### ""A versatile tool for interacting with PDF documents""

May 14, 2024

4.0

Adobe Acrobat Reader's functionality, usability, and security makes it a good tool for interacting with PDF files.

Pros

One of the things I like most about Adobe Acrobat Reader is its comprehensive set of features for viewing and interacting with PDF documents.

Cons

One aspect that some users may find challenging about Adobe Acrobat Reader is its occasional tendency to consume significant system resources, especially when working with large or complex PDF files. This can lead to slower performance or occasional lag, particularly on older computers or devices with limited RAM.

### "Pros & Cons of Adobe Reader"

October 17, 2018

4.0

Adobe is most known for its highly controversial media format Flash and its extensive line of multimedia editors but one interesting piece of software that mostly works in the background is Adobe Reader this piece of software is useful for viewing PDFs and Industry standard for clean secure documents, now adobe has release the reader the Android platform and provides an option to read documents on your phone, it offers a page to page view just like it's pc counterpart, the rendering was fast but still not as smooth as I would have hoped, perhaps the most interesting option is the Reflow auction, once this option is selected, it automatically reformat the file to fit comfortably on the screen, if you are still hesitant you can still enjoy pinch to zoom capabilities in the normal page view but the new feature is handy, overall the experience is simple and basic but it does the job nicely.

Pros

When a PDF is created, the program stores every detail and part of the format within the same file including the images, the space, images and sources, this eliminates one of the obstacles to share documents since the other types of files require that the other computers have installed the same sources and with the risk of losing the format when they open in a different program, the files can be seen and used in the same way as in any computer when it opens regardless of whether it is Windows, Mac OS or mobile devices.

Cons

Locked documents, users who open the PDF file can not edit the file, the program allows users to complete forms in their files but can not change the text or format. This makes the files a bad choice to save them as drafts or to use it within a team, unless everyone has the program installed, as an alternative solution you can work on a file in another program initially and convert it to PDF later.

### "Adobe Reader is a best-in-class free PDF viewer"

January 13, 2020

5.0

Adobe Reader DC is a nice go-to PDF viewer. It's as good or better than comparable other free options, and deserves a place as the "default" viewer for most users. However, the real robust experience is only available to paid users.

Pros

Very intuitive interface for both viewing and editing. The "recent" opening screen makes accessing pertinent documents a cinch. Adding pages, re-ordering pages, adjusting some text are always about as easy as they should be. Other enhanced PDF functions feel native to Acrobat: adding signature, fillable forms, etc. The look of documents makes it easy to see what is editable and what is not. Ability to convert documents easily is very helpful in an office environment.

Cons

The more robust features are only available in the paid versions. The editing functions in Acrobat make a lot of sense, head and shoulder above other more complicated PDF editors. The free version is still very useful, with a nice layout, but doesn't stand too far above other free viewers, like Apple's Preview.

### "Adobe Acrobat Software Review"

July 11, 2020

4.0

For a research lab, we use Adobe Acrobat frequently to fill state permits, sign forms, and complete contracts. With us still open during the pandemic, the need to do this digitally is critical. Therefore, it's invaluable to have this software license available for all the workers.

Pros

I find Adobe Acrobat is the to-go software for anything PDF related, and should be used for anything containing sensitive/personal data, and as well as for a professional setting. I mainly use it for its PDF editing feature, which I appreciate is tailored towards administrative needs--adding electronic signatures, checking boxes, and inserting text. I like the e-signature feature's convenience a lot, as Adobe saves the signature and you can click, drag, and adjust the dimensions as needed. It is definitely needed for my workplace, and there's not really any other feasible alternatives.

Cons

I dislike the price and the fact that the software is a subscription-based service. The majority of the colorful features and uses of Adobe Acrobat isn't of much use, and it would benefits from having an alternative "Lite" version that meets the essential needs (Add e-signatures, add text boxes, and export as pdf) while being more affordable. While Adobe does its job well, it feels like a monopoly on the price since no other software is much of an option.

### "The elder statesman of PDFs is struggling to keep up..."

June 17, 2019

4.0

The only reason we use the Acrobat software is to make turning in field tickets easy. Typically, it works well. However, or field techs all use iOS devices which have a habit of corrupting the forms. Other than that, it's great.

Pros

For the most part, the software is solid, stable and usually does what it is supposed to.

Cons

Over the years, the bloat has gotten out of control. As with many old school staples, in trying to keep up, they just keep adding more and more. In the process, what used to be an almost universal file format now is liable to get corrupted moving simple Acrobat created forms from iOS back to any other platform. Adobe blames Apple and Apple blames Adobe. Seeing as how the format is Adobe's, the form was created with Acrobat Pro; this is Adobe's issue to handle. Not to mention after installing this software (or really, any current Adobe software) you end up with so many extra processes running (updater, software verification, etc...) that are almost impossible to remove, you almost have to qualify it as malware. At the end of the day, you really don't have much choice. There are other options, but none that are truly cross-platform.

### "A Must-Have Program for Work"

May 18, 2019

5.0

I have used Adobe Reader DC for many years for both personal and business use, and I absolutely love it. I convert all of my files to .pdf in order to conserve the format, and the program makes it very easy and user-friendly to edit them as I need. Highly recommend.

Pros

I love this program. It has such a simple and visually pleasing interface, and it's incredibly easy to use. The free version comes with a lot of useful functionality, such as the fill&sign feature that allows you to easily place a signature on the document. The paid versions have even more useful tools, like the ability to add hyperlinks. I used this when designing my resume to great effect. It is also incredibly convenient due to the fact that .pdf is such a widely accepted document format. I highly recommend this program.

Cons

Not necessarily a con, but to get the full use out of this program it really is necessary to have the paid version. It allows you to do so much more in terms of editing, but for basic use the free version does get by.

### "The standard for viewing PDF documents"

January 9, 2019

5.0

Adobe Acrobat Reader has long been the standard in viewing PDFs. The latest DC version has proven to be a fast and reliable program. By using Adobe's Software Distribution agreement for Acrobat Reader DC, it is quite simple for admins to deploy reader across the organization. Overall, there has been no real reason to move to an alternate application.

Pros

Acrobat Reader has long been the standard for viewing PDF documents, which has led to the application being very stable and constantly updated. Since it is a free application, obtaining and installing the application is simple. There is also next to no configuration involved after deployment, which is a big plus.

Cons

Being a free application, there are some limited features that one could only get by upgrading to Acrobat Pro DC. That is not necessarily a con for the program itself, but since Acrobat Reader DC has many "buttons" for some of these advanced features, users will get prompted to sign in or purchase a plan, which can cause some confusion or frustration with users.

### "Still the most reliable trusted PDF reader software"

January 9, 2018

5.0

Free PDF viewing, annotation, signature, form filling, and printing capabilities.

Pros

Acrobat Reader remains the free standard choice for viewing, printing, filling out forms, and signing pdf files. The software operation is very basic and requires minimal training. Whenever I use Acrobat, I am confident that the document I am viewing is safe. Having a reliable PDF reader that can be view on computers, tablets, smartphones, etc. is a must in today's business world.

Cons

If a document is large or contains many photos, Acrobat will begin to run sluggish. It will take very long to scroll through a document or parts or parts of the document will disappear from the pdf as you scroll through. This is an issue that happens frequently with devices connected over a mobile network. We encourage our sales people to use a wifi connection when viewing PDF files because of this issue. We have also had issues with form information not saving and transferring properly. Some of the documents we are required to fill out can be lengthly and we have lost several when transferring back to the person that orignally sent us the forms.

### "Acrobat Reader DC is a new and refreshed version of the PDF reader we know and love!"

October 6, 2021

5.0

Pros

I have used Adobe Acrobat Reader as my default PDF reader for years, and I am thankful for Acrobat Reader DC as a new and improved version of the program! I found the old Acrobat Reader to be big and clunky, and I think Acrobat Reader DC has a simpler, lighter interface that is quick and easy to use, and it doesn't consume too many system resources. I like how it runs directly in the browser or on the desktop, and the user interface is great!

Cons

What I like least about Acrobat Reader DC is its lack of additional functionality which many other PDF readers have. Acrobat Reader DC doesn't allow me to do anything but view the PDF, and I wish it gave me more options for annotating, modifying, editing, and revising PDFs. I also wish that it allowed me to compress and combine PDFs -- my only complaint is that I wish it did more!

### "Acrobat Reader Dc: A great tool for viewing, editing and redesigning pdf files"

December 26, 2018

4.0

I have been using this software throughout my school life and whenever i need to read any pdf file anywhere , it has serve it's purpose for me, i personally want to thank the Adobe team for bringing such a wonderful reading tool for us, we expect more updates from them and more functionalities on the software.

Pros

Adobe Acrobat reader has been active for a very long time now but people don't actually know the usefulness of this amazing software tool, with acrobat reader you can view portable document files(PDFs), you can edit existing files, you can change document type from one format to another, and do so much more, it has a very clean and simple user interface that makes it easy to use and very straightforward, what i like most about this software is the ability to group any pdf into chapters and display them at the side of your reading pane, thereby making it easy to switch from one chapter to another with a single click on the side of your screen, this software is one of the best document viewing softwares out there and a software you don't want to miss on your computer.

Cons

Well i have to admit that acrobat reader has been a very helpful and wonderful tool, but the design of the software should be more appealing than it is, although keeping things simple rocks, but the Adobe team can do better than this regarding the user interface design.

### "Adobe Reader DC is very recommendable despite some disadvantages"

December 24, 2019

4.0

Adobe Reader DC was very powerful and useful with its own updated functions during my academic research work. Despite I used a free trial version, I could have used the advantages of the software to check the final texts of the research topics and to make some editing changes to them. With this software, I was able to finish my work so fast by using the astonishing editing features.

Pros

1) Great opportunity to export pdf files into other formats 2) Easy way to edit files comprehensively 3) Reliable security features for files 4) No difficulties to install the software 5) Very helpful feature to attach your signature to the files

Cons

1) Sometimes, to open the software may take some time and it can make your computer works slow 2) For beginners, to learn how to use features can be a bit hard 3) To have some useful editing features only exist in a subscription version 4) Sometimes, you may have difficulties to contact the customer service 5) Have difficulties to save documents as an original name. I had to rename them often.

### "Real way to preview and comment documents"

April 1, 2019

5.0

It has improved the process of giving feedback to the team. Adding notes and highlighting content is actually fun, quick and easy. As files can be opened almost everywhere (and that's literal because the browser's extension is in every computer I've used, in case you don't want to use the desktop app) you won't find limitations sharing them.

Pros

How lightweight it is and it's free! It's incredible efficient to add comments and highlight parts, especially since the document's content cannot be edited so no risk of editing something by accident. It's also perfect when you're going to a presentation and you're not sure if they have other office suit installed. Just make sure to import your presentation as PDF and Acrobat Reader will do the trick without problem. I also love how documents feel like you're reading the actual pages, much more organized. It can include from regular text to images and music scores and much more. Everything is there just as the author wanted it to be when the document was created in whatever software it happened--so many programs have the ability to export as PDF!

Cons

It cannot open files from other main office software without a converter, which basically means you always need to convert other formats to PDF. It isn't that painful if you can request the author to export as PDF directly. If you can't then you'll be in a hurry.

### "Great PDF reader."

May 7, 2019

5.0

My overall experience with Acrobat Reader is great. When you put into consideration that the program is free it's ease of use and other features such as how small and non demanding the software is really pop out and it really does look like a great piece of software, which it surely is.

Pros

Acrobat Reader is a great free tool that you will use on a daily basis. It's easy to use and offers so much considering that is free. For an example you can easily go through a PDF book on your PC or mobile device and mark the interesting facts or put comment remarks for future reading. Another great feature is it's ability to sign documents with your digital signature certificate legally exchanging the hand written signature where needed.

Cons

Even though Acrobat Reader is a great free tool it's paid version is far superior and me having used both can't get over that fact. So Acrobat Reader is a great free tool for PDF reading and document signing but if you plan on editing documents you will have to pay for it.

### "Another essential tool for the corporate environment"

July 10, 2018

5.0

Adobe Acrobat Reader is an excellent software that simplifies and reduces considerably the resources that have to be spent to keep a company afloat; I specifically refer to the issuance of paper, classified information, legal documents, assistance formats, information filling list among other things that this program knows how to synthesize without losing its quality and the veracity of the texts made.

Pros

Adobe Acrobat Reader has been with me for many years in my training process and currently does it in my work process, leaving me only excellent impressions among which we have a widely used and recognized format that is PDF, large amounts of information that had to be carried before in many sheets, it can now be carried on a PC, Android, IOS, or tablet device, in the way, easier and simpler. In addition to this, the PDF format can be opened in any computer.

Cons

One of the most negative aspects that I see of PDF formats is that their editing is very cumbersome, you have to use special programs that can support this format

### "Acrobar Reader DC is the "King of the PDF's""

April 24, 2019

5.0

Adobe Reader DC was installed on the company to quickly create documentation, protect it and have a quick access to it. We clearly managed to do what we were aiming to!

Pros

What I like most of this software is the combining PDFs tool due to in my actual job I need to contact different manufacturers and group all the quotes together. When using the combining pdfs tool you can merge easily and quick different documents into one establishing the order you prefer. Another important pro that has this tool is the compatibility with different softwares packages like office, or other text or images formats like .jpg, that means that you can convert other documents to pdf so they can't be edited. The search by word tool, the zoon in/out and the "go to previous/next page" buttons work really well. In general, all the quick access buttons are really useful!

Cons

I didn't like the interface on previous versions, but even that has changed on the new ones ! So I have no cons at all !

### "Gets the job done"

February 29, 2020

The experience overall is great and I'm not aware of any software that is better. Sending documents between different clients and institutions has never been easier with this.

Pros

The ease of use, intuitive and straight forward design makes this software a no-brainer. Our whole office uses this daily. PDF is the best document format so everyone regardless of environment can use it and Acrobat makes it even better for easily changing, formatting, and signing docs.

Cons

There are a few features that we've become so accustom to in other software that it'd be great to have Adobe adopt them and integrate them. Things like team editing so multiple people can be in the document and make changes without overwriting each other. There's odd things that can happen when you move the window in-between screens of varying resolution. For example if you go from a 4k screen to 1080 sizing of the document and zoom get a little funky. A little messing around can fix it most of the time.

The Feature of editing image in Adobe Acrobat also additional point, so I can crop the image, rotate, resize, save and you can share the PDF in the email. It is user friendly and function well. you also can compile a few PDFs into single file and save it.

Cons

I wish there is more tools that you can edit the image like in adobe photoshop which you can add special effect and consistent font character. Overall this software is the best software and essential for business people even fro student.
