### "Easy Deployment/ Easy Delivery"

July 31, 2020

4.0

It has helped me achieve so many things with so little knowledge. It is the heart of my orchestration system built for a very large distributed system as a software engineering intern. Because of it's reliability, it is still being used as that. Very easy to use and mixing with your creativity you can achieve almost anything .

Pros

Ability to perform any kind of deployment/orchestration.

Cons

Security Vulnerability. It can be attacked from multiple places.

Reason for choosing Jenkins

Because It was oldest and enough documentations around there for support. and very rich plugins availability.

### "Jenkins Review - Automation perspective"

May 5, 2020

4.0

Overall i like Jenkins as a tool very powerful one for CI CD implementation in day to day life.

Pros

First and foremost thing Jenkins is open source & now a days lot of plugin support for Jenkins makes CI - CD pipeline runs quite smooth with out any hick-ups. Jenkins supports all major version control and user can add native scripts to make runs in pipeline smooth. Also Jenkinsfile in groovy will trigger particular build automation runs (unit, integration, api or UI automation scripts) as soon as new code has been checked in helps a lot in finding bugs in early stage of SDLC. Also user can trigger nightly automation runs and by morning results will be ready.

Cons

When user is using some reporting like Allure , Extent JS report etc. which heavily relies on Javascript to render beautiful reports. As Jenkins due to some security reasons do not allow JS rendering by default user needs to turn off few things to see reporting. Some time Jenkins may become slow when more jobs are in pipeline and can delay work and may require admin to jump on bounce server nodes.

### "Jenkins is a well thought out Continuous Integration / Continuous Deploy system."

June 5, 2018

4.0

My company is able to build, test and deploy our applications as we move forward into the DevOps methods of building software.

Pros

Jenkins has a lot of people who use it and have no problem letting everyone know how they performed their tasks. The CloudBees company, the support company of Jenkins, is dedicated to the success of Jenkins. It has anumber of nice plug-ins that allow a developer to use PowerShell and other scripting environments.

Cons

Jenkins is very Java centric. If you do not know Java you find Jenkins a bit difficult to start using. It uses Groovy as its primary scripting language, which is a Java based scripting language.

### "Helps us to sort through data with multiple clients"

November 10, 2023

5.0

Pros

Jenkins allows us seamlessly switch back and forth between our clients to parse through their data.

Cons

We only use Jenkins for one purpose and it allows for that, so there isn't any con that I have.

### "Still king of the hill"

April 23, 2020

4.0

It requires effort and focused attention, but if you put that effort in you can do anything you need. Though you might find yourself stuck for a while the community support is great and somebody has probably already found a solution you are looking for.

Pros

Jenkins can be used for all steps in the CI/CD pipeline. It's flexible and not restricted to a single style.

Cons

Jenkins resource configurations can be hard to figure out at first. You have to grow with usage, and it's not just a quick out of the box solution.

### "Proven CI workflows"

March 23, 2021

5.0

To be honest there are many great success stories for Jenkins, sure there are other paid and free tools, specially on CI workflows but Jenkins has a proven track record and awesome community support that is hard to beat.

Pros

Robust and easy to deploy automation server. Makes my test automation workflows possible with little effort and no subscription costs

Cons

Like many other open source project it can feel a bit outdated on the UI department but this is really just a personal minor complaint .

### "Easy CI/CD for free"

August 22, 2019

4.0

Jenkins is one of the best CI/CD system it fits for small projects to big enterprise solutions. It leverages development experience and eliminate routine tasks.

Pros

Jenkins is one of the best choice when you need a CI/CD system. It easy to setup and install and works well for all operating systems. There is a huge number of plugins that you can install to perform specific tasks or to integrate it with a third party tool.

Cons

Things start to be more complex especially if you have multiple pipes from different sources.

### "An Excellent Deployment Tool"

March 4, 2020

5.0

We are currently migrating to a new website platform and Jenkins has made this transition as easy as we could have hoped for.

Pros

We love that Jenkins coordinates and monitors our deployments. The integration with other tools is also very convenient. Every deployment is automatically posted in Google hangouts for the team to see.

Cons

This is a small gripe, but the UI is incredibly dated looking. The functionality is great, but the tool looks like its 20 years old.

### "Easy to setup a pipeline that meets your need"

July 24, 2019

5.0

Satisfactory

Pros

Configuring deployment to a site is super easy, it is all click and use. Jenkins plugins are available to allow you to extend its feature e.g a SSH Publish plugin and many more. Easy to use I would say.

Cons

The refresh on version 2 could have been made better, it should reload without a user noticing the screen refresh.

Reason for choosing Jenkins

Overall ease of use

### "Best CI tool for builds"

January 29, 2020

5.0

Overall experience have been continuously improving over the time we are exploring more features of jenkins

Pros

The ease of automating the build process and the ease with which it can be integrated with Git so no manual work is needed

Cons

Scripting and more scripting but that is kind of base of all programming

### "An older, but great CI/CD tool"

August 25, 2022

4.0

Pros

Jenkins is the main tool that we use for our CI/CD pipeline. It's great for identifying errors as it continually runs a suite of tests against a commit to ensure that none of our changes broke any important functionalities. I like how Jenkins embraces the idea of tool chain integration, as you can use plug-ins like Selenium to further improve your testing.

Cons

The biggest con is that it is a bit outdated compared to other CI/CD tools, and it is not the most intuitive to navigate and manage for a new user. I also did not like that a lot of the Jenkins plugins were no longer being maintained/supported. Jenkins also has some latency issues, and it can be difficult to optimize its performance.

### "Jenkins makes continuous integration dead simple"

May 1, 2019

4.0

I had to build hundreds of applications and it would have been impossible without Jenkins. Anyone who wants to produce good and consistent software will need to have a build system. Jenkins is so well known and used, you won't find a team without someone who can use it. The web interface is dead simple and the notifications are essential. Did you break the build? Jenkins will keep you informed. It makes coding a much happier and easier experience. Get it!

Pros

\- Write your own scripts, run on a schedule - Keeps build output - Tracks overall build health - Notify the whole team when a build breaks - Run build agents on any device

Cons

\- It can be challenging to debug your custom scripts - Not everything can be done from the web interface (command line required)

### "Jenkins Review"

February 29, 2020

3.0

We are using Jenkins for configuring GitHub for pulling the delta/new code changes and deploying them in AWS. And we are achieving this by auto-deploying with the help of Jenkins.

Pros

Jenkins was helpful in making the deployment of code automatically whenever the code change is pushed into the configured code base software using Jenkins.

Cons

The only con about Jenkins is that sometimes the code deployment is delayed and need to be triggered manual from Jenkins GUI.

April 21, 2022

### "Achieve synergies by Continues Integration with jenkins"

September 7, 2021

5.0

Pros

Capability to hook up with any number of standard tools from source code management to testing including unit test, build, code scans, artifact management, deploy, test etc with tools like bitbucket, junit, ms test, nunit, sonar, artifactory, ansible, aws etc

Cons

Sometimes in case of failures the logs are not straightforward and you need to read between lines or guess/ hit and trial the solution which makes troubleshooting little difficult but overall 90% of time it’s pretty accurate and you can resolve it in seconds

### "Easy to learn, hard to master"

February 22, 2019

5.0

We were able to save some days of work with just an easy setup and are working on more complex one which will save even more. Highly recomend it!

Pros

There is almost nothing you can't do with jenkins, so many plugins, you can write your own code, your imagination (and coding skill) is basically the limit.

Cons

Setting up some jobs and do something is really easy, although setting up pipelines and finding the right plugins can be quite complex
