### "Used to be the go to but better solutions now"

March 31, 2021

5.0

We are using Sketch to design UI and fulfill our company’s UX design needs.

Pros

I used to love using this for creating UI and visual designs for digital applications. In the early days it was much better than applications like illustrator or photoshop.

Cons

Currently our team has found Sketch to be somewhat slow and cumbersome with larger files. We also wish it had a collaborative feature which is found in newer UI design tools.

### "Sketch is a Great Software for mobile design"

September 29, 2020

5.0

Sketch has helped me a lot to create great iOS and Android layout designs. It´s really simple, but in the same time, it´s really powerful

Pros

Sketch is really powerful to create great mobile design layouts. The feature that I like the most is the option to automatically prototype the layout on the physical device with the Sketch Mirror App

Cons

Sketch is a little difficult to use when you are starting. But with a few days, if you have design skills, you can learn all the software capabilites.

### "I use Sketch daily and can't imagine life without it."

May 4, 2018

5.0

Pros

As a designer, I can't live without Sketch. As a self-taught designer, I can't believe how easy Sketch was to use and learn. It is the most intuitive design software I have ever used. It functions as you would hope and expect it would. I can build mockups and prototypes quickly, efficiently, and easily share with the rest of my team.

Cons

The only complaint I have with Sketch is the limitations regarding animations and gestures. There is no quick and easy way to display transitions between screens or intended user interactions on mobile devices.

### "Sketch - the go-to tool for UI design"

April 8, 2019

5.0

Great performance and thoughtful, practical features have made Sketch the most essential tool in a UI/UX professionals arsenal.

Pros

I love Sketch and it's my go-to tool for UI design. Coming from photoshop, the workflow and performance is way better. Plugin support is great, especially for syncing with prototyping tools like Zeplin and InVision. Symbols is a great time saver and a useful tool in today's design methodologies.

Cons

The very rare crashing of the app is a concern. Prototyping with animation features need to be developed, so that Sketch would be all-in-one solution.

### "Simply Amazing"

May 7, 2018

5.0

Pros

Ease of use and UI is second to none in the design industry. Compared to products like Photoshop, it is much easier for anyone to pick up (with ~70% of the actual features people use in photoshop, to boot). Getting software updates on product is great as well.

Cons

Has the tendency to crash multiple times when dealing with large files. This has led to some frustrating hours of repeating work.

### "Reliable partner for all your digital design needs. Great piece of native software for a fair price."

April 4, 2018

4.0

Pros

I like that Sketch became some kind of a reliable design workhorse that can handle any task you need to do without compromising ease of use. They recently added native prototyping features so you can wire up the screens to simulate final product. Integration with Sketch Cloud makes this a poweful tool for collaboration with clients. Furthermore, anything that Skech currently can't handle you can find plenty of mostly free plugins to help you. I definitely like the direction where Sketch is going and for the price you really can't go wrong.

Cons

To be honest, not really much to say here. One can always complain about lack of some specific features, but I don't think that's objectively relevant. From time to time, some minor bugs appear, which is common for every software, but they usually get fixed pretty fast. From the last update that included Prototyping and Sketch Cloud features the sidebar got a little crowded.

### "One stop design solution for Product Designer or any Product person"

August 31, 2018

4.0

Overall experience is great. Makes the product journey faster for any scale of the company. Presenting design for class to stackholders fits in all of aspect.

Pros

01\. The learning curve is incredibly low. 02. Vector based, all are convertible to different screen size. 03. The work process is quicker compared to other apps. Reduced the stress of the tedious job. Best for quick iteration. 04. Symbol makes life easy for repetitive layout. 05. Tons of plugin option and easier to build own script. 06. File size is incredibly lowered then other apps. 07. Exporting any image for developers is much easier.

Cons

01\. Only available on mac, no windows version. 02. The prototype feature is a waste. 03. I miss some basic image editing feature. Like masking and erasing smoothly out some part of the image.

### "Great design tool, total productivity booster "

February 26, 2018

5.0

Best design tool out there, especially if you're designing for both the web and mobile in the same pipeline.

Pros

The best tool I've found for the design to development process. From web only, web and mobile, or mobile first development it is the go-to tool to put together a solution both in a hurry and with quality in the long term.

Cons

Using the application can be a bit quirky, there is definitely a learning curve here to deal with. Stability (a lack of it really) and bugs have also been an issue for us. That said, we do see them resolved relatively quickly.

### "Best prototyping tool for UI and UX designers"

January 31, 2019

5.0

Pros

\- All the features are packed perfectly in the application - Proptyping preview is the best thing and the user can see the flow in the Sketch itself - The plugins makes the sketch really usable and integrate with other apps - Pricing is great and the yearly one time payment is best thing

Cons

\- Sketch mirror is not that much useful - Sketch's new latest design seems bit complex

### "I use this software for wire framing to design"

July 16, 2018

5.0

Pros

This software marries features that I love from adobe illustrator and adobe photoshop into one application. It is vector based so it is great in producing high quality designs. The application also pairs with Marvel and other prototyping tools so you can create an interactive prototype before going into dev. The dev process is made simple with the ability to use symbols and a style sheet with makes sure everything throughout the site appears the same way. I would highly recommend this product for anyone in the UI/UX biz. Totally worth it.

Cons

The only thing is that it does take a little bit of an immersion to figure out all the capabilities. There are a bunch of online resources though to make the process easier.

### "Robust Desgin Tool for Pixel-Perfect Mockups"

June 7, 2021

4.0

Sketch is our go-to tool for bringing to life polished digital user experiences. It has allowed us to design quickly and create exactly what we envision.

Pros

Sketch is the most robust design tool for creating polished screen-based user interfaces. They've kept up over the years by adding features like prototyping and basic animations.

Cons

I’m happy to see that they’ve added prototyping, but the functionality really is not as robust as an alternative like Figma. Also, sharing designs in Sketch is inconvenient if your organization is not using something like OneDrive to automatically sync all the files.

### "Still THE BEST SW for user interfaces and design systems"

March 18, 2019

4.0

Sketch is my go to software for anything 'screen design'. I've been designing for mobile, web and TV using SketchApp. The competition coming from the big names is getting fierce but integrations with InVision (already a competitor) and Zeplin, still make Sketch take the win.

Pros

The amount of customisation possible via an infinite number of widely recognised plugins is a must. That, and the possibility of creating shared libraries are the main features that make a team truly capable of creating and maintaining a serious design system. And let's not forget the price: the bang for buck out there.

Cons

One of its finest features is sometimes one of its worse. As update versions of the software, you try and add-on new plugins, this can become a bit buggy. In the end, I think it just comes with the nature of the software.

### "Necessary tool for design"

December 16, 2018

5.0

Pros

Very easy to use and get started - if you don't know how to use Sketch, you'll probably find it very intuitive. I had never used Sketch, but was able to get a lot done just with just a few features. However, this is also a super powerful tool and most designers will rely on it nowadays. There are also some very powerful plugins that allow you to integrate it with other apps and keep your designs and team organized. If you are doing any kind of design - especially user interface design - Sketch should be a core part of your toolkit.

Cons

It's not immediately obvious which plugins are available, without doing some digging. It would be helpful if there was an official marketplace for Sketch plugins and applications.

### "Once the best, but less competitive"

May 31, 2021

5.0

Loved this product from the moment I started using it, but as a complete solution it's fallen short.

Pros

Sketch is one of the best-designed apps I've ever used (going back 30 years) and it's still a joy. Built from the ground up for UI work, not repurposed like Photoshop or Illustrator. Everything just works, and the plug-in community has a solution for everything.

Cons

Sketch hasn't remained competitive with other products - not so much as a UI toll which it excels at, but prototyping which they never really figured out and relied on other products like Invision to complete

Alternatives considered

[Adobe XD](https://www.capterra.com/p/168423/Adobe-XD/)

Reason for choosing Sketch

At the time XD wasn't ready, got better later but too late for me.

Switched from

[Adobe Photoshop](https://www.capterra.com/p/229092/Adobe-Photoshop/)

Photoshop as a UI tool is a hack, was never designed for it and did it poorly.

### "Used as main app development design tool for 4+ years!"

November 2, 2018

5.0

Pros

Sketch has been my main software to design all my iOS apps I've developed for the past 4 years. Before Sketch, I've used Photoshop for all the previous app designs, but as screen resolution on devices started to vary, it became necessary to create different resolution images, and Sketch was the easiest to work with at the time. Also, it is way cheaper than competitive softwares such as Illustrator, so if you're only working to create UI designs, Sketch is pretty much all you need.

Cons

It could get a bit buggy at times, and it isn't as precise in pixel level when compared to software like Illustrator. Not a big deal for software design, but it isn't the best software to chose when dealing with printed matter.

### "Almost perfect"

April 15, 2019

4.0

My team uses sketch to create design mockups and ultimately style libraries for clients for both mobile and desktop web application design. Sketch is the best tool we've found for that job, and third party integrations make the client review process easy.

Pros

Sketch is a strong option for designing user interfaces at all stages of the process, from wire-framing all the way to pixel-perfect final designs. In particular, Sketch's symbol and library tools function powerfully and intuitively to streamline the design process across large numbers of pages and artboards. Third party plugin and application integrations create additional value, especially when moving to client reviews of designs.

Cons

In contrast to some other vector-based design software, Sketch comes up short in a few areas, most notably in shape-building tools. In contrast to Adobe Illustrator's powerful shape creation tool, Sketch uses a system that functions perhaps as effectively, but less intuitively and quickly. As such, I find that when building icons, I choose to do so in Illustrator rather than Sketch.

### "sketch is a collaborative design tool that you definitely have to try"

July 8, 2022

4.0

The truth is that I am a fan of experiencing different work environments and knowing software that allows me new and comfortable experiences. Sketch came to me because of the need to have a comfortable tool in which to be able to develop designs collaboratively and the truth is that I am impressed.

Pros

It is a friendly, professional but also intuitive software, it has a large number of templates that are super good and allow you the possibility of infinite modifications, I like that image editing is also quite complete, ideal for putting together sketches for presentations or models for web page quickly, it is good that collaborative work can be done and that it gives you the possibility of being able to work in a community in a comfortable and super fast way.

Cons

All programs always have to improve, that always depends on the experience of each user, mine in general has been good in what I have tried, I have no complaints about it.

### "Competitors have easily overthrown it"

July 29, 2022

3.0

Pros

It was easy to use up until you needed to create and use design systems.

Cons

Creating design systems and components in Sketch was a TASK, sometimes it got to 2 designers trying to solve a problem that didn't even make sense for 30 minutes to 1 hour.

### "Interface very friendly for graphic designers"

May 5, 2018

3.0

The software allows me to do my graphic designer work, very dynamic and friendly way.

Pros

The advantages is that it is one of the best programs for web design, the interface is very friendly and it's very intuitive to learn and use. The license is the cheapest of the design programs when I made a comparison. This software is an excellent tool for designing templates of web portals, for me it's actually the best for web design, it is quite complete, it is easily managed with CCS and it has fast compatibility with frontpage

Cons

The software has not a very good image editor, so you have to use another program to improve the image edition in order to complement it. It also is only available for Mac and it's a under license program, there is no free version of it

### "My design tool of choice"

October 9, 2018

5.0

Pros

The versatility and ease of use of this product has made me (almost) abandon Photoshop entirely. I used to design in Photoshop, but since being introduced to Sketch, I rarely touch Photoshop.

Cons

There are still some features that Sketch can't do, so having to switch back and forth between programs to achieve the look/feel I'd like can be a bit cumbersome.

### "Great Easy Design Tool"

June 20, 2019

5.0

I use sketch for all my design work. It's a great tool for wireframing and creating visual designs. It was an easy tool to learn, and many more designers are starting to use Sketch over Adobe.

Pros

Easily design with using simple tools. Good performance. Easy learning curve.

Cons

Can get slow if the file is big (about 500MB). Handing a Sketch file to another user may edit the contents of the file slightly.

### "Sketch is a great tool for designers and developers"

March 6, 2021

4.0

Overall, my experience with Sketch is very great and I recommend this tool.

Pros

As a software developer, I use Sketch everyday to work with the designs prepared by our design team. I really like this tool because it is easy to use and very stable.

Cons

For an independent worker, Sketch can cost a lot but for a company, the prices are affordable. I would recommend this tool.
