Besides, both preparer and reviewer can pick up issues while performing reconciliation and get them resolve in a timely manner so that the item will not be picked up as reconciling item in the following period. Pros The RecWise software application is a great tool for account reconciliation. Besides, this helps my team to identify any issue on the aged items while performing reconciliation. Also, the reviewer has high visibility on the reconciliation done by preparer and able to input comments accordingly. Preparer can then action on the commentaries provided. Best of all is that everything is recorded in the application which ease audit review/testing with auditors as auditor access can be granted to auditors for them to perform their review or testing. Cons At the moment, I did encounter some application slowness when uploading larger size attachment - greater than 40 MB as it took a long time for upload to complete. (approx. 30mins). Large files when working from home can also take some time due to connectivity and your ISP. If you are in the office then I don't think the slowness encountered would be seen. Cons I find the excel "face" of the actual reconciliation still clunky and not easy to use. I.e. adding new rows and retaining formatting. Inserting rows and columns shouldn't be too difficult though. On the 'face' there are the 'copy' button and underneath that the 'paste formatting' that should help with the formatting comment above. The manual process to change users for particular recs. The ability that only one user can prepare a reconciliation (not have more than 1 user). The attachments can roll forward however as required. If you are an Admin to reallocate Recs you can use the Admin > Bulk Update Rec(s) area to update users easier and quicker also. Preparing the Rec is tied to the segregation of duties requirement in the application, so for auditing it is clear who is performing the reconciliation. But as above happy to discuss. It is easy to use and train new users. Easy to manage and the dashboard helps to review the overall status of monthly reconciliations. Pros Ease of use. Easy to upload monthly trial balances and make bulk changes. Cons I do not like the filter function. The older version had better capabilities & features, filters remained selected when making changes, there were more drop down options. We would recommend testing this when you are in the office and if there is still an issue to raise it. Any file being saved in any application will take time to write to that database. Also any security layer software that checks the file from 3rd parties may impact the speed of the uploads. This is based on company policy and outside our control. Limitation will be slow performance, reporting, and results presentations that will help in analysis of accounts being reconciled. Pros Availability of historical supports and traceability of previous periods' results. Available option for reviewers to attach additional supports, provide commentaries. and redirect needed. Strong control in approvals and segregation of duties where authorizations are in place. Cons No bulk upload available especially with the accounts of same nature. Completion of reviewer is limited to commentaries and submission. Flags to raise at risk and flag red accounts are not available. Downloaded reports merge cells which is not helpful in a large volume of data. Nonautomated upload of templates where based on the preparers' feedback is additional time spent in revising files. Download of reports and supports takes a lot of time. Only works in Chrome. It would be great to understand the other issues as these can be addressed. Templates can certainly be uploaded. Recwise transformed our spreadsheet based processes into an efficient, paperless solution with improved auditability. Implementation of the software went smoothly. Customer support is also great, they are always responsive to requests on the rare occasion that we need to contact them. Pros The ability to upload a trial balance and not worry about data integrity issues is a huge benefit. It is easy to use from both user and administrator perspective. The ability to attach documents to individual recs. It records who has prepared the rec and who has reviewed it. Cost effective. Cons I struggle to find any disadvantages to this software. It does what we need it to do and does so reliably. It will simply identify the action item needed and having comfortability that the Financial Statement are free from material misstatement. Pros The feature that I like most was the support can be seen in future round of recon especially those accounts perform every half year or quarterly. And also, if there is no material movement during the period it will automatically complete and it's a big help with the preparer and reviewer. I hope Templates can be automatically refreshed (data from BOBJ) once we opened them before starting preparing recons. Pros Roll-up of Recon Accounts is easier than doing specific recons each. Templates are really convenient. Easy to navigate. Dashboard is ready and shows important information and updates. Cons In comparison with my previous company is using, this is way better. After we got RecWise, we managed to eliminate the paper based recs, which means that we save time (from picking up printouts and arranging them) and resources (paper and printers). I realize that there are other options in the market but RecWise is one of the better priced software. Pros \-Easy to attach supporting documents. -Excel based interface means all user are familiar with it. -Loading of new balance sheet amounts are quick and easy. -Eliminate wasteful paper based reconciliation approach Cons \-Small bugs-e.g: subtotal does not register, when attachment size is too large the system just froze. Pros I like about recwise is it combines all related accounts into one recwise ID which saves a lot of time and effort as compared to reconciling each and individual accounts. I also like that the attachment can be easily found and refer to. Another thing is the standard template the accounts being reconciled which promotes uniformity and usability. Cons I think the software should also come with account guidelines on how to categorize accounts as reconciling items or list items. Finance Manager Financial Services Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Easy to use & superb support team" February 25, 2019 4.0 We implement Recwise with the aim to automate the reconciliation process as much as we could (instead of using excel & manually key in the account balance per the ledger). The system creates a more efficient reconciliation process; all supporting documents can be uploaded and stored with the recs, which can then be downloaded as an audit pack later. Pros It looks like an excel spreadsheet and comes with some simple & commonly used 'excel' formulas such as Sum, Average, etc. You can customise recs template based on your requirement, instead of a standard template that was fixed. The uploading and reloading of account balances into the software is very easy & fast. Both reviewer & preparer of the affected recs will then receive an email notification on the change in balances. Last but not least, the support team is always very helpful and responded within a short period of time. Cons Although it looks like an excel spreadsheet, the keyboard shortcut key doesn't work (Ctrl C, Ctrl V for copy & paste). Review Source AC ARCHANA C. Pros \- Easier to monitor what have/have not been completed and reviewed - Options to group multiple accounts in one rec Cons \- the "excel" template was very difficult to use. We have slashed the time it took to complete reconciliations using templates and spreadsheets to track them and we can now find anything easily. It also allows our auditors to log in and get the information they need when they need it which reduces the time they need to spend with our staff. It gives us everything we need in relation to our monthly reconciliations with all attachments stored within the application for ease of review. Pros Its very easy to use and navigate. You van view previous reconciliations and its supporting documents that was attached by the preparer. Cons previously its not very easy to use. The app is lagging, not responding sometimes and attachment of file will took you some minutes.
