Integrates with business systems typically. Basic reporting capabilities through portal. Cons PCI compliance testing can be lengthy since they have so many terminal/transaction options and setups to chose from. Higher processing fees than some other processors. Review Source KK Kate K. President Alternative Medicine Used the software for: 2+ years ### "This company is crooked" May 23, 2024 1.0 I hate this company and hope that they get caught for their dishonestly and robbery of unsuspecting customers who are often too busy to be careful enough to monitor their crooked business practices. Pros nothing, I would never recommend anyone using them for their horrible service again. I am a hard working practitioner who was sleuthed and did not have time to catch their scheme. Cons They stole 18K from me by charging their monthly fees over 5 years for no services used. Many other customers have experienced this. They ripped me off by not sending statements at all via mail or email, and were hard to identify on my bank statement. They also continued charging me by doing auto withdrawals which I confused as my other merchant service company. I had cancelled my subscription to appointmentsplus and thought I was done and paid a high price. Clinician Health, Wellness and Fitness Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Disappointing Business Practices " February 20, 2026 1.0 My rating is due to poor customer service, enormous fees that were not part of the original agreement and a lack of transparency with changes in fee structure. Pros I've utilized Global Payment-TSYS in the past and did not have problems, but their current business practices are disappointing. Cons I was charged an Annual Fee of $499 that was not in existence when I signed my agreement and a $450 fee to develop their company (Infrastructure Brand Fee). My attempts to resolve the issue were met with promises of refunds and when I followed-up I was told these conversations were not documented. Review Source cC cecilia C. Review Source VR Verified Reviewer Owner Health, Wellness and Fitness Used the software for: 2+ years ### "To call them scam artists is not embellishing" January 3, 2025 1.0 Basically they raise rates without telling you and hitting you with fees that you have no control over (ex: annual fee, infrastructure fee, etc). The straw that broke the camels back was seeing that they tripled and quadrupled certain fees which ended up adding up to them charging 11%/month (look online at even the worst alternatives, these are predatory rates). They cost me nearly 1.5k in just 3 months of extra fees and when I brought this to their attention and that they were in breach of a rate review contract I had done with them the year prior to lower rates, they stated that contract actually wasn't legally binding because it was an "addendum" and simply offered to lower the rates back down but no refund. I still don't understand how this is legal but I just would rather be done with it instead of getting lawyers involved. I have no clue how this company exists Pros Used them for years as they were built into the software I use for my practice. Never had network issues processing any credit cards Cons Did an audit recently and to echo many people here, found that they had raised rates without making this clear and actually lock you into penalties if you don't catch the raises within 30 days (pay attention to the fine print at the bottom of certain billing statements) Review Source JB Janet B. I met with managers and they are not helpful. Representatives are not always accurate so call several times. Pros Web site works and strong sales department, but you don't get what they tell you Cons Fraud fees. They will add fees and do not allow any way to dispute. Beware. Added technology fee and said to wait until it hits the account. Then charges without my permission. Real ethical group of people. Pros nothing, nada, nil, not a single thing... Cons they charged my account for 10 years even though we cancelled out service with them. Bad on me for not checking my bank account. Charged me over $15,000 without ever processing a transaction. These people are certified crooks. " August 31, 2024 1.0 The new business model for TSYS is slamming. Slamming is a practice that signs you up at a fair rate but then switches your rate without your consent to a much higher rate later on when you are least likely to be paying attention. The practice is illegal for telcos to do to consumers but businesses have less protections. Since Global Payments bought Tsys this seems to be their primary business model. Global Payments also owns Heartland Payment Systems. If you have TSYS or Heartland, check your statements carefully. If you're not paying attention you could be getting slammed. Pros There is nothing that TSYS does better than other processors. Cons Outrageous price gouging. Charging triple the market rate. Review Source ML Mark L. Now they are charging a $229 fee for their own infrastructure upgrade. That is crazy. I work with several other merchant companies through my businesses and no one charges the fees like they do. For exorbitant fees, our cards are processed every month, and they've helped us continue to lose money. Cons They force a quarterly review of my camera security system with this rediculous scanning system, as if a business of our size is laundering money or something. It's a time waster, and they act each time as if it is the first time they are doing this. Reason for choosing TSYS Merchant Solutions I had no choice -- our franchise forced us to use them. Pros En lo personal este tipo de sistemas me fascinan, he usado este sistema por mas de 4 años y puedo decir que soy pro. La presicion de lectura de la tarjeta, los detalles en cuanto a posible fraude, los estados de cuenta, se puede ver las transacciones de los ultimos 12 meses, quisiera que fuera mas. Los ajustes a la cuenta se refleja de forma inmediata. Cons Es muy sensitivo, se puede bloquear con facilidad cuando ingresas a una pantalla no autorizada. The statements could only be viewed online. After seeing what we were previously paying in a year debited from our account over a few months, I tried to find out why. Our account statements were not available online until multiple calls later. After reviewing those statements we finally figured out why it was so high and then it took several emails calls and follow ups over three months of additional charges to get it corrected. Then at cancellation, hidden fees. Then additional fees added to the statement hat are tacked on for services or penalties that will only not be added if you call them within the month assessed to tell them you don't want the fees added. Pros There are no Pros to using this company. There processing is expensive and less efficient then any of todays various processors. Cons They charge hidden fees to your account that you will not know about unless you read every fine print on every statement that you must log in to get and review each month. If you are not going through every single fee on each type of transaction you will pay thousands of dollars extra until you call them and they will not be able to refund you. Pros Despite the complexity of the systems, the customer service for TSYS terminals and software is prompt and helpful. I've rarely had to wait long to be assisted, and they always provide a solution. The online transaction central is simple and straightforward to input and edit recurring and manual transactions. Cons Integration with our system was a all day affair, so I wish it could have been simpler. I also was never given a walkthrough of how the system worked by TSYS, and that would have been appreciated since I did have a few questions. Review Source WR Will R. Pros TSYS is great and can be linked to accounting software. I like that we can also run manual payments. Also we can do manual refunds when needed. Cons The payment history only go back to 6 months.
