Pros Allway Sync has been key to managing all of my syncing needs for over the past 10 years. Allways sync provides sync to cloud drives, portable hard drives, networks, systems, you name it. When trying to manage both personal and work files in Dropbox on a single user on a single computer, Allways Sync came to the rescue. I easily sync my files into my personal dropbox while my Cons There are issues syncing extremely large folders of items. It works best in smaller quantities. Massive backup is not its best usage. September 5, 2022 5.0 For over twenty years I have used this as a method of keeping a hard copy of all of our data on a remote server in addition to our local server and our cloud storage. Pros I use this to make backups to a remote server as a third safety measure after cloud and local server. It has an easy to use interface where numerous backup 'jobs' can be set up for quick use later on. Filters to include and exclude categories of files can be set up as well. It is a two step process. First the application analyses the two discs and reports any backup issues which need addressing before proceeding. These include unusually large quantities of file changes, later files being overwritten by earlier files etc. The user can choose to select ignore these warning or can address them, before continuing with the synch. Synchronisation is fast and accurate. Cons When issues with files are flagged up for user checking the links don't open the two locations of the files. Review Source AS Andrew S. " June 2, 2022 1.0 Cons I paid for the software but never received the licenses. I open Support Ticket with multiple post, but noone even answer the issue. Thus... Office Manager Law Practice Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Works on its own very quickly." February 25, 2020 5.0 This is fast. We have a huge server with thousands of files. Many times I have been working on documents and wanted to make sure my boss had access to them at home, and have gone onto Office 365 to manually load them just to find out that they already were there! Whenever I go to our backup computer to check on things I see it working hard doing constant backups, which is peace of mind for me! Pros When we switched to Office 365 we needed a way to easily back-up our files on our system (Drobo). I worked with an employee to find this, and it works great with Office 365. It is set to constantly run and backs up all three of our drives to Office 365, giving our employees the option of accessing our files from home when needed. Cons I am still learning a bit about this software, the person who did our IT work (who has since left our firm) knew a lot more and it's just because I'm so busy I haven't had time to properly experiment, but the only problem I have had is when the backup computer running this program shuts down due to a power outage or internet outage you have to bring it back up and tell it to sync again. However, this has not been a major problem. Reason for choosing Allway Sync This seemed to be the best way to back up our files, it works all on its own, quickly, and can handle multiple drives. Mr Consumer Goods Used the software for: 2+ years ### "File Synchronization that Really Does Work" December 5, 2019 5.0 I have several databases, websites and directories of correspondence that represent thousands of hours of work. It would be catastrophic to lose. I run Allway Sync every 15 days. It takes about 15 minutes and I can rest assured that it was done right. As a matter of fact, I had a hard disc crash earlier this year and was able to restore all data to a new hard drive in less than an hour. Pros Just like their tag line says, this is "file synchronization that works." I have used this software to back up my internal hard drive to removable hardware since 2005. I was searching for a replacement for Microsoft's disappointing failure, "my briefcase." Allway is free for occasional use, but I am so impressed, I purchased the license. First, it is intuitive. Just type in our browse to the two drive names and hit "Analyze." The software does a comparison analysis and shows you the new, the changed, the deleted, and unchanged files. Hit the "Synchronize" button and the software quickly updates one or both file folders depending on your settings. It will also synchronize with your website or cloud storage through ftp. Simple, fast, flawless, and free to try, it is the simple answer to file back-up and synchronization. Cons This software is flawless, if I have to complain about something, it is that the user interface is functional but boring. But when a product works as good as this one, who cares? Owner Entertainment Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Out of memory errors when synching large drives, difficult to use features (look at Free File Sync)" November 23, 2019 3.0 Get out of memory errors (on a machine with 64GB RAM) when synching large drives. Excluding is more difficult than it needs to be as are many other tasks with Allway Sync. I've switched to Free File Sync which is much better and easer to use not to mention FREE. I've donated to the developers because it's so user friendly and can handle synching an 8TB drive with ease (no errors). Allway Sync was OK till I found out about Free File Sync. Free File Sync remembers the last directory you were on when selecting folders Allway Sync always starts in it's folder on the C drive, not convenient at all. Pros It works well on small folders or drives Cons Memory errors on large drive or folder synching (increasing paging memory doesn't help). Exclusions and many other features are more difficult to use than they should be. Licensing cost too much for the quality of the program. Caution is advised. Pros Powerful, fairly straightforward software syncs your local files to a designated server location at the frequency you specify. Cons It is possible to have the sync software overwrite your newer versions of files if an out-of-date user logs in and syncs their outdated versions over your newer synced versions. Pros Both the free and the paid Pro version worked well, user friendly, communicative and fast. Until one day it stopped. Hundreds or error messages, drives being blocked. Cons Even on a paid Pro version there is no support at all. Sometimes you get a brief response asking for further info but after supplying additional info it remains quiet. For several months now. I have found it to be consistent and have not had any problems with it's syncing capabilities.
