Pros: Legitimately one of the best remote connection tools I've ever used. The information the tool provides at a glance, the speed of the web UI, the amount of tools at your fingertips, the ability to setup personal and shared toolboxes to house files that can be run on targets in one click, ability to run cmd and powershell commands on filtered lists of machines, custom branding for the client and host side of the app, built in screenshot capability with screen selection, OCR that automatically queries Google in a sidebar, screen recording with heavenly compression ratios ... All of these features help solidify his tool as the best tool in my opinion.

Cons: Every once in a while a machine will go offline requiring connecting with another tool to reinstall the client software. I think it happened to about 3 devices a month out of thousands.

Pros: Fully branded URL is what initially drew me in, it works with PC, MAC and Linux, all Android and new Blackberry Phones which is perfect for what we need! i couldn't ask for a better piece of software! highly recommend to business of all sizes, with its new competitive pricing this has become a no-brainer!!

Cons: Unable to connect with IOS Devices (hopefully a features that's coming soon), one other issue is that it initializes a new session via download, so the admin ends up with X amount of download files a day.

Pros: There are so many great things about this. You can use multiple machines and click through screens quickly to pick what you want to put up for the meeting. It's simple to use. Even the highly unskilled can use this and is happy.

Cons: Zero complaints. This is easy and versatile. If I had to have one... too many updates. Maybe they could complete some updates into one less frequent update but that's a good bad problem.

Overall this product slightly exceeds my expectations.

Pros: Cost benefit is pretty good. I am able to provide support to my base for a reasonable amount per customer. I rely upon utilizing my smart phone for support and up until the legacy was discontinued I was very happy.

Cons: The Android app is terrible. The legacy android app which is no longer available was far superior.! I find that it is very cumbersome using the Android Connect Wise app. I find that I must setup my mobile notebook computer to do the same things I was able to do with the legacy ScreenConnect android app.

Pros: What I like most about ConnectWise Control is that it is fast, has remote command line, the toolbox, host passes, etc. Overall it is an amazing product that constantly gets better.

Cons: I do not feel it has any cons. I cannot think of anything that I like least about the product except for the constant downtime at 7pm eastern time. It is almost daily. I wish it would happen at 3am and not 7pm.

Overall: A lot of time back in my life.

Pros: Multiple customer connection methods allows this to function flexibly across environments with different levels of restrictions.

As standard this product provides features that their competitors offer only on their premium tiers.

The customisation features allow us to provide our own branding for the end user experience.

Their product has a smooth integration into the CRM we use for technical support.

Cons: To be honest it's difficult to criticise, they excel in all areas including those which I've found deficiencies with their competitors.

If anything I would say that there is a limit to how far you can customise, but arguably the provided customisation features are more than reasonable.

Straight forward product.

Pros: Connection is quick, I have yet to experience a drop out and the ability to switch between monitors (we have twin monitor environment) is a godsend when trying to view small dialogue boxes. Being able to manage a restart without being booted off and having to reconnect is very useful when troubleshooting.

Cons: Looking up a computer name to locate a user could be improved but otherwise I'm happy with the software.

Pros: After initial set up it is easy to use and to add new users and customer systems.
Good interface to enable multi-screen displays and the ability to send keyboard commands to remote systems, EG Ctl/Alt/Del.
The ability to group access and systems for users.
The ability to track user access to supported systems.

Cons: The inability to run Kaspersky antivirus, that is we cannot adjust the setting of Kaspersky when logged in to a system running Kaspersy, this is sometimes a real difficulty as we have a number of users running this application and we need to adjust, say, the firewall settings.

Pros: It's very easy to use and offers a great amount of features for IT technicians to provide remote technical support. Until discovering Connectwise, I was using a meeting tool to provide tech support which did not provide tech support related tools that I needed, such as reconnecting upon reboot, switching users, etc.

Cons: Sometimes it is difficult for users to connect to the session. It uses a specific URL and having to rely on endusers to put the URL into their browser and download/run the program can sometimes be a challenge.

Pros: We have ConnectWise set to deploy automatically with O365/Autopilot. Works great and makes it easy to support remote employees. The subscription paid for itself within a week. We use the agent as well as the on demand sessions.

Cons: We don't have a lot to compare too...we haven't found any major issues. There was a problem where, as a host, it would want to download the Connectwise software everytime you started a session, but I believe that has been resolved.

Overall: Our workforce is distributed in small offices across the Southwest US. We also have a number of remote users to work from home and in the field. This has greatly improved support.

Pros: Advanced features balanced with ease of use... this seems to be a tricky balance to strike as learned from using other solutions in the past. Also your help desk staff are fantastic.

Cons: It'd be nice if all billing options could be self-managed. Namely the ability to move between month-to-month & yearly options. I'm sure there's reasons for this limitation internally but this truly is the only negative I've encountered... a complement to the product ultimately.

Overall: Our help desk staff have been able to more easily assist customers who need the help the most. With past solutions, we found irony in a complex process to initiate a remote control session... if our users could easily traverse that process they likely wouldn't need the remote session to help with their root issue!

Pros: The abilities: unattended remote access is a huge bones, but still having the abilities to host a meeting and access a customers computer is great.

Cons: Moderately confusing sidebar once you have launched the screen share potion of the software. Nothing is intuitive, you have to work a little to figure out how to use it, UI could be improved in my opinion. smoother.

Overall: Untended Remote Access is the best feature. To get this combines with the other items the software does, would cost a fortune with any competitor, specifically TeamViewer. The price point of this software is unmatched.

Pros: the remote control is second to none, the extension capability is great. overall very good from the start

Cons: should be using ACME / letsencrypt (AWS now supports this) to allow customers to use HTTPS on Cname domains. extensions need to be kept up to date, freshdesk one specifically I noticed was behind so couldn't use it

Cons: There really is not anything I do not like. The company and support staff were all great. We have been pleased with all aspects of the program thus far.

Cons: I would like to see a way to brand our ConnectWise instance or fully use our domain instead of xxx.screenconnect.com.

Pros: Customer do need the software installed on there PC, remote connection to any PC can happen in less than a minute. Functionality of the software, you are able to use command lines remotely which I think is a plus for IT Admins. You can now set the duration of the connection which anther cool feature.

Cons: I reached out to support who still didn't get back to me about the issue with setting up future meetings. I am only able to set a meeting that starts immediately. The delay in support getting back to you or with answers is time consuming.

Overall good, missing several features the competition has that would be really nice.

Pros: Price, basic functionality works well. The software is reliable and decentralized. No hardware requirements.

Cons: I wish it had several features that have been in the "Planned" stage for over 2 or 3 years. Seams like they focus more on easy tasks for improvments, then really adding core features. Some examples are being able to transfer files without logging into the computer, interactive CMD prompt, being able to look at installed programs/updates/drivers/etc. These are all very usefull when your trying to do admin tasks in the background without interupting the users.

Overall: We use it for unattended access to servers and workstations. Literally never use the meeting or on demand remote support functions.

Pros: Does everything I need to support my small remote staff. I especially like the feature to download files. The reboot function is very useful.

Cons: I'd like to see changes to the interface. I find it a bit confusing. For example, it's not clear how to disconnect a session. All the functions are there, but I don't think the interface is as intuitive as it can be. Also, at times, there is a response lag that may be due to the server response. I tested TeamViewer before purchasing ConnectWise and TeamViewer seemed more responsive with a nicer interface.

Overall: Saves me travel time and expense. I can finally give my staff better support.

Pros: Excellent for remote control and file transfer. The meeting feature is a great tool included in a perfectly priced package. I love the all inclusive package without nickel and diming.

Cons: Very reliable, not perfect. Sometimes screen does not respond. After 10 to 15 seconds connectivity is restored. Waiting appears to be the best course of action when this occurs.

Pros: It's much cheap than other solutions like LogMeIn. Once installed it's relatively easy to centrally update the unattended client installs. Did I say it was cheap compared to LogMeIn? I use it mostly for IT administration and have LogMeIn for end user remote desktop. We could afford to use LogMeIn on all our end points so we only use LogMeIn on user PCs and ScreenConnect on all devices including servers and user PCs.

Cons: The client isn't as polished or easy to use as LogMeIn. The screen resolution is low and doesn't have an easy way to change it to match the client PC. The interface isn't as easy to use as LogMeIn.

Overall: It's relatively cheap compared to other solutions and works well enough. Updating clients remotely is very easy.

Pros: We'd been using a stand-alone product (TeamViewer) for years but with ConnectWise's recent push for integration with its Manage platform we took the plunge and couldn't be happier. The way our helpdesk can dive right into a support session from a ticket is great! It also has Slack integration too which we have running in a few channels on there as well.

Cons: For workstations that users call in for that may not already be in our helpdesk software (Manage), there can be a bit of a hassle guiding users to the installation but its not too bad and par for the course.

Pros: A powerful system with lots of features, I came from TeamViewer so it is a must of have "Access" clients. Plenty of times I need to remote into an unattended system without a user present.

Cons: The Android app really needs some work and I wish it worked more like the TeamViewer app, they have one of the best out there. I really wish you could easily have user specific unattended sessions. There are users we don't want to have access to the unattended systems and others that only need a few but to create a rule that allows restricted access requires a ton of work and each time a new person or role is created they have to be added or removed from all the different settings. Honestly, it is one of my biggest issues. I have a server which should only show up for 2 people int he office and yet to do that I would have to basically create a bunch of rules to do that instead of simple actions like saying... this computer should only be seen by this role.

Overall: It is cheaper than Teamviewer with basically the same features minus the stuff I mentioned on the previous page.

Pros: ConnectWise Control fka Labtech ScreenConnect is an easy to use remote control software where you're able to control any device (Windows and Mac) with r without a ConnectWise agent. There's also a meeting option in which you're able to share your own screen to the audience.

Cons: Functionality wise I'm not missing anything. But I hope that with this review more people get familiar with this software. Because when you're invite a customer to a remote control session, they first need to install the screenconnect.exe executable. And a lot of people doesn't recognize this name and sometimes questions the authenticity of it.

Pros: Quick deployment, easy controls, small program. This is great for use as a remote technician; I use it both through my daily 8-5 as a tech, and in my off-time for freelance. The free account I use is still very capable compared to the paid version my employer has.

Pros: Available anywhere from any machine. I've needed to access client computers from computers all over the world. Very handy when an emergency comes up.

Cons: Slower than software that allows direct connection to the client instead of through a server. Would like more granular display quality controls.

Pros: Quick connection., ability to save sessions, separate Access list of machines, speedy performance on remote sessions. Ability to launch via tickets in Connectwise Manage and have chats incorporated into the ticket.

Cons: I keep getting upgrade notifications, but upgrades do not succeed. I will have to call support to have this issue resolved. Also we are getting a pop-up alert that says "This is not British Telecom" and warns the users when they go to bthelpers.screenconnect.com

Hi Shri, thanks for your feedback. For the pop-up alert that was showing an issue, it looks like the URL was incorrectly flagged by our security team. The URL has been corrected and no longer will be flagged.

I use this everyday to maintain our computers on our office network. Makes troubleshooting easy.

Pros: The product is easy to use, fast, and has the ability to really narrow down how you want the system to look. The ability to see multiple screens remotely is awesome and the ability to zoom in on a certain screen makes the feature even better. Having full control of my systems from my office is great.

Pros: Ease of use, dashboard, easy deployment. I love having a website I can direct clients to to download a client or join a session.

Cons: Better support for printers & dual screens would be great. Unfortunately we still use LogMeIn on a few heavily used machines because of this.

Overall: Helping my clients from afar instead of having to travel to their site saves myself and my client money.

Pros: Absolutely love the functionality of ConnectWise and all of the extras that are provided. An example of this is the toolbox which allows you to place scripts and files in for quick use when on a remote session. This has solved my endless search for an all in one remote management service. The additional perk of being able to host meeting sessions is also a plus!

Cons: There is no mobile applications. This would make this service 100% for me as I am always on the run and sometimes with my iPad and not my laptop.

Pros: Love the compatibility of multiple Platforms. Works on almost any network and is very quick and secure. The toolbox feature can be a life saver!

Cons: Wish you could change the name of the person logged in or account that sends the links from Cloud Account Administrator.

Hi Andrew, thanks for your feedback on ConnectWise Control! You can change the name of person logged into your account, but you first have to create a role for yourself, then change the display name. There is documention on this as well. https://docs.connectwise.com/ConnectWise_Control_Documentation/Get_started/Administration_page/Security_page/Define_user_roles_and_permissions/Create_a_new_user_role

Pros: IT level admin capability. It is nice and flexible, easily adding workstations.

Cons: We had one workstation that was data intensive, and it seemed to clog up the whole operation and require regular reloads. Since we stopped using the workstation all the others performed much better

Pros: Easy to use. It has a nice sharp and vivid screen view. I've also used it to issue commands on the Mac which has proven helpful.

Cons: I don't like that it runs on Java. Also wish it was easier to restrict certain computers from specific techs.

Hi Ileana, thanks for your feedback! With restricting certain computers from certain techs, you are able to restrict certain computers from different techs by creating a session group.

Pros: Using this tool to assist and manage computers remotely is crucial to my business. The user interface is pretty straight forward to use and no significant limitations of functionality have been noted.

Cons: The only issue I've run into is the ability to pull up only computers that have sent messages. Having to scroll through all the computers to find which one has the indicator that it has a message is a bit annoying.

Overall: Easily access and manage a large number of computers remotely.

Vendor Response

Hi Wesley, thanks for your feedback! You can filter off of unread messages and create a session group to make this easier. Also, you can download the desktop notifications extension which may make it easier to handle messages as they come in.

Pros: I like that it had a lot of options and is very powerful software. It has been around a while and it's very full featured and functional.

Cons: Honestly, the biggest downside of ConnectWise control for me was the price. I'll actually probably end up using it when my business is bigger and it makes more sense to use it.

Pros: Fast and easy to use for both admin and customer.
Good pricing
Highly customizable
Supports all major OS including mobile for both admin and user.

Cons: Self hosted option pricing is too high
Android app issues (fix is in the works) but can't come soon enough.
Missing true CNAM support. Can do a redirect, but would be nice to fully support alternate DNS name.

Overall: Too many to list! Major time saving, quick support, etc.

Pros: What I like the most about the software is the ease of use for my technicians and my clients. Easy to manage and organize as well.

Cons: Sometimes to simple. Not enough ability in the software. I needed to be able to manage contracts and payment terms as well as the remote control

Overall: easy access to my customers when using remote control

I use it to render tech support. I'm the only user, and it does what I need it to do pretty well.

Pros: Easy to setup, easy to use. The interface is easy to understand. I haven't run into too many problems.

Cons: Sometimes can be difficult to connect, if the person whom I'm trying to connect with has a lot of security on their network.

Overall: It allows me to render tech support to people who work outside my company. That's all I ask it to do, and I'd say it does it well.

Pros: Point, click, connect.
The annotation and toolbox are nice for quick resolutions and training for users.
Copy keystrokes and password auto entry are also very nice.
Integration with Connectwise Automate is a huge plus.

Cons: Chat can linger from old sessions so having the ability to clear this on the fly would be nice.
Services on Server can sometimes crash and takes a long time to come back online.

Long Time User, ScreenConnect is a Time Saver and Efficient.

Pros: Pretty straight forward software. It is made for remote support and has evolved over the years to be nearly bug free and "just works".

Cons: At times the interface can be a bit unwieldy or not too intuitive, but that is a minor quibble. Have use the software for probably 10 years from the early days.

Overall: Time Saver, Easy to assign roles to technicians. Can host your own server or have it hosted for you. Would absolutely use this software over ANY other competitor.

Pros: I use ConnectWise to remotely support our field employees. It works very well for this purpose. We were using another remote support software that cost much more. The ConnectWise software works just as well or better than our previous software.

Cons: There was a small learning curve to get the service set up initially. I think some users could have trouble with this if they have not previously used a remote support tool.

Overall: I am able to remotely support our field personnel who live in different parts of the country from our office.

Much better experience than LogMeIn.

Pros: The software is intuitive enough that most users can pick it up without reading the user guide (who reads support emails, anyway?). Lag free response for connected users. Excellent pricing, especially as compared to LogMeIn, who keep jacking up their prices. Quite a bit of flexibility in configuring connection parameters

Cons: Cannot block copy to CW server... my staff do large excel local copies on guest machine which causes CW to hang until it makes copy to cloud. Screen blanking has issues on some Dell desktops. Obviously created originally for support roles as opposed to user remote access roles, and it would be good to do a rewrite of the user/roles/session group assignment to make it easier to manage... rather kludgy right now.
