It streamlined my transaction management more than I expected and cut down on back-and-forth emails with my TC. The prefilled forms and automatic commission calculations are game-changers. Yes, the “start over” issue when correcting mistakes is a pain, but the time I save on a daily basis far outweighs that drawback. I’d recommend it to any agent who wants to spend less time on paperwork and more time closing deals. Pros I absolutely love how easy BoldTrail Back Office is to use and how everything is prefilled for me. As a real estate agent, I don’t have time to dig through complicated software. The moment I log in, my transactions are organized, commission splits are auto-calculated, and required fields are already populated based on my brokerage settings. It saves me hours every week and reduces errors. The interface is clean, intuitive, and actually feels designed for agents, not just accountants Cons The biggest frustration is that if you make a mistake and need to correct something, you often have to start the entire transaction over from scratch. There’s no simple “undo” or edit-in-place feature for certain fields once they’re locked in. It’s especially annoying when a small typo forces you to re-enter dozens of fields. I wish they’d add a more flexible editing mode or at least a warning before locking data. Broker Real Estate Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Can't stand BoldTrail Back Office" November 2, 2025 1.0 Horrible. This is not the first transaction management software I've used but it is by far the worst. Pros The only thing I like is the ability to email documents and the email body into a transaction. The email body is captured in the activity and can be printed from there. Cons There is nothing else I like about this program. It needs the ability to create additional folders for documents that are not part of the contracts. Copies of advertising in print, social media and other online sources. We need the ability to add more than one document to a checklist placeholder. For example a home inspection has a companion form the inspection response form. The buyer replies to the home inspection and may ask for repairs or additional inspection. Seller then uses the same form to respond to Buyer. Buyer may respond to Seller on the same form again. This could go on for several iterations. All of the forms should be captured. Broker shouldn't have to keep creating new placeholders for each iteration and they shouldn't have to save then merge the iterations. Contacts we should be able to import them from our contact database instead of manually entering them again. Constantly have to go out an come back into a window to get documents to display. Windows need to scale down to half a screen or less and still display all panels so we can work with multiple windows open. When an offer is loaded into the listing transaction you have to change the list price for the correct amount to show in Finance Commission. The field there is mapped to list price not offer price. If you have a new listing that's under contract right away adding the listing checklist and an offer checklist you can't tell which checklist a common form will go to when you split and assign forms. If I were to work on this list while I was working in the system I could keep adding issues. Bottom line, I don't like any part of what I have to use. Individual brokers like myself, and the Broker/Owner have purchased DocuSign individually. So we didn't really switch just dropped the transaction management. That was a mistake. I like having the categories to separate my business. It really helps Pros It keeps all my accounts organized and I love the pre populated forms. That is a time saver. I do like the way we can add to an already signed document and not lose signatures because some things do need to be added to pass it along. Cons I really do not like that when you log in it asks you to check a box to be remembered and if you close your browser and reopen it a few seconds later, it doesn't remember you. I would like to log in and not have to do it again for a month or so. Also, once in the System, I would like to have a way to organize the documents in a checklist. For example, if we have 6 counter offers, I would like to be able to put the offer first then the counters in order rather than having to search for them. Every time we have had a suggestion or needed support, it has been readily available. Pros Back Offie has been crucial in helping our team keep transaction management efficient and secure. The checklists, visibility, and task lists are used daily and heavily with our team. Cons The form management could be more user friendly. Being able to create your own form packages is an option, but requires a lot of time building. I enjoy using the software and it helps keep me organized. I would recommend the program to other real estate teams and agents. Pros I like the transaction management part of BoldTrail. I have the ability to create the transaction from start to finish and keep everything located in an easy spot. The program makes sending for electronic signatures a breeze. I also like the contact section. I can place a contact in the contact section and all their information is ready and available when we start getting into showings and making offers. Cons I really liked that the buyer side paperwork was easier to find when I first started using the software. Now the buyer transaction side of things is buried under a different section and I forget about it. Populating signatures and dates should be much more automated through templates. Also, one of the fields that you should let me drop onto a line would be name of one of the principles. Right now I have to text. Enter names when you do not auto populate the name. Pros I like that all of the documentation associated with a file can be managed well. It’s easy to have signed documents end up in the folder. Cons The auto population of signatures and dates is really bad. Writing an offer takes twice as long as it did using my old system. Cons The customer service moving off chat, with a designated team. The commissions page has stopped functioning correctly. The email function doesn't always pop up the people from the transaction. We used Brokermint for years and I find it much easier to use than DocuSign. Since the integration with BoldTrail, I have found that the updates make things even better, especially with the additional questions required in the main menu. Pros I love that transactions are easily accessible. Especially as an Administrator. Templated documents make preparing packets for e-sign a breeze. It is easy to create a packet and add documents from your pc. When on the go, I can access all documents from my mobile device. Pros Easy and smooth to operate within the app, it automatically generates all the info that we type in. It keeps all the info maintained and organized. User-friendly when other parties receive any email for review or signature. Cons Sometimes it misses out some type-in infos (some technical stuff). I would like to see a more detailed version on the mobile app too, similar to using it on the website/laptop. I would recommend it to other brokerages. Pros Being a User and not an administrator, I have the benefit of having everything set up so I may go in a do any type of transaction with a pop-up list of everything that needs to be done. I thank Brokermint for giving the administrator the ability to do so. It has made doing transactions of any type easy and understandable. I am able to keep all my documents loaded and backed up on Brokermint and retrieve them at any time. Although, we are taught to back up our documents in our own files. I just like the ease of the program the best. Cons I don't like being able to correct mistakes I make without having to contact an administrator. We have been happy with it since using this program. Pros Customer service online chat is great. Unlimited space is amazing. Love the lists we can assign docs to. Easy to look up past files. Easy to download anything scanned to a file. Easy to assign agents and enter data. Cons It would be nice, as the office admin, if I created a new "private" contact (seller/buyer) for an agent, who I appointed "Transaction owner" on their transaction, if the program would also let the agent edit this contact person later on. Instead it greys it out and they are unable to edit the contact on their end unless the contact is set to "public" I think the office admins and the agent named the "transaction owner" should be able to edit all contacts added if set to "private" Many of our agents have been upset about this. I feel like even if the office admin adds a contact for an agent, states the contact belongs that agent, the agent as the transaction owner should be able to edit the contact at any time instead of being blocked from it. Other than that, we love this program. I think both the office admins and the transaction owner should be able to edit a private contact that is assigned to them. Thank you.
