### "Using Jenkins in managing CI/CD process"

November 28, 2025

5.0

I already used Jenkins since 2012, it is my first priority in CI/CD, it can be easily used in personal projects in container, as well as big corporate level IT projects.

Pros

Jenkins is super powerful and ease to use in CI/CD, it can integrate all critical phases in checking out, building, testing and delivery.

Cons

The plugin management is still complicated and required lots of rebooting, for example. If I forgot to install git plugin, I will need to reinstall it and reboot the whole Jenkins.

BMC control\_m requires lots of script to manage the build process, and it lacks good UI to monitor the build status.

### "The Industry Standard for Flexible, Enterprise-Grade CI/CD Pipelines"

January 23, 2026

5.0

I have used Jenkins extensively to orchestrate end-to-end CI/CD infrastructure for highly secure government and financial environments. It serves as the backbone of our automation, handling everything from code checkout (Git/Bitbucket) to Docker image creation and deployment to Kubernetes clusters. While it requires some maintenance effort, its flexibility and control are unmatched for complex, custom enterprise workflows.

Pros

The strongest feature is the Master-Slave architecture, which allows us to distribute heavy build workloads across multiple agents efficiently. I also rely heavily on Jenkins Pipelines (Jenkinsfile) to define our entire build-and-deploy process as code, which supports our agile development cycle perfectly. The sheer number of plugins available means I can integrate it with almost anything in our stack, from Docker and Kubernetes to SonarQube and Artifactory.

Cons

The user interface (UI) feels a bit dated compared to newer tools like GitLab CI or CircleCI. Also, managing plugins can sometimes be a headache, specifically 'dependency hell' where updating one plugin breaks another. It requires careful maintenance to keep the controller stable.

### "Reliable and Flexible CI/CD Solutio"

May 6, 2026

5.0

Overall experience has been positive. It’s powerful, flexible, and supports extensive automation with a wide range of plugins. While setup and maintenance can be tricky and the UI feels a bit outdated, it significantly improves our CI/CD workflows once configured. Despite occasional plugin issues, it’s a reliable tool that saves time and boosts productivity for our development team.

Pros

As a Jenkins user, I like how flexible it is and how many plugins are available to fit different needs. It integrates well with our tools and helps automate builds and deployments efficiently. Once everything is set up, it saves a lot of time and makes our workflow smoother.

Cons

I find it can be difficult to set up and maintain, especially with many plugins. The UI feels outdated and not very intuitive. Managing pipelines and troubleshooting failures can take time, and plugin compatibility issues sometimes cause instability.

### "Functional but becomes way too complex"

December 22, 2024

3.0

Pros

The software itself is stable, it runs well and is not too complex to install

Cons

The fact that pipelines are built either with a UI which makes the pipeline tough to read when you have lots of conditions. The groovy language can also be used to write pipelines, but really ?? Let’s use a more common scripting language for this, maybe Python or ruby.

### "The industry standard for CI/CD"

April 25, 2026

5.0

Pros

Jenkins just makes it simple to run CI jobs. The pipeline syntax is easy to learn and so much better than the older UI-based jobs.

Cons

They need to update their UI/UX. Some areas feel clunky and Blue Ocean needs more administrator-level functionality.

### "Great CI Software"

September 11, 2025

5.0

Overall Jenkins is an excellent software that works well with our developer workflow. I am a big fan.

Pros

Incredibly powerful CI tool that allows us to be able to run developer test and integration test during different phrase of the dev process. The software is open source so you can easily customize it. All the community contribution went into jenkins made the software an incredible value for money

Cons

Jenkins uses their own DSL for configuring their job script, which has a high learning curve and is not the most intuitive. They could consider integrating other scripting languages if possible. Some upgrade and downgrade run into plugin incompatibility issue which is annoying.

### "Reliable CI/CD Tool with Great Automation Capabilities"

October 13, 2025

5.0

Overall, I really like Jenkins for its ability to automate the CI/CD process and integrate with all the automation tools, ensuring continuous testing and faster delivery. What I like least is that it can become a bit complex to maintain when there are many jobs and plugins involved. But with proper configuration and pipeline as code, those challenges can be managed effectively.

Pros

Jenkins is invaluable for automating the entire CI/CD pipeline. It integrates well with my Bitbucket, Maven, and Selenium and making it easy to trigger builds and run automated tests whenever there’s a code change.

Cons

What I dislike most about Jenkins is that managing and maintaining multiple Jenkins jobs can become complex over time.

### "Jenkins-Pros/Cons"

October 15, 2025

4.0

I started using Jenkins on a trial basis on my personal computer around 5 years ago. I must compared to another similar tool like TeamCity, it requires more to setup. However, in my current place of work, I have been using it on a day to day basis, and loving the experience. Its been very good and I am still developing my skills and experience.

Pros

Jenkins is a very good tool in software development and project execution. It facilitates team collaboration and integration with other tools like AWS service. It is a CI/CD tool which can ensure testing of software products before and after delivery and deployment. Its a cost effective means which removes manual efforts.

Cons

It requires a lot of skills and can be learned over several years. Unfortunately, it cannot be executed locally without a server and setup.

### "Massive Plugin Ecosystem"

March 11, 2026

5.0

Pros

I think the best feature in Jenkins is that I can customise it in my way and also integrates with major tec tools. It automates build, test and deployment processes and think this boosts team productivity. It's an open source widely adopted and integrates with GitHub quite well.

Cons

Interface sometimes can be a bit challenging to understand. Should be a bit more use intuitive, so beginners can find it challenging to break through steep learning curve.

### "Stable and flexible tool with a large plugin ecosystem."

September 5, 2025

4.0

My experience has been great, Jenkins is highly customizable with a large plugin ecosystem, has a strong community support, and it is highly reliable for automation testing.

Pros

Jenkins is a powerful CI/CD tool with great flexibility and stability. It’s excellent in terms of value for money, but the learning curve might be steep.

Cons

In general is a great tool, and have been in the market for a while, I would say: it seems a bit outdated and not very intuitive UI, setup and maintenance can be complex, and it has a heavy reliance on plugins.

### "Past its best"

January 9, 2024

4.0

Pros

In its time, Jenkins was an outstanding tool. It was my go to for automation or all kinds, not just continuous integration. I have successfully delivered several projects with it. Jenkinsfiles and JCASC have been solid attempts to improve the Jenkins experience over the years.

Cons

Jenkins is hard to operate, gives you fewer and fewer options for well-maintained plugins and it's relatively easy to break pipelines in hard to understand ways. I would not recommend using Jenkins now that there are so many better options. I have spent many hours in an organisation where it was the preferred tool, trying to make pipelines more reliable, build custom plugins and meet security standards. It can be done but other products have so much of that prebuilt, why spend the time!

Alternatives considered

Reason for choosing Jenkins

Github actions were considered unproven at the time. This was a reasonable judgement at the time, but with hindsight github actions would have been an excellent choice.

### "bad UI but good functionality"

February 28, 2025

4.0

In general we use jenkins often, and it deploys our software without too much trouble

Pros

Jenkins does what it needs to do. If the dev-ops team sets it up correctly the builds occur as expected.

Cons

Jenkins has a really outdated UI, it is kind of hard to navigate and know where everything is, but once you get used to it it is fine.

### "Must have agile tool - Jenkins "

August 21, 2022

5.0

If the project is being developed in agile methodology Jenkins is must have tool . It is open source also can be integrated with many other software and the best part is high level of automation can be achieved with use of Jenkins. CI/CD is one of the latest trends in the market and Jenkins make it possible to achieve.

Pros

Jenkins is one of the most required tool if developer are working in agile methodologies model . Continuous integration and continuous delivery can be achieved with help of Jenkins. Where in developer can build the code test and along with it deploy . Also Jenkins make it possible to integrate with other software like git , jira which makes tasks lot more easier

Cons

At first users may find it difficult to navigate through Jenkins but it's only matter of time till they get used to it . Maybe the UI maybe be done little user friendly

### "Infinitely powerful and extensible, but quite a learning curve"

December 27, 2023

4.0

There's no escaping the fact that Jenkins is a very powerful system which can be infinitely configured to your needs, no matter how obscure they may be. But as a solo developer or a small team, setting up and running Jenkins took an overwhelming amount of time that could have been spent working on more productive tasks.

Pros

I love that Jenkins and all plugins are completely free, and how customisable and extensible it is. You have complete control over every aspect of your pipelines and every tiny cog and dial is tweakable.

Cons

There is a steep learning curve, and setting up and maintaining the Jenkins environment can be an entire day job on its own. If you don't have a dedicated DevOps team to manage it, you might find yourself losing many productive hours to maintaining the CI system, and you might be better off with a CI system that does more for you out-of-the-box.

### "Product Build Version Management and Ad-hoc jobs Scheduling "

April 26, 2020

5.0

Jenkins has been a great tool for maintaining build version and scheduling timely jobs

Pros

Jenkins plays a important role in product development and deployment lifecycle, where a developer can build his code and give the build version to QA for testing, ones the build is tested it can be signed off and deployed to prod, Not one but many Different Applications can be created and can be built and maintain the build versions of each applications, Ad-Hoc scripts can be managed and can be triggered when required or schedule it in a timely manor, the jobs can be parameterised or non-parameterised, and can even set default parameter value, The scheduling of jobs are done using cron string, Usually we use linux shell scripts for job build configurations, it can also be done by many different ways. We can configure different executor machines for different jobs to distribute the load, Supports parallel processing of different jobs at the same time, User permissions are manageable (read, write, build etc.. ), It has lot's of native and third party plugins, for achieving different use-cases, and lot of community support, The features are well-documented inline, it has a great version control of the job configuration

Cons

Scheduling becomes little complicated if the job has to run in un uniform interval of time, for which we had to set up two jobs with the same build configuration and different cron scheduler, sometimes the application dropdown values disappears when used with different executors , Not a fully cloud-based solution, infrastructure should be managed internally, maintains limited build history,

### "Simplifying Deployment Pipelines with Jenkins"

July 13, 2023

5.0

Pros

I loved Jenkins for its extensibility, flexibility, and automation capabilities. With a wide range of plugins and integrations, I could customize it to fit my needs perfectly. Jenkins automated repetitive tasks, making our development process more efficient. It scaled effortlessly, handling projects of all sizes. The active community support and seamless integration with other tools were also fantastic. Jenkins significantly improved our development workflow.

Cons

I found a few challenges with Jenkins. Firstly, there was a steep learning curve, especially for beginners. Managing installations and plugin updates could be time-consuming, and the user interface felt outdated. Scaling Jenkins and troubleshooting issues were sometimes difficult. However, the community support and documentation were helpful in addressing these challenges.

### "A great tool for deployment control"

March 12, 2023

5.0

We use Jenking along with BitBucket which is our main Git repository for version control. These tools are connected so that we use the master branch in BitBucket to switch and update versions between our different environments like DEV, Test and PROD.

Pros

I like the fact that Jenkins is a really customizable tool for deployments. In your Jenkins jobs you can choose between deploying some of the features of your branch and also impose rules of deployment like what will be deployed first and last to check for dependencies and prevent errors.

Cons

There is nothing that I do not like in Jenkings. The UI is very simple and easy to use. The only thing I could say here is that some times the errors in the console output are not very straight forward in order to understand what component of the deployment really failed.

### "Best CI/CD pipeline Automation Tool"

March 2, 2023

5.0

Best CI/CD automation tool. We are integrating it with Blazmeter for automation load testing. We can track all deployment from console and also track log if we are facing any issues. It has best GUI which will update about each CI/CD pipeline state.

Pros

Jenkins is best CI/CD pipeline automation tool. We are using this for all our project repository. It's syntax is very easy to learn. I am using this for regular pipeline deployment as well as the scheduled pipeline trigger based on the regular expression. It reads the mapping from jules file and deploy code to mapped environment.

Cons

No issue find yet. As per me it's best CI/CD automation tool.

### "Jenkins - Your best friend for CI/CD."

May 27, 2019

5.0

I am using Jenkins to implement our CI/CD processes and boost our development team productivity.

Pros

\* Easy installation, it's really easy to install and configure, in a couple of hours you can have your Jenkins server up and running. \* Cross-platform: You can have your Jenkins master on Linux, and your slaves in Linux/Windows. \* It has a plug-in for everything. I am using plug-ins to integrate with Git/JIRA/Slack/Maven/Python/etc. \* Manage Jenkins is easy and user-friendly. \* You can configure your CI/CD pipelines, it's a very flexible tool. \* Schedule jobs are easy to set and reliable, you can trust them to run scheduler tasks. \* You can have your automation on Jenkins, once deployment pipeline is done, you can trigger your automation testing. It's great because you have everything in one single place and everything is coordinated.

Cons

\*When Jenkins slave is installed on Windows as service, and your server receives a Java update, sometimes your slave will get broken. I have faced this issue several times, and it's difficult to debug what is happening. The best option is to uninstall the slave has service and re-install.

### "Jenkins for test automation"

August 29, 2019

5.0

As a Software Quality Assurance and Automation, my main job after writing and automating the tests, is being able to run the tests daily. When the test base exceeds ten test cases, it becomes difficult and time consuming to execute test cases daily. That's why I use Jenkins, as it allows me to run my test cases daily, and the best part is that I can run mobile and web test cases, and test cases that combine the two. I created a jenkins job to execute the tests daily, and send me and to my team the execution report by email. The report contains all the passes and fails and screenshots of the failed test cases, the consumed time and the percentage of the passed and failed. I simply couldn't find a better tool to execute automated test cases.

Pros

\-The execution of the test cases on a daily basis -Executing mobile and web test cases -Recover the automation code from git for the test execution -The high quality reports generated by jenkins, that contain the time exeuction, the passes and fails, screenshots of the failed steps and the exact code line where the test failed -Configuring the email list where the report is sent -The easiness of use when it comes to checking the report -The free Jenkins documentation online On top of all, Jenkins is free :D

Cons

\-It is very hard to create a Jenkins job for beginners

Reason for choosing Jenkins

It is by far the best of its kind and it's free.

### "Review for Jenkins"

May 9, 2022

4.0

I have used Jenkins on cloud instances to run Java, Python, Shell as well as Robot framework scripts for various projects. Using Jenkins in my projects have reduced the dependency of running code from local system and have reduced execution time. The scripts can be easily run by anyone who has access to those Jenkins instance. Also, client can easily view the results of past runs of the jobs from Jenkins.

Pros

Jenkins is an essential tool for running automated scripts without human intervention. Jenkins can be directly integrated with the scripts stored in github via Jenkins Source Code Management and those scripts can be run using Jenkins projects. Various kinds of projects like Free style, maven projects can be created using Jenkins. Also, in the Post Build options mail ids can be configured to send reports and alerts after completion of test run. The Jenkins jobs can be selected to run in various suitable schedules daily, weekly or as required.

Cons

The configuration part of Jenkins is bit complicated. Not all Jenkins plugins are compatible with the code and updating Jenkins configuration is a cumbersome process. Also, sometimes, the Jenkins instances slow down a lot increasing the code execution time.
