### "Good pdf reader and editor"

August 27, 2018

4.0

My experience with adobe reader wasn't the greatest, I really don't recommend it, it is just so expensive, and for me it has been really unstable, it makes my computer really slow and paying for it is just not worth it, I recommend that if you are obligated to work with it just to use the free version and use other cheaper editors

Pros

Adobe reader dc is the first pdf software I used and after using several other software I can say that paying for it is not worth it, I can't find anything positive about it, maybe that it's free version is good for pdf reading, just use that one and another editing software and you should be good.

Cons

A huge problem I have with it is how expensive it is, there are cheaper options that work as well as adobe or even better. Also this software is extremely heavy and makes my computer work at turtle speed.

### "The easiest program to use for PDF files"

February 26, 2021

5.0

Overall I would choose it over other paid PDF programs like Foxit as the program interface is presented in a simple, easy to use manner

Pros

Out of all the PDF programs out there to read PDF files, Adobe Acrobat Reader is the easiest, least complicated software to use. Straight forward and to the point, PDF documents are presented in a clean manner without all the clutter that other free programs have

Cons

In order to use the full suite of functions from Adobe like editing or redacting, users will have to pay a subscription fee which is not the most competitive in pricing.

### "Works well, but it's huge"

May 12, 2019

4.0

because it is from adobe, it is guaranteed to be 100% PDF compatible. some others cannot do everything that acrobat reader can do.

Pros

acrobat reader is still the standard. adobe invented the format, and if their software can't read the file, the file is most likely wrong. there are other readers to use, and i use some of them as well. the others are faster and smaller. however, sometimes, acrobat reader is the only one that can properly display and process a file.

Cons

it is huge, and it can be slow. it is supposed to be all things to all people, and there's a cost associated with that. also, acrobat reader, as well as other abode products, have gone cloud crazy and subscription crazy. i don't like subscription software, and i have no need of using the product for cloud storage.

### "Adobe Acrobat Reader, still the BEST Pdf reader!"

October 10, 2022

5.0

Adobe Acrobat Reader is still the best pdf reader in my opinion, although there are lots of free online readers out there. With its ease of use, still this is our only option.

Pros

Adobe Acrobat Reader is really easy to use, and there is almost zero learning curve.

Cons

Maybe they can add more features like reading not limited to just pdf files.

### "Basic PDF Viewer in the Adobe Suite"

February 12, 2019

4.0

We use Acrobat Reader DC primarily to work with our creative team to mark up marketing documents, give feedback and propose edits. We also use it to distribute presentation files, open and read contracts and view marketing reports.

Pros

Acrobat Reader DC is perfect for quick viewing of PDF files. The program opens fast, allows for multiple tabs of documents for quick viewing and allows for quick emailing to colleagues. Easily the best feature is the Comment tool. It offers a wide variety of mark-up options to users to make comments on a document without changing the text or images itself.

Cons

Outside of the Comment tool, Acrobat Reader is very limited in terms of functionality. There aren't any options for merging documents, removing pages, etc. Those features are present in Acrobat DC but not in this tool.

### "Does So Much !"

December 3, 2019

5.0

Our marketing team exclusively uses Acrobat as it allows us to shrink large files and easily edit PDFs.

Pros

I love how many different functions there are with the program. Our marketing team uses it exclusively in lieu of Bluebeam because of it's functionality and options - particularly editing PDFs and reducing large files.

Cons

It does so much but sometimes the menus can be a little confusing. It would also be great if there was a way to manually compress some pages but not all when reducing a file size.

BlueBeam did not provide the functionality that our marketing team requires.

### "A classy business tool"

March 20, 2021

5.0

It frees up your hands in your every-day PDF handling. This version is lighter than the previous ones and remains the 1st choice for anyone that uses the pdf extension in many aspects of his workload.

Pros

The most positive thing about Acrobat Reader DC is the wide range of features it offers. The edit option for pdf documents, export in other formats like doc and vice versa, adding signatures and many more make it the number one choice for PDF document creation, commenting and handling.

Cons

Digital signature feature should be more flexible allowing to import signatures and not only creating new ones in the app. The menu interface is not straight-forward. It is missing the option to export in jpeg format which is an widely use extention that you use for importing pictures in macro languages like VBA.

### "Monopoly for PDFs, and it Shows"

November 12, 2019

3.0

Adobe Reader does what you need it to if you're only looking to view PDFs. Beyond viewing though, expect to pay them money or find a better, free software online.

Pros

Adobe Reader has been around for quite some time and gets the job done when viewing PDFs, but that's about it unless you want to pay.

Cons

The cost of Adobe Reader is way too high in my opinion. I firmly believe that Adobe has a great lineup of software, but the limited functionality of their free programs leaves a lot to be desired, and is quite frustrating. I find myself going onto Google to find a free software that will allow me to re-order the pages of a PDF, combine pages of a PDF, convert a PDF to an editable version, and much more. Adobe does not offer enough to it's users unless they are willing to shell out some money.

### "Adobe Reader, undisputed leader in handling pdf."

March 8, 2019

5.0

In general my experience with Adobe reader, I can summarize saying that it is my right hand in everything that has to do with PDF. I have been using it for many years and I hope to continue using it many more because despite having known other programs that claim to do the same, it is very difficult for me to overcome the trust I have gained through Adobe over the years.

Pros

By experience, by expertise and for so many years in the market, there is definitely no more reliable program to handle PDF than Adobe Reader. although I used the basic version for many years when I upgraded to the Pro version I got a lot of profits because, for example, this allows optimizing the PDF documents for the web and for mobile devices, making my digital marketing work easier. anyway, the basic version is excellent, it almost meets all the needs

Cons

managing new functions is not always easy. for example, when interacting with Adobe flash player it cost me a bit of difficulty to understand how is the process to insert multimedia elements. In general, its use should be a bit more intuitive to facilitate the user experience. Of course, once the respective process is understood, working with this software is really quick and hassle-free.

### "Really helpful app for my business!"

January 29, 2019

5.0

There is this client that prefers for me to send it the reports in pdf format than Excel or word , because for them is easy to print and read, so Acrobat Reader is the best software for pdf files than other applications, you can have the free version or subscription so it depends totally for your needs, this client only use to read it so the free version works fine for him.

Pros

There is several documents that I need to work on, but to use or maintain the main form, specially reports or third party information so have the pdf files make easier that way you don't need to do it again, you can work in the want that is already prepared.

Cons

Not have any complain really, if you need to scan documents and you don't have the licensed can be a little difficult to modify or add some information but not impossible so I don't really have any complain.

### "Best PDF Reader"

October 24, 2018

5.0

Pros

Acrobat Reader DC by Adobe has been my go-to software for anything PDF and formal documents related both professionally and for personal purposes. Out of perhaps four or five different editors I have had the chance to try out, Acrobat Reader has been the most responsive in terms of how fast documents open, and how quickly edits are made and applied within the software. Professionally, we use AR on a daily basis for all sorts of legal forms, as AR lets users fill out forms within the software.

Cons

So far so good with AR in terms of usability and functionality, 10/10 there. My only complaint would be about the customer support. It often feels like the representatives would reply with pre-written responses, instead of directly addressing your concern.

### "Versatile and simple product for viewing PDF documents."

May 19, 2019

5.0

It is a tool that is useful in the work to visualize important documents, it is also safe, they can be visualized in any device and obtain high quality experience in its use, speed in which the service is optimal for what becomes a tool to increase productivity.

Pros

It is a tool that is indispensable in the company, the visualization is optimal in any device that is used to read the information with a high quality, the category of the best of the best products already used at world level so it has an extensive community of users worldwide, its interface and functions are usually basic but useful, there is no complexity in using it so at the level of implementation is simple.

Cons

Its paid version is expensive, although it is true that it has broad and later functions. Its price may be somewhat high for some users.

### "Makes my work way easier"

April 27, 2018

5.0

Pros

"Overall Quality" is great. A simple tool for personal and commercial/business use. I use it everyday and it never let me down. Acrobat Reader can handle large PDF files and I have never had performance issues. "Ease of Use" is the category where Acrobat Reader shines. Acrobat Reader is very easy to handle. A user-friendly design which has a simple toolbar with the main save and navigation button/features. You can hide the unnecessary panes for more reading space. The tools tab is awesome. You can navigate in the different tools, quickly select them and get details how to use them. "Features & Functionality" are really good. I love that you can create editable PDF form. My customers can easily complete and sign such forms, without printing. There is build in PDF-DOCX converter that comes very useful. I love the Stamp and Sign tools. "Value for Money" - Some of the features should come for free, however I think that it's a good value for your money.

Cons

Some of the basic features are not available in the free version. You can't pay at once and get lifetime license as only montly subscription/license is available.

### "Definitely worth an install"

July 6, 2018

5.0

Its ease of use is the main benefit. Other programs can mainly do the same things, but this is the easiest I have come across. Using advanced PDF features is where it really has a much better functionality over its competitors

Pros

It just handles PDF documents better than the native applications on Mac or Windows. While others can get the job done, this is something you likely don't know you needed until you use it. Handles digital signatures and multiple document types A LOT better than other applications

Cons

There aren't too many negatives, it is easy to use, but there seem to be some bugs. For instance, you can't seem to simply open and view a document with a digital signature to verify its signing. The program always prompts you to save a copy while closing even though you haven't made any changes.

### "Adobe reader is the only PDF reader I will ever use for reading scientific papers. "

August 2, 2018

5.0

Saved me so much time making presentations for countless classes and journal club presentations. Also saved me a lot of organizational time when writing my Master's thesis.

Pros

I am a neuroscience graduate student so I have to read and keep track of a ton of scientific articles, and most of these articles are best read in PDF format. Adobe reader DC allows me to organize and annotate (highlight and take notes) the papers to my liking which makes it easier to come back to the main points later. I also love that I can take 'snapshots' of anything on any of the pages and just copy and paste it right into a power point presentation. Another fantastic feature that many scientific journals use is links to references, either at the end of the document or even sometimes the online hyperlink. This way you can go down any scientific wormhole you want with ease.

Cons

The only thing I don't like about this software (beggars can't be choosers I guess) is that the PDF to Microsoft Word document converter (and vice versa) is not free. There are plenty of free ways to go about doing this on the internet and the technology seems easy enough. It is just slightly inconvenient is all.

### "My go-to for creating, editing, and sharing PDFs!"

February 23, 2021

5.0

I have had a very positive experience with Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. I always recommend it for signing, sharing, and editing text-based documents.

Pros

I love the ability to notate, edit, sign, and add images to PDFs. Adobe makes it simple with a very simple user interface, accessibility options, and the ability to share through Adobe Sign. I have used Adobe Acrobat for over 10 years, but the new Document Cloud version kicks it up a notch with innovative sharing features, editing capabilities, and readability.

Cons

My only con to note is that Adobe Acrobat Reader DC is only available via Adobe Creative Cloud's subscription service which is a little pricey. This makes it inaccessible to many undeserved communities. I would like to be able to purchase a license for full access to the program until the next major update although I understand the mentality behind having a cloud-based subscription service in terms of Adobe's business goals.

### "Excellent resource for creating materials for presentations and trainings"

September 19, 2018

4.0

My overall experience has been really good, in that I have found the software very helpful and a real time saver in my every day content creation. It has become kind of a one stop shop for making workbooks for trainings and altering handouts that may need minor revisions for different audiences.

Pros

The ease of use is really the best feature of this software. All of the tools availability are clearly laid out and are so easy to use. At work we do a lot of combining of files and creating new resources out of of existing PDFs and this software lets us to that with minimal fuss. It also allows you to edit PDFs which is invaluable for the one off corrections one inevitably needs to make even after designing and editing a resource.

Cons

It can occasionally be glitchy which can get annoying if you are in a time crunch. By glitchy I mean that sometimes you will click on a tool like "combine files" and even if you have the files selected it won't recognize them. Usually this can be fixed by closing the software and just opening it again but sometimes you have to close and open it a couple of times before it corrects itself.

### "The Old Acrobat Was Better"

April 29, 2019

2.0

Likely still going to be used even though its not fully free

Pros

Now i'm not saying that Acrobat is bad software, it's not. In fact it's the most widely used PDF program. I use it every single day to edit PDF's. I wish I didn't have to pay for a subscription to Adobe to use it though. The program on my Mac and also on my Windows computer lags when scrolling small PDF files. It's quite annoying and I haven't really experienced this kind of lag from previous versions of Acrobat. Once they switched it to "DC" it started to lag for me, and I use high end computer equipment.

Cons

The lagging when scrolling through PDFs, paying for the subscription service as well. It's free in some regards, but the special services like filling in your signature is not standard on the free account.

### "Software that will significantly improve the reading and editing of documents on the web "

June 9, 2018

5.0

Easy-to-use software that lets you manage your own documents, keep great books, write legal documents and more I recommend this software to everyone

Pros

1- It is excellent for reading large documents at work, allowing you to take these documents wherever you want thanks to a flash drive or cloud. 2- The PDF format, allows its easy visualization and transfer. 3-I can create legal documents and sign them, allowing me to better develop my work and have a better performance. 4- It has a wide variety of languages, allowing me to translate and proofread information

Cons

To improve the operation of this program I would work a little better with the security of the software, so I wouldn't be afraid that my documents would be damaged or that they would be violated and stolen.

### "The Original One"

April 30, 2019

4.0

We go to the source and creators of the PDF format and original tools. This Acrobat reader despite its huge footprint works like a workhorse, reliable and stable.

Pros

Adobe created PDF right? And so, who better to provide the apps and tools that would work best with PDFs but them. Acrobat is full featured application to create and manipulate PDF documents. The overall speed, startup, loading, and editing documents seem to have improved a lot. The signing of documents is key to our data privacy and gives us the confidence even when sharing documents via cloud. The other features like preventing printing or locking edits also helps in this regard. My most loved feature is its integration with the other cloud service offerings from Adobe. Open your documents from anywhere there is internet.

Cons

The installer size, as well as the installation footprint, is considerably large. Not sure how other similar apps do it the lightweight way.

### "Without Doubt the Best"

October 15, 2021

5.0

For the period I used it, I did get accustom to it and did not have a single complain. But soon as I found a cheaper alternative, I have only used it for opening and viewing documents.

Pros

When it comes to functionality it is still the best. Whether you want to read, create or edit , merge or combine, this software will get the job done. Anything you need done with a pdf, adobe can have it done. The security function for protecting your files is also good.

Cons

Many of the good functions are hidden in the paid version.
