We can now watch all of our favorite shows at our overseas location. I like the security protection as well. Pros I love that I can watch all my favorite streaming services. It is so easy to use and a great value so that it can be used on all of our devices. Cons The only issue is sometimes it will block the internet from being used. Manager Automotive Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "A VPN that works for really any use case" July 11, 2026 5.0 What I use it for is mostly side project work and keeping things a little more private when I am handling dealership business on the go, it has done the job well. It is not the cheapest option out there but it has been dependable, easy to use and it has not caused me any real headaches outside of the price. If you want something simple that just works without a lot of thought this fits the bill. I would just go in knowing you are paying a bit of a premium for that simplicity. As a bonus I noticed if I set my location to a different country and try and watch some of my streaming services it’ll show me new shows or movies I don’t have in the US. Pros I started using ExpressVPN mainly for my side projects since I do a lot of scraping and research work that needed a cleaner way to switch locations without getting blocked. It has been surprisingly reliable for that. Connection speeds are solid enough that I do not notice much of a slowdown even when I am running multiple tabs or tools at once. I also use it on my work laptop when I am dealing with dealership stuff on public wifi, like when I am at an auction lot or a coffee shop finishing up paperwork, since I do not love the idea of financial details or customer info going over an open network. The app itself is simple. You open it, pick a location and you are connected in a few seconds with no weird settings to mess with. It also works across my phone and laptop without me having to buy separate licenses for each device which is nice since I am jumping between personal projects and dealership work all day. Cons The price is honestly the biggest downside. It is one of the more expensive VPNs out there and renewal pricing jumps up quite a bit after the first term, which feels a little sneaky if you are not paying attention. Some websites and services also flag VPN traffic and will throw extra verification steps at you which gets annoying when I am just trying to get something done quickly for the dealership. There have also been a few times where a specific server location was slower than expected, so you sometimes have to bounce between a couple servers before finding one that runs smooth. I am also able to access any website now which was problematic before because of geological cutoffs/restrictions. The most important factor to note though would be that I also never suffer from bandwidth-throttling anymore, all of this happened when I started using ExpressVPN, it is a must-have. Pros ExpressVPN works the fastest and is by far the safest way to surf anonymously online. They have worldwide, extensive coverage that consists of over 3000 servers based in 90 locations so connectivity speed is never an issue. It did take a while to adjust to my system at first, like my Gmail account would not open up because it was reading a different location from what it was used to so it just straight-up denied me access altogether. It is also useful in viewing content that is regional specific or logging into work networks that require a local IP address as you can select what region you want to be in. Even the simple included Speed Test is a nice touch for making sure your VPN is an optimal distance from your actual location. Cons The only drawback is the price.
