### "It is a useful reader of PDF files for viewing, printing and sharing information from other formats."

May 10, 2018

5.0

It has security that can be configured by the user to protect the integrity of the document. The format is compatible with most of the existing operating systems. It is easy to use.

Pros

This program allows me to read the information of PDF files. You can view documents from other formats such as scanned images, plans from autocad, Word files, Power Point, Excell, among others. I can change the Zoom and see from small details or zoom out and see the document or full plan. It is compatible with operating systems such as Windows, Mac (appel) and Linux. I can annotate the document, copy the information, highlight it and use it in other programs such as Word, Excell and Power Point. This software has the function that I can track the documents sent over the internet (Adobe Send & Track).

Cons

If you have an old version installed, it will not let you open the file and you must install the new version, which can take hours if you do not have a good internet connection

### "Acrobat Reader DC"

August 25, 2018

5.0

Pros

What I appreciate most about the Acrobat Reader DC are the tools.I utilize the tools that I have a subscription for as much as possible. Especially the converter. There are many tools that I haven't used yet, but I am anxious to use them.

Cons

My least like is that not all of the tools are part of the subscription. In order to use certain things you must purchase them. It feels like being nickel and dimed. Maybe there is a bundle, and I just haven't seen it, but I'm sure the cost of that is more that I may be willing to spend. I wish the tools were just a part of Acrobat Reader DC.

### "A Solid Staple for PDF"

February 12, 2020

5.0

Overall, it's been consistent for many years opening documents with ease. When it comes to advanced features such as editing documents and signing it could improve in that department without hiding some behind a paywall.

Pros

Adobe has been the flagship brand for viewing documents for many years and this has provided security and brand loyalty. The ease of using Adobe Reader has consistently been the best feature Adobe has to offer.

Cons

There are a few basic features like editing a PDF that are stuck behind paywalls. I understand that premium upgrades are expected but at this point I believe that should be seen as a free, basic feature.

### "Most Used PDF Editor"

July 20, 2020

4.0

Adobe Acrobat Reader tops among its competitors as not only it is fast to open but it also gives nore feature in compact version. We use often use the tool for opening and editing the pdf files that we encountered almost everyday. We also use this in our organisation for training new developers.

Pros

Along with viewing pdf documents Adobe Acrobat Reader allows to highlight certain portion to let you access that part easily. Paid versio also lets you convert pdf to word or other format. Although many online tools are available for the same but results of this version is far better than those tools. One can also add notes at certain place which is excellent feature allowing anyone to understand that particular part better.

Cons

It does not have Text Detection which could be better for hand written document. Some times not able to select text from pdf is frustrating. It does not save status from where the document was closed. This feature could be handy if one is reading a book in pdf format.

### "Acrobat Reader DC Review"

November 21, 2018

5.0

I love using Acrobat because of the ease and simplicity.

Pros

What I like most about Acrobat is the ease and simplicity of it. It lets me save my documents in a universal format which I could send to my clients without having to worry if it will open on their end. No matter where in the world. It also let me save my reports in a clean, uniform and professional manner.

Cons

What I liked the least about Acrobat was not all the tools are there yet. There are some tools I would like to see implemented such as group and live time editing. Acrobat is about as close as you will get to a perfect product.

### "All the functionalities to view PDFs"

January 27, 2019

4.0

If you read PDF frequently Acrobat Reader DC provides most of your needs rather than any PDF viewer out there,

Pros

This is my favorite PDF viewer. It gives all the important features to work with PDFs. I like Home functionality which gives recently viewed PDFs. Toolbar is also provide very useful shortcuts such as Hand tool, select tool. One thing I mostly like about Acrobat Reader is the highlight feature which is very helpful in studying purposes. And also tabbed view.

Cons

I don't like the side bar which is appearing right side. It is annoying and blocking the view. I have to manually click and hide it.

### "The PDF reader that sets the standard for all others"

October 26, 2018

3.0

Pros

Acrobat Reader is easy to use and has an intuitive interface that even a novice user can take full advantage of with little to no training in the software. The ability to highlight text and leave comments within makes it an invaluable tool for editors reviewing other people's documents and files.

Cons

Acrobat Reader is technically the little brother to the more impressive (and expensive) Acrobat Pro. The latter of these two does a lot more, and at no time is that more evident than when a user needs to edit a PDF document directly (as opposed to just leaving comments within it).

### "Simple and free best PDF reader app "

December 23, 2019

5.0

I use the reader every day to open pdf documents and also edit and organize them. The editing options allow easy editing and thereby no need to create a separate word document.

Pros

1\. Easy to use and has all basic functionalities 2. Has many tools for pdf editing 3. Allows embedded animations and videos also to be viewed in the pdf 4. Has text recognition to edit pdf documents containing texts and images.

Cons

1\. The PDF editor cannot edit photos and needs to open the paint app every time to edit photos 2. Creating pdfs and organizing is difficult since no margins are available. Also, line spacing options are not available.

### "Pioneer of readers"

November 14, 2018

5.0

I have been using Adobe Acrobat Reader since 2015 and I must say that I never needed any other similar product installed on my laptop. I did everthing I wanted using this software. I recommend Adobe Acrobat Reader to anyone who wants to edit their pdf documents without going through endless troubles.

Pros

Adobe Acrobat Reader allows users to edit any size of a pdf document without crashing. Most of the time when you read a big pdf document reader gets crashed. Acrobat reader loads everything perfectly on the screen.

Cons

It is a must to have Adobe reader installed on the device. Therefore, users cannot have other alternatives to read their pdf files.

### "The best PDF editor and reader out there"

July 25, 2018

5.0

Pros

This is the industry standard for a reason, it's packed full of features and is very robust. I still am finding features and options I didn't know about, and I've been using Acrobat for years. It's dead simple to create and edit PDFs and it's compatible with anything I can throw at it.

Cons

When working with large files (500+ page image-heavy textbooks, for example), it can slow down, and sometimes freeze. Compression settings, specifically for image or graphics-heavy files feels a bit lacking, the competition can compress to a smaller file size while retaining the same quality.

### "A complete, but heavy PDF reader"

March 26, 2018

3.0

Pros

Acrobat Reader is maybe the only truly complete implementation of Adobe's PDF format. Therefore, it is often a required install when someone needs to fill PDF forms, or use advanced features of the format. It also comes with a trove of features to fill and annotate documents, which are quite useful for revisions (e.g. when asking someone to proofread a document). Although I've never used it, there's also an authenticated digital signature feature.

Cons

This completeness comes at the cost of being heavy and slow. What is achieved seemingly effortlessly by macOS's Preview app requires a lot more resources when attempted through Adobe Reader. The recent versions include a deep "document cloud" integration, which in my opinion is completely useless in a PDF reader. This corresponds to a larger trend of software companies forcibly integrating "services" into their software, making it harder to use as a basic tool.

### "Plans could use some altering"

April 22, 2020

5.0

It makes an excel file easier to ready and maybe other documents into a nice finalized document.

Pros

I love the search/find taskbar! I can always look thru a large document without having to read the entire thing. I also like that I can convert a pdf back into a word document and vice versa.

Cons

The free program lacks the option to edit a PDF with text, signature, and/or check marks. I think at this point in technology, something like that should be provided as a free option. Many other apps do it. I think Adobe has a hundred percent capability to add this, which would make them above their competitors.

### "Convert your pictures and other documents to pdf documents easily."

July 5, 2021

Overall experience is good. Its easy to use and handles pretty much every document file type including picture files.

Pros

File formats that you can choose to convert pretty much covers every type of document file there is. Converting pdf file, reading and even editing pdf files are easy. We use Adobe Acrobat Reader DC to convert all our documents from word to pdf.

Cons

The software is a bit expensive and uses a lot of computer resources.

### "Fully loaded with features for any PDF job"

February 7, 2020

4.0

Acrobat Reader is a must have tool for any PDF related work - commenting, marking, digital signatures, embedding objects, etc. It might be heavy on the system resources and pocket, but worthy if you are a heavy user too.

Pros

It covers a multitude of features required for any PDF document. Have used it extensively for commenting, markup and digital signature (the certificate ones). Compatibility is never an issue and the amount of time it has been operational tells you the amount of people who can use it intuitively.

Cons

As features are added, the software went on becoming bloated. The file size increased immensely, the CPU power required also has increased and finally the response time- loading a document. Now it has a good lot of competitors, so the price needs to be re-evaluated.

### "The Best PDF Viewer Available"

December 29, 2020

5.0

It opens pdf's. It is easy to use. There isn't really much more to say. It's probably the best free pdf viewer around. I see no reason to use any others unless this one glitches for you like happened to a couple users I support.

Pros

It has a nice clean, easy to use interface, it is free, and it's pretty fast. I can't think of anything bad about it, other than you can't edit pdf's with it. Of course that is reserved for the paid versions of Adobe.

Cons

I have had a couple of issues where the software said it needed an update, so the user did, but then it wouldn't actually update. So we tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it wouldn't even reinstall. There was nothing we could do but switch to a different PDF viewer until that issue got fixed.

### "The best PDF reader for work and study"

March 8, 2019

5.0

Pros

In my personal opinion, definitely the best PDF reader out there. I used quite a few and always turned back to Acrobat Reader DC. I have used it both for work and studies during my MBA. It lets you highlight important part of the text and put notes which are useful both for work and study, some readers don-t even have those options. If you wish to get the pro or pay version you can turn PDF into word and other types of files, for easier integration of the text into your documents. Definitely a life saver.

Cons

No problems with the software. It is just the go to for PDF files.

### "No lawyer should leave without it. "

November 27, 2019

5.0

Positive. I rely on it so routinely, that it has become a habit, rather than a conscious decision to use.

Pros

Ease of use, power to come up with precisely the end result PDF I want, intuitive process. It makes my life easier, especially with mandatory E-filing in Illinois (requiring PDFs)

Cons

At first, all the choices seemed intimidating. When I started to play around with it, the app became extremely welcome, especially for a sole practitioner. But the initial curve seemed steep. For about one day.

Reason for choosing Adobe Acrobat Reader

Researching the history of PDFs, I learned of the many different versions and how the proper tool can make the most of PDF usage. Acrobat seemed most likely to be able to read old, somewhat old, and the most modern versions.

### "Slowest and Freezing"

November 3, 2020

3.0

Pros

The father of PDFs, has lots of forums that you can get the support from.

Cons

Gets updates every single day and nothing changes, nothing improves. Most of the time it gets frozen, some old version are much worse on that. When you open a single document, you wait 5-6 seconds until you can view it. Continuously making itself the default program and the menu on the right which you never need to use keeps opening every time even though you close it. If you need to print a large word document (about 100 pages, no pictures) into a PDF, you need to wait minutes to get this done...
