March 12, 2019 5.0 Pros The software for PayPal Here app has increased efficiency with transactions for my small business. I'm frequently in a booth atmosphere where customers rarely carry cash. The booths that only take cash get less than half the business as their competitors. I switched from Square to PayPal this last year due to the flexibility of pay as you sell. It also has an incredibly easy format to inventory and create sales reports. Cons There are few glitches, but my main complaint is the extra fee to type in credit cards. Every event I have sold product with PayPal Here, I have at least one customer that has a stubborn card that won't read and I have to type their information. It raises my charge from 2.7% to 3.5%. Great overview of previous purchases and resolution center to help further assist with purchases. Great touch ID recognition, to access information regarding PayPal account much faster. Great QR code to share PayPal link to share or send funds to a registered PayPal account. Certain restaurants may participate in "ordering ahead" online. As a result, users are able to purchase meals online using a search engine to find a location. Send or request funds from anywhere with an available network or wifi access. Overall, PayPal is a great resource to utilize or recommend to friends and family. Cons The software is provided "as is" without warranty. Cons The only thing I would suggest is for Zelle to be compatible with more banking apps. I know it's compatible with most of the big ones, but there are still a few out there that aren't using Zelle. Pros It is very helpful to be able to accept payments via credit cards since so many people do not carry cash anymore and accepting checks can be risky. This app allows me to accept payments just like a bigger business and offer convenience to my customers. Sales tracking is a great perk as well. Cons There is a lot of clicking to get everything rang up and charged if you sell a large variety of items. This allows me to sell anywhere I am with just a phone. Pros You get a little triangle shaped card reader to accept credit cards. It’s a great way to accept another form of payment besides cash. Cons Not often but I have had the reader not want to read the card in which case you have to enter the card number manually. But this is rare. It has been a great tool Pros My favorite part of using the PayPal Here app was that it required very little set up to begin using and collecting money. I'm a freelance artist and I often will get a booth at local art fairs and I've been able to sell my art using the PayPal Here app to scan a customers card for payment. Another nice feature is that it goes straight into my PayPal account that I have tied to my website, so all of my payments are in one place. Cons The scanning of a card can be finicky. Since the device plugs into the headphone jack, your phone must be set to high volume for the payment to register correctly. I did not know this at my first art fair, so I would end up swiping a customers card multiple times, which didn't feel right and looked unprofessional. You can use it for personal or business reasons. If you have a card reader, you can attach the reader to your headphone jack on your smartphone. Once everything is attached, you can swipe the card for a payment or enter the card number manually. I think the app is really neat and nicely designed! It links to your PayPal account and you can log in quicker with your pin! Pros I really like how each payment shows up instantly on your PayPal account! Other payment systems may have a delay, but this does not. I highly recommend this app for various businesses because it is very helpful and provides an extra payment method for individuals who may not have cash. Cons So far, I have not had an issue with it. The swipe turns and is very sensitive. You sometimes have to swipe 2-3 times. I find it extremely convenient, reliable, trustworthy, and my go-to source for money transfers. Pros This app has been the industry leader and maintains that status through secure and reliable money transfers through a trusted name in the money transfer industry. Cons I least like the confusion, at least personally, through the addition of credit and pre-paid lines of money transfer. Just few fees will be deducted which is still affordable. Cons 1 - The recent activities on the top of the app sometimes doesn't reveal that it's recent or old.
