With this knowledge I now feel completely prepare to develop all my needs in terms of external facing systems and internal ERP systems. It is important though to have a good background on data management to keep the good performance of the system. Pros I´m single handedly developing a startup. My operation is running without any problem and I am using an extremely low budget to maintain the system and operate it with other devices. Bubble is truly unbelievable (when combined with Airdev templates). Cons It is a little difficult to find information on the inner operations of the system, which makes it a bit hard to truly become an expert. The system can also be a bit slow to first load, which can make you loose a few users. Reason for choosing Bubble Alternative products would take too long to develop. I needed something that I could dominate the technology without the high expenses of the traditional development methods. Bubble integrates all of my needs on a single platform. It was a real opportunity to create proof of concept. But now that I am becoming an entrepreunor with more scalability problems. I have to admit that Bubble does not match these challenges coming so we plan to stop using it. Pros Very easy to create apps , do custom stuffs. Very easy to go into Development through it , a very good community on your forum and good reactivity from the CS team. Cons Performance like I said, very poor for ecommerce and even for an app to use every day as a team. And the second on is hat we can read the DB fastly when it comes to advanced filters. We have to think about workarounds, which oblige us to store the data twice which is a lot of work. and even with that this is not that easy to do. I am doing push alerts and more from native enviroments, built several complex social platforms/apps and also the template that zeroqode and bubble provide are also a spectacular solution to start from as opposed to from scratch! Bubble's Support Team responses are fast and accurate. The list of examples and opportunities to practice and learn are another example of how the company is always trying to help anyone to learn and be creative. Bubble is a great tool to provide sophisticated solutions in an affordable and professional way. Pros Bubble provides all needed integration, and/or the ability to integrate to very much any API. The simple way of presenting the tools to create complex solutions helps to focus in creating vs learning. Of course, learning is always good to use its full potential. Bubble provides the necessary resources to concentrate in the application and not so much in the implementation. Pros Fantastic no-code option for people comfortable managing their own tech, development, and prototyping in-house. Wouldn't have been able to work through our idea, product validation, concept, and MVP feature set without Bubble (unless we used an alternative--but Bubble was 100% the right choice for us). Cons It is worth mentioning that users who are not comfortable with technology as a whole may need more time to learn the basic concepts, functions, and how to use Bubble--or any other no-code tool. If you're comfortable with most digital tools and platforms shy of a few hours of hands-on use to get familiar with new UI/UX, you'll be totally fine. However, I still choose Bubble as my only go-to no-code development tool. Because it meets all my web/mobile development needs, from frontend to backend. In one powerful tool. Cons People said to me that Bubble is difficult to learn. I agree. Many Bubblers claimed to be "professional" since there is no industry-wide recognition like the traditional code. In the beginning, things were great, then you realize the pricing model problem and the problems of stability and performance. The lack of working with several users at a time is great for 2001 but not for now. I will recommend only for playing not for creating serious things. Why? - Lack of support, even if you pay more (in my case more than 300 bucks - Lack of performance - Lack of stability - Plugins, bad pricing model - Plugins, low-quality plugins - Lack of good documentation - Your apps are hackable in a simple way, and THEY DON'T CARE Pros The UI is really bad and there is no help for creating anything from scratch. Anyway, once you understand the basic concepts is quite simple to create something that works. Cons The pricing model for the plugins is really bad. You cannot test them, you need to buy them and figure out how to use them. The documentation is not integrated, some of the plugins don't work well. The support level is inexistent, even if you pay. I've very rarely found technical limitations, and most of the time there's a workaround that allows you to achieve what you need. I've been able to set up APIs and connect with other systems in very short time The platform and support is growing like crazy. Cons Initially, it has a learning curve, but if you have a coding background, it's easy to get used to the bubble logic. Some procedures are a guess work. Pros I have never seen any app as powerful as bubble while being so simple to use. You can almost build anything that you can think of. A replica of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram or any other platform can be build on bubble. Cons It's mainly for MVP or for some small to medium-scale projects. I mentioned you can make a replica of powerful platforms but not at that scale. You can replicate the functionalities but only a few thousand of users will be able to use it at once. I can build almost anything I like without hiring a programmer. Pros In 1999 I started working as a web designer. And since then I have tried a lot of software to build websites and applications. I tried to learn to code but it never worked out. Bubble is the first tool that makes it possible for me to not only design websites and applications but also build them. Cons The pricing model. It would be great to have the possibility to upgrade the needed capacity in smaller steps. The other thing that I don't like is the absence of building 2FA into your application is not build in for the smaller pricing plans. Increasing security should not be a paid-for option. The customer support is stellar and there's a very useful community. If you need to do something that is not within the regular feature, you'l certainly find a plugin for few dollars. Pros I'm not a developer but I managed to build a full functioning application (also wrapped for mobile) for paying customers. I could learn by doing also thanks to great forum and an active community.There is simply nothing as good as Bubble out there. Even if you find something easier to start with, you'll find out you won't be able to scale. With Bubble the sky is the limit. Cons In the last two years they had few downs that lasted way too much. In the last six month didn't happen anymore. I recently had problems with corrupted cache and, in general, you cannot be 100% sure that a page will immediately retrieve updated data.On the admin side I find they should improve the management of scheduled workflows. the interface is very basic and you can't download them.They should provider an easier way to wrap for mobile. Pros Bubble is super fast at building & deploy a functional solution. You can do everything you want at pixel level. Workflows are fully under your control... there is really no limits (in comparison with other no-code tools). You can call any API you want & even add code if it's really necessary (i never had to do it). You can test & debug everything directly so you make very few mistakes. The (not so) new responsive engine makes it super easy to build responsive for any screen size. Cons The "components" library can be improved to save huge amount of time. But some exists out of the box but need additional subscription on third party partners. It could save tons of hours to have pre-built page templates and configurable small components like "x-closing window", popups, menus, etc. just like we can style every type of input, text, button, etc. it could be nice to be able to build and save our "small component library" (maybe it can be done with reusable elements but it's not that clear.Have some wizard to set up the basic layout in the most efficient way could be nice : main menu with Option set and Repeating group, single index page with hiding groups "with url parameters" on that same menu option set, etc. Reason for choosing Bubble Flexibility and full control Review Source AB Alex B. CTO Retail Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Very Slow Speed / Not Great Support / Expensive" February 3, 2022 1.0 We used Bubble to create an MVP. However, the speed is very disappointing. Also it is very buggy. Some days, some of the functionality (e.g. taking payments) just stop working. Or the layout brakes without any changes from the developer's side. The biggest downside is definitely the speed. It is not possible to run production apps on bubble because of that. Another big issue is the support. Imagine paying 500USD per month not being able to get real life support. The tech support needs days to reply to simple questions. Additionally not being really helpful. E.g. their reply to the speed issue was: 4 seconds load time on most of the pages is OK. Well... maybe it was in 1995, not in 2022. Pros It's easy to start with and speed up the development of a prototype. Cons 1) It is very (!) very slow. All simple operations take very long to load. 2) It is very expensive. If you are on production mode (that has still very unacceptable speed), you pay over 500USD per month 3) The support is slow and not great. They charged wrong credit card and don't want to refund it. So be aware of financial problems you might experience.
