Cons It is a good app but i had some problem with digital signature, when i tried to signature make error sometimes. It is also multiplatform which is useful. Pros It's free. Creating PDF files is as simple as printing and selecting the PDFCreator print device and specify a filename and location to save. Cons At some point they started including adware with the package which was frustrating. As long as you are cautious during install it is fairly easy to avoid installing unwelcome extras. It is a powerful tool for the office. Pros What I like most about this software is that it is very easy to create PDF documents with it. Anyone can do it. It does not occupy much space or require so many resources to our computer equipment. I also like the compatibility it offers with other document editing programs. Marketing Director Telecommunications Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "PDFCreator is no substitution for the real thing" May 28, 2021 3.0 I gave PDFCreator a trial run to see if I could replace Adobe with it, but after using it for a few weeks, I determined that the cost was not worth the hassle of the new implementation. Some folks out there might find it helpful and useful, but I did not. Pros The cost compared to Adobe's offering is really the only answer. A few months ago, I was tasked with trimming the software budget of my department by 30 percent. One of the biggest culprits is the Adobe Suite. We pay quite a bit of money for Adobe among the users in my department, and several licenses are out there for employees who didn't really need them. I decided to give PDFCreator a try to see if I could move some of my people to a less expensive option while allowing them the ability to continue to work in PDF. Cons Where to start? The features are not as a crisp and concise as Adobe. The UI/UX is not friendly. The options are difficult to master. The software itself is not as responsive or quick as Adobe, even as bloated as it is. Reason for choosing PDFCreator Cost, but we eventually went back to Adobe. Pros I was thrilled when I started using this software. A one stop solution to all my pdf needs. The best feature I like is Print to Pdf feature of the software. I can convert almost anything to pdf with it and that too in desired formating and quality. Cons Updating process creates problems at times. It is always an option to save an item as PDF or print an item to PDFCreator which then creates the PDF. Some might say well I can do that without the software but what they don't know is how much finer control the user has over various aspects of the pdf to be created such as quality and file size. Cons Unless you go exploring, you really don't know the full potential of PDFCreator. Once you do figure things out, you will think of a dozen reasons to use the software more often. Pros Has any feature I ever needed from a pdf creator/reader software. Can add highlights, comments and bookmarks. The way tools work is intuitive, as is the way tools are divided into menus. Never failed to open a pdf I received, and also never created a defective pdf. The created pdfs usually have small size while maintaining good resolution. Cons It would be really a stretch to point faults in PdfCreator, for the experience I have with it in proofreading. It is likely that some very specific or intensive uses could find some issue, especially related to heavy and very high definition images, but that is to be expected from any pdf software, and should be more dependent on the hardware of each computer. Pros It is super quick and simple to use, very user friendly. I've mainly used the print-to-pdf feature and the combine existing pdfs feature. Cons When using print to pdf, I wish that there was some way to customize aspects like where to break between pages. It'd also be nice to be able to only turn parts of the page into a pdf. If you are Control over how the final pdf looks is pretty limited to just factors like paper size and margins, which can sometimes end up looking awkward or waste a lot of space. Since this program only creates and doesn't edit pdfs, there is no way to fix such issues with this software. However adding options for where to trim or make page breaks during the initial dialogue boxes would fix this problem without needing to turn it into a full fledged editing program. Also, when combining pdfs, there should be a way to scale pages to be the same size. Even if both pages you are trying to combine have the same dimensions (like 8.5" x 11"), if they have different resolutions (like one is 150 dpi and the other 300 dpi), the new file will show one page twice the size of the other. Pros It is software that creates the document in a PDF file, it would consider a printout of the virtual or digital document, you can save it in your desired folder and then if you only need to print it out. The document is fixed, without any misconfiguration. I use PDF Creator software a lot, at the moment I don't have a physical printer and I create my documents and save them for use.
