The sticky note function is very clear and easy to read for adding notes. Pros I love how easy it is to use for marking up a pdf file, and the fact that pdf files are very common and used everywhere - especially government sites like tax files or application forms. Cons The software loads kind of slow most of the time at startup. I have a decent laptop, and other comparable software loads a bit quicker. April 27, 2019 5.0 I recommend the software to everyone. Pros As a student and also as a proffessional I used Acrobat reader DC to view my PDF files. It functions really well, as I work at a university library as tech support and at times when students open pdf files from different applications and add it to print, it does not go to the printer. However, when we open the file from acrobat reader DC it works perfectly. Also, the licensed version works fine with all the features such as allowing to edit pdf files, convert to a doc file etc... Cons One disadvantage is that the free version does npt have all the functions that a student would need. May 29, 2018 4.0 Pros If you're looking for a very standard pdf reader, then Acrobat is for you. There are practically no frills for this program, and that's reflected in the price. For a basic user who needs the capacity to view/create .pdf files, then you'll be covered here. The features, while very few, are intuitive and easy to use. Beyond that, it is a very affordable product if you don't need the fancy extras (embedding email or website addresses, copy/pasting text from a .pdf to another text document, etc.). Price is a big pro for this program. Cons The features and functionality are very limited. Recently, they've produced updates that allow you to create textboxes and place checkmarks, but that's about it (beyond highlighting). Unfortunately, these features are not very easy to find and even a user experienced with the program may have to do a little hunting to get what you're looking for. If you want the capability to create forms with embedded text entry fields, copy and paste letters from a .pdf file to a text editing file, or manipulate the form in any specific way, you're not going to find that with this product. The least thing is sometimes it takes too long while opening the PDF files even this problem accrue while opening the small sized and large with both of them it creates problem. I mean, it's awesome. :) Cons Nothing really. :) I've always used the free version for myself as I didn't need the paid one. The advances of the paid one I've realized mainly when I needed to sign papers for several clients during my freelance work as admin assistant. And it was easy to use it for sure. Pros All I can say is thankfully there is a program that opens any PDF that was made in any source. Between government forms, forms from freelance clients, and doing my own via publishing programs, it’s been imperative that no matter what I click on they will all open in Adobe Reader. I actually had a friend try another one that he found online and he emailed me last week asking why it wouldn’t work. I told him don’t bother Adobe is the only way to go. Capabilities to download signing software to sign and time-stamp documents to send back to people promptly. Organized folder shows all files eligible to open with Reader. Cons Dislike the lack of editing capabilities without downloading Adobe Acrobat Editor, which costs extra... and requires a subscription! I would use Editor ALL THE TIME... but, with READER, I lack most editing capabilities. I'd rather some of those functions from Editor be applied to Reader, so I don't need to move between programs to modify a document. Also, Snapshot is great but could be more flexible. All functions from document management, collaborative tools, and document conversion works quite perfectly. Our only problems have had to do with the repetitive product update notifications and the general size of the program. But when it comes to pure capacity to manage PDF files, there is no better alternative. Pros In the complete package, Adobe Acrobat comes with a variety of other equally competent and auxiliary products that help boost workflow and productivity. In terms of specific features offered by Acrobat, file merging and splitting have been my most commonly used ones, and handling resulting files is an absolute breeze. Even the free reader version has most of the functionality. There are cheaper pdf editors but all are clunky compared to Adobe’s offering Pros PDF has become our default format for issuing documents and drawings. Mark up is part of our QA and being able to shrink files in the program so the can be emailed is brilliant! Cons The change to the user interface in the latest version has taken a lot of getting used to however all the functionality is there and the new features are all useful rather than bloatware.
