Cons #1 - There is no support, you will be billed $$$$ out of the blue and the moment you inquire about it there is no one to talk to. The only person who will get back to you is sales and they will just say look at the forum. I even jumped onto the Discord in hopes to talk to someone quicker, a lot of the questions go unanswered as like they just don't care. I'm quite content taking my and my clients business elsewhere. Overall, Mapbox was a valuable and highly effective tool to enhance my work as an intern and helped me develop my daily freelance tasks at university. Pros Without a doubt, what I liked most about this tool was its powerful set of APIs and SDKs, this allowed me to easily integrate interactive maps into web applications and for road design (autonomous tasks) for the university. In addition, something else that I liked a lot is its high-quality and precise geographic data, since this was essential to carry out analysis and make informed decisions about map development, more specifically about roads. Cons Perhaps the only problem that I found with this tool is its cost, in my case it did not affect me because my university provided me with the paid version, however for other users who do not have the money, certain important functions of this tool will be limited. The Community team ensures I have adequate support and resources to build them. Pros Community support from Mapbox is excellent. They care about good causes, non-profit work, and their official Community team makes a good faith effort to support them.Mapbox has what is probably the most functional and effective web basemap editor in Studio.Its documentation for app building is phenomenal, and its team makes strong efforts to keep it up to date, understandable, and usable for even non-developers. The API makes building single page applications, simple interactive dashboards and data visualizations a breeze. I wouldn't develop with any other tool. Cons Graceful degradation for smaller viewports needs more energy and development. End users demand some degree of functionality on their mobile devices - API provides options, but making maps work at even a base level can be very challenging. Compared to its competitors, MapBox stands out with its highly competitive pricing, especially when using the SDKs. As a user of the Flutter SDK, I found the implementation process to be incredibly easy, which is a big advantage for developers.What I love most about MapBox is the user-friendly interface, which is perfect for product managers or anyone who needs to monitor the platform. The dashboard is simple, intuitive, and provides a wealth of data and insights that can be used to optimize mapping projects. With MapBox, I can easily monitor key metrics and make data-driven decisions to improve my project's performance. Cons The negative point of Mapbox is that if you have to use the Static Tiles API for example, the costs are quite prohibitive compared to the competitors, so this would be the only point of attention regarding the price.The big problem with Mapbox is the support, even if you are a big customer and you have a big monthly expense the support is very precarious and slow. It literally takes weeks or months to get the first response to your ticket. They don't make it clear that Support is "not included" and that to get faster service you need to purchase an extra support plan.The cheapest support plan costs 50 usd and this only guarantees you that the first response will be within 3 days. If you want some decent level of support you already need to move to a plan that costs 10% of your monthly spending and the minimum is 500 usd.Even so, the SLA is from 1 to 3 days, that is, you could be paying 500 usd to have a response only in 3 days, that doesn't seem reasonable to me.
