### "The only design tool for mobile and web UI/UX design"

June 13, 2018

5.0

Pros

Sketch is the ultimate design tool for any UI/UX design you can think of. The basic features are enough to accomplish any design task out there, including symbols and design libraries, prototyping, etc. For anything else, the extensibility via plugins is endless. Photoshop is dead when it comes to UI design

Cons

The vector tools are not as powerful as Illustrator, making logo design a feasible, but difficult task in Sketch. Until they improve the vector editing feels, Illustrator still remains the undeniable king of logo design.

### "Sketch App is a necessity for any UI/UX designer "

July 23, 2019

5.0

Pros

What I like most about Sketch is how thoughtful the developers were in making sure it ticked all the boxes when it comes to designing a UI. I has guides, dark mode, symbol creation for global elements, it's awesome

Cons

What I like least about this software is how the layer editing can sometimes freeze the app and it takes a few seconds for it to catch up. This could be a limitation on my hardware, but I doubt it. Seems more like a bug. But they're good about pushing updates for glaring issues so this probably will be fixed soon.

### "The best UI design software out there"

October 9, 2018

5.0

Pros

I can't list all the good things about sketch, it is really easy to use nothing complicated or counterintuitive. Also the community who develop plugins has to be one of the greatest, if the software itself is great with plugins is even better. Also in a world where almost everything is monthly subscriptions having a software that has a yearly license is like fresh water.

Cons

There is little that I don't like about sketch, one can be that sometimes it takes big chunks of my RAM. But outside of that can't think of anything else.

### "The Easiest Prototype tool I've Used "

February 12, 2019

5.0

Essential in our design stack, can't live without it!

Pros

The best part of sketch is the easy way to create templates that allow you make mockups on iphone mac and other devices. You can import assets like iOS and browser buttons that make designing anything a breeze. I also love the fact that you can almost instantly export and preview live on any device! I use this daily and its always my go to when create mockups or in depth designs before coding it out.

Cons

The functionality is limited if you dont pay for it, but hey it's worth the money!

### "Sketch review"

April 24, 2018

4.0

Ease of use; Productivity; Simple learning curve; Cost affordability.

Pros

Easy to use, and the tool is very light compared to the similar ones in the market. I have used this for designing several high fidelity UX screens for software products (both web apps and mobile) with relative ease. The best part is Sketch integrates with various plugins which allow me to be even more productive. The developers I work with love the fact that I can give them exportable HTML files which specify accurate dimensions down to pixel precision.

Cons

The fact that it is restricted to Mac users alone has proved to be a stumbling block when I had to collaborate with other designers on projects who were non-Mac users.

### "All designers should use it for Prototyping!"

April 11, 2018

5.0

Fast prototyping. Easy of use, one of the best UI. Great for exporting assets. Give an order to your designs. Great licensing options.

Pros

It is one of the simplest platforms to design and generate visual prototypes. The new update allows you to build functional previews. It is based on seeking standardization, from generating text styles to the manipulation of elements and objects.

Cons

It's a little difficult handling the guides (you can try with third party plugins). Compared with other software the EPS rendering are not so good and make the logos different.

### "Best design tool for creating beautiful web apps"

November 29, 2018

5.0

Our design team is very small, so we let each designer pick their own toolkit, and of the few who originally picked the Adobe suite, they quickly transitioned to Sketch supporters within a mater of months. The fact that Sketch was designed from the very beginning to be a design tool for software development makes it the most feature-rich and extensible design platform we know of, and we've been tremendously happy with it thus far.

Pros

Unlike Photoshop, Sketch is actually designed and intended to be used by designers building software products. Sketch's growing user community and powerful feature set make it our hands-down favorite for company-wide design iterations.

Cons

If you're unfamiliar with vector design tools, the learning curve can be a bit steep at the beginning. However, once you get the hang of it, it quickly becomes a powerful tool that enables our designers to create rich mockups and wireframes that can be easily shared across our organization.

### "THE design tool for the web"

December 25, 2019

5.0

Sketch allowed me to become a lot faster with my web designs, changes can be made in one place and easily rippled across all screens. Like magic!

Pros

It was actually built with web design in mind (no like photos op, which was retrofitted for it!). Symbols, shared text styles and libraries make the design process quick and streamlined

Cons

The cost is a bit steep, but not has bad as Abode products. Sketch does everything pretty well. Perhaps a bit more photo editing functionality would be good to have

### "Sketch is a Great Tool for Digital Designers"

October 30, 2018

4.0

Pros

Really easy to understand and pick up if you're familiar with digital design software (Adobe for example). The basic software has everything you need as a UX or visual designer for creating wireframes and mockups.

Cons

There's a lack of features at the basic level. So many features that should be originally included are not, so you have to download tons of plug ins to make up for it. Along with that, the software requests to be updated frequently, and new updates tend to be filled with bugs and software crashes.

### "Organized & flexible modern design tool"

October 10, 2018

5.0

Pros

Sketch is a well-organized and flexible design tool. Although it has tons of features, it distinguishes itself from Adobe apps (that also have many), by keeping up the ease of use. One can easily dive into that new tool, if they've never worked with it before, because it's so straight forward; yet one can do so much with it! Also, it's neatly designed, and what I like most is that you realize Bohemian is constantly developing their product adding new features, fixing bugs, etc. Their customer support is really fast in responding, helpful and kind. Cost-value is absolutely balanced. Their license type (buy now and receive a year of free updates) is super fair, yet affordable and still gives you an incentive to refresh your license every once in a while.

Cons

There's nothing that I don't like about Sketch. It's so versatile, yet easy to use. No cons.

### "The best UI/UX designer app so far"

August 12, 2018

5.0

Since I shifted from Photoshop, I've been doing all my UI/UX work in Sketch. It's much easier to use than PS, and also gives you a lot more tools to help you finish your work faster. Like 80% faster.

Pros

Sketch App is the perfect app for anyone who's working as a web or UI/UX designer. Constantly improving app, with every new version they add a new tools, gadgets, and even a plugin market is well covered. One of my favorites is an asset exporting tool. The perfect app for it's price.

Cons

I haven't found any cons so far. Everything working perfectly so far.

### "An excellent tool that is pretty streamlined and useful for everyday work with room for improvements"

July 11, 2018

4.0

Quick and easy way to work on interface design and prototyping

Pros

It is easy and quick to use, and very versatile. On one hand, you can do very basic mockups, and on the other, you have the possibility to go really deep into the details and create very complex designs.

Cons

It lacks basic capabilities to control raster images. I know this is a vector tool, but sometimes you need to cut, crop and mock some raster backgrounds in order to work faster, and Sketch is pretty lacklustre in that field. Also, when you work on a bit more complex projects that require 20+ artboards, it can slow down or even crash. Having a possibility to define custom keybindings would also be useful.

### "The right tool for interface design."

April 4, 2018

5.0

Speed, accuracy, flexibility and great integrations (plugins) with other tools. Perfect for UI design.

Pros

Sketch is based on vectores, hence it is easy to start using if you have previous experience with Adobe Illustrator. It facilitates designing interfaces due to its multiple canvas nature. Also, exporting assets makes your life smooth and easier.

Cons

Since my experience was Adobe Illustrator first , it can take you some time to adapt and retain shortcuts. Also, vector tool for creating shapes is difficult to manipulate.

### "The best tool for prototyping UX and UI"

January 28, 2019

5.0

The price is OK for the product, billing annually for license (machine), and you can get every update they launch, which is great. If you has to deal with UX/UI for webdesign, I do recommend the Sketch app for OSX.

Pros

\- Very easy to use: tools panel, intuitive workflow - Sketch cloud: there is a way to publish your layouts and create a link on Sketch Cloud, so your client can follow your work updates! - Plugins: with one plugin, you can connect to InVision! There is another option to publish your work for a client.

Cons

I don't like much the Sketch Cloud, because there is no tool for posting comments over the layout. This is very bad on the QA process, when the client must point to changes they want.

### "Sketch for Product Design"

November 12, 2019

5.0

I have used sketch to build flow libraries, flow diagrams, symbol libraries, and prototyping. It is also nice to have the craft plugin to upload instantly to invision. It's a powerful prototyping and design system tool!

Pros

Sketch has the ability to create dynamic symbols that can be used universally. This is very powerful when creating a design system.

Cons

You are unable to collaborate with your colleagues locally on this platform. Consequently, you need to use a repo that has version control if you are working in the same files as your teammates.

### "An old beast that still has plenty of life left in it"

July 1, 2022

4.0

Sketch has been around longer than its competitors, so it has many useful features. Updates continue to come from time to time. But the catching up that, for example, Figma has done with certain features, it's still a shame that Sketch hasn't kept up.

Pros

The shared libraries, design systems, the user experience work very well. They also keep innovating with updates

Cons

It still lags behind, for example, its competitor Figma. Especially when it comes to the prototyping feature. There are really missing

### "UX production design tool"

June 30, 2020

4.0

Our UX designers create interface mockups as conceptual models to try out design concepts

Pros

Create web or app designs using templates for each platform. Powerful presentation tools to provide animated app walkthroughs and demonstrate user gestures, such as swipes and flicks. Export to different formats for distribution or collaborative editing.

Cons

Some modelling of the 'Regular' and 'Compact' iOS display dimension concept that programmers will have to interpret when coding the interface in XCode would be useful.

### "Keeps getting better and better"

July 16, 2019

4.0

Pros

While the Sketch team started at a disadvantage with what was in my opinion inferior software to Adobe's, they kept adding features that brought them on par with Adobe (like colour management and libraries) and eventually surpassed them with an easier to use, better performant piece of software.

Cons

My experience since I switched from Adobe has been largely positive, for as long as you don't rely too much on external plugins, which to tend to break with updates, it all works as it should.

### "I miss my Mac!!!"

July 6, 2018

5.0

If you have a mac, download this product!

Pros

Sketch for Mac was an amazing experience for me. I would spend hours upon hours creating different designs with ease. I used the IOS panel to create digital assets for a mobile game. If you are a Mac owner and a Digital Artist, this product is a must-have. Very easy to export code.

Cons

My cons and only complaint really is that is can only be used on Mac, since i do not own a Mac anymore. Also, many of the Plug-ins still crash a lot, hope they fixed that.

### "Sketch Review"

October 7, 2021

My overall experience with the app has been nothing short of amazing. It is simple, intuitive and beginner-friendly. I would recommend this software to anyone out there.

Pros

The numerous plugins make work easier and the constant updates make the software better each time. It is a convenient and easy tool for designing as well. It is a lot easier to use than some of its competitors.

Cons

One of the cons is that it is only available on macOS platforms.

### "A great tool for Web and Mobile Design mockups."

September 15, 2019

4.0

My overall experience with Sketch is above satisfactory. The feature set is vast but the Mac only limitation is something to keep an eye on.

Pros

Sketch is primarily made for creating Mobile and Web Design mockups, which makes it a great software to use if you're making designs for web or mobile, which was our primary requirement. Also, Sketch contains ton of templates which helps in choosing a basic layout to start.

Cons

The thing I like the least about Sketch is it's a Mac specific app. Our design team has to strictly switch to mac in order to use Sketch. Also, Sketch has a different set of hotkeys which is quite an effort to learn.

Alternatives considered

Reason for choosing Sketch

The yearly plan over Adobe's monthly plan was a big factor in choosing Sketch for our team. Also, Cloud sharing was the feature that helped us to choose this product.

### "The Industry Standard"

January 28, 2019

5.0

Pros

I can't describe how much I love Sketch. I remember the first time I discovered this app is when I just graduated from uni, I dedicated my time learning the app while sending out resumes & work applications. A few weeks later I got my first job and I'm the person who introduce Sketch to my team members. I'm glad the universe bring us together.

Cons

The preview on desktop is weird, I can't see full screen or at least the correct dimension for previewing and scrolling ability.

### "Industry Standard"

October 18, 2018

4.0

Pros

I come from an era, where UI designers used Photoshop, a tool for digital photography, to design interfaces. There was simply nothing better at that time. Then, Sketch was released and it changed everything. It was a vector-based tool focused on UI design. It was something designers really needed! Sketch came a long way and became an industry standard. After a few years it's still a solid software that you can rely on with features you need. Sketch developers listen to the community and release updates often. The pricing is also reasonable. If you're a UX or UI designer, this is the tool you want to use.

Cons

Sketch now has a lot of competitors and needs to catch up in some areas: – Prototyping capabilities are very basic‚ it's simply not capable to replace inVision many designers rely on – There are no good layout tools (like Stacks in Framer X)

### "Great design tool"

May 17, 2019

4.0

Great design tool all around.

Pros

The more I use it, the more I realize i can use it for EVERYTHING. Where before I might have switched back and forth between Illustrator and InDesign or some other combination, I now just open up Sketch and am able to get what I need done, done. I like the simplicity.

Cons

I like that there are lots of lug ins available, but the plug ins are also a little overwhelming You never know if you are installing a working plug in, or what many of them do. I wish there were more oversight from Sketch on these extra applications.
