### "Sketch is an Industry-Leading Digital Design Tool"

June 24, 2019

5.0

Sketch is powerful, has a great plugin ecosystem, and enables Product teams to scale and iterate quickly.

Pros

Sketch makes it easy to explore UI/UX design concepts, and collaborate with design teams due to its robust product ecosystem.

Cons

Sketch was the first tool to surpass Adobe in the ability for forward-thinking designers to easily iterate on designs for screens. That being said, it lags behind tools like Figma in its ability to unlock real-time collaborative design. The Sketch team has teased collaborative features for later in 2019, so it will be interesting to watch this space evolve.

### "One of the best UX tools on the market"

December 20, 2018

5.0

I have been using Sketch for all that is UX for years.

Pros

Sketch has been my go to UX tool for years. It's easy to use and the feature set is robust. Sketch also plugs in to InVision seamlessly.

Cons

I cannot think of any cons with Sketch .

### "Sketch Review for UX Design"

October 27, 2018

5.0

Cannot find anything similar for this price. Very much worth the value. Would recommend for any form of UX design.

Pros

Offers a very user friendly and affordable tool with which to build wireframes. Also connects rather seamlessly to Invision and their Design System Manager.

Cons

Would like to see a little more ability to create transitions and prototypes without having to connect to an InVision account.

### "Best software for small companies"

August 28, 2018

4.0

Pros

Sketch is great for its price and feature set. It has a huge value for its money.

Cons

It however does not increase value as you pay. After paying, you still dont get the great features you would in a software like Axure.

### "Easiest Prototyping and Collaboration in Design"

August 4, 2019

5.0

Pulling ideas together and building a prototype and wireframe used to be fairly in-depth processes for me, but Sketch changed all of that. I know it isn't the first utility of its kind, but I truly think it is the best. What really helps is the number of plug-ins and prebuilt themes and projects out there, which are great not only for a jumping point, but more for inspiration to me. Sketch has made it a hundred times easier and faster for me to get a project moving, and the new team features they recently added is just icing on the cake and makes this program completely invaluable to ANY serious designer.

Pros

Designing and creating couldn't be easier with Sketch - that's the biggest "pro" for the program, not to mention that it is easy to learn the basics, and in a few short hours (or days) you can be up and running advanced designs with extensions and more. Pricing is another huge pro - you rarely see tools this well designed and used for under $100 like this. The new team collaboration features are also a big plus for me when working with other parts of my team a few states away. The extensions, or plug-ins some would call them, are incredible and can make short work of complicated tasks, and there are a TON of them!

Cons

I really wish there was a Windows version of this program. I prefer designing on Windows, which is what I've always used, and I pretty much have to maintain and keep a Mac around just for this program.

### "Great app for rapid mockups/prototypes and conveying ideas"

September 18, 2019

5.0

Overall, Sketch is my favorite app to design user interfaces and websites in. If you're a Mac user and a designer, it is a must have. I hope they eventually release a Windows version as well.

Pros

I love the powerful simplicity of Sketch, the large number of useful plugins available, and the vast availability of symbol libraries to help you design prototypes quicker.

Cons

There is no Windows version available. Sketch will only run on Mac OS. The sketch.cloud upload feature still doesn't quick have all of the features of some competitors. I also wish you could export interactive prototypes to HTML to host on your own server instead of sketch.cloud.

Alternatives considered

[Adobe XD](https://www.capterra.com/p/168423/Adobe-XD/)[Adobe Illustrator](https://www.capterra.com/p/227125/Adobe-Illustrator/)

Reason for choosing Sketch

While Adobe XD looks promising and has both Windows/Mac versions, my overall experience with using Sketch has been better and it has become my go-to app for prototypes. The availability of plugins and symbol libraries makes it the obvious choice for Mac users.

### "A cheaper and better solution to some Adobe products."

September 9, 2020

5.0

Sketch changed the way we design web pages from scratch. A friend of mine turned me onto Sketch and after designing a few clients with it, I couldn't return to using a different product. Sketch is more affordable than Adobe products, it's constantly updating, and easy to learn and use. We love the multi device view and find designing from scratch in Sketch is the best way to go.

Pros

Frequent updates, affordable price, and ease of use are the biggest reasons we love this software. We tried it out on a couple of client jobs and immediately fell in love with it.

Cons

While it IS constantly updating, some things are still not very intuitive. Selecting multiple elements when not in the device views is still a huge pain, but honestly there isn't too much that we're not unhappy about. Even Adobe products have bigger gripes than Sketch does for us.

Alternatives considered

[Figma](https://www.capterra.com/p/175027/Figma/)

Reason for choosing Sketch

I knew more people that were recommending Sketch over Figma or just hadn't tried Figma. I trusted my friends reccomendations.

### "Lacking in prototyping functionalities, but a powerful tool nonetheless"

October 6, 2020

4.0

It had quite a big learning curve for me, coming from using Photoshop with InVision, Sketch was very new and had very unfamiliar shortkeys. I grew used to it, but I never truly learned to love it.

Pros

Definitely the symbol libraries in combination with the plugin "Runner". It made my life so much easier being able to use a shortkey to quickly insert components from my libraries.

Cons

The lack of prototyping functionalities was definitely one of the reasons we decided to switch over to a different tool instead. Sketch only has the option to add click interactions, while there are some addons that make it easier to transfer designs into e.g. InVision to be able to add hover interactions and such, it would be so much easier if it was all in one place.

### "Number One Wire Framing Software."

August 23, 2018

5.0

I appreciate this software very much as it allows me to create incredibly clean and efficiently designed screens for my Interaction Design courses.

Pros

I love how clean, sleek and intuitive the software is. I offers a really great functionality where you may create symbols that you may replicate, and by editing the parent symbol you then edit the rest of the child symbols wherever they may be. I also like how one can link screens and primordially prototype in Sketch.

Cons

I do not like how the software is only usable for people with Apple computers, A windows version should be accessible.

### "Best of the best for digital design"

December 5, 2018

5.0

Pros

Everything. I tried other digital design products and it felt hard to navigate around the interface while Sketch was easy. I believe in the updates and features Sketch is putting out based on user needs, not just to 'one-up' the competition when a feature makes the design process more confusing. IE: Less is more.

Cons

Sketch Mirror lags a bit from time to time.

### "Review for Sketch"

April 30, 2021

5.0

Gives exactly what the name means. A sketch is the origin point, so is this product and it goes all the way up to creating attractive mockups.

Pros

The possibilities of 'Sketch' are endless. This helped me create clean yet very attractive UI mockups for the applications I previously worked on. It is very flexible and is the go-to tool of most UI/UX engineers. When it comes to my line of work, these days most web templates provide their mockups in sketch file format which is very less in size compared to Photoshop & AI files.

Cons

There isn't nothing much of dislikes on this product as it is a great tool. But I would like if they can provide a free version with less feature other than the trial one.

### "Must innovate or will be replaced"

August 12, 2019

5.0

I start designing UIs with Sketch and it felt amazing. Recently I've found some other alternatives that allow me to work between Windows, MacOS and even on the Browser no matter the OS. I love all the plugins and shortcuts but honestly They need to renovate a lot in order to get me again as an user.

Pros

Sketch is very functional to create user interfaces. Is intuitive and have a big library full of plugins.

Cons

It doesn't have a Windows version while other platforms (cheaper than Sketch) can do the job even online.

### "Much better then Adobe Illustrator"

April 2, 2018

5.0

Easy image editing for web apps.

Pros

Much faster and more useful then Adobe Illustrator. Easily makes exportable images which are great for web apps to update changes to all your assets at once. Much better pricing then Adobe Creative Cloud.

Cons

There are some more complex features that are not supported that are in Adobe Illustrator but most of the time it works fine.

### "New great app in the industry"

April 2, 2018

5.0

Pros

The Sketch is the new Photoshop in terms of creating user interfaces for mobile and even web products. It makes creating interfaces quick and easy and helps you to follow the guidelines effortlessly

Cons

At first, it was hard to master it, but pretty soon it got in hand. So I wish there were some tutorials or it had more shortcuts in common with Photoshop

### "Solid tool for UX / UI design"

August 23, 2019

5.0

We create all our digital products for clients with sketch. It is a definite tool for our daily process.

Pros

It's easy. It's very intuitive to pick up quickly and apply to your needs. I also like that it is easy to integrate into Invision, and hand off to development.

Cons

Sometimes the plugins are a bit abundant, and can cause bugs to the software, which can slow your process down.

### "Like How the iPhone Changed the Cell Phone Space"

October 29, 2018

5.0

Thought about going for photoshop but when I noticed this program, I need I would appreciate the simplicity of Sketch much more. Relatively cheap with occasional software updates make this a great one-time purchase.

Pros

Since Sketch is amazingly easy to pick up, I like to think that Sketch is the iPhone changing the cell phone landscape except for the photo editing/modification/mockup world. As the tools are very transparent in what you expect them to achieve, and not too plentiful, even beginners can master most of the tools in Sketch in only a few sessions. Also, look on their website and see if you can apply for educational pricing - 50% off!

Cons

To be completely honest, there's not much to disregard about Sketch. My only gripe, which is nothing at all, is the programs fuss when dealing with auto-leveling/auto-centering objects on objects. Sometimes you want things off-kilter but Sketch loves to keep things right in the middle.

### "Very useful for mobile application and website design and prototyping"

July 17, 2019

5.0

In general, Sketch is a very useful tool for the designer to use for different needs at every service.

Pros

Sketch's easy-to-use interface allows even beginners to adapt very quickly. It also has all the features that meet the needs of advanced users. Extensive plug-in options allow access to the different features needed. Symbol management is very handy. By creating templates, using certain parts of the design from a single source saves time. It's very useful and easy to export assets to iOS, Android and web in the required size.

Cons

Image editing options are very limited. Different software may be needed for detailed editing of images. New versions may require a new license. Backward compatibility can be a problem.

### "Symbol system makes it easy to design"

February 6, 2018

5.0

Pros

This tool has a very simple interface and easy to get started. With the symbol system and numerous plugins on the market, this is easily the most robust and smart tool I use in my process.

Cons

There are small wrinkles that need to be smoothened out. With the work I do, I often have to insert superscript but the placement and size is never correct.

### "Simple, lightweight design tool that is quickly becoming industry standard"

November 8, 2020

4.0

Pleased with Sketch, been very powerful for our business.

Pros

After switching from an organisation that primarily used Photoshop, found Sketch to be much more flexible and easy to use. Great for both designers and non-designers alike.

Cons

Sometimes tricky to do file management and version control. We use Abstract in conjunction with Sketch to solve this problem.

### "UX Designer Choice "

May 17, 2019

4.0

It enables designers to do more. You can create animations and lots more with this wonderful graphic design tool. The great part about the app is that it enables you to create stunning mockups that your customers want to see first.

Pros

If you just started a career in product design or user experience design then what you need is the sketch tool. This is a good graphic design tool that beginners and professionals should have on their system.

Cons

You can code and at the same time work on a wireframe. You can create themes and cool designs with Sketch.

### "A great tool for quick design and iteration"

August 29, 2018

4.0

Pros

Sketch is an incredible product that is super easy to use but also has the teeth to make it a very valuable design tool. Our team frequently uses it for quick wireframes and lo-fi sketches of product ideas. It's easy to build many iterations of a design with sketch quickly and easily.

Cons

At times Sketch can be a bit lacking in terms of depth, so when creating final design proofs, it often doesn't get the job done because of a lack of tools, but this is quickly improving with many of the plug ins that are coming to the platform.

### "Sketch is an essential tool for creating web graphics"

May 5, 2020

5.0

I was a long time user of Macromedia/Adobe Fireworks which I used to create graphical elements for web sites. When Adobe stopped development of Fireworks I had to find a good alternative. Sketch allows me to work in a way that makes sense

Pros

Sketch makes it very straightforward to create graphic assets for web and app design. I particularly appreciate the ability to produce assets at multiple resolutions from a single vector source.

Cons

The lack of bitmap editing features sometimes slows me down, when an element includes a photo, any required edits to the photo need to be made outside of sketch.

### "Sketch is Great"

February 13, 2019

5.0

Sketch is a nice, more affordable alternative to Photoshop. The streamlined interface and clean UI make it a joy to use.

Pros

Sketch is great for wireframe development as well as general graphic design tasks. As a former power-user of Photoshop, I noticed that Sketch is pared down to the Adobe powerhouse, but not in a way that the user feels as though they are missing out. The layout and UI are wonderful within the app.

Cons

There are no cons to be mentioned here about Sketch. The price may be a little steep for the casual user, but it is not that bad compared to the alternatives available.
