We especially appreciate the event creation feature for making RSVP pages for our community events. Though many of these events are free for community members, we've noticed that the platform enables participants to make small contributions when submitting their RSVPs. January 31, 2025 5.0 Pros Coming from Salesforce, Givebutter is powerful due to its simplicity. It can do everything we need it to do without making you feel like you need a data engineering degree and ten years of experience. Cons I'm not the biggest fan of how they've worded their solicitation messages for our donors. They ask donors to help take on the cost of running the platform, but they call it a "tip," which is distasteful and dishonest. If I were them, I would just be upfront and call it a fee. Tip suggests that a human helped serve them, and carries a bit of guilt with it. GiveButter is great for organizations that are running individual giving campaigns, peer to peer fundraising etc.. but not the type of platform I would use for Corporate giving, Planned Giving, or Live Auctions. Pros I like the ease of donations and the ability to ask the donor to cover the fees. Cons I think that the campaign and event set up could be simplified. Many organizations collect general donations perpetually. They also host periodic events that may or may not require a ticketed entry. It’s hard for family members to know whether to donate to an individual donor link VS an event that they won’t attend. I love that the customer suggestion forums are very active and I'm overall very happy with how the product works. Pros I love the ease of use and how detailed the customer information page is. Our organization has always struggled with maintaining donor data but now, with one central location and an easy-to-read interface, it's easy to keep things up to date. Cons One feature that I was really excited about when I signed up (reports) turned out to be a Pro feature, which wasn't super clear in the signup process. That's been frustrating as I still need to use my old donor management spreadsheets from time to time, rather than being able to centralize everything. December 1, 2024 5.0 Givebutter was simple on the backend and allowed us to have as painless of an experience fundraising as possible. I liked the ease of being able to just input our tax information and we are ready to go, presto! It was cool to see all the comments coming in as we raised money. Pros We chose givebutter for several reasons but one of my favorite things is that we could see how much each team member was achieving with donations. Since we were two relay teams, the competition was fierce and givebutter helped us stay motivated and interested in fundraising! Cons Who likes fees? I also wish it were easier to integrate with other social media, like Instagram and Facebook. We just used a link but if there was a button or something that made it "intuitive" to share, that would be great! Without that kind of integration, it makes it hard for the campaign to spread like wildfire. I was a bit nervous taking on a brand new platform at a time when there was very little room for error. I was able to teach myself most everything and then the support chat feature was a life saver for getting me over the finish line. I'm very grateful for this platform and can't wait to grow with it this year!
