A decent tool for marketing automation with a few key issues

Pros: The customer service team is excellent and there is a handy chat function so you don't have to wait on an email response. For social media, you can schedule posts months in advance and view your marketing activities as a monthly calendar. Landing pages are also easy and quick to set up. This is a great tool for smaller organizations with limited contacts or leads to store who need basic marketing support.

Cons: The company continues to make unnecessary updates with little notice that often seems to decrease the functionality of the tool until the changes are reversed. Email is very difficult to use as the template you set up views very differently across multiple popular email platforms (to be fair, this is likely an issue with any email automation software). You also have to change your template in a different view pane from your actual email so you're constantly switch back and forth between views for very minor changes. The simplest spacing adjustment takes forever. However, the contact database portion of Hubspot is where we have the most trouble as it's hard to sort and group leads with any way other than by making smart lists or using personas. Your database will get messy fast and there's very little way to clean it if you are a large company which means over time you will be paying for useless leads in your system you cannot find and eliminate.

Overall: Hubspot is a good tool to start learning about marketing automation or if you are a small company with few leads to store. It is a visually appealing platform with some interesting functionality. The social media advanced scheduling option is one of the best features as is the ability to make easy landing pages. For basic marketing needs, this is a decent option. For larger companies with more complex needs, Hubspot has many issues that will impact speed and productivity.

Pros: Amazing, if not the best user-experience in marketing automation. Workflows are particularly powerful with plenty of controls to map your buyer journeys. You can execute very powerful campaigns with tons of triggers, actions, and filtering options.

I really liked their training, including the HubSpot academy training which are built very professionally. The way they present their e-Learning platform makes the information easy to digest and ultimately understand the inbound marketing methodology. That is in itself worth the cost of admission, even though this is provided free of charge.

Cons: HubSpot Marketing is an excellent solution, undoubtedly, but you will get about 80% of the features if you host your website externally. Initially, they will assess if your site can be migrated to their platform.

I imagine plenty of people would rather not do that. If you want a solution that you have to marry, then HubSpot will be okay for you.

They say you can utilize the majority of HubSpot features without hosting, and that is true, but some of their more advanced features such as A/B testing content on web pages or Smart Content will not be utilized. You can still utilize workflows, drip campaigns, and so forth...but these features are only available in the per month plan. Additionally, if you run multiple websites, you must have their per month plan, which is well out of our budget.

On top of that, there are certain modules (i.e. paid campaign tracking, additional contacts) that they will charge additional for. For every 1000 contacts past 1000 you get with the package, they will charge an additional monthly fee. There is also a fairly high onboarding cost. You are also required to commit to one year of their services.

All in all we could not afford to do business with HubSpot because A) we didn't want to move our websites under their platform and B) their price point was not accommodating to our budget. As far as features and functionality...it's all you really need for marketing automation. Their CRM is lackluster though if you want true alignment!

Pros: Customized dashboard for a quick snapshot to help track our department's KPIs
Support is responsive and always prompt to help answer your inquiries. They are currently in beta for live chat and I love that instant answers to your problems. They also send email follow-ups to make sure you're happy.
Knowledge-base is excellent to help solve problems you come across on the platform or in marketing in general.
HubSpot Academy is an excellent resource to learn about important topics in Marketing, Sales, and Design. They're always updating materials for the courses and you get certified at the end of so many lessons, which is a bonus for any LinkedIn profile or resume.
Robust amount of features and tactics to use within the platform but not necessary to use them all. Great for any-sized companies.
Ability to request product features from the community
User-friendly Workflows tool that allows you to create a workflow process using different elements of data.

Cons: Changes are always rolling out, which can be hard to keep up-to-date on them all
Not fully prepared for features getting removed, renamed or consolidated. We have to play catch-up at times to adjust to what has changed.
Design Manager is confusing for someone without coding knowledge. Really wish they would integrate a drop and drag feature to create simple emails and landing pages, most importantly.
Reporting from the Sales vs. Marketing dashboard can be confusing. I get two different metrics in certain cases, but it's because one's default is different than the other.
Can't create lists of accounts/companies, for company's running an ABM program.
Can't add external landing pages to Campaigns in HubSpot, only HubSpot created landing pages, which makes reporting cumbersome.

Overall: Tracking all data from content to marketing automation within a single platform is extremely helpful for us. We've been able to align more in our inbound and outbound efforts and have the ability to create simple or sophisticated marketing plans with HubSpot.

Pros: Hubspot Marketing is a big product. It can do a lot. There are so many tools and features. Sometimes too many to use. We didn't know anything about using Hubspot Marketing before we started. Hubspot taught us all we know. Their training courses are easy to watch and easy to understand, but there is a learning curve.

As with anything in marketing, results do not happen overnight. We started using Hubspot Marketing in February of 2014. It took us 8-12 months to really start seeing major results. During this time, we had a personal customer success manager who was helping us along the way. Flash forward over 4 years later and we are still using Hubspot Marketing.

We primarily use it to host our blog content, CTAs, and landing pages.

Cons: We would not be where we are without Hubspot Marketing. With that said, we feel like we are not fully using Hubspot to its potential. Unfortunately, because all of our marketing content is tied into Hubspot, we continue to pay for the software. It is hard to move your content to another provider (or just export your content to your own server), so sometimes we feel locked in.

Another con is that you will be automatically charged for contacts if you go over your limit. Once this happens, you are automatically moved into a higher level plan until you get in touch with Hubspot and tell them you would like to move back down to a lower plan. To do this, you have to sign another contract with them at the lower plan. We are always checking our statements to make sure we have not been automatically moved into a higher plan automatically.

Liked it at first, then proved to be too expensive to justify.

Pros: HubSpot makes it very easy to setup a blog and email based online business. Their ability to segment, tag and reach out to our list is powerful. Plus, their Calls to Action feature is very nice. The platform was very reliable and I don't recall having downtimes with it.

Cons: 1. Customization: They provide a template marketplace, but designs are limited and difficult to change unless your know their special markup and CSS. Most businesses will eventually require an expensive HubSpot-specific developer to tweak their website's appearance. We grew tired of needing more customization as the years went by and started looking at DIY page builder options in the market as an alternative.

2. High cost: Hubspot is *expensive*. It became even more expensive when we needed a specific feature which required us to jump into the per month Enterprise tier package (at the time). This tier included the feature we needed plus many others we honestly didn't need (but no ala carte options were available).

In the end, after reviewing the high monthly costs and features, we realized we could replace HubSpot with WordPress (blog) + ActiveCampaign (email, tags, segmenting) + LeadPages (landing pages) + ConvertPlus (lightbox popups, hello bars).

Two months later, the migration was complete and we canceled HubSpot. Our monthly costs dropped. With the money saved, we expanded our staff and advertising budgets.

Regarding canceling, keep in mind they require 45 days written notice, not the usual 30 days. They use debt collectors (McCarthy, Burgess & Wolff, Inc) on unpaid balances.

Pros: Obviously, as it's stated in its name, but the Automation part of the platform. The workflows, lists, how a published blog with automatically distribute your blog via your social media accounts, the analytics of how well your strategy, content, and workflows are working, etc. are all exceptional qualities to the HubSpot MAP.

The abundance of features and abilities available to a user is endless and always being updated, upgraded or enhanced.

I love how the HubSpot MAP is 100% synced with the HubSpot CRM and CMS. In fact, since they are open to third-party integrations, you can enhance any or all of the features given to you all throughout the HubSpot system.

Cons: From experience in teaching the software to our clients, it can be an overwhelming learning curve. Especially for the CEOs and people in non-related marketing departments that have to learn to use the system as well, since it is meant to effect a company as a whole, obviously in a positive way.

As stated above, HubSpot MAP is open to third-party integrations to better your user experience and insights into your marketing performance. The only downside to that is the budget. If you're a startup company, purchasing the HubSpot MAP and platform is expensive by itself. And when you add on purchasing other third-party integrations to get all the features you want, can be extremely costly or just over-budget in general.

The other feature I would like to see HubSpot improve is their Social Media Platform, included in the HubSpot MAP. Yes, you can schedule tweets in bulk or a month's worth of social media posts for the next month, but in reality, it is very time-consuming. Especially for a feature that is meant to cut the manual labor out of your day.

One reason for this is because you have to create a customized shortened tracking URL, located in a different area of the platform, to place into each social media message. That means a separate URL for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn & Google+, all for the same message. Now imagine having to do that for social media posts for the next week. It does get exhausting. That is one area you would want to get a third-party integration.

Overall: Knowledge and Insight. Knowlege is power and having insight into all activities your marketing, sales and business development team implement is extremely powerful in knowing where to tweak things and where you excel.

Shooting blindly from the hip on massive marketing campaigns is extremely expensive and rarely effective for increasing your ROI.

But with the knowledge and insight, the HubSpot MAP provides you, you always know what you're doing, why you're doing it, the ROI of your campaigns and where you are lacking.

Not having to rely on the complexity of Google Analytics or manual entry of Excel is a huge time and money saver. You also don't have to have a million different tools, software and extensions to try to piece together your marketing strategy, analytics and results. This eliminates about 90% of all the tools you are paying for and using and brings it all into one single platform. Not to mention that it's merely impossible to get all the third-party tools and integrations to talk to each other to give you one bottom line result.

With the HubSpot MAP's benefit of cutting hours and labor basically pays for the cost of the software itself.

Knowledge is power and time is money.

Nice experience with HubSpot Marketing software. It provide me right information about web presence.

Pros: It is very use full in tracking web and analyze business metrics to ensure marketing campaigns are progressing into the right direction. Our favorite part of Hubspot Marketing is the data that is made available on lead source, web traffic, and blog and email marketing performance. Prior to Hubspot we were not running any website analytics. By tying marketing efforts to website performance we are able to see what is working and what isn't and make better decisions going forward.
Good general functionality for tracking activity and reporting, and nice to have automatic download of company contact information when entering new contacts. Campaigns are fairly easy to set up.

Cons: I have only found 2 things - if you send an email and use the Smart Send feature to accommodate for different time zones, then it disables the ability to "Send to More". Second: at first, there are what feels like a lot of pieces to fit together - a form, campaign, landing page, emails, etc. Until you get that mapped out, it felt a little overwhelming.
Layout is a little out dated.
You can't change the default on the list of company names from recently added to alphabetical.
You can change the sort, but the next time you sign in or refresh, it goes back to sorting by recently added.

Overall: HubSpot's marketing platform is very robust and contains everything an inbound marketer needs. Every time I speak with their support team, they are friendly and quickly resolve my issue. Since HubSpot is a pay-per-contact platform, the cost can easily increase if your organization is rapidly growing or doesn't keep a clean list of contacts. If your company currently uses a WordPress blog, integrating it with HubSpot is easy, but may result in having to create 301 redirects if the templates don't match up exactly. I recommend, if possible, converting the entire website (including the blog) to HubSpot.
Aside from the ease of use, the product is continually evolving to meet the needs of current marketing trends. HubSpot requests user feedback on a variety of aspects - from design to feature functionality - to make their product the best. It also integrates well with a variety of other platforms, including WordPress and Salesforce.

Pros: Hubspot is easy to understand and implement as the user interface is pretty straight forward. The tutorial, when first launching the software, guides you through the basics and gives quickly an understanding of the structure and functionality. The level of customization is enough to make it suit most businesses needs. Most importantly though, not everything has to be done by the user. Hubspot offers a variety of features to automate processes and avoid the time consuming manual input of all the data while using the software. By inserting the email address of a contact, Hubspot will fetch information from the web to create a profile for the contact's company. Contacts' status will update automatically every time a sale involving that contact is materialized. You can also link your email to Hubspot allowing to keep a record of your correspondence, organized by contact or specific related deal. The software integrates a contact, a customer and a project database along with a To-Do list, notes and calendar which is really great, since you have all the tools you need in one place. Additionally you can attach files in each of your deals, which comes handy in some cases. Along with a variety of marketing tools, you will love being on Hubspot's mailing list. Instead of annoying newsletters, Hubspot will email you marketing tricks usually enriched with free goodies, like templates, guides and more.

Cons: I have to think a lot in order to find a negative aspect of Hubspot. A feature I would like to be enhanced is the ability to issue sales forecasts. You can do it, but it lacks some useful options like stage invoicing and invoicing/payment schedules.

Pros: Adaptability and customization options.

Cons: Social media options (although they continue to improve this functionality!)

Overall: I found HubSpot in 2013 while searching for a replacement for our email tool. I wasn't familiar with inbound marketing or HubSpot at the time, but as I learned more I went from intrigued to infatuated! We purchased the Enterprise subscription in 2014, and we use virtually every aspect of the tool now, including email, landing pages/forms/CTAS, SEO/page graders, social media monitoring/publishing, blog, workflows, calendar and our subsidiary company's website is now hosted on the HubSpot COS! We love that the system is so easy to use, intuitive, flexible, and forward-thinking. Many of the tools have best practices built in so you really learn more about inbound marketing as you continue to learn the tool. There are so many ways to measure your performance and continually improve, plus the awesome training and certification opportunities. We've attended three Inbound conferences and learned SO much each year. Our rep checks in with us every few months (and more often if we need him) and never hesitates to reach out to others on his team to answer our questions. Our Help tickets are always answered promptly. Recently we decided to start using the CRM tool; with our rep's help we've been able to adapt the system to serve our very specific and unique needs, and our sales team and executives have been blown away. Our Director of Finance has even told others how great our HubSpot reps have been and he continues to encourage our sales folks to suggest updates and changes because he's confident that HubSpot will get it done for us. Even today I have seen a new application for the HubSpot CRM with a project for our subsidiary company. We have 530 employees, a marketing team of 6 and a sales team of about 35...HubSpot not only meets all of our needs but continues to exceed our expectations.

Recommendations to other buyers: It may not be suited for a huge enterprise, but it's been the absolute best solution for our mid-sized company. We LOVE it.

Comments: Overall Hubspot is really powerful. You get everything in one place. From blogging to landing pages, social media, email and more. It links all of your analytics, contacts, and stages from lead to customer. The interface is easy to use, and straightforward. The best part is that it saves me and my small team a lot of time so when we need to create something, such as an LP, or form, we can get it done in minutes.

Pros: The best part is the support. Either by email, phone, callback, they've made it easy to get in touch and get the issue sorted if there is one if you aren't able to figure out on your own quickly (there's excellent documentation as well) The support is super helpful and useful. I really like that when I'm trying new addons, they don't push, but understand my needs first. They work with me to help me figure out the best solution that meets my company's needs. My client success manager also checks in regularly and helps train me any on tools if I need and makes recommendations. Other than the support, Hubspot's interface is easy to use and learn. It just makes sense. The menus are organised well, you need relatively little training to get up and running. The templates included cut down on a lot of the time it takes me to get things done. Then landing page builder is easy and simple to use. I can create an LP, thank you page with all the forms, followups, and CTA's in 20-30 minutes. Another good part is that I can customise the content on a page according to a persona or specific type of client or almost any property on the same page. I can change a form, or CTA and that saves me time while making the website more useful/relevant to a prospect. Another good part is that it's all in one. Social media, email, integration with Salesforce, website posting, blog. It's all in one place so it makes easy to prospects across multiple channels.

Cons: The app for mobile isn't as powerful as I'd like. It'd be nice if when sending an email from the mobile app, it would bcc the person's email. The sales CRM isn't as powerful or customisable as it could be. Some of our sales team are starting to use it and it'd be nice if there were ways to change control the mappings of contacts owners between HB and SF so we could reduce the number of users in SF.

Comments: HubSpot was designed to be a fully integrated robust marketing automation platform and when the company introduced its Content Optimization System (COS) in 2014, it was a game changer. HubSpot was designed from the ground up to be an inbound marketing platform. The HubSpot COS enables you to do many things including, but not limited to, the creation and management of Demand Generation Campaigns, Content Marketing, and Marketing Automation, that can be targeted and customized for different buyer personas and different stages of the sales process. The HubSpot COS provides a website that is automatically responsive to all screen sizes. It has a drag-and-drop template builder and WYSIWYG for those who desire simplicity. It also accommodates virtually whatever functionality and vision your designers and developers might have for your website. It has fully integrated SEO, Social Sharing, Analytics, Landing Pages, Contact List, Email and Workflows into a powerful platform. It also seamlessly integrates into the most popular CRMs including Salesforce. For those who do not need all the bells and whistles that come with Salesforce, HubSpot has developed their own CRM that both aligns with the marketing process and allows for the tracking and automation of many sales processes. Imagine having a website that transitions to be unique for each buyer persona at each stage of the buyer¿s journey. Each time someone visits your site they see new, fresh information that directly relates to their concerns and interest. HubSpot¿s Contextual Marketing and Personalization abilities allow you to have a conversation with your website visitors. Each vertical you serve and every different buyer persona has unique pain points and concerns. So after you identify where a visitor fits, your site can morph to show them the information most relevant to them. Even the same individual will have different concerns and interests as they navigate from awareness to consideration and finally onto a buying stage. With HubSpot your site can be setup to show different information as they navigate this buyer¿s journey. Your website is now having a conversation with each visitor.

Pros: Hubspot contextual marketing capabilities allows you to have a conversation with each buyer persona at each stage of the buyer's journey. It allows each website visitor to find exactly what they need to see in order to take that next step down the sales funnel.

Cons: The basic package is restricted to a small number of contacts. Once you start using HubSpot and seeing results you will need to move up to Professional or Enterprise

Comments: I've been using Hubspot for about 15 months now. It is great software. I love how it consolidates so many different services into one platform and makes it easy to get the analytics for that data. Now I don't have my blog in one place, my email marketing software somewhere else, my landing page software somewhere else, etc. It's all in one platform, consolidated, and fairly easy to use.

Pros: Their support answers questions fairly quickly and accurately. They are always coming out with new features.

Cons: Limited. Hubspot allows you to filter out visitors so they don't skew your analytics. Great. However, you can't filter out countries. Even though, they know based on the IP address the country of the person who submits a form or visits a site, they can't filter it out (won't filter it out). Even though all my clients are from the US, visitors from India who visit my site and try to sell me stuff all the time are skewing my analytics and making it look like my conversions are higher than they really are. Can't filter out by country. You also can't change the source of a lead. True story: I host podcast. A listener stumbled upon my podcast, went online, googled my name and found my website. Hubspot now classifies this as an 'organic lead'. The worst part is I can't change it. I've brought this up with Hubspot, and they said that they don't allow it to be changed 'to protect the integrity of the data'..... Hmm. So they'd rather have incorrect data than wrong data? So forever my analytics will be off because I can't change the source. This happens also on referrals. Somebody is referred to me, they then google my name or business and fill out a contact form, and Hubspot classifies it as organic, but really, it's not. (They don't even have a field for referral in the source). Another downside is you can't create your own lead status. So, if you get a lead to your site, and they will never buy (say they are a spammer of competitor or former customer you had a falling out with), you can't change their status to say for example: No Opportunity-Former Client No Opportunity-Marketing Agency No Opportunity-Spammer This is just the tip of the iceberg as far as cons. Still even with all these cons. they offer a great product. That said, for the price and these limitations, I will be looking around when I am close to up on my agreement.

Comments: HubSpot is truly an all-in-one marketing automation platform. Expect to get your entire team involved as there are tools for everyone; email, calls-to-action, workflows, reporting, lead scoring, CRM, website CMS, social dashboard and so much more. As a HubSpot Platinum Partner, not only do we use this software for ourselves, but we use it for all of our inbound marketing clients. Inbound marketing gets results, if you do it correctly. Don't be fooled, executing a solid inbound campaign takes a lot of hours and a lot of know-how, HubSpot can help to alleviate that pain. With a dashboard that incorporates all of the necessary tools, you can forget about wasting time and focus on getting results. The HubSpot community is also something to be coveted. HubSpot has built a vast network of brand evangelists that are willing to help and share experiences with other users. HubSpot helps to facilitate these communities and offers a lot of their own content and expertise to aid users.

Pros: HubSpot is easy to use once you have gone through their training. You will need to understand the inbound methodology to see results, and with a HubSpot certification, you will have a great basis for how to use the tool out of the box. If you run into trouble, you can always call their very helpful support staff, or look to their online resources for help. Between HubSpot and their communities, this tools is very well documented. HubSpot also does everything. You will be able to cancel all other automation subscriptions after adopting this software.

Cons: HubSpot can seem expensive up front, especially if you are just starting out. It's worth the money if you can justify the amount of sales you will need to generate to justify the cost. You will also need to sign a one year contract, there is no month to month. Inbound isn't an instant fix, and HubSpot knows that. You will have to commit to a year to understand the full use of the tool. You will need to work with an agency. This isn't required, but in order to get the best out of the tool, you need to utilize a company that is in this tool day in and day out who is willing to partner with you strategically. Don't sell yourself short by trying to do it all yourself, it simply isn't feasible and you will be disappointed with the results.

It´s a very easy to use CRM software, I love to use it daily because I save a lot of time.

It has a lot of resources and training tools very helpful for an easy learning.

It can generate reports in a large variety of metrics, making it vesatile.
Easy data finding just typing customer's name.
It reduces the need of other tools. You can save a lot of time.
There is an mobile app available, so you can use it and work anywhere.
This software really simplifies marketing automation .

Cons: It's price. If your business is small and you have not a medium cash flow, good sales level and full-time dedicated worker it seems to be to much expensive in its cost-profit relation. Pricing can be expensive depending on the version you need.
It stops working completely sometimes.
It's hard to find customers with latin names because important characters like the accent are not available.
It's hard to get friendly with the app. Sometimes information finding is difficult, it may take a while to find it.
The contract is billed annually, not monthly.
The market platform reporting could be better.
Too much time needed for customizing it before you can use it easy.
It's not the dream application fot multinational companies that work in multiple currencies.
Sometimes you get daunted using it.
The editors for mailing or webpage creating can be clunky. If you are not enough carefully you can get awful results.
Sometimes tools need to be improved for a better performance and to be functional and friendly to the user.

Overall: I save a lot of time that I can use to be more productive in my business.

Comments: We investigated HubSpot as a way to help us be more efficient in managing our client's digital marketing efforts, which had become time consuming using multiple different platforms. With HubSpot, we're able to keep everyone focused on the same goals across the various channels (email, blog, social, PPC) and view the results all in one place. Better yet, it gives us a platform where we can collect all this information on a contact and company basis, making it easier for us to see the interactions we're having with a single contact across the board. Reporting has become easier, and it's much easier now to make an impact with our marketing efforts with everything centralized.

Pros: The system is pretty intuitive, more so than other platforms we've used. You don't need to learn multiple platforms (different email clients like MailChimp, Constant Contact, etc, plus WordPress, Blogger, and all the social outlets), just keep up with the one and launch everything from the same place. There are helpful guides along the way that ensure you're following best practices, and warnings when you're not. We are heavy users, ultimately deciding to become a HubSpot Certified Partner Agency due to the efficiencies and value. Much easier than other marketing automation suites we've used in the past, including Marketo and SalesFusion. And if you do need help, their Support line is phenomenal, incredibly personable and willing to take the time to help.

Cons: As with most applications, the software can be a bit "hinky" sometimes, getting hung up or taking too long to process. Usually they flag the situation though, so you know what's going on and that they're working on it. If there's no flag, we report it, and they get someone working on it right away - nice to be taken seriously. The reporting generally requires that we need to take screenshots instead of using the ppt that the system auto-generates at month end - it's just not detailed enough for most of our clients. Sometimes it's difficult to keep up with all the system updates/upgrades, so be ready to invest some time in the training or find a partner to help.

Pros: I like that HubSpot practices what it preaches. They educate customers (and the public) in inbound marketing techniques, the very techniques they're using themselves to earn customers! The product itself is easy to use and intuitive. Whenever we think up something we want to do (a specific tactic or approach), we always know that HubSpot can accommodate that idea. What I like best is the seamless way in which we can manage all of our blogging, website, social media, and enews all in one platform and see all of the analytics in that same place. Everyday we are logging into Hubspot to schedule social media posts, blogs, edit automated workflows, and more. Other staff use the tool for a monthly touchpoint email they send to their lists of contacts. And weekly, we send our FatherSource enewsletter from within HubSpot using the email templates. Further, HubSpot integrates with our Salesforce CRM, and provides valuable information to our sales staff, which can help them better help our customers/potential customers. We assign leads that come through HubSpot and feed into Salesforce for personal follow-up from NFI staff.

Cons: As for what I like least: nothing! Seriously. We couldn't be as successful as we are today without this tool. We have two people managing our marketing and Hubspot acts as a third person. Before HubSpot we were using Constant Contact, The Raisers Edge contact database, Blogspot, and Blackbaud Net Community for our website, and posting separately on twitter, Facebook, and linked in. Now we can do all of this in one place! If I had to choose one thing I like least, it's that there is a not a plug-in for drafting, distributing, and monitoring press releases and incorporating them into overall marketing campaigns. I think HubSpot could help us be more efficient in this way. Fortunately, this deficiency isn't not really a major concern for us.

Recommendations to other buyers: I suggest considering all of the marketing tasks you and your team does on a weekly basis and evaluate whether the tool you are considering can a) save you time and b) allow you to report on all of your work in one place. HubSpot saves us tons of time, because all of the aspects of any campaign are located within one system. There's no jumping around to disparate systems to complete tasks and measure success. Also, be sure thats it's easy to use for anyone in your office, even those who are less technology-savvy.

Pros: It's fairly easy for anyone with moderate tech skills to get up and running with HubSpot, and it produced noticeable improvements across virtually all commonly measured key performance indicators for our customers. Integrating HubSpot was relatively quick and easy, and we were able to work with our clients to launch basic customized user content on their websites within a few days. Their all-in-one inbound marketing software is also quite flexible and scalable, so our clients were able to steadily build out more campaigns and customized user content as they were able to dedicate more time and resources to using HubSpot. It's also worth mentioning that there are multiple pricing tiers which have vastly different features depending on the price, and the bulk of my experience was with the 2 highest pricing tiers (Professional & Enterprise), so lower pricing tiers aren't nearly as robust, and probably wouldn't be nearly as scalable or effective, but you can always upgrade to higher tiers should you need additional functionality. There is even a free tier with minimal functionality that newer users can try out at first, and then upgrade to the higher tiers if they think that it's worthwhile.

Cons: The various types of rules for serving automated content to users are good, but it's impossible to build out more complicated rules that involve using multiple criteria to create more complex user flows that branch out based on differing user behaviors. It would also help if there were a way to create new automated content campaigns in bulk using different criteria somehow, like filling out and uploading an Excel template or something like that.

Overall: It allowed us to quickly implement user-specific content for our clients' websites.

Pros: With Hubspot Marketing, We have built deeper relationships by sharing important updates about our services to get the prospect to a sale-qualified lead. The deeper insights on every prospect/lead has always guided us to know what the marketing qualified lead is expecting from us, and we have adjusted our campaigns to make the most of it.

With Hubspot, all the campaigns(social media, email) are very easy to create, manage and quantify the results. There is very minimal effort needed from the developer stand point. The only work needed is with creating the UI's. The templates for each of the campaigns are fully responsive(adjusts to every screen- mobile, tablets & desktops) and customizable as well.

The tools helped us in getting additional traffic to the website, blog and landing pages. at the same time, we have nurtured the leads with the targeted campaigns, and made them Sale Qualified Lead.

Cons: The pricing of the tool is way above our budget initially, but once the leads started, we did not bother very much about the pricing.

We have about 6 domains for each of the service offerings by our company. Somehow, the Hubspot Tool do not support multiple domains with the same pricing, we have to take additional subscription for each domain.

We have tried reaching out to support team from Hubspot as well, but they did not have much of offer.

Pros: My favorite thing about this software is how intuitive it is, overall. Many people purchase HubSpot and are able to hop right in and start using it. HubSpot offers a wide range of help videos, documents, and certifications to get users comfortable with the platform.

While it's generally easy to use, it's still a powerful tool with a learning curve. Many people will get the basics and can work it just fine, but it still takes experience and finagling to get full use out of this investment.

For marketers looking for a powerful tool, but don't have a ton of time to learn it, HubSpot is a great option.

Cons: Their reporting can use some work. Even people I know who *work* at HubSpot would agree with me here.

They have a fairly robust reporting tool, but you have to purchase the add-on.

The reporting you do receive with the tool is alright. Gets you what you need, but if you're an experienced marketer whose constantly digging deeper, you always have to use other tools (Google Analytics, FB ads, Databox, etc) to get the information you need.

Overall: HubSpot is a great one-stop-shop for all your automated marketing strategy needs. You can do social media, content creation + publication, blogging, email marketing, and more from just this one platform.

If you want a tool that "does it all," HubSpot is a great option. Just make sure you know it's worth the investment it's not cheap!

Pros: HubSpot's a very robust tool. It contains a lot of apps that all speak to each other, which is really great if, like me, you're on a very small marketing team and have to prioritise time as much as possible when you're responsible for so many different tasks.
The content optimization tools are excellent (in-post SEO help, campaign strategy tools, keyword difficulty/traffic info). The automation functionality is also stupendous and there are various opt-in/opt-out capabilities so that you can really tailor the UX of your lead generation to fit your persona's buying habits, THE LAW, and your own company ethos regarding data collection.
What I will say to those considering HubSpot for their own organization is to use as many apps as possible and "go all in" - otherwise inbound isn't going to be as effective as you want it to be.

Cons: I'd love to see improved cross-domain functionality in the Enterprise edition. It'd be great to monitor keyword results on multiple subdomains as opposed to just the target domain.
I also look forward to the social monitoring functionality moving beyond Twitter.
While there are a lot of resources available (the academy, community, email support) the learning curve can be steep for those on the start up program who don't get a designated account manager.

Pros: I use HubSpot for a good portion of our Marketing. Emails, landing pages, social media, website tracking, contact lists, etc. It has been super easy to use and I LOVE all of the resources they provide. There is always something new to learn - not only about the product but they also provide helpful material on Marketing and Sales. We use Salesforce as our CRM and haven't had any issues synching the 2 products. A big selling point for us was the ease of use - we don't need to outsource any coding work to build landing pages like we did with other products.

Cons: I have no big issues with the software. It is expensive but we use it every day so we see the value. As with any product, there are things I wouldn't mind seeing added or changed but no deal breakers here.

Overall: We had previously been using another platform for our web tracking, emails, content, etc. but found the product confusing and very pricey for the features we were actually able to use. We do not have a lot of coding experience in our department and wanted something that was easier to use and would allow us to do everything all in one spot. Enter HubSpot! We have been users of HubSpot for over 6 months and are very happy with everything it has to offer. Customer service has been top notch and we haven't really had to contact them for much since everything is pretty easy to use and there is an endless amount of articles, blog posts, etc on anything and everything to help you learn the product. We could have probably done without the expensive onboarding as I think we would have been able to learn everything through the training videos, articles and tools. However, this addition might be helpful for other organizations -- I am just one of those people who tend to learn how to do things through my own research and trial and error. I use HubSpot at work every single day!

Pros: SEO features to maximize organic search results and keep an eye on keywords within content.
Email marketing for events while using the contact database (integrated with Salesforce)
Landing pages are nice and easy to use.
CTAs are easy to manipulate and modify coding.
Templates are useful.
Blogging platform is really nice and the automation associated with social postings saves so much time.

Cons: Media library for content, images, and uploads gets super messy and unorganized. It would be great if this could use a better user interface for quicker and more efficient use.
Landing pages and custom templates require too much developer/coding knowledge. We wish there was an easier way to create templates from scratch or integrate with SquareSpace/website platform to create consistent branding without coding requirements.

Overall: I love HubSpot. The HubSpot University made trainings super easy and I feel like a pro. Being extremely comfortable in the system is important to maximizing our features and benefits. I especially like the speed of response when interacting with customer service.
The SEO, website tracking and social integrations are very beneficial and our Salesforce API is integrated for lead scoring.

Recommendations to other buyers: We suggest taking the HubSpot University training courses and tutorials. They are super helpful and once you have mastered the courses you will be able to navigate and utilize HubSpot in a snap!

Comments: I've been using HubSpot in different roles at different jobs for over 3 years now and I still can't speak highly enough about it. I use HubSpot every single day to post blogs, manage campaigns, track email engagement, and more. Now, we've even started to build sites in the HubSpot website builder for our clients and are rebuilding our company site in HubSpot as well. I've tried other tools and while some may say with HubSpot you're somewhat "stuck" with their selection of tools...that's fine with me because they're truly the best!

Pros: Their blog optimization tools are invaluable and the tracking and analytics are fantastic. HubSpot is so easy to use and they provide so much great training and support as well. Plus, they're constantly improving it and adding on. For example, they recently added additional reporting options, paid ad tracking in the ads add on, and more. We also use the CRM and it's really great because it's finally a CRM designed for ease of use by salespeople. So many CRMs are designed to give upper management the reports they need but are so difficult for salespeople to use and use well that it defeats the purpose. Anyway, HubSpot is awesome and I honestly can't imagine doing my job without it.

Cons: There are some occasional bugs especially with the new WYSIWYG/WYSIWII editor but support is always super responsive and can usually help remedy any issue quickly and easily. My one con for HubSpot used to be that their reporting left a lot to be desired but now with the new reporting add on that's not really true anymore. I guess the only con I would have with HubSpot is that it does take time to get started and get going with content. It's a full time job to manage content and marketing in HubSpot so if you can't dedicate time and resources to the tool - don't think it's going to just magically make your marketing better - especially not over night. If you understand that then I have no cons!

Pros: Unfortunately for this really good company time seems to have passed them by. I read everything HubSpot wrote and went twice to a worldwide event - but they don't have much new to say for the SME and others out there are taking over the field.

Cons: Because I loved what I had learned from them I steered our company to a year long, very expensive contract, what I found was a system based on the old days when our tech wasn't as modular and people just wanted a website that works - the basic problem is that they want to own your web turf - they just don't play well with others.

As a modern innovative company we are agile and our software comes and goes according to need - that was not an environment that HubSpot wanted to support - as they are based on the concept that you host your website with them as well.

Its been a while now and we've moved on - its possible some of this has been fixed but I am sceptical they will ever completely overcome these roots. Old school doesn't win out in an agile world.

Overall: I love Capteera - I am NOT a review writer, but sometimes the public just needs to know that something in our innovative world works really well. Alternatively I feel responsible for helping others avoid what has been a bad/disappointing.
experience. Software is too intimate or basic to our lives - it creates true angst if or when it goes wrong, so I reach out to help others and Capteera helps me do that easily and well.

Thanks Capteera for helping us upgrade our world with little stress.

Pros: Ease of use. Sales and Marketing teams won't adopt a new platform that is difficult to use or adds more time to their day. Thankfully, Hubspot is so much easier to use than our prior CRM and Marketing tools our teams were excited to switch.

Cons: Not necessarily a con, but to implement a quality CRM and Marketing solution it takes time. Thankfully, Hubspot is there to help you along at every step of the journey. Make the most out of your time with the Hubspot team by implementing action items between calls - not during. As we discussed inbound strategies with Brittany, our dedicated Implementation Specialist at Hubspot, we made a point to put those items into action before the next scheduled phone call. This not only allowed us to review and tweak our own strategies, rather than discuss the specifics of general implementation, but we ended up with more time to discuss strategy and big-picture initiatives.

Overall: Hubspot is more than just a great sales and marketing software platform, it's a solution surrounded by the greatest knowledge sales and marketing hub (Hubspot Academy) and by the smartest and most helpful implementation, account manager, and support people in the business.

Implementing Hubspot was the One-Two Punch our business needed. It aligned our sales and marketing efforts and delivers detailed sales and marketing metrics. We now have the needed information to manage the growth and success of our business thanks to Hubspot.

Recommendations to other buyers: Hubspot Ads is a great tool for measuring the effectiveness of your SEM campaigns making Hubspot a great one-stop shop for managing digital marketing activities. The new website analytics reports are simple to understand and nicely integrated into the the sales and marketing reports within Hubspot.

Pros: I primarily use the email tracking integrated with outlook, so that is what this will be pertaining to:

1. There is a free version of the software that is not for a limited time (typically 14 days), this allows you to test or use the software with limited functionality indefinitely.

2. Integrating into outlook is easy and emails are automatically tracked.

3. There are notifications on any device I choose to use: Currently, I get a push notification to my desktop and to my phone, this allows me to see when people read or view my emails at all times, but if this gets annoying... (read point 4)

4. Notifications can be muted for specific conversations: If I send an email to 50 people, I don't need to see everytime someone opens the email, specific threads can be muted.

5. The invisible image pixel that loads is not visible: some software requires that you have a footer that states that the email is being tracked, this defeats half of the purpose I am using the email program - *detection free tracking

Cons: Again, this is relating primarily to the email tracking feature, which is integrated with outlook:

1. It can be difficult to find if a specific email was read within outlook (I used to use other software that would show if the email was read when I clicked on the sent email within outlook)

2. There is a limit to the free versions functionality, which isn't really a con but rather an area I like least.

Overall: Precise email tracking and cross-platform anonymous email read notifications.

Pros: 1. All marketing automation and CRM functionality in one software and no need for assembling the software stack for several vendors. 2. Good instructions and content which helps you the be pro in using the software and in inbound marketing. 3. Excellent support.

Cons: Hubspot is one of the most expensive software in the market. Especially if you want to have the advanced features (marketing automation, A/B-testing) of the software.

Overall: We are 5-person startup. We have used Hubspot Basic now 1 1/2 years. We have slowly increased the amount of content in the tool and have been able to attract increasing numbers of customers with inbound marketing.
I'm very pleased with the all-in-one approach where everything you need for digital marketing is in one software. I value as well the high quality content (blogs, ebooks, academy...) that Hubspot produces for general public and for their customers. I have found many valuable tips and tricks from their content.
If you want to use the latest and greatest of digital marketing, you probably have to assemble your software stack from several components. But if you are willing to wait for a while, you can see new features being added to Hubspot after the new concept has been tested and found useful in the market. One example of this Lead Flows (conversion pop-ups) which has been in the tool for a year.

Recommendations to other buyers: You and the key players in your organization should learn the big picture regarding Inbound marketing from Hubspot Academy before buying the software. I see many organizations using only 50 % of the software and getting only 25 % of the benefits because they do not understand the whole concept.

Pros: HubSpot does the trick for our small marketing team. When it comes to blogging, landing pages for webinars and ebook downloads and registrations for events and email newsletters and automated email nurturing, HubSpot works well for us. We don't use all of the features as well as we should but the core features I mentioned above work great. We do also use the campaign feature for everything we create so we can track the effectiveness of our content. It is not perfect attribution, but it does tell us what content is "influencing" who becomes a customer. The integration with Salesforces and the syncing of campaigns to Salesforce helps us track that.

Cons: I don't think the reporting function really tells us what we want to know. Maybe we are not using it properly, but it is not easy to just find out "How many new leads came in for this persona last week." And to compare that number in a month by month trend over time.

Overall: We can track all of our marketing activity in HubSpot. It is really half of our website when you count blogs and landing pages. Perhaps most importantly, the automation of lead nurturing with the workflow features saves us tons of time and allows us to keep leads in the loop and bring them through the buyer journey when ready.

Pros: Full functionality. Exceptional team. All in one place. Company has the right values and is going in a great direction.

Cons: Significant price point that seems to get higher and higher. Software outages that seem to get more and more often.

Overall: Right or not, I think of HubSpot as the innovators in the Marketing Software Technology Space. To me, that means they consistently have the most important functionality and tie it together well. The down side is that I have seen outages in their web hosting, and I think there is a significant learning curve to really get value out of the software. Finally, because they have a dominant place in the market, I think they charge a lot more than competitors. For the time being I'm not sure you can get exactly what you get from HubSpot for a lower price, but you can get REALLY close for pennies on the dollar. I am and remain a HubSpot fan and advocate, but I am not always convinced that they are they best value for the service they offer. They offer huge value, but I'm uncertain that they are the best value for the investment when a client needs a package beyond the $250 / month mark.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you are reading this, you probably should be using some kind of marketing software like HubSpot. HubSpot may be the ideal way to start. After a year, be aware of your alternatives, especially if your contact list is growing. You may stay with HubSpot, or find a way to replicate similar results with a lower software cost.

Comments: We use HubSpot for the marketing comunication of the agency. All organization use it, in fact, all of us are certified in Inbound Methodology. Additionally, the tool brings us the opportunity to train our team with all certifications and study resources.

Pros: Content management, It facilitates the creation of any piece of content. From a post to social networks, a blog post, a mailing or Landing Page. Contact management, Because it allows for a total tracking of each user from reaching away until it becomes a client. Also it helps to monitor the life cycle of each contact and creating smart for debugging database lists. Keyword management, I love completely handling the keywords of HubSpot because it helps you to do research, it helps you track and in each publication helps you with optimizing contents. The forms, With smart fields avoid frequent contacts ask the same information and thus helps us limentar our database with additional information about each person.

Cons: Keywords suggestions only work in English and short tail keywords.

Recommendations to other buyers: I recommend using HubSpot brands with long purchase cycles. I do not recommend at retails or massive consumption brands. Yes, they could use some tactics Inbound, which could be implemented seamlessly with other tools. HubSpot is to go all the way, each phase of the Inbound Methodology.

Pros: I like that it hosts literally everything you need tool wise to help you execute your marketing strategy. Having the blogging and social sharing platforms in one place has been extremely easy to use. They truly set you up for success by having tons of resources, checklists, etc. available so that you know how to market and connect with your audience.

Cons: Specifically for the software, I do not understand the Design Manager. This directly affects your marketing because if you are editing a template so that it is unique for the campaign you are working on you have to use the design manager. I think it is confusing to anyone who does not understand coding. The old design manager made way more sense to me. Looking at HubSpot as a product it is not convenient that their tier metric is contacts and the annual payment is inconvenient. As a HubSpot partner, we sell this to customers and lose a bunch of them because the annual price or we lose customers from going to Pro rather than basic because the contact metric will screw them over and they will wind up paying more.

Overall: I have access to all the major marketing tools and all the education I need to make sure I understand the market and how to better connect with my audience. HubSpot is a great tool that helps businesses reach their goals and grow by growing their online presence.

Hello Hannah! Thank you for taking the time to write this review - we appreciate you giving us feedback on our product! I am so happy to hear that you have been so happy with the software up to this point - it sounds like you are doing an amazing job at using all the tools available to you! As far as room for improvement - I'm sorry to hear about your experience with the new Design Manager, it can definitely be a bit overwhelming to a new user, particularly one who does not understand coding. We are working on producing more instructional content to help with this process but, in the meantime, here is one article that has some helpful instructions as well as links to other helpful pieces of content (https://designers.hubspot.com/blog/introduction-to-the-design-manager). I would love to talk more about this and the other issues you have brought up. If you are open to it, please reach out to us at the email provided. Thank you again for the review Hannah!

Comments: I love HubSpot.

Pros: SEO features to maximize organic search results and keep an eye on keywords within content. Email marketing for events while using the contact database (integrated with Salesforce) Landing pages are nice and easy to use.

Recommendations to other buyers: We suggest taking the HubSpot University training courses and tutorials. They are super helpful and once you have mastered the courses you will be able to navigate and utilize HubSpot in a snap!

With HubSpot I simplified my marketing strategy and unified my team, tools and data in one place!

Pros: With the automation of marketing, we rely on the behavior to customize emails, content and offers.
Automate email campaigns to help our prospects move through the funnel and generate more qualified sales opportunities.

It also creates extraordinary emails without having to modify codes. You choose between a dozen activations, conditions and actions to send the appropriate emails to the right sales opportunities at the right time.

But the best thing of all is that each workflow that it generates can be linked to a clear objective, so that we will always know if our emails work correctly. Also, because workflows are part of the fully integrated marketing platform, it also has the tools to grow and replenish our database as contacts leave the list naturally over time.

Cons: The marketing aumatixación can become a complex process apart from the economic expense generated by its use. Also when there are so many tools we run the risk of focusing on paying attention to one and leaving out many automated marketing opportunities and we would be paying for functions that we do not use.
In addition, all the tools for automated marketing have their fundamental basis in the segmentation of leads, and their function is to gather information about these users in order to deliver certain content.
And the problem with this is that often this information is not always accurate enough and could lead us to deliver content to unsuitable people at the wrong time and, then, not get anything to help us, or the client in his decision-making or the brand in its growth.

Overall: Answering some messages, sending welcome messages, or being able to send certain emails can be very time consuming and tiring if done manually. In fact, in cases where the volume of users is too large, it could be impossible. The best solution to these problems is using HubSpot

Hello Beatriz! Thank you for taking the time to write this thorough review - we really appreciate your feedback! I am really glad to hear that the platform has been helpful in unifying your marketing team's strategy, tools, and data in one place! It sounds like you are making great use of the Workflows tool to do business easier and faster! As far as room for improvement - I'd love to dig in deeper to some of the specific issues you have been facing. Specifically, when you speak about your feeling that you may prioritizing certain tools within HubSpot while neglecting other ones - do you find this is something that happens often? Do you need to remind yourself to invest time in the other tools? Would it be helpful if HubSpot reminded you periodically about the other tools at your disposal or would this prove to be more annoying than helpful? If you would like to continue the conversation, feel free to email me and we can keep talking! Thank you again, Carl

Pros: I love the simple UI, and the fact that the company provides such detailed online training documentation both for the product and for inbound marketing in general. Hubspot really is a partner in the success of our company, with awesome support staff and helpful account managers. They have a great onboarding process that will leave even an inexperienced market feeling capable and competant.

Cons: Hubspot is designed to be used by anyone, so once you start getting fancy on the code, you start running into problems where Hubspot defaults try to override your customizations. You can work around it, but it's clear that it wasn't built for this purpose.

Overall: Hubspot is an incredible tool that makes it easy to handle all of your marketing tools in one platform. It is so awesome to be able to log in and update my blog, check on my stats, track my progress to goals, post on social media, update my website, and check SEO all in one spot. It majorly increases my efficiency, I don't know what I'd do without Hubspot.

Recommendations to other buyers: The more you know about inbound marketing, and the more you follow this philosophy, the more you'll get out of Hubspot. When you sign up with the platform, commit to learning about inbound marketing as a whole, and how it applies to Hubspot.

Great product, service & education/reference make Hubspot a winner!

Pros: Easy to use, consistent interface across different functions, extensive educational material on how to get the most out of a marketing budget, frequent rollouts of product improvements & extensions.

Cons: Basic reporting isn't as fully functional as some tools - Reporting add-on might be, but we haven't needed to invest in it yet.

Overall: Our tech startup needed an effective way to gather and track leads, host our blog, organize our social media and email marketing campaigns, and gain insights into our website that complement the info available through Google Analytics. Hubspot does all of that and more, with a consistent, straightforward interface, an active community, and a responsive support team.

On top of all that, their Hubspot Academy material provides standalone value to anyone in marketing with an interest in learning more - so far I've gone through the Hubspot, Inbound and Content certification courses, and still go back to the videos for inspiration on how to improve our marketing results.

For those considering a purchase, I highly recommend doing the free trial and also running through the educational material. If it's a good fit for what you need to do, go for it!

Recommendations to other buyers: Use the academy, and don't be afraid to reach out to your rep for help figuring out how to achieve your marketing goals.

Pros: Their CRM is a great product. I do like the CRM. they provide it for free and it's the gateway to the product.

Cons: Everything else doesn't come close to Marketo and Eloqua. It used to be easier to use but not anymore. The Workflows, which is the marketing automation, is difficult to use for anything more than simple workflows. Anything with more advanced complexity requires working aroud the systems, especially if you're connecting the API and activating workflows off of API events.

Then, we have their support team. As an enterprise customer I expected much better support. They start off by trying to blame the user for not implementing correctly. They do this before they actually check the issue in depth. When they finally do, they pass you off to the developer support forum where no one helps either.

I currently have an ongoing issue for a week and half. I have stopped all marketing campaigns waiting for their assistance in fixing in. They haven't done anything to help and the help they have provided is misguided and off the mark.

Overall: It's a basic solution for my needs and I outgrew them too quickly.

Comments: HubSpot's marketing platform is very robust and contains everything an inbound marketer needs.

Pros: Aside from the ease of use, the product is continually evolving to meet the needs of current marketing trends. HubSpot requests user feedback on a variety of aspects - from design to feature functionality - to make their product the best. It also integrates well with a variety of other platforms, including WordPress and Salesforce.

Cons: Creating a robust form (that includes more than one email or formatting a multi-check section) is cumbersome, and, in some cases, not possible. If you have more than one HubSpot account, all of the premium features are per user per account, which isn't ideal.

Pros: The support! Ive never had any relations with a company that just offers such amazing support. And not only in the quality, they always solve your problem fast. And then i didnt even touch on functionality, for me as a salesperson its immensly valuable to be able to know what prospect to prioritize which is easy with Hubspots lead scoring. And to set up workflows to handle that is very easy within the software. The other functions i really value is the competitors report that i can use to help my clients get a better picture of the competitive landscape. The keyword report is also very helpful since it allows you to easily see how hard it is to rank for a specific work or phrase.

Cons: Its really hard for me to come up with anything bad. If i have to say something that could be better i would go for the transparency in the competitors report, i can for instance see what the marketing rank is for a specific company but i cant see how the software came to that conclusion. I dont see why they rank as they do.

Pros: From email automation to website hosting to analytics to workflows, Hubspot has a lot of marketing tools to offer. They have comprehensive training through the Hubspot Academy, though I find the tools pretty straight forward to use. You can cover content marketing, email marketing, some social media marketing and some paid advertising help using Hubspot's marketing platform.

Plus, their support team is fantastic! About 80% of my clients who are using it love it and it's easy for a marketing agency to carry out their strategies with.

Cons: Social tools are lacking. Moving towards content and away from SEO (meaning the keywords tool was recently removed and more content tools are being added for strategy)

If you build a Hubspot website, there's no easy way to get it out of Hubspot.

Can be expensive if you have a lot of contacts to manage

Overall: 1) Makes carrying out marketing efforts easy
2) One stop shop for most of my marketing needs
3) Easy to use, so it makes my Hubspot work quick
4) Customizable for the beginner and ready for an advanced user

Pros: The beauty of this program is the ability to integrate data from multiple channels and use that data to segment, personalize, test, and automate. If you only need one thing - an email service provider, for example - you can probably find something better. But if you need at least 3 of the core functions, I think it's worth it to give up some of the bells and whistles of other program for the seamless integration you will find here. Other perks:
The customer service is really outstanding. Best I have encountered in the industry.
Frequent updates and improvements to the tools you use the most.
Fairly intuitive UI so it's pretty easy to learn the system.

Cons: Customizing email templates can be quite challenging unless you already know some CSS and HTML.
They have their own programming language, hubl, but thankfully you can do almost everything you need to do without learning it.
Reporting leaves something to be desired (but they just rolled out a new module that will hopefully address that).

Comments: The thing about Hubspot is that they put on a really good front. They have sales people that will call you every 2 weeks for years and they send you a ton of content on marketing automation. You look at their website and you think "I really want my business's marketing to be that good!"

We were totally duped.

We are a small team of 3 people and in looking to purchase Hubspot, we thought it would really amplify our efforts since our team is so small. Instead it has ended up costing us not only the cost of the product (for which we pay around $700/month plus the initial consultation fee of $2,000) but also hundreds of hours of time trying to get it to work for us.

They force you to pay $2000 up front for a consultant to work with you (and then don't do anything to ensure you get all of your consulting hours fulfilled). Our consultant consistently missed phone calls that he scheduled. I'd sit on the phone for 15 minutes, he wouldn't dial in, and then I would have to email him to ask about where he was.

We complained about that and eventually got assigned a new consultant. He was a bit better (at least he showed up for meetings). I, however, had the mistaken idea that paying $2000 to a company on top of the $700/month would mean that the consultant really cared how much value we were getting from the product. Sadly, in our meetings he really expected me to have the agenda on how to use the software which I'm still insanely unfamiliar with.

We are now moving away from them and I have to migrate our blog to a new system. This is just another time consuming task that Hubspot's added to my list.

If you are a start up or small team, do not fall for Hubspot's slick sales and marketing. Once you start paying them, you are just a number and they really don't care how much value your company is getting out of it.

For us, the money we've spent on Hubspot has been like just funneling funds down a black hole. Wish we could have bought something else with the $12,000 we paid them over the past year. While 10k on software may not seem that much to a larger company, that is a huge sum for us at this stage. We really were not the right fit for the product and it frustrates me to this day how hard a salesperson pushed this product on us ensuring us that it will make a difference for our business.

Do not use this or think that it is somehow going to magnify your marketing efforts. It'll just waste your time and money.

One stop shop!

Comments: When I was brought on to launch our organization's new business initiatives, it seemed like a very daunting task. We had an outdated list of thousands of contacts, no inbound leads, low website traffic, and no one in my role previously in 20 years of business. I was forced to wear many hats from marketer, business development manager, sales rep, and content developer. HubSpot brought everything I needed to do, under one roof. I am able to create, manage, and track everything I do. And the best part is, that it all talks to each other seamlessly. From my social media posts to our blog notifications to our off landing pages: all the data is compiled in an easy to create and understand report that helps me determine the best way to tweak our marketing to reach our personas and convert our leads into customers.

Pros: As I mentioned above, everything is in one place. For someone like me, this is a HUGE time saver. Another benefit I would say is exclusive to HubSpot is their awesome staff and support. The tools they produce are never stagnant. There are changes, updates, and improvements DAILY to each aspect of the software. It is continuously improving to work the way I need or want it to. They listen to and value the ideas of their users. I feel like feedback I leave when I find bugs or have issues completing a task, is immediately heard and addressed.

Cons: As is the case with any true inbound/content marketing software, you HAVE to spend the time pouring into it to see a return. If you don't take the time to learn best practices, the latest strategies, and the different functions of the tool, you will not see the return you expect from the software. Put the time in to learn, post, and publish constantly, and you won't be disappointed.

Pros: HubSpot's software is very sticky. It's incredibly user friendly and easy to navigate, with WYSIWYG content editing and publishing. What's even better is their customer service, though. The HubSpot support line was my #1 go-to for my first couple years using it just to make sure I got everything 100% right for my clients (bonus - they have awesome hold music!)

Cons: The only issues with HubSpot I've had are with integrations to other softwares. I regularly had to deal with issues stemming from our Salesforce integrations where fields weren't mapping correctly or at all, which caused significant delays in lead scoring, campaign launches, etc. They also changed their if/then branching logic interface for email, which actually made it much harder to see campaigns from a bird's eye view (you can't zoom out on the branching).

That said, it is still far and away the best marketing automation software I've worked with (especially in comparison to Marketo, which has a user interface circa 1985.)

Pros: It's helps you do all the things you'd want to do to better marketing (ie. top-of-funnel awareness building & demand generation). it's a robust tool and definitely enterprise grade in its capacity. Automation, at it's best, is an efficient way to handle task productivity and also thorough front-end planning of how you'll approach even tiny marketing decisions. If you check the reviews online, it's Hubpsot and a few others are both killing it for features and easy but also values, while known giants (ie. Salesforce) are NOT so great and many known enterprise grade tools are simply too expensive given the actual value they deliver.

Cons: It's a full robust tool and, even with it's great online training "academy", it takes a ton of effort. The question is not "Does person X have the background in marketing"; more like "are you willing to invest the time to train in and properly use this enterprise marketing tool". If you're just, say, managing a mailing list, use MailChimp; if you just need opt-in pages, use ClickFunnels, etc. But this is suite of tools, so commit your marketing team to step up to the plate here. Value is good but still fluxes depending on if you got a discount from a startup accelerator (1st and 2nd years are both cheaper). Customer Support CANNOT do the hard work of learning this tool and designing marketing processes for you.

Overall: It's very cost efficient given the features it has & has amazing UX given how complicated and robust the features are. Big or small, THIS is the "super CRM" you need.

Pros: There are a lot of useful features at any level from free to paid. The CRM is great once you get used to it and have it configured. The platform as a whole leaves little to be desired if you're a paid member. And the lead capture feature is truly a godsend.

Cons: It is not very user-intuitive. And while the free functions give you a taste for what it is capable of, you can't get the full-value without paying for the platform. Which brings me to the next point, it is not affordable to most small business owners. Add to that, the fact that most business owners are not marketers, they end up having to hire on a marketing agency just to set up their Hubspot account and run it for them. This makes it an enterprise only platform. Which is fine, as long as you're not a small business needing a marketing platform solution.

Overall: I have used this platform for years in my own businesses and find it useful when I want to use a set it and forget it marketing automation option. And the free CRM is what we use to capture and nurture our sales pipeline.

Pros: Efficient for marketers, effective for executing marketing campaigns, best analytics to determine which parts of your marketing are working and which ones are not. Capable of performing all digital marketing tasks. It also is very secure and fast platform for website hosting.

Cons: lowest cost useable configuration is ~$450/month - however you come close to that once you assemble point tools to achieve the same capability.

Overall: I have been using Hubspot since 2006, ten years, and the company has continually improved their platform with each year. The primary reasons why I use Hubspot is 1) the ease of use in hosting a website, blog, landing pages, emails, and 2) the analytics you get down to the individual which enables a marketer to optimize performance of marketing initiatives. Previously, in order to recreate the same capabilities with wordpress, I would have to assemble a set of tools, all with their own analytics and user models. I truly believe marketer's are more efficient and effective with Hubspot.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you are new to using Hubspot, consider working with an Inbound Marketing agency to get you started on the right path.

Pros: Online training academy and certifications - Provide step-by-step videos/classes to help you implement what you want to achieve.
In depth analytics and data collection.
In depth customer timeline that tracks every communication you exchange.

Cons: In order to pass some certifications, you have to submit a practical assessment. This can often take a while to be graded and returned to you. Some modules remain locked until you have received the practicum back, causing delays in getting certified.
Add-ons through HubSpot are expensive, some clients do not want to pay out for these extras.
Links sometimes break on blog posts.

Overall: I am an inbound marketing exec who uses HubSpot on a daily basis. The company I work for, Strategic IC, is a B2B digital marketing agency that helps clients generate qualified leads via inbound marketing and sales, social media and open source web development. We are a Gold Certified HubSpot partner and therefore also promote the use of HubSpot to our own clients. We use HubSpot to run various different Inbound campaigns, and create lots of landing pages and CTAs through HubSpot. HubSpot is used throughout the whole of the company and is a very easy and intelligent tool to use. We and also our clients that have bought HubSpot have experienced good results from using the tools it provides.

HubSpot includes lots of training and certifications so it can be used if you're a beginner and also if you're a really experienced marketer as well. It provides really good resource for teams that want to write content such as blogs, eBooks etc., send out personalised emails and other tasks all on the same user platform. HubSpot is also very helpful with data analysis and measuring all different types of metrics - the dashboard provides good visuals and graphs to help understand progress.

Recommendations to other buyers: HubSpot is a very intuitive tool which helps to prompt and guide the user to help them achieve the best results.

For an end user, it definitely gets the job done.

Pros: Everything you need is under one hood. It's especially useful if your company manages multiple social media accounts AND multiple blogs. It's terrific for that. Building emails and landing pages are also fairly easy and intuitive.

Cons: Enabling search functionality on your blog is difficult and there's surprisingly little support for it that we could find within Hubspot. We wound up having to pay for a custom google search to add that functionality to our blogs. And while I appreciate the commitment to making sure Hubspot stays current, the UI changes perhaps too frequently, and seemingly for little reason other than to enact change.

Overall: I'm a copywriter for a fairly large internal marketing team at a fairly large company. We have two separate divisions that each maintain their own social media presence, blog presence and inbound content strategy, all for very different audiences. Having the ability to host content, create blog content, emails and landing pages, post and monitor social media activity, organize contact lists and track other important information is hugely important as we continue to develop our inbound strategy. I think we have been very successful at this in the last few years, and that is largely thanks to the tools and resources we've received from Hubspot.

Pros: Overall, HubSpot is a robust platform for professional marketers looking to boost inbound leads. Here are the HubSpot features most importance to me: 1. Visitor domain tracking: The "Prospects" view shows you the latest traffic from known domains, which is a great asset for us as B2B marketers. 2. Referring domain tracking: With all that great content we're generating, it's important for us to know where cross-links get nested and where are next wave of leads may be emanating from. 3. Social media scheduling/campaign assignment across channels. HubSpot essentially has a Hootsuite built right into it - but no link shortener. I still meander over to bit.ly for that.

Cons: My primary gripe is the inability to do simple HTML template imports and editing for emails. There are CSS sheets (which is beyond my skill-set and interest level to futz with) and templates for purchase, but sometimes I find it easier to slide over to MailChimp for some campaigns to use my HTML existing templates. Then there are the little nit-picky items that could use their attention: column sortability, for example, or being able to clear through from a report to view a visiting domain summary - not just the known contacts summary. Also, the dashboard claims to be customizable, but there are limits to what a person can set as dashboard elements. There's no internal link shortener for social media blasts. Those are pretty drill-down user requirements, though not deal-breakers.

Recommendations to other buyers: Tip number one: remember that the nice people at HubSpot are inbound marketing evangelists, and they believe with all their hearts in a set methodology. If you are looking only for an email marketing platform, you may find yourself in over your head. To take advantage of HubSpot, you will need to think actively about campaign after campaign - and content, content, content! - that attracts inbound leads. But really, you should be doing that anyway, right?

Pros: Hubspot makes it easy to build email marketing campaigns, track the results, and glean relevant insights. It can integrate with existing websites, and the landing page and call-to-action creation is simple and intuitive. Its a powerful platform that comes with an entire knowledge base of tips, resources, and ideas for marketing professionals of all kinds, and the tech support is fantastic.

Cons: The platform gets updated quite a bit (a good thing), but sometimes this means that navigation items/functions change locations, and interfaces/views change and require adjustment. Hubspot is also comparatively expensive, and if a company builds its entire marketing campaign in Hubspot (blogs, email, landing pages, etc.) its hard to move everything to a new platform

Overall: Streamlined marketing campaign implementation, time savings from marketing automation, opportunity to learn a lot about inbound marketing through in-depth knowledge database, certifications, and 24-7 support.

Comments: HubSpot became an asset for our organization. Going into the software, I was able to get all of the support I needed, 24/7. The phone support staff is every helpful, and wants you to succeed. The training programs provided me with all the knowledge I needed to run the software. This program is essentially the heart of our organization, aiding us in all our inbound marketing needs. If you're looking for an all-in-one program, this is the one!

Pros: HubSpot offers everything an inbound marketing agency can offer with just a click of a button. It has sections for web development, design, email campaigns, tracking leads and consumers, buyer personas, social media, campaign forms, buttons, call to actions, and even integrates with surveys and other platforms. You can even schedule meetings with potential and current consumers. This program is fantastic!

Cons: The software takes some getting used to, and like all technology, sometimes there are design glitches, but the support team almost always fixes them immediately.

Recommendations to other buyers: Try this, you're going to love it. I was weary at first too, but it's honestly the best program. Marketers of all levels can learn how to work the program. You can even get certified. This is a great tool for those who want to improve their small businesses inbound portfolios or for big organizations to keep an eye out for changes in the market. This program is changing how the world sees marketing from an inbound perspective.

Pros: Hubspot gives you a massive amount of data about your potential customers and tells you how likely the lead is to become a customer. You can view how frequently a lead is visiting your website, which emails they've opened, which landing pages get the most traffic, etc. The data that Hubspot provides helps you guide your marketing plan in a direction that your target market is most likely to respond to. That data is incredibly accurate and if anything seems off, the customer service department is quick to respond.

The thing I love most about Hubspot are the certifications. As a manager, I can require my sales team to get "Hubspot certified" which means they watch a series of videos to learn how Hubspot marketing works. This is all completely available via Hubspot and makes training a breeze.

Cons: The algorithm for predictive lead scoring could use a bit of work. I've had complaints from my team that a non responsive lead can be listed high on the predictive lead scoring, when the chance of this lead converting to a customer is slim to none.

Comments: The Pros:
First and foremost having all tools related to blogging, social media, SEO, email marketing and analytics all in one place. This is a timesaver. I used to jump between at least 10 different tools to do what I do in HubSpot. I love the dashboard to get a quick pulse on how my month of marketing is going. I love that their tools are built to be persona driven and campaigns can be organized around your personas. Campaigns are a great way to keep all your efforts in sync and organized and to keep ROI and measurement nice and clean for various initiatives. We converted our blog to COS and we are very happy we did, the blog drafting tools are great, easy to use and effective. Hubspot forms have become an integral part of our lead generation program. I love the ability to create complex workflows using automation based on any set of complex events and triggers I want based on what contacts have done and what we know about them. Workflows have transformed our lead nurturing program using targeted automated email lead nurturing. Huge time saver. I think Hubspot also perfectly blends the art of delivering an incredible tool that is their platform, but just as important is their ability to deliver the inbound training and support to make sure their clients are successful at using the tool. Lastly, I love the keywords tools, the sources reports, custom report features, smart lists, and their social media chrome extension.

The Cons:
I wish there was a little more customization when it comes to setting up users and user permissions. A little more granule options would be nice there. I'd like to be able to give certain internal staff access to the email tools only, or to social tools only etc... I also would like to see more in-depth analytics when it comes to user stories and traffic paths/flow.

Overall, it's been a great experience so far. We are entering our 1 year mark using the tool in February of 2016 and we're happy with the success its helped our marketing department reach already. Comparing year over year, with hubspot we've created over 200% more leads and it's been more organized and easier to analyze. We LOVE the CRM integration with their marketing database. Our entire sales team uses the CRM. This combo is what puts the icing on the cake for our organization.

Pros: Speaking as someone who wears both the sales and marketing hat in my organization, this tool has been incredible. Everything I do on a daily basis can be done from this one tool. And even more than that, all the data connects giving me one big picture of the marketing and sales process.

Cons: While it is amazing that the tool is rapidly evolving and improving with new features, this often means there are some aspects that don't function properly. These are usually small bugs that get ironed out pretty quickly. It also is a big investment. Yes, monetarily, but also time wise. Getting started with HubSpot required A TON of upfront time. However, HubSpot provides an on-boarding consultant that works with you one on one to ensure you are getting the most out of your investment in the first 6 months. OR, a number of agencies, like us, have partnered with HubSpot to help onboard our customers. We've undergone the same training their internal reps have so that we are well equipped to help.

Recommendations to other buyers: You will need help. You need someone at least familiar with code (for implementing the tracking code and various other features they recommend putting on the back end of your site), a designer or someone comfortable creating images for landing pages, blog posts, and calls to action buttons (which is all created via templates in the tool itself), a content writer (this is a big one--in order to maintain the momentum recommended, you need to be producing new content constantly), and finally a marketer to manage and monitor the campaigns (perform testing, segment target lists, make any updates or changes as the campaign runs).

Pros: I can control my social, email marketing, automation, landing pages, and so much more all from one spot. They are always coming out with new and innovative tools to add value to the product - - - for instance, their new lead flows is fantastic!

Cons: Designing a template or landing page can sometimes require coding if you want something that's not out of the box. I've been able to work around the restrictions with the little bit of code that I do know, and their customer support team is fantastic to fill in the gaps. Also, we just renewed our contract and I wanted to take away part of our service and replace it with another one of their products - our needs have changed since last year. Because we received a "package deal" I had to renegotiate the terms. They were very nice about it but something to ask about when you are signing up.

Overall: Marketing automation, landing pages creator, emails, CTA creator, blog manager, and so much more!

Pros: The software is robust, even at the free tier. It does provide some much needed features for starting businesses though there are a few pit falls.

Cons: On the lowest tier, and what makes this most difficult to use is the inability to host domain based e-mail and the requirement for a third party solution. For businesses who are just starting out, this is a necessity and the little charges add up very quickly. If this feature was added to enable very small businesses to grow, Hubspot would be able to lock in that market segment and decimate their competition. Additionally, the price jump from the "free" to the next tier is a bit steep when adding all of the solutions which is pretty much required as their software is the most compatible with other segments of their own software. Add the solution(s) that small businesses use most, work on the pricing a bit, and you'll have way more customers for life.

Pros: HubSpot in general is pretty amazing. We schedule all of our digital marketing, from blogs, to social media, to emails and everything in between to go out through the platform. It provides outstanding metrics to support the marketing budget and provides valuable data to let you know what is working and what isn't.

Cons: You really need to go through onboarding to understand the tool to the full extent. Without onboarding, it takes a long time to learn. We did not do onboarding, and finally learned how to use the tool via the marketing software training and a whole lot of trial and error, but had we gone through onboarding it would have saved us a lot of headaches. I marked ease of use down for this reason. And I marked down customer support because they don't let you know how crucial onboarding is. Then once you have the platform and are struggling, they offer it at a higher cost than you could have gotten it if you went through onboarding upon signing up.

Overall: Trainings are incredible. The software allows you to save a full marketing salary if not more.

Pros: HubSpot is extremely accessible. You get to know about their solutions & their people very well from their free tools, trial versions, massive high quality content from their blogs & their Academy. Their solution stack supports inbound marketing, CRM & sales extremely well. HubSpot is easy to use and their mobile apps support real-time activity planning & tracking.

Cons: There are few cons to speak of. We look forward to additional features & functions in their mobile apps.

Overall: About 2 years ago we transitioned our 'islands of automation' - site on WP, CRM with Zoho, etc, to the all-in-one integrated HubSpot platform. That migration ended the transfer of data between the old systems, the need to reconcile that data and the potential loss of data managed in Excel sheets on several notebooks.

Recommendations to other buyers: Adopting HubSpot successfully requires adequate buy-in from your team, training beforehand, clearly defined goals and a project plan - like for any other system adoption project. Your team will get more done with fewer steps and business insights will improve. With some experience, your team will continue to explore and deploy additional features over time to realise additional benefits of your investment.

Pros: Hubspot is powerful and user friendly. It truly lives up to its mantra of "all in one." Our team is able to do all of our marketing activities and everything works in sync. Hubspot has built an incredible brand and product around the idea of inbound marketing. The tools in the software, from landing pages to file hosting to lead collection forms, gives a marketing team everything needed to succeed doing inbound. Lastly, they are constantly iterating and adding new features. It never felt stagnant.

Cons: It can be difficult to initially setup. It takes several weeks to have your website/blog design implemented into their content management system. There is certainly a learning curve, but once you figure it out it is easy to use.

Overall: Hubspot is key to our marketing team's success. We would not be able to execute our primary marketing tactic -- inbound marketing -- without Hubspot.

Pros: Hubspot comes with a lot of great advanced features & tools for building out and customizing inbound marketing strategies. Lead flows and lead scoring have both been essential to our marketing efforts. Its API integration with Salesforce is another huge reason why we continue to use this product.

Cons: Depending on the scale of use, Hubspot can be expensive because its pricing structure is largely dictated by the volume of leads in your pool. It also has a learning curve, only really works when in the hands of a trained group of power users. Also, while it integrates with numerous other platforms (e.g. Salesforce), integration is not seamless and the mappings can be a lot to keep up.

Overall: Effective inbound marketing capabilities and high quality analytics make for a very robust platform that has helped us increase and reliably track our marketing efforts substantially.

Pros: I liked Hubspot because it organizes all emails of sales and marketing very well, we being medium size business Hubspot provides us a good platform in marketing, it is suitable for both small to a large business like for big corporations. Hubspot also has tutorials on how to use the product, I have watched all these videos which helped me to utilize this software very well, especially using their content manager. Most of my time is spent on using there blogging tools it helped to monitor our marketing sales and activities, the blogging platform is very easy to use and they are well organized.

Cons: I'm a big fan of Hubspot there is no such thing that I like very less, I would like to see some more awesome features such as integration with other software and improvement in the reporting features.

Pros: integrating the use of software to the company has allowed me few people to carry out multiple activities that were previously specialized as the designers or community manager, has allowed me to improve the client portfolio and observe what kind of need they may have during the sales cycle , has allowed me to reach a more demanding clientele with greater purchasing power. Being able to observe the customer's purchase cycle allows the campaigns to be launched in appropriate periods, ensuring the increase in sales. The free version helps me boost my company, which is small. It can be installed on fixed or portable devices and under any operating system

Cons: There are few elements that I found limiting, one is that I can not see the interaction between customers, and I have had difficulties with buyers who have more than one email, because they request products or information from different accounts and I take it as if they were varied customers. The client's privacy begins to be vulnerable to the system

Overall: Low cost in relation to the benefits it provides, it synthesizes several sales functions in a single platform, it is easy to learn

Pros: I've worked with several different marketing automation tools and this one takes the cake. I love how easy it is to integrate a number of different strategies. You can handle your social media posts, the analytics behind all of the pages, link paid spend, watch competitors, and send all of your emails out of the same tool. They've done a great job and continue to better themselves with each release. Their support team is top-notch, they always assist with questions no matter how small and don't make you feel silly for asking.

Cons: It's still a newer product in comparison to the larger companies like Marketo and they are still building out functionality. However, they listen to customer feedback, which I really like about the company and you can tell they're always looking for ways to improve.

Pros: The ability to organize tasks in BC by "to-do buckets" is a great option for our business. Each client that we work with has a different scope of work and requires a customizable interface within BC. Most of our client's retainers change throughout the year so not only have BC look different for each client but having the ability to constantly change the individual set up for clients is crucial.

Cons: I would like to have the option to assign tasks to more than one person. Many times, there are aspects of the project that work in parallel. Sometimes BaseCamp causes a bottleneck when there multiple people involved that need to be working on their portions at the same time.

Overall: I can use this software to keep accountability when working on the project with the internal account team and also the client. This software allows my team to effectively reassign the tasks to the next person or back to me to then give to the client in a timely manner. The notifications before the task due dates are crucial in keeping my clients task on schedule.

Pros: As an agency that needs to work quickly in the marketing world, the software really helps you get your marketing tasks done easy. Wheather you need automated emails to push your leads further down your funnel, custom workflows to move people from list to list and give them specific content properties cause of that. You are covered.

Cons: Ovettime, it's very easy to create a bit of a mess of your backend. Soon, you end up with 50 workflows and 400 lists with no idea where people are going too and are feaeful about what you can change or turn off.

Overall: Workflows with a variety of customizations that leave us with little room for error. For example, one way we can use the workflows is to put specific types of users through an email campaign where we send them a few types of messages about a special offer in different forms until they (hopefully) convert.

Comments: My company has been using Hubspot for the past 7 months. We have our site hosted through Hubspot and obviously use them for our marketing initiatives including blogging, social media strategy, and email marketing. Prior to Hubspot we used several tools to complete these tasks which ultimately was inefficient and took much longer than using a single tool like Hubspot. Since we have been using the platform, we have seen our traffic increase by 75% and our leads increase by approximately 50%. In addition, using the Hubspot CMS to manage our website has been one of the best decisions that we have made. On our previous platform, making changes was difficult and time consuming and often times led to us having to pay the company we were using for development time. In addition, our site was not optimized for mobile technology which drives almost 50% of the traffic on the internet today. By switching to Hubspot, we were able to take control of our website and make the changes that we wanted to make in a timely fashion without having to pay a developer. In addition, we were able to have our site optimized for use on mobile devices to capture more traffic and ultimately more leads. We are a small company of about 20 employees so we have to be able to do more with less and Hubspot has made us more efficient in our marketing strategies and execution.

Pros: This platform is very easy to use and also is very intuitive. In addition, the Hubspot customer support is top notch. Not only are they fast to answer any questions that you might have, but they take time after providing an answer to make sure that their solution accomplished your goals.

Cons: I honestly can't think of any cons to using Hubspot. If you are a SMB that is looking to develop and execute a marketing strategy, Hubspot will help get you there!

Comments: Because we work with a lot of startups and small businesses, Hubspot is perfect for them; it helps them drive traffic and get leads to their business so they can grow fast. I also think it's very easy to "catch on" to Hubspot, even if you aren't a tech genius.

Pros: HubSpot is easier to use than many other marketing tools. My training was quick and pretty painless. HubSpot helps us generate leads both internally, and for our clients. If you are looking to boost inbound efforts, this is the tool to use. HubSpot (the company, not the tool) does a great job providing resources to users. Whether it's their blog, offers, trainings and more, they really care about the growth of their customers.

Cons: Hubspot's reports are definitely not top quality, but they work. There are also times when the software gets a little buggy, which is a pain if you're in the middle of a project.

Recommendations to other buyers: I've used Marketo, and I've transitioned clients into and out of Pardot, and I have to say that Hubspot beats those tools hands down for how easy it is to use.

Pros: Integration, training, support, ease of use, sales and marketing CRM's, one-stop-shop for digital marketing.

Cons: Cost, recent upgrades and tool advancements have been paywalled (new features bundled with '$200 a month' on cost).

Overall: My previous role at a much larger organisation had me and my team using a number of tools for our digital marketing efforts. We spent lots of time trying to reconcile our data to get both some type of reporting of our tactics(what was working and what wasn't) as well as some visibility the link -through to what actions our targets performed (clicking on email / social message + filling out a form).
Hubspot enables all of that from the one ecosystem which now helps me as one-person marketing department. Hubspot continue to push the tool which is pleasing. My only real negative with Hubspot is continuing monetization of the tool add-ons for customers like me who are already paying a significant amount for the product.

When using Hubspot its sort of like stumbling into everything you need in a marketing software.

Pros: With a range of services provided by one marketing software, it is hard to know where to begin. In my honest opinion the most applicable and useful feature is the online web analytics. When compared to the same service provided by Google, they are on the same level. Hubspot simply provides real time analytics based on online browsing, and content realization. The analytical reports can be customized and this would work incredibly in various business aspects.

Cons: With this software, marketing is at the edge of the finger tips, but there is a downfall to this as a user the filtering is a bit of an issue when trying to sort through the information. If this can be improved on then they will have a software which is rival to any other currently on the market.

Comments: HubSpot is the first tool I pull up everyday--it's my all-in-one marketing and now CRM tool, and I'm continually impressed. We use HubSpot for content marketing, email, CRM, social media monitoring, SEO management, blog and much, much more...even hosting one of our websites on the HubSpot COS. I don't know code, but my designers do; they love that they can edit the code when necessary and I love that we don't usually have to in order to create something amazing. The interface is lovely and user-friendly, and the support team is always attentive and proactive.

Pros: It's a one-stop-shop that's always adding new offerings...and if you must use other tools, most likely HubSpot already integrates with it or can be easily integrated at no cost. We have used the Marketing tools for years and only recently took advantage of the Sales and CRM options...at no additional cost. Our executives couldn't believe that what we were showing them was available to us basically for "free!"

Cons: I hate to say anything's lacking, but I do hope that the social media tools become more of a focus in the future. I loved HootSuite's features and interface and would love to have that functionality in HubSpot.

Recommendations to other buyers: This may not be a great solution for a HUGE company with hundreds of marketers, but small to midsize businesses won't find a better solution. It's scalable, flexible, customizable, and incredibly intuitive.

Pros: The features of this program is incredibly vast and can make your workflow process efficient. They have clients they can refer you to in order to help build out your aesthetics.

Cons: When you have a powerful tool without a strategy, you end up with a fancy car you can't drive. Unless you have extensive knowledge about marketing and a bit of coding, it may be hard to get started. Also, unless you have a hefty marketing budget and the skills to utilize this program exclusively, it may be an expensive shiny toy that may or may not integrate with your core system. There were a few key pieces that would have been useful to use, but the integration with our program didn't end up working and we grossly underutilized the system.

Overall: A limited workflow automation. Excellent reporting.

Pros: It allows you to do what you need to do with a marketing automation software. Fairly easy to use and pretty intuitive if you are an experienced marketing automation user. HTML features are more robust than they used to be and I like the fact that you can manage your entire account from marketing & sales to accounting & billing online.

Cons: I hate that if you use it as a marketing platform you get charged for every contact in the CRM. There is no way to separate the two platforms, therefore there is no "master." Not being able to get a dedicated support person to help you with issues is troublesome as well unless you pay for it, and it's not cheap. I constantly feel like I am being nickeled and dimed to death.

Overall: it does what you need as far as marketing automation

Beware of the hard sell. They use lock in contracts to keep you paying even when the system is clearly not working for you.

Comments: Hubspot is way over priced and the complexity of the system makes it hard to fully understand what you are buying into until you are bound by a lock-in contract. My advice is to thoroughly do your research as there are much much better and more economical solutions out there. Do not believe the hype from the sales team.

Pros: The CRM is free, but the rest of the system is overpriced and a waste of money. The tool is much more of a marketing course than it is a useful tool and you can get this information easily online without paying every year. Do not believe the hype! The marketing course info is also very shallow and way to sales-y for most businesses.

Cons: The system has lock in contracts that are there to force you into paying and selling to the system to your customers and for me, I liked my customers' way too much to force them into lock in contracts. Lock in contracts are only used when companies struggle to demonstrate value over the long term. The system did not work for us as it was way to salse-y for our clients base and despite numerous attempts to communicate with Hubspot about this they just shut it down.

Pros: Ease of use in doing all things marketing, from tracking clients to managing email campaigns to blog management.

Cons: Formatting issues with the text editors for pages and emails; certain numbers reported for things like webpage visits are different depending where it's reported.

Overall: We use HubSpot for our email and inbound marketing. It makes designing pages, tracking clients, creating workflows, running marketing campaigns, administering a blog, and sending emails a cinch. Two chief complaints: (1) its text editing features are subpar, sometimes exhibiting strange behavior with font sizes and spacing, which makes things difficult to format things consistently, and (2) some of the data reported (e.g., webpage visits) provides different values in different places, so we're not sure which numbers to believe.

Overall, we're happy with HubSpot, and would recommend it to other small businesses.

Pros: They continually add value to their product. Support is beyond great. It keeps getting better every day. It does more than they say it will. Always 100% responsive and if they cannot do something they tell you why.

My experience is Hubspot has never been down. Somehow it is always up and running.

I do not believe anyone can outgrow it. It is just that good!

Cons: They make a lot of improvements which can be a bit tough for an accountant like me to keep up with. We have an in-house webmaster and she loves it!

Since she works with it regularly the improvements are easy for her and she helps me stay up to date on it.

Overall: It is great for people without a lot of skill in developing a website and even better if you do have web skills. The CRM is amazing!

Pros: Shows all activities of your database of contacts so you know what is working, and what is not.
Ties your CRM and marketing automation together seamlessly.
Allows you to test content, whether its an email or a landing page

Cons: I'd like to see a tighter integration between a HubSpot contact and a HubSpot company, it's difficult to track some items since they are considered separate.
Separate the time and date in the data exports
I'd like the social reporting to be better. It should be able to tell me when to post social media updates based on all the data I've given this program.

Overall: We're using HubSpot across the whole organization starting with email marketing, advanced content offers, paid ads, social media distribution, and CRM.

Recommendations to other buyers: It's not going to be a great fit for a one-man shop or a HUGE business.

Pros: Continuous product updates
Tons of education and support
Too many features to count: segmentation, true A/B testing, reports, on and on

Cons:
While there are a lot of features, it is still missing a few I would like (timeline activity as a field)
Still a lot of bugs throughout the system (random site-wide stats errors, contacts server downtime)

Overall: We primarily use HubSpot within the marketing department. Although some sales persons use it as needed. It's used for marketing automation, website and email data analysis, social media, and data reporting. It's very helpful and allows us to do the job of a large marketing team, with just a few people. HubSpot is great for medium-sized businesses. It may be overkill for smaller businesses that don't do a ton of daily marketing tasks. But it's scalable and has different tiers for different business applications.

Overall: When I say small marketing teams, I really mean it. I am a one-person marketing team at my company, and HubSpot allows me to take care of the majority of my digital marketing needs in one place. I'm able to track inbound leads from website visits on the marketing side to sales correspondences on the CRM side. I have a technology background and previous experience with CRMs and CMSs, so I had a great experience onboarding. For someone who doesn't have the background, their onboarding can be a little rushed and incomplete, but there are a TON of resources available to help you with anything you need. If I ever do run into a problem or have a question on how to do something, their support staff is super responsive and friendly; my problem is always resolved. It is expensive, but we more than make up for the cost in inbound sales.

Overall: I've been using HubSpot for 2 years now and it is by far the best marketing and sales software on the market. If you are looking to bring all your tools into one place then HubSpot is the one for you. Once all set up there is very little need for technical users to build out pages, emails, etc. The HubSpot tools are put together so that you can deliver the best inbound marketing campaign possible and have everything you need for success. With it's closed loop reporting you're able to track all your marketing efforts and see actually ROI on each piece of content you're creating whether thats a simple tweet, blog post, content offer, etc.

Also, alongside the software itself, the HubSpot team provide world class support so if you do become stuck they'll help you out no matter what.

I'd strongly recommend this to anyone considering it!

Recommendations to other buyers: The price may look expensive at first but just think about all the other tools you may be paying for. This is a one tool for many tools. You'll save money and time in the long run!

It is nice to know whether the person to whom you have send mail has read it or not.

Pros: No Coding required: They have all the tools at the same place this makes it easy to use. Even the person who doesn't have knowledge of coding can use it. This is user-friendly due to its social media-like interface

Official Blog: They have an official blog on which they have explained how to use. Any beginner can learn from there.

Free Trail: Unlike their competitors, they provide a one-week free trial.

Cons: Annual Billing: They charge contracts annually. It is difficult for a small enterprise to pay annually.

Premium Technical Support: If you need ongoing technical support then you have to pay for it.

I would say that it would be best to be able to pin any task to the top of the page instead of only making it notes that can be pinned

Overall: I feel that our goals as a team are being met a lot more quickly because of HubSpot. We are able to track what we are doing and keep each other informed with how detailed the history is on our customers.

Just because of Hubspot it is easy to create accounts of customers, and directly communicating them through phone and email.

Hello Siddhant! Thank you for taking the time to write this review - it's great to hear you've gotten such great use out of the product! I'm glad to hear that you have found the software so user friendly and easy to use! Do you find that you refer to the blog a lot when you have questions about the product? As far as room for improvement - I would love to hear more about the various issues you have encountered. When you refer to 'Premium Technical Support' do you mean Web/Phone support that requires a paid product or the Designated Support we offer for an added price? If you are open to continuing the conversation we would love to hear from you at the email address provided. Thank you again for the review!

Pros: Once mastered the software can measure everything from CTA, Sales, Blogs all your inbound marketing needs it is exceptional and fairly intuitive to learn. I was blown away with how powerful a tool it is.
Creating templates for CTA and customizing is easy. I like being able to quickly create and clone a template to use for multiple purposes.
The support members are the most knowledgeable. They will step you through your issue, and make recommendations to what else to further learn.
I am impressed at how the support team wants you to learn and leverage all the features of the Hubspot software.

Cons: There is a lot to learn.
I am fairly skilled in tech and take to learning new software, but there is just so much. I had to call in many times to get assistance. They have a comprehensive online university as well. But it is not the same as implementing a work project.
It takes time, but practice and using support and the online tools will help mastery.

Overall: Our entire inbound marketing efforts and so much more.

Pros: It consolidates marketing + sales efforts and everything in between whether we are talking content, templates, landing pages, email workflows, lead lists, forms, social media management, etc. Their support team does a great job. Hubspot marketing is overpriced but they do a good job of compensating by offering a startup discount for an initial term.

Cons: I think the app could be simplified even further and it lacks a few major value features like A/B testing within campaigns/workflows. There's a decent learning curve & without adequate training, you could find yourself redoing initial setups by missing a few critical elements (companies vs contact properties, smart lists, connecting the website + domain, etc).

Overall: Automation across the board. This helped me significantly with email marketing and associated materials like landing pages, forms (lead conversion), complementing sales processes, etc.

Pros: The pros of HubSpot marketing automation are managing all campaigns to consolidate and oversee everything inside the module. For many years, I had to manage our marketing using different tools. At first it's manageable but as you begin adding more marketing tools it becomes a nightmare. Hubspot tethers everything into one account.

Cons: No cons to report at this time. Perhaps some users struggle getting their marketing campaigns into Hubspot. But they have excellent help documentation which walks you through the process step-by-step.

Overall: This software is like having a marketing team working 24/7. In this digital age, having one centralized system like Hubspot to manage all of our campaigns is exactly what we were looking for to streamline our work.

Pros: Marketing automation solution is built for startups and is exhaustive enough. It covers just about everything that is needed to set up marketing automation for B2B SaaS. Right from the ability to create workflows, set up campaigns, tracking goals and conversions to the ability to creating and tweaking email templates or new tools like Content Strategy - Hubspot's marketing automation product is a top notch product and a must use tool for marketing teams - right from day 0.

Cons: Our experience with the support teams at Hubspot has been limiting and something I believe can be definitely improved upon.

- Align our SEO efforts and scale our inbound efforts
- Ensure that social activity was in line with our inbound and overall content strategy-
- Nurture inbound leads using sophisticated workflows over a period of time

Cons: -User interface it's pretty bad if you put them next to other on the market -The fact that you are not able have a "program/campaign" in one spot and you have to move from tab to tab it's really dumb, it feels a waste of time -The lack of real "Multidomain" function (they would try to sell you one instance for each one of your domains) -The slow Customer Support, it's good but it takes forever for them to reply

Pros: There are many tools available within Hubspot but some of the best features are reserved for their top packages, which come at a very, very high price point. If you're looking for a comprehensive marketing and sales tool built into one solution then Hubspot is a great choice; hosting and managing your website and/ or blog; empowering your sales team with automated lead processing; providing the marketing team with collaboration, content creation and distribution tools. They've clearly been working hard to build out their suite to fill in previously existing gaps in their product and redesign it to be more in-line with the impressive competitor products on the market.

Cons: It's expensive. Very expensive. If you want the majority of the tools I've mentioned in the 'pros' section then you're looking at quite a few thousand dollars per month, and that's after a five-figure setup fee. The other issue is that a number of their features are only available if you take advantage of the full product, i.e. host your website via Hubspot or, at the very least, host your blog via Hubspot. Many of the benefits of using Hubspot (and any all-in-one solution like it) are only realised if you really do use it at the core of your businesses marketing and sales endeavours, which can be hard to implement, onboard the whole team and get live.

Pros: - Easily automate marketing efforts with workflows and smart lists
- Great way to hold your marketing database and get messages sent out in mass or in highly targeted campaigns based on specific criteria
- Customer Support replies quickly and usually with a solution. If they don't have an immediate solution they will follow up within a couple days with a solution

Cons: - The workflow tool is a bit cumbersome and will not allow you to bring branches back to the main "tree" of the workflow. Because of this the workflows either become MASSIVE trees with duplicated steps or you end up fragmenting your customer journey throughout many workflows which becomes unmanageable quickly.

Pros: Hubspot allows us to create custom workflows for our leads and customers. We can automate emails, text messages, create forms to capture data, and schedule content to be posted to our social media channels.

Cons: Hubspot has a pretty steep learning curve if you want to take advantage of all of its features. They also tend to update frequently and change their navigation around, making it hard to find features you use frequently.

Overall: At my earlier organization, we had migrated from Pardot to HubSpot in 2013, and since then we have seen great transformation in terms of quality of marketing leads.

The tool is really easy to use and has tons of nice features. Dashboards are insightful. As we talk, we use Hubspot for forms, landing pages, social media posting, email campaigns and keyword tracking.

Everybody says content is the king, and Hubspot is the ideal tool to do content marketing.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you are just looking for a tool to do basic marketing stuff like email marketing, don't go for this. You can use cheaper alternatives like mailchimp etc. If you want to run integrated marketing campaigns, this is the best tool compared to Pardot and Marketo.

Pros: I use Hubspot Marketing Free formerly called leadin on a personal blog. Initially, I had installed the leadin WordPress plugin to use as an opt-in form especially the slide-in box and the drop-down banner. I "deactivated" the forms because I didn't like the "not using lead-in yet, signup now" that showed underneath my form, it's kind of like powered by Hubspot, either way, it took visitors away from my blog something I wasn't very happy with. However Lead-in has a really amazing feature, It tracks all non-HubSpot form submissions. I have Gravity forms on my blog and Ninja form on one of the websites I manage.
Hubspot marketing (Leadin) tracks all form submissions so I know what pages they visited prior to filling the form, I know how they got to my blog, what pages they landed on first etc. even better the entry is automatically sent to Hubspot CRM as a contact.

Hubspot Marketing has just introduced Facebook and Instagram Ads that open into a form, I'm yet to try them but it sounds interesting.

Cons: Data from non HubSpot form submissions is only available for 15 days. That's frustrating. the contacts would still be in the CRM but information such as what form they filled, what pages they visited etc, disappears.

Overall: It helped track visitors on my website and their activity before they filled a form on my blog.

Comments: HubSpot is something that I use on a daily basis for email marketing, social media marketing, Inbound marketing, maintaining our contact lists, designing and publishing landing pages, etc. Since we have transitioned to HubSpot I have not had to use any other software to get what we need.

Pros: HubSpot allows us to have everything we need for our marketing department all in one spot. It syncs well with Salesforce, which is what our sales department has been using.

Cons: I really do not have any Cons, as HubSpot is pretty much exactly what we need and is a good fit for our company. However, that might not be the case for every company or sales & marketing department. It can be pricey and if you are not using all of the tools it might not be the best option for you.

Recommendations to other buyers: I would recommend speaking with someone at HubSpot and seeing if you can get a current HubSpot customer that is similar to your company on a phone call to see if it is a fit for you. We had been using a different software for a year and realized it was not meeting our needs. We created a list of needs and set out to "interview" different platforms and knew HubSpot would be a great fit for us.

Pros: Intuitive UI, flexible feature set and powerful admin control make using Hubspot effectively an easy task. Hubspot seamlessly integrates with all our email platforms, CM and other business solutions. We have also found it easy to work with HubSpot support to train our teams and even integration campaign tracking functions into our website and gamification solutions.

Cons: Working with HubSpot support is hit or miss. Sometimes great, other times quite poor. HubSpot is also a bit clunky to operate across multiple admin functions. It ended up being easier to hire a Marketing resource to own the Hubspot admin role (among other tasks) and simply leave it with one owner.

Cons: Experience. Need to be an advanced user for more of the difficult tasks, for example it is hard to make the landing pages look great.

Pros: - You get what you pay for. HubSpot beats all others, hands down
- If you get the enterprise features, you are building in event triggers and more that can help you scale the platform quite well
- Really easy to use, and functional
- Amazing support

Cons: - Expensive and difficult to break down / move in and out of contracts or tiers as needed
- Expensive onboarding, and hard to waive
- Can be daunting to setup initially to justify the ROI
- Really difficult offboard. The CTAs, buttons, links, reports, etc. become deeply embedded in your sales system and process. Will be near impossible to leave without major hiccups.

Overall: Greatest marketing tool for any marketer on the web. Period.

Pros: I really do enjoy using Hubspot. It's a massive product, yet it still manages to stay user-friendly. It makes my life as a marketer easy as everything is in one spot. I don't need multiple subscriptions. I also love Hubspot's Inbound event - it's a must-go conference for anyone in sales and marketing.

Cons: I do wish the onboarding into HubSpot was more hands on. When we signed up over a year ago I found the process kind of fragmented. I had different points of contact and not one sole person who sought to understand my needs and my skill level. It was more of a product tour than actual helpful onboarding. It took us some time to be fully on Hubspot for that reason.
