Pros

I really liked how easy to use this was for scheduling patients and for records.

Cons

It would often mess up for one reason or another and the entire system would be down and unusable.

For the most part, I have had EXCELLENT experiences with ICANotes. I have loved all the people that I have worked with.

Pros

I love the accessibility to all our client information. Like when I am doing the billing, I can access the chart of a particular client if they do not validate and I need to change information on the chart (i.e. demographics or insurance information)

Cons

I don't have any issues with ICANotes at this time. I am considering adding more features to our profile

Well, the notes are so difficult to navigate. I cannot tell. But with continued use the problem may resolve.

The system is very difficult to navigate, hard to compile notes. I complete loss information from one note.

This is a powerful program that can be great to document quickly when you have several clients or notes to enter.. for a big agency that is helpful...

Pros

The smart narrative charting feature is really awesome, it helps with developing narrative style notes based on select phrases and keywords commonly used. The notes are also automatically coded for medical necessity which helps in being prepared for an audit..

Cons

The templates are extensive however customizing them is limited, and there is no mobile app... The pricing can feel expensive for a small practice... a bigger practice / agency will benefit more from ICANotes

It has truly been the difference between success and failure for me. There is not way I would be this successful in private practice right now were it not for ICanotes.

Pros

Customer service, trainers, ease of use of system once you get to know it, Readability enhancer is great in its infancy.

Cons

Billing process can be confusing at times. I suspect I would be lost if it wasn't for the billing god \[sensitive content hidden\]. Please buy him a vehicle with a removable top to honor him. Readability enhancer at times does not go far enough. External audit reviewers (AAPC) still find readability enhancer often makes it sound "cut and pasted" from one note to another. Wish there was a credentialing piece to Innovalon/Icanotes. It would make it a much better "one stop shopping" experience. And I still laugh every time I say the phrase ICANotes......

Pros

I like the ease of accessibility. The ability to tailor the EMR to meet the demands of your practice and clientele. The dedicated support and the feasibility of integrating information to the patient record and chart.

when the EMR is down and notification of this event can be timelier and wait time for enquiries can be cumbersome.

Great. It took a while to learn but am doing so daily. The trainings are important for our growth. I love the fact that if you cannot be in the training in person, you can watch it later. I love the consistency in reaching out to providers

Pros

Conciseness so you can make your choice and modify when needed. It is refreshing to know that there are things that can be used to make the work easier and that you can move faster especially when you have a lot to do.

Cons

Nothing. It is ok. I would have hoped that other buttons could be more added to make it easier to punch things in especially when have to use the word or phrases more often.

I have used EHR systems such as: Kipu, Carelogic, Sunwave, and others I can't even remember at this point. I would say my favorite is now Ican.

Pros

I appreciate the ease of use. I can find notes, client's demographic information, make updates and changes quickly.

Cons

At times this blue bar comes up at the bottom of the screen and I can't remove it. It makes the screen size slightly off on my screen, however, nothing to actually complain about!

Pros

It is user friendly and colleagues seem to be able to navigate the system with ease and confidence. New employees are not intimidated by the system.

I wish our company could utilize more features. I am awaiting the PRO version of ICANotes. I love all the trainings offered to better utilize ICANotes.

It was fine for a while. Charting is made easier with the buttons, it genuinely can be great even if the system takes a while to get used to and is very clunky and outdated looking. However the lack of support I have experienced after the Change Healthcare issue in February has really soured me on icannotes. It is going on 2 months now and I still haven't been able to get claims in despite being tech savvy and sending in many support tickets.

Pros

It does make charting more streamlined. You need to add a lot of your own buttons for compliance with various insurance companies but it feels fairly robust.

Cons

Claims integration with inavalon has been a complete nightmare since the switch and I have been frustrated by the lack of support. The learning curve for getting comfortable with charting in icannotes was about average when I started. I wish there was more customization. I have a lot of extra buttons on my screen that I will never need.

The pre-written button options are great, however I tell my social workers that I also want some patient specific info included.

Cons

Seems like a good product but company worker ruined experience for me.

Pros

The EMR made sense. It was simple and easy accessing the information you needed.

Cons

The employee who was giving me the demonstration seemed like she did not want to show me all of the product. She seemed busy and as if she didn’t care either way if I selected that product. Being very limited in technological intelligence, I saw this as a preview of how the support system would be within this company. I went with another company because they eased my mind.

It is easy to use and easy to train new employees to use it.

Pros

Overall it is simple to train new Mental health techs for our Mental health rehab ( community based services) It is easy to access from the field, but clicking is difficult because of the way you must click when using it on a tablet or smart phone. The system is relatively easy to use for those new to the industry. It is less expensive than many of the other integrated programs, BUT once you realize you now pay for the ehr/billing program and now you are gettiing a seperate bill for the clearing house and you are having to pay a monthly fee for each mental health tech and each licensed person both to icn and to a clearinghouse, it is suddenly much more expensive than using a high end integrated service.

Cons

The billing software is a horrible, with repeated problems and errors, very limited audit trail, very limited ability to speak with the best clearing houses, relegated to smaller, less advanced clearing houses, lots of lag, slow at times, notes that are saved disappear, lots of weird glitches that tech support has no clue on how to resolve the issues. It is too busy to look at, if you are dealing with it all day long, it is fussy and cluttered. The report system both on the ehr side and the billing side are weak at best. There are many reports that we used in our previous software that are not available, There is no end of day processing and end of day report available. It is built on an old coding platform and needs to be modernized, it could be the best in the industry, it does a lot of basic things right.. Uploading files and downloading files or reports is not easy, you have to log into a different website, which is again time consuming if you are attempting to run reports, export them into excel etc, it cant be done on the main website, you run the report, then rather than just export it, you have to click export then go log on to a different website to retrieve it. It needs more integration. Everything feels like it was added on and just hanging on in piecemeal fashion to the original ehr.. the ehr is solid, good and great to use. I wish it was abit more flexible where you could add fields or have a form uploaded and then be usable in the system

### "Death by 1000 clicks!"

Lately I have been calling them every day for IT support and although it says I am first in line, nobody answers the phone. I also try to live chat at the same time and they will take over my computer run a "test" and say everything is fine. If it is so fine, why as soon as I resume use do the same problems occur?

Pros

When it works, it has good features that make charting faster and easier.

Cons

It has issues 5 out of 5 days a week. It is impossible to go directly to the chart room so that starts the day off totally wrong since that is where you are most likely to go to get your patient chart. Then when you can get the chart it decides when you can actually document in the chart . I wait a long time for a blue ring to stop going round and round and I also wait a really long time for something that says a find is in progress and processing inquiry. I get a coffee cup with steam several times a day as well and I have no idea what that icon means. Does mean, your patient will wait while you go get a coffee of coffee and we get this software working?

Pros

I can breeze through the progress notes and intersperse information of the current session. Notes are comprehensive which allows me to feel secure of proving medically necessary treatment. Support is very good in all areas, such as sales, technical support, and one-one training. It did take me some time to really learn the software. I really need to learn more in order to better utilize the software.

Cons

I was disappointment there wasn't a website that could be integrated, and there was no telehealth software. Although, I understand Icanotes will soon be adding telehealth as a feature very soon.

### "Excellent Platform for Integrated Care Practice"

ICANotes has been a solid system providing the flexibility and compatibility needed in today's complex healthcare system(s). Initially and even today, ICANotes promotes itself as a behavioral health platform. However, as a larger Integrated Care private practice with over 30+ users and a multidisciplinary team of professionals this EHR has been able to meet every need we have had and more. The platform does require improvements to hopefully navigate away from being accessed through RDP (remote desktop) only, but this among other things the ICA team tackles head on and I cannot say enough about their support team(s) from sales to development and EDI. We continue to use ICA with confidence knowing that if/when we have a need it will be met promptly by a team that is knowledgeable in today's ever changing healthcare world, but a team that is also small enough to care making us feel they are truly "Pro-Provider" which is rare among the corporate world of electronic health record systems. We use every feature daily including e-Rx., assessment & clinical documentation, billing and laboratory result integration. ICANotes has nearly every feature for full clinical practice management outside of specific accounting capabilities and a time-clock - everything else happens in ICA. Our practice has been satisfied overall based on our direct experience with the software and our relationships with the people behind it. EHR can be a scary leap to take (especially for the one(s) paying the bills), but I am confident we made the right choice based on our unique practice and needs.

I like that it has pre-populated tabs for use on assessments, group note topics already compiled, and treatment plans goals etc to go hand in hand with sud diagnosis

Cons

The only downside of the system is how long it takes to compile notes, log on to the actual system, etc.

We appreciate the versatility with creating initial assessment or progress notes (i.e. tabs, buttons, etc.).

My experience has been extremely positive. I cannot recommend it enough.

Pros

It is user friendly and makes completing notes a breeze. The customer service and training is amazing. It is by far the best I have ever used. The teletherapy is smooth, portal is user friendly and effective. Forms can be customized. There is an extensive library of screening tools that can be used in session or sent to clients. I am amazed by the resources.

Cons

That I did not try it sooner. There is a learning curve. It appears a little antiquated. However they are in the process of an update that will resolve this issue.

Reason for choosing ICANotes

I had used therasoft and medisoft. Both were not user friendly and billing was a nightmare.
