Pros It is a first class tool for the reading of pdf materials. It is easy to use and it is well known throughout the world. The options are endless and I love the fact that my students can use it too. Cons The cost for some additional features. As a teacher and librarian, cost of tools needs to be accessible and fair and sometimes our users cannot afford that cost due to the socio-economic conditions. There are other tools out there I can use for these features, but you have to use three different tools where as if there was access to these features. Another huge bonus is that when I scan documents onto my computer, it's so easy to take all the indvidual pictures, convert them to PDFs, combine all the individual PDFs into one document and edit the page organization. This program is absolutely amazing and easy to use! Cons My biggest pet peeve is that its nearly impossible to edit tables in PDFs. We use Mac OS and I would highly recommend taking the few minutes to install this as it is more dependable for viewing PDFs than Preview or other free softwares... especially if the form is fillable. Plus, the cloud services make it super convenient to track your document on any device. Cons Since it's a free software, you only get the very basic tools... like adding comments and highlighting. You won't have the option to edit or export the PDF on this program. If you only need the program for view PDFs, then you are set. But, very quickly you will find yourself wanting to make a quick edit, export to Excel or to Word, merge multiple PDFs, etc. So if you are able to, upgrading to the Acrobat Pro version means you have more editing options. The other con is that it is part of the Adobe suite so expect frequent updates that you need to download... or deal with sync issues or some lags.
