did not have to look up tutorials or "how-to" videos online in order to begin implementing it into my work day. In fact, it was so easy, I began using it for my work life AND my personal life, with great ease and efficiency. There are so many different ways to add, sort, and view your tasks. It's extremely user friendly, and intuitive, and that can't be said about a lot of programs I tried. Cons In all honesty, the only cons I have ever run into with TickTick were later discovered to be a user error on my part. This company has really thought it all through, and I love that. I guess one thing that I would like is for there to be an option on my watch to view ALL of my lists, and tasks, not just the ones that I've put a time limit on. We often have too much stuff to do and rarely we remember it all. So having a place to dump your ideas and tasks is a must. This way, when you write it down you can "forget about it", cause it's already there on the list and it will get done. Remembering something later on you should have done and didn't do because you forgot you had to do it just sucks. Pros I first came across this software through some Youtubers I follow. After trying it for a few weeks I was hooked, just a very easy interface to work on and very clean/minimal design make it easy to find stuff and work around the software. For a while I wasn't using most of the features it offered, but after I decided to learn how to use the product at its full potential, things changed. I started to get very organized and could separate topics inside my projects so I could track than better. TickTick also keeps on adding features, like the new Eisenhoward Matrix, which helps to see what's the most important things you NEED to get done first. But overall, what I really love about the software is the simple/minimalist interface design, just great to have and to keep a cluttered mind a more organized and peaceful place. Cons I really just wish they could implement a timeline visualization feature, it's the only things that's missing for me. Also, I have googled everywhere to see if there was a feature on how to change the font size on my mac laptop, but it doesn't exist, only if you change the system's settings, which I don't want to do. There should be a zoom/font size feature as well on preferences, that would make it much easier for me on the eyes and not having to change the whole system size, which looks too big. I rely on it daily and will continue to do so in the future. Please keep the software lean and usable. Pros This is the software which finally persuaded me to move away from carrying around physical, paper notebooks and start relying just on my phone and my computer as a to-do list. I like that TickTick is very powerful already in its free tier, I love that it's simple and polished, well designed and quick. It hasn't failed me once, unlike Wunderlist for example. It's great that I can find it on most of the platforms I use, as a standalone app, and not just a wrapped browser window - it shows skill and dedication by the developers which in turn makes me trust them more with my data. Cons The premium tier seems a bit too gamified for my taste. I don't need most of the premium features and I would like to remove all the nagging branding and icons. A better way, at least for me, would be to be able to have just a minimal free version and a separate premium one. Pros I love the calendar view and how I can view my day at a glance. The iOS calendar widget is especially useful for this and is fully interactive and allows me to check off tasks easily. Everything is synced perfectly between desktop and mobile, including notifications and reminders. The focus/pomodoro timer is excellent and allows you to track where you are spending your time. It's useful to see how much time is actually spent on a task vs what you predict. I love how customisable the iOS app is. It's easy to add tasks via voice note or natural language text. There are certain features you can turn on/off such as the Eisenhower matrix and a habit tracker. This is great as you can choose what features to use without clutter. I personally love the habit tracker. Cons I wish there was an option to push back/delay all scheduled tasks in one go rather than individually. There are competing apps offering similar featuresets, but only TickTick stuck with me because of the intuitive UI while being extremely fairly priced. Pros The Calendar feature that allows me to see all upcoming events (from my iCloud Calendar) and plan my tasks for the week around them. I can drag-and-drop tasks either to a day in the week so they will show up in the "Today" view or even plan exactly when I want to deal with them (e.g., 3pm). Cons Calendar sync via CalDav to my iCloud Calendar sometimes takes up to an hour to reflect changes I've done in the calendar, e.g. on my phone. Secondly, I cannot edit my calendar items in TickTick and have the changes show up in my phone' calendar app. This kind of two-way sync would be a killer feature for me personally. Also that it is multiplatform, for Android and PC, with good synchronization between all devices. Cons What I like least is that it has some pending improvements. For example, the habits widget is not editable, only for consultation, but you have to enter the app to record the tracking. It's also a shame that they don't include a time tracker for each repetitive activity, with good reports at the end of the day, week, month, year. Their blog does not provide much information and they hardly publish anything new. Although the app is updated every 3-4 months, the improvements are minimal, development is slow. The built-in Pomodoro timer helps me keep focus on each of the tasks and has increased my productivity significantly. Pros I absolutely love it that I can acces TickTick quickly from the top navigation bar. I can quickly add new task and tick the boxes on the one I have finished without opening the full app. I also like it that it has a built in Pomodoro timer with quick access, so I don't have to install another app. Ticktick is easy to use and has almost no learning curve. Cons TickTick is quite bare-bones and is lacking some basic features like subtasks and more advanced task scheduling.
