With this knowledge I now feel completely prepare to develop all my needs in terms of external facing systems and internal ERP systems. It is important though to have a good background on data management to keep the good performance of the system. Pros I´m single handedly developing a startup. My operation is running without any problem and I am using an extremely low budget to maintain the system and operate it with other devices. Bubble is truly unbelievable (when combined with Airdev templates). Cons It is a little difficult to find information on the inner operations of the system, which makes it a bit hard to truly become an expert. The system can also be a bit slow to first load, which can make you loose a few users. Reason for choosing Bubble Alternative products would take too long to develop. I needed something that I could dominate the technology without the high expenses of the traditional development methods. Bubble integrates all of my needs on a single platform. It was a real opportunity to create proof of concept. But now that I am becoming an entrepreunor with more scalability problems. I have to admit that Bubble does not match these challenges coming so we plan to stop using it. Pros Very easy to create apps , do custom stuffs. Very easy to go into Development through it , a very good community on your forum and good reactivity from the CS team. Cons Performance like I said, very poor for ecommerce and even for an app to use every day as a team. And the second on is hat we can read the DB fastly when it comes to advanced filters. We have to think about workarounds, which oblige us to store the data twice which is a lot of work. and even with that this is not that easy to do. Wouldn't have been able to work through our idea, product validation, concept, and MVP feature set without Bubble (unless we used an alternative--but Bubble was 100% the right choice for us). Cons It is worth mentioning that users who are not comfortable with technology as a whole may need more time to learn the basic concepts, functions, and how to use Bubble--or any other no-code tool. If you're comfortable with most digital tools and platforms shy of a few hours of hands-on use to get familiar with new UI/UX, you'll be totally fine. In the beginning, things were great, then you realize the pricing model problem and the problems of stability and performance. The lack of working with several users at a time is great for 2001 but not for now. I will recommend only for playing not for creating serious things. Why? - Lack of support, even if you pay more (in my case more than 300 bucks - Lack of performance - Lack of stability - Plugins, bad pricing model - Plugins, low-quality plugins - Lack of good documentation - Your apps are hackable in a simple way, and THEY DON'T CARE Pros The UI is really bad and there is no help for creating anything from scratch. Anyway, once you understand the basic concepts is quite simple to create something that works. Cons The pricing model for the plugins is really bad. You cannot test them, you need to buy them and figure out how to use them. The documentation is not integrated, some of the plugins don't work well. The support level is inexistent, even if you pay. There are only a few occasions where it hasn't been possible to use bubble but most of the time it's my go to tool for real life prototyping. Although there is no real support from Bubble themselves, there's a forum where you'll most likely find the answer to your problem. The forums search isn't great so i've found it's best to use Google to search the site. The UI isn't amazing but if you're used to wireframing tools such as Moqup then you'll get to grips with this pretty quickly Pros Bubble allows me as a Product Manager to prototype working solutions that we can test with real users, without the need of a developer. This helps get feedback early on before we have racked up expensive development costs. The learning curve is steep, but once you've got the hang of how to work with Bubble most things can be prototyped with it. We're able to create new feature ideas that can connect to our main app. Existing users of our app can easily log into the prototype and start using the new feature. They're able to provide us feedback right away. Cons One of the limitations of Bubble is that the API Connector can't handle API Responses that contain nested arrays. This means we're unable to use Bubble when working with large data sets or to display graphs when using these types of API responses. Additionally the process of having to use API Workflows to save items to separate lines in the database can be a bit tricky. As we're not using this app on a daily basis it takes some time to refresh your memory on how to do this correctly. Also don't expect 100% accuracy in saving data to the database using this method. It sometimes misses out some of rows in the table, which can cause problems if you need a prototype that is completely flawless. Reason for choosing Bubble At the time there wasn't any other tool out there similar to bubble. However, I'm aware that a newcomer called Adalo is available. I've tried this, however I returned back to Bubble as Adalo offered no API Connector, which is crucial for us to create functioning prototypes. With bubble I was able to test different programs and solutions quickly, without having to pay thousands for a full stack developed solution Pros As a startup founder, I've been using Bubble.io for more than 2 years, from small prototypes all the way to enterprise solution that satisfied the strictest due diligence requirements. I've very rarely found technical limitations, and most of the time there's a workaround that allows you to achieve what you need. I've been able to set up APIs and connect with other systems in very short time The platform and support is growing like crazy. Cons Initially, it has a learning curve, but if you have a coding background, it's easy to get used to the bubble logic. Some procedures are a guess work. A replica of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram or any other platform can be build on bubble. Cons It's mainly for MVP or for some small to medium-scale projects. I mentioned you can make a replica of powerful platforms but not at that scale. You can replicate the functionalities but only a few thousand of users will be able to use it at once. Before bubble, I was dependent on developers or low-functionality app builders. Once I discovered and learned to use Bubble, I was capable of building, from the ground up, a complete B2B SaaS web app that is now generating revenue for my company. It's easy to get started, the community and docs are fantastic, the ability to integrate with other systems is strong, and it is overall a great app dev experience. Pros Bubble is easy to use, incredibly powerful, and unlocks capabilities for non-technical individuals that would take an experienced coder much longer to implement. The basic building blocks are rock solid and work together seamlessly on the platform (e.g. user management, databases, workflows, drag & drop design, API connections, privacy rules, etc). It's a fantastic experience and very powerful. Cons Most of these are being actively worked on, but some disadvantages are:- Managing styling and responsive design can be challenging- Debugging when using external tools/integrations can be difficult without access to system logs- When apps become more complex, managing large numbers of workflows/pages/data types can become somewhat cumbersome (note that this is when you have 30+ pages, hundreds of workflows, and 50+ data types) Review Source GLP Gian Luca P. The customer support is stellar and there's a very useful community. If you need to do something that is not within the regular feature, you'l certainly find a plugin for few dollars. Pros I'm not a developer but I managed to build a full functioning application (also wrapped for mobile) for paying customers. I could learn by doing also thanks to great forum and an active community.There is simply nothing as good as Bubble out there. Even if you find something easier to start with, you'll find out you won't be able to scale. With Bubble the sky is the limit. Cons In the last two years they had few downs that lasted way too much. In the last six month didn't happen anymore. I recently had problems with corrupted cache and, in general, you cannot be 100% sure that a page will immediately retrieve updated data.On the admin side I find they should improve the management of scheduled workflows. the interface is very basic and you can't download them.They should provider an easier way to wrap for mobile. I love how intuitive every single thing is, it took me only two months to get a firm grasp of how Bubble works, you pretty much can build and design and deploy 90% of all the types of apps operating on the internet right now with Bubble, I mean social media platforms, property management, and you can also integrate with Open AI to build amazing things too. Apart from this, creating complex workflows with visual programming and drag & drop functions saves significant time and eliminates all the barriers to developing a web application. Cons Bubble is still in its nascent stages, so integrations and API calls are glitchy and lagging. It would have been much better if Adobe suite of products could be simply imported just like Figma. CTO Retail Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Very Slow Speed / Not Great Support / Expensive" February 3, 2022 1.0 We used Bubble to create an MVP. However, the speed is very disappointing. Also it is very buggy. Some days, some of the functionality (e.g. taking payments) just stop working. Or the layout brakes without any changes from the developer's side. The biggest downside is definitely the speed. It is not possible to run production apps on bubble because of that. Another big issue is the support. Imagine paying 500USD per month not being able to get real life support. The tech support needs days to reply to simple questions. Additionally not being really helpful. E.g. their reply to the speed issue was: 4 seconds load time on most of the pages is OK. Well... maybe it was in 1995, not in 2022. Pros It's easy to start with and speed up the development of a prototype. Cons 1) It is very (!) very slow. All simple operations take very long to load. 2) It is very expensive. If you are on production mode (that has still very unacceptable speed), you pay over 500USD per month 3) The support is slow and not great. They charged wrong credit card and don't want to refund it. So be aware of financial problems you might experience.
