Pros

  • PINC is a great product that is easy to navigate. This system helps not only with locating equipment but also the inventory of the equipment.

  • I like how there's so many helpful features. Everything has it's own asset.

  • My Experience with PINC is really good. Yard managing is very great and also the other functions to it like the history of trailers and the timeline for the yard.

  • He spent the weeks leading up to the rollout on site with us and felt like a member of the staff. He follows up regularly and is the main driver behind the success of our implementation.

Cons

  • Sometimes it's not updated with our other software. Doors are shown to be empty when they aren't.

  • It does not show inbound and outbound. Once an Outbound trailer is marked as OB the inbound information disappears.

  • One of the things I don’t like about the system is the drivers cannot talk back through the system to the inside supervisors.

  • Nothing that I can think of at the moment that can make me dislike using this software, or possibly want to change it.

"Pioneering a new way to automate"

Overall: Overall I am pleased with the experience with utilizing the PINC solution. I marked down the customer service portion, but that is more reflective of accounting issues or engineering delays. Our project manager was\is amazing. He spent the weeks leading up to the rollout on site with us and felt like a member of the staff. He follows up regularly and is the main driver behind the success of our implementation. PINC has become a named portion of our IT landscape.

Pros: The PINC application has made it possible to automate a process that was performed either manually or on home grown applications that were difficult to manage, weren't robust, and were prone to failure. We worked with the engineering team at PINC to develop an automated process where our sequence requirements were generated by us, transmitted to PINC, and then to our over the road carriers and yard drivers. The visibility of the containers in the application has become an integral part of our operation.

Cons: The ability to change the yard configuration or to verify receipt of data can be cumbersome. The engineering team is willing to work with us, but the team appears to be small which means you can get the feeling of being in a "take a number" situation. The turnaround time on changes can often take longer than my management expects, but we are usually asking for significant changes.

Reasons for Switching to Digital Yard: We needed something more robust, stable, and up to date with current technology. We also increased our production by a large volume and needed a better solution.

"Thinking about a new or better YMS for your facility? Start here...."

Overall: This system gets an "A" grade for ease of use, reporting capabilities, increased productivity from yard team, automated reporting to carrier partners. The support team, no matter digital or mechanical, are always 100% available to solve issues. You call or email, you get a reply.... quickly. A+ for that team.

Pros: Ease of use. From the time an asset enters the yard until the time it departs, you know where it's located, how long it's been here, what's on it, and what will be used for in real time! All done on a system that is very user friendly. Carrier access. With your carrier partners having access, they can help manage their fleet within your yard leading to quicker turns and increased productivity for both entities.

Cons: The reporting capability is outstanding. However, some configurations require in-putting same parameters over and over again during a "page back" situation.

"Yard Management or is it Warehouse Management"

Overall: Content customer, improved yard moves from what we believe was 6/hour to 9/hour, on average.

Pros: Yard visibility - both jockeys and assets

Cons: Fragile system, limited reader distance/scope

" Yard management usage "

Overall: I thought my overall experience starts at the top. The support team at PINC is outstanding. As long as we have been with why YMS I have never experienced a bad experience but call in the Support system . They are always helpful and insightful. I’m sure there is still more to know about the system that would benefit both the support team and the customer. I welcome any opportunity to participate in brainstorming or more feedback. I have enjoyed the system and I believe it’s a great value to our customers.

Pros: One of the top things that is really good about this system . It is right there inside the cab of the truck . Very visible for the driver driver friendly easy to read and understand. less noise to and from the customer. Easy to keep the yard updated on where assess are. Allows the drivers the opportunity to find equipment a lot faster. It also allows the crew to work better as a team.

Cons: One of the things I don’t like about the system is the drivers cannot talk back through the system to the inside supervisors. It would be nice if the driver could type a message into the system back to the leads in regards to locating or not being able to locate a trailer. This would give more clarity to the system .

"PINC YMS"

Overall: The product has worked well for us. It provided the flexibility of installing the passive RFID tag option for the larger, more complex and high velocity operations, as well as, a lower cost cellular tablet option for the smaller, less complex operations. We were able to lower our overall cost of yard management and greatly improve our yard visibility.

Pros: The ramp-up, installation & training went well on all 5 of the sites we have launched with PINC over the last 9 years.

Cons: Working through the required configuration elements, but, the efforts were necessary and expected.

Reasons for Choosing Digital Yard: After a thorough review of the 6 YMS vendor products, the project team unanimously selected PINC. The features, reporting, tracking and product maturity were large factors along with the flexibility of launching with the "passive" RFID tag version , or, the lower cost cellular tablet version for the less complex sites.

"PINC"

Overall: PINC is very beneficial to my work area. It's very well organized and very easy to get the hang of. It's also self explanatory. When there has been issues, it's so quick to get resolved.

Pros: I like how there's so many helpful features. Everything has it's own asset. T he Status box shows the asset state as it travels through the yard. Each time the asset completes an operation in the Inbound and Outbound content boxes, the asset state changes. Such as : Movement Type, such as Outbound or Inbound. Load Status, such as Empty or Loaded. Handling Method, such as Drop or Live. It's a very handy tool.

Cons: Sometimes it's not updated with our other software. Doors are shown to be empty when they aren't. Program can run slow at times.

"Reviewing our experience with the PINC Yard System"

Overall: I was satisfied with the system processes. It helped to enhance our yard system and gave us the ability to track and trace trailers.

Pros: The ability to research trailers from initial arrival to departure, and the ability to track from door to yard.

Cons: Not being able to update carrier scacs systematically without contacting PINC.

"Chemours and PINC YMS system "

Overall: Very good experience and great tool to allow us understand how to manage our equipment on site.

Pros: Ease of configuration, knowledge of the implementation team and the fact that they scoped the project and they created the project, training and installation plan. We just followed the plan and everything was done.

Cons: Nothing at this point it's met all of our needs and we continue to enhance our understanding of it's capabilities.

"Operations Lead 2nd Shift Review"

Overall: The reports were amazing for finding lost trailers and keeping track of shipments.

Pros: It was very intuitive and the RFID tagging worked great.

Cons: I would like to eliminate some of the scrolling and fit all of the drop down/text boxes on to one screen, but that's about it.

" moving "

Overall: i rate this system a 7 because it could use work on the moves.

Pros: i like easy it is to use this network for my job .

Cons: the movements are not that accurate . i would have expected it to be better

"Best pinc"

Pros: Helps with letting us know exactly what is in our yard to get the correct trailer put in our doors.

Cons: When it goes down we don't have a way to know what we have

"Yard Management Made Easy "

Overall: PINC is a great product that is easy to navigate. This system helps not only with locating equipment but also the inventory of the equipment. The summary page is the greatest tool when you are busy to go back and make sure everything was entered in correctly.

Pros: The way the PINC system can keep track of the equipment when it gets moved is my favorite feature. It helps when you need to know where a trailer got dropped.

Cons: The integration period was my least favorite part because it was like doing the job twice.

"PINC YMS"

Overall: Overall we have been well pleased with the PINC YMS. It is a must have tool on a daily bases now.

Pros: The maps, live views, easy of moving trailer on yard, and the easy of the yard checks

Cons: The guard log. It does not show inbound and outbound. Once an Outbound trailer is marked as OB the inbound information disappears.

"Would Recommend "

Overall: Warehouse leadership now has visibility on trailer moves in process and moves scheduled to make more accurate decisions throughout the night.

Pros: Real time visibility Streamlines communication between warehouse and yard spotters Ability to run reports to track driver performance

"PINC & JDA"

Overall: My Experience with PINC is really good. Yard managing is very great and also the other functions to it like the history of trailers and the timeline for the yard.

Pros: It is very accurate when it comes to yard management.

Cons: PINC and JDA sometimes does not communicate to each other. Therefore, it needs to improve on communicating.

"Could not function without it"

"PINC System Success"

"PINC "

Overall: Visibility of Assets, easy check in and out.

Pros: Ease of use, and visibility. Flexibility with various computer platforms.

"PINC has been working excellent! Great way to keep up with every truck that enters our gate."

Pros: It's easy to navigate to each tab to input data, and to look up information pertaining to gate entries, reports, assets, user id's, or updating important information.

Cons: Nothing that I can think of at the moment that can make me dislike using this software, or possibly want to change it.
