Once configured, it has delivered consistent backups without issues, and the combination of scheduling, versioning and notifications makes it feel like excellent value for the price. Pros Easy to set and forget, with a very clear user interface that makes it simple to see what is being backed up and when. Once the initial backup is finished it quietly runs in the background without hogging resources, and email notifications give peace of mind that everything is being protected properly. Cons The main frustration is that Google Photos cannot be backed up directly, so the photos need to be downloaded to the PC first and then included in the backup set. This extra manual step makes the process a bit clunky, especially when managing a large photo library, even though the rest of the backup works smoothly and reliably. But, at the same time the pricing is good Pros It has a great backup system, the files can be organized in various ways. Also, I can sync in different devices. The UI looks clean. Most important is that It is very affordable. Cons The sync takes time, also the backup has some issues such as showing deleted files in other devices although it is not accessible. I have been double-charged—once for my agreed monthly service and again for a full year without my consent. This is predatory and unethical. I am currently evaluating legal options to recover the unauthorized funds and will never use this service again. I strongly advise others to monitor their bank statements closely if they use this company. Pros The initial setup was straightforward and the interface is relatively easy to navigate for basic backups. However, any positive experience has been completely overshadowed by their current billing practices. Cons The lack of transparency regarding billing and plan changes is unacceptable. I was successfully billed my monthly rate of $11.84 on March 26, 2026, only to have an unauthorized charge of $118.41 taken from my bank the very next day for a 'Yearly' plan I never requested. Additionally, the cancellation process includes 'scare tactics,' claiming files will be 'permanently deleted' immediately upon ending auto-renewal. Their official 'Transaction Summary' doesn't even account for the large sum they actually withdrew from my bank, which is a massive discrepancy. Review Source Darren L. Switched from a competitor and very worth while. Pros Vast array of features, great configuration options, excellent value for money. Cons The archiving feature is great, but I had a suggestion for how it could be improved to better manage/report on what files are archived and which aren't. It's not available today, but I contacted their support who very responsive and logged a feature request for it. I have had no problems running it on Windows 7 64bit, setup quick and simple, off we go ! Whereas Dropbox and OneDrive are a huge pain getting them to function on older 64bit windows. Pros Very easy to use. Works well with older 64 bit windows, easy to set up, intuitive interface, also integrates with Android well. Certainly works better than MS OneDrive for me, much much better. The iDrive interface won't win awards for innovative design, but it is clear, simple and effective. The controls also make it easy to monitor the size of your backup so that you don't accidentally get a pesky overcharge. Pros iDrive is, hands down, the simplest and most cost-effective backup solution I've tried to date. Installation and configuration and straight forward -- as is pricing. Cons The only downside is that I can't get away with backing up my NAS on a my single computer account. I have a lot invested over the years in photography that is irreplaceable, so I finally got off my butt and researched cloud backup alternatives. IDrive is at the top of the list, and I especially appreciated the Express Upload option. I opted to use that for my large drive. I received the hard drive in the mail a few days later, made the backup and sent it back. Within less than a week, it was all uploaded and ready for incremental backups. Could not have been easier. Pros Ease of getting the software set up and making initial backups. Much cheaper than paying for equivalent Adobe Lightroom/Photoshop storage space plus it provides a true backup, not just a mirrored drive in the cloud. Cons I have not run into any problems so far. It tends to be more expensive compared to other solutions but restoring data is a smooth process with a solid file manager. Pros I like the fact I can backup virtual machines, NAS drives and endpoints. It provides another method of redundancy for backups. It is cloud based and easy to install and setup. Cons Backup uploads tend to be quite slow and use a lot of system resources. There have been times where scheduled backups have failed. The software does seem to use a lot of resources. With so many cloud services offering slightly different things and using the same terms ("Backup" "cloud storage" "collaboration," etc.) I found it difficult to compare apples to apples or even to determine whether what was on offer was actually apples in the first place.
