Pros: I needed to find something specific that could work for my consulting engineering industry, interact with QuickBooks desktop, and with remote people. I am the owner, the IT, the accountant, the engineer, and I need something that can work logically and simply, not break the bank, provide good customer support when I need it (which they do, quickly). So far, it has been pretty easy to learn and set up.

Cons: I was not able to get one task set up for each person that worked for different billing rates. I had to set up a separate task for each.

Overall: It saves me tons of time and frustration entering several people's information into QuickBooks and then will download into invoices once it has been transferred. Put in as much info as you need in the description and it will populate.

Pros: Cloud based and integrates with Quick Books desktop. Easy for users to begin using with our much support from our back office. Many short videos with instructions on how to use. I like that the invoices are now one document with receipts included if needed to submit to clients. AT a glance you can see how profitable a job.
Lots of reporting possibilities, I am new user still learning how to use all the reporting options.

Cons: Setup was a difficult due to no real process suggestions such as step 1 - 10 ect.
I hope BT includes for future users more standardized set up process.

Cons: not much I don't like at this point I have used it ith another company and cant think of anything I would change based on usage

Comments: Support team has been friendly and very helpful!

Pros: User friendly interface with numerous features. Has saved me hours of time with my monthly invoicing. The ability to know where my staff is being utilized and what projects are most and least profitable.

Cons: There is nothing that I do not like yet, but you do need to invest the time to get all the benefits.

Pros: BigTime allows users from a variety of backgrounds to connect to the software from various platforms (desktop, laptop, smart phone) to track time per project, to track expenses on a daily basis with electronic submission of receipts, to run reports on time spent, to connect with external accounting software seamlessly.

Cons: the software has some limits on "naming" items that do not always correspond directly to our external software and do not fit within our company culture. (For example: In BigTime, billable means charged to the project, may invoiced or may not invoice. In our company culture, billable means an invoice will be sent for payment to the client.

Overall: Our company is not able to more accurately and completely track time to be charged to a project. Our systems are now more automated and more paperless.

Comments: We have a very complex payroll system and Big Time has been able to accommodate our needs. They've also assisted me in setting up specific reports that we use.

Pros: Big Time not only has an exceptionally easy interface for our employees - but their support team is also fantastic and super responsive when/if questions arise.

Cons: None that I can think of. Whenever we have an issue arise, support team is quick to assist.

We've used BigTime for many years. With the new IQ product we are expanding beyond just timekeeping.

Pros: Timekeeping and tracking are super easy. You can report on most anything and being able to export info is great. The support staff is quick, efficient and friendly.

Cons: A few things take a lot of steps to use effectively - you'll have to enter info, run a report to see the results and then change the info.

Overall: Better project tracking for project managers

Pros: Bigtime is user-friendly. Something that you will not be confused to use. The interface is plain and less complicated.

Cons: So far so good. I don't see any problem. Previous issues have already been fixed and I never experienced it again.

Pros: The web interface works well and is very intuitive to use. Since it is cloud based you can aceess it from any web browser.

Cons: I would like to be able to have more than one timer running concurrently, but I understand wht this is not allowed.

Regarding your question about running multiple timers at once - the reason for this is straight forward: BigTime timers are not a clock-in/clock-out system, but are tracking your time minute-by-minute, second-by-second, like a stopwatch. If you could run multiple timers at once, then, there's a possibility that you might double-charge some customers, or even accidentally charge "Customer A" for work that was actually done for "Customer B"- and no one wants that. However, it's very easy to switch from one timer to another - just a click! Pros: The transition from the old software was smoothe. The App is an awesome addition and is very easy to use.

Cons: The capability of the App to log credit card expenses is one of the upgrades we're waiting on. My employees love the app but we can't use it because they can't log their credit card expenses.

Cons: I would like to work in tables for quicker input. Because it is complex and captures a lot of data, report drafing can be challenging.

Pros: that it keeps the entries from last week so that we don't have to completely start over each week. It is easy to login to system.

Cons: That there are no short cuts for the comments. You can't create custom reports unless you are an administrator - it is hard to find stuff that you entered months ago

The specific permission would be "Report: BigTime Report Administrator" and if you, as a user, are given this permission, then you can create and edit reports without being a System Admin. Of course, this is ultimately up to your company, however, but the ability to do so exists within BigTime. Pros: BigTime has many useful tools that we're using several times a day across the entire company. It's helped with communication, management & all our invoicing needs. Easily the most useful unification system we've implemented.

Cons: Initially there were concerns with compatibility along with concerns about cost. Thankfully it integrated well with our current networks & ended up cheaper than we anticipated.

Switching to BigTime has saved us a large amount of time and makes our invoicing more accurate.

Pros: The software is easy to use and integrates with quickbooks seamlessly. We have upped our productivity just by reducing time entry.

Cons: We would like to be able to add customer and items into bigtime that then sync into quickbooks. It can be difficult to create a new item in the middle of workflow.

Pros: Ease of use and prompt service, the invoicing and time tracking is invaluable. Budget monitoring is easy too and the connection to Quickbooks is perfect!

Cons: When I can't fix a problem on my own, it is frustrating and does slow down my productivity but the support by BT is prompt and just have to send an email to get it fixed is easy.

Pros: We use Big Time to properly track how much time each employee have devoted to a certain project on a daily basis. In this method, we know how we can bill our clients, and how we can properly allocate our resources.

Cons: An error may occur sometimes when submit your time logs. It sometime duplicates the times you have worked on a certain task. The workaround is that you have to make sure that your total time is equivalent to the actual time you have worked. Nonetheless, the admins can clear the incorrect entries if you have submitted it by error.

Overall: It allows our company to see if we are properly allocation our resources to all our clients. We also are able to detect if we are over staffing our projects.

Pros: 99% of the time, there is someone available in the chat to answers my questions or help me to accomplish a task. Several ways to learn on how to use this software a rich library of videos and written information online.

Cons: None that I can think now. I'm pretty satisfied with this software and have not heard complaints from my co-workers either. Happy customer.

Pros: We like how easily you can track budgets with each project. Also, like how easy it syncs to Quickbooks.

Pros: Easy to understand for the end user and easy to administer. Sync function works as designed and interface has improved with phone app and new version.

Cons: Missing one feature - Let the admins setup and apply Holiday defaults to employee timesheets. This would eliminate a lot of issues that come up every pay period that includes a Holiday .
For example, employees inadvertantly use a regular work code for a Holiday or they manage to use the Holiday code for the entire work week. If it defaulted on the sheets that would eliminate most of this distraction.

Comments: When I subscribed, I made a specific request to be able to start sending out invoices. I am a very small business, that grew quickly, and was very behind in my billing. When the first tutorial began, I asked the presenter if would be able to submit an invoice at the end of the tutorial. They were not aware that was my critical need and proceeded with the tutorial for setting up the background information for the product. I would have to take another tutorial before I could submit an invoice. After the first tutorial, I want back to my old system of invoices....a little clumsy, but effective...I was really disappointed that the tutorial was a canned script, and my request to get an invoice produced on the first tutorial was not provided. I realized Big Time was not flexible in this way. I realized I am too small to have a staff person assigned to managing the software, so I want back to doing the excel spreadsheet.

Pros: Seems ok...the sales people were good....I wish I had the time to learn the system. but I was not able to get an invoice out.

Cons: did not get good initial responce for support. They are probobly good for a medium to large company.

Pros: It's quick and snappy to use for the most part. It doesn't take me long to fill out my time sheets.

Cons: The interface is antiquated and clunky. When submitting time sheets is asynchronous, but it doesn't communicate well if something is rejected so I often think I've submitted a timesheet only to find out later it has been rejected. From and end-user perspective it's hard to understand and use.

Pros: I have been evaluating BigTime and have found it very easy to track time and expenses. The resource allocation and revenue projection feature has been very helpful. Now I can easily see which of my staffers are being over- or under-utilized and adjust hourly allocations accordingly. The reporting ability is particularly powerful, allowing me to show my project managers how resources are being utilized on their projects.

Pros: Easy to use, simple yet able to detail what is needed to enter in time and expenses. Finding it east to manage my time using it throughout the day, each day. The mobile app makes it portable and able to keep current on my entries.

Pros: The time tracking ability is great. We just started using it a month ago, so there's definitely going to be room for improvement and adjustments along the way. We're coming from Quickbooks and an in-house tracking system, so fingers crossed this is a step up.

Cons: Coming from Quickbooks so it's an adjustment. The reporting in BigTime is VERY intricate, sometimes it's overwhelming. Having the ability to customize everything is great, but it didn't give us the comparative reports we were looking for. But our customer service rep was outstanding and did her best to get us the info we needed.

Pros: -depth of functionality - flexibility in managing different projects which have different metrics for performance and / or different reporting requirements!

Cons: Some simple functions are not easy to find without support; ie: linking tax codes to invoices.
Also, being able to see a preview of a pdf invoice before having to generate it and then look at it, would be MUCH more helpful and save a lot of time mucking around with pdf's trying to get formatting correct.

Overall: Great control; one stop shop for all project and client data; ease of interface with QB online!

Pros: Still learning all of the functionality and am still in setup mode. Brannon has been fantastic to work with and is always very responsive to any questions or issues I encounter.

Cons: My only con is that it has everything and the kitchen sink which is both good and bad. The good is it will do alot for you. The bad is that it can be a bit overwhelming. The solution I need is simpler than perhaps many users. That said, I do like having the capability to think forward and consider other possibilities.

Pros: I like BigTime's ability to sort and filter when pulling specific and general reports. This really helps me in the functionality, especially when exporting to Excel. It saves me a step there and makes the process a lot more cohesive!

Cons: Character limits! I don't like that certain tabs in the Project List inhibits the number of characters you can write while describing your project or your PO amount, etc.

Pros: Very good time sheet and expense program. It's simple, yet very flexible. You can customize fields. The connection to QuickBooks is also very good.
The support team is also great. Mr. Brannon Hollingsworth gave me a very good introduction training.

Cons: Some buttons are not very visible. They should be made bold so that the users will be able to see them clearly.

Pros: Similar to Quickbooks the software allows you to change what you need changed on the fly. Multiple billing rates, expense tracker and detailed billings look professional.

Cons: Not as intuitive as Quickbooks. Need to take some training to perform simple tasks. Formatting of invoices was cumbersome and confusing. Also not a big fan of monthly billings for use of software.

Pros: The software offers a great way to keep track of employee projects and PTO time. The reporting feature is extremely helpful in pulling quick data, such as hours worked in a specific range or remaining hours for a project/PTO. Training employees on the software is quick and clean because the software is comprehensible.

Cons: We've struggled with some intricacies that we've asked if modifications can be made. The response was if an area of the software is changed it affects all clients of BT. One example involves invoicing. It is confusing to us why hours entered by an employee are available to invoice even if the hours have not been approved. We have a few admins, so there are different admins approving hours and invoicing.

Comments: I like it overall. I think a Chrome extension/Firefox plugin for the timer would be awesome. I currently use Toggl for tracking my time time throughout the day because of that, I then use BT for the actual timesheet.

Pros: I think that the usability of the timesheets is very high, as well as the ability of administrators to go back and adjust entries.

Cons: I think that there are some areas that could be developed a little more, mainly My Company > Project List > Project. I think a standalone section for accessing a project could be helpful, rather than needing to stay on the list. However, I also see a lot of cases where the list is helpful. Maybe a popup window or a separate section that gives the user a larger view of the Project they are working on.

The entry for billable time, adding team members to projects, and monitoring WIPs has been efficient

Pros: Flexibility, phone application is a great tool, entering expenses and capturing receipts can be done immediately.

Pros: The ease of use. I appreciate the layout and the app is absolutely perfect. I was able to load my entire team into the program without using any of the training material.

Cons: Vocabulary is not entirely intuitive, but the customer service agent responded to my questions almost immediately. While I would prefer a little bit more customization, I have no real complaints.

Pros: The staff enters their own time instead of writing out their time on paper and giving it to the secretaries to enter.

Pros: I was trained on the old version, but when we upgraded it became much easier to use. I also like the new look.

Cons: I do a lot of invoicing through the software. One thing I don't like is when I go to save an invoice, it will randomly apply sales tax. There are instances I have to change it back a few times. When it syncs to QB, I have to go through those invoices (50-80/month) and correct it. That is frustrating.

Overall: It allows us to have job/client information and bill from time.

Pros: This software has really made it possible to track everything in one place and it can easily be customized to fit your type of business and how you operate. The customer service is second to none. The initial training is top notch and they can walk you through everything to help you get set up. They are quick to respond and get you through every problem you encounter along the way. Worth every penny

Cons: 4 stars for "ease of use" is because of the flexibility to handle numerous types of companies the amount of options can be overwhelming but once it's set up correctly and can comprehend the work flow for your company it gets easier to manage changes and additions to your system. Some of the important functions in the system are often small text links hidden at the bottom of the screen and are hard to find especially if you're not used to navigating the system. It would be great if they update these to buttons on the screen in a place that is easier to find.

Overall: Managing our time and invoicing more efficiently and put it into a functioning system and process rather than just using spreadsheets.

Pros: The ability to communicate in detail with QBD and QBO. FYI to all who job cost... You CANNOT job cost in QBO. It is not a limitation of BigTime, it is a limitation of QBO. Which is what i mean by my partial experience answer above... (allow more text there).. if onboarding is completed with a premeeting checklist about the firms existing workflow and time management and by someone intimately familiar with the industry that is using BigTime the cons below could be addressed upfront. The team at BigTime were difficult to get a hold of but once they were aware they worked like crazy to get us setup and working in the time frame we had. We moved our QBO file back to QBD (we had to do the testing on our own because the team at BT didn't know why job costing wasn't working in QBO) Once we moved back to QBD the job costing, invoicing, payroll work like a charm inside QBD. Hands down, it is the best integration with QBD of any practice management software out there... We had 2 people who spent 8 months testing many software solutions... most were lacking at least 1 "critical" requirement... Big Time was not. As we become aware and work through things like "terminology" we are becoming more and more confident in the workflow and keeping track of what is due when and who has what and what state the work is in. This is key as we go into tax season but also something we cannot live without on a day to day basis as 95% of our work is recurring on various time schedules. Thank yo

Cons: The wide range of terminology used in the software is confusing and causes errors to be made during implementation. Examples: Start Date and End Date... without these terms being defined you would think that start date is the day the work should begin and that End Date is the DUE DATE. Not so within Big Time. For recurring tasks, Start Date means Due Date in Big Time language. Another example: Completed vs Archived. Completed in most software solutions means that the job is finished or done; and archived means done and sent to storage with no recurrence nor future work is expected. In Big Time the term Archive means Completed or Finished or Done and removes the task from the workflow list and generates the next task in the reccurence. In BigTime the term Completed means something different... still unsure what it means because even when you update a task/project status to "completed" the task remains on the workflow list.

Overall: full integration with our financial software - invaluable... there are many great software solutions out there that do what they do fantastically, however they lack full detailed integration with financial software... not Big Time! BigTime allows you to manage workflow and not miss deadlines. You can quickly reassign work, monitor deadlines, track phone calls/messages, assign tasks, view work in progress, allocate work, and also track all financial functions related to this work inside your financial software. No more having to track accounts receivable and client payments in two systems. After spending 8 months with 2 people trying and testing multiple practice management solutions, Big Time was the best and satisfied all of the "critical" requirements.

Pros: The simple and easy format projects and tasks. We needed to create projects with multiple tasks quickly for our employees to access and we were able to do that quickly.

Cons: Not always easy to edit once invoices are created. I am still getting used to the software and sometimes do not select the correct items needed from the start and have to delete the invoice and recreate.

Pros: Has been built to handle the flexible and changing needs of time tracking reporting, such as the shift from managerial timesheet review to review by project team leaders. Comprehensive in the sense that time tracking, expenses, reporting are all included. Few packages available do all three.

Cons: The navigation is sometimes a little confusing with windows inside of windows, so not sure where or how to scroll. Also, dialog boxes run off the screen and can't be seen till you scroll up. Would be nice to have the window autoscroll enough to always make the menu choices visible.

Pros: Customization is wonderful to accomplish our goals and report what management needs to make decisions.

Cons: Some limits on rates that are specific to our organization are not able to be included in the big time software.

Pros: I just started using BigTime but I was able to configure it for our company in just a few short hours of learning. It's format works great for our consulting company because it has flexible ways to assign rates for time entry/invoicing. Expenses also work well for reimbursable expenses for our employees. It also has the best Quickbooks integration I've seen in a Time and Expense app. It does two-way syncing between Quickbooks and BigTime and also creates all the necessary time, expense, bill, and invoice entries I need in Quickbooks. I compared all the other available apps for integration with Quickbooks and BigTime was the by far the best choice.

Cons: It's more expensive than I'd like, but it's the only product that met our needs, and for that we're happy to pay a little extra.

Pros: Have not used long enough to form an opinion, but so far the system is very easy to navigate and seems to meet our needs.

Pros: Pulling the time tracking into QuickBooks and then creating invoices with the time and what was done for that project. I also love the reports. We can now track our time doing all the extra services for a client and see if we are making enough money or just breaking even.

Cons: At times it is confusing especially the integration with QuickBooks. It is a very in depth program and I feel I have to tackle the whole thing at once. I feel the more information per client the better reports we will get back so it just takes time and a learning curve to get to that .

Overall: The biggest benefit is better invoicing on our services because the time is entered and then integrated into quickbooks.

This software has made our lives so much easier.

Pros: The ease of time tracking for employees and the detail they can fill in for each client. The fact that all time is captured for each client is the biggest Pro.

Cons: The sync with Lacerte didn't work for us as it duplicated clients that were imported from QuickBooks.

Customer rep was very knowledgeable about the system and able to answer all my questions during our call.

Pros: I like how customizable it is to upload our clients to be able to track the information we want to track. It is not a one size fits all solution, which is a large appeal. Plus it is easy to use, even from the admin standpoint.

Cons: I wish there was a bit more customization on buttons that can be on the timesheet itself, but overall not many cons come to mind thus far.

Easy to learn and use with great support when there is a question.

Pros: Love the easy functionality and level of detail that is available with a few clicks. Invoicing is EASY!

Pros: Easy to use, The integration with QBO was smooth. The ability to generate custom reports gives you a great insight on projects management. Employees love the timekeeping app.

Cons: There are times that you can't connect immediately to Customer Support for help. They do get back to you within a couple of hours. Wish there was a support number.

Overall: Time saving, better reports.

Fast and excellent support. Very satisfied and highly recommend!

Pros: Easy to use. Makes life easier by uploading the time directly to QuickBooks for easy payment processing of independent contractors.

Cons: Difficulty handling large number of projects. When projects are made inactive in QuickBooks the information is not reflected on Big Time.

Pros: The customer service is great. It syncs easily to QBO. The software does everything we need it to do.

Cons: I am interested in seeing some improvement to the organization of the website. I wanted to change some expenses and I had to go in to the staff list to make those changes. Not very intuitive when one of the tabs is "time/expense".

Pros: Software is great to track all hours spent per day. It shows us what projects we are working on and having the budget tracking helps tremendously. Ease of use and any issues, customer service is within a click of a link.

Cons: I wish there were more options to create our own customized invoice. It is minimal compared to what the pros are but something to improve on.
