My experience with this platform has been amazing from start to finish. Setting everything up was super smooth and easy, and since going live, everything has continued to run without a hitch. The company really listens to its customers, constantly rolling out updates and improvements that directly address our needs. Any features I’ve requested are either already in the works or being seriously considered, which shows how much they value user feedback. One thing I love about this platform is its versatility. I run two different beauty businesses, and I can manage both effortlessly on the same system. It's flexible enough to handle any type of business, which makes it a great option for anyone in the industry. I honestly can’t think of any downsides. Any small improvements I’ve suggested are either already in development or being worked on, so nothing stands out as a major issue. The support team—whether it’s my CSM, tech support, or even the awesome Facebook group—has been fantastic. This software has exceeded my expectations in every way. It’s been the perfect EMR solution for my businesses, and I’m excited to keep using it and see how it grows with all the updates they’ve got planned!

Pros

I’m absolutely thrilled with this EMR software! From the very beginning, the setup process was a breeze. Now that I'm using it daily, everything runs like clockwork, and it’s comforting to know I can always rely on my Customer Success Manager, tech support, or even the wonderful Facebook community for any help I might need. What I really appreciate is how much the company listens to its users. The regular updates show they truly care about making the software better for us. They’re always evolving and adapting it to suit different business needs. I run two different beauty businesses, and being able to manage both effortlessly on one platform has been a total game-changer. This software is incredibly versatile—it works for all kinds of businesses and stands out because it can adapt to each one’s specific needs. I couldn’t have asked for a better EMR. It’s exceeded my expectations in every way!

Cons

I genuinely don’t have any cons with the platform. Any features I’ve suggested or would like to see are either already in development or being seriously considered for future updates, which speaks volumes about how responsive and attentive the company is to user feedback. They truly listen to what their customers need and consistently work to improve the experience. The platform already delivers everything I need, and I know that it will only get better with the upcoming updates. My experience has been overwhelmingly positive, and at this point, nothing stands out as a downside. It's refreshing to know that even if I have any future requests or ideas, they are likely to be addressed in due time.

Reason for choosing Meevo

The main reason I chose Meevo was its affordability. While Meevo and Mangomint offer similar features and have exciting updates in the pipeline, I ultimately went with Meevo because it fits my budget as a new business and solo owner. I do appreciate Mangomint's cleaner design and a few extra features I wish Meevo had, but at over $400 per month, it simply wasn’t feasible for me right now. Meevo gives me everything I need at a price I can manage without compromising the essential tools to run my business effectively.

I have worked with Hairmax, Booker and Vagaro, and Meevo is by far the least user friendly and messiest looking program.

Pros

It is easy to log in , cancel an appointment and some of the reports are good. The smart screen is helpful allowing easy access to the different screens.

Cons

Not user friendly; graphics are terrible colors and hard to read; unnecessary amount of clicks to do anything; should have a thin time line going across the active appts instead of thick green line at ends; no ability to set up appts for multiple days for a client with one transaction; it would be helpful to have a window pop up when booking or canceling an appt to tell you what future appts client has. I could go on and on. No ability to chat back and forth with a client.

Overall the experience was just alright. Simple to use, would be helpful growing your business. But the cost kept me away.

Pros

Online booking and appointment management features were easy to use. Meevo had a lot of other good features including the membership program.

Cons

I do believe the value for the cost was too high. There are similar programs at a much lower cost. Customer support can be hard to get ahold of.

We converted to Meevo in November 2022, over a very shortened installation timeframe. The support staff was amazing, helpful and worked hard to meet our short timeframe. Meevo is forthcoming about updates, and typically meets our needs.

Pros

Meevo is easy to use, very intuitive, and has great customer service. The training modules are helpful when we onboard new employees. Schedule is simple to navigate and understand. The ability to set up different security options for a variety of employees is unique and helps us to allow everyone to have access to only the information that is needed to do their jobs. The integration to MeevoPay was easy and seamless.

Cons

Although there are many, many reports to use, I find that sometimes I have to run 2 or 3 and manually combine them to generate the information that I need. Also, limiting reports to a one year period of time, is a hinderance when trying to gather some valuable information. It would be great if my timeframe could be expanded beyond a 12 month period of time. Also, in security settings (which is a great feature), it is difficult to navigate, and sometimes doesn't work properly (ie, I hide a feature, but employees in that group do not have it hidden, as in hiding actual punch in / punch outs).

We upgraded to Booker V. 2 and it was a disaster! Unable to process credit cards, ring out clients, and it was constantly crashing. This was in late October, which begins our most important quarter. Meevo worked directly with us and made the migration happen in a very short timeframe! The support was outstanding.

The overall experience has been good. When I need to speak with a tech, they are very quick to respond with a solution to my issue.. The reports available are excellent and provide the details necessary to evaluate our business with accuracy.

Pros

MEEVO is user friendly and the scheduling software is far superior to what we transitioned from. The reports cover all aspects of the business.

Cons

Even though there are a few resources to reference, I don't always find it easy to find the specific answers I'm looking for. There are so many components to the software and I don't think the training was detailed enough to adequtely cover everything.

I love how many applications are available. Makes everything easy. I cannot think of anything that isn’t part of the system. It truly allows you to do so many different things, and is pretty user friendly.

Pros

Love their customer service!! I haven’t had an issue yet that they couldn’t help me through. It is fairly easy to find whatever you are looking for, and did I say I LOVE their customer support.

Cons

When toggling between windows, I get kicked off Meevo fast, and some of the help tips are a bit confusing.

Working with Meevo to set up our salon was a great experience and even though I had already been a Meevo user I learned a lot! I can't say enough nice things about the people who helped us. My staff is thrilled with the functionality of the service.

Pros

Meevo has the best customer service I have ever experienced and the level of customization that you can do is exceptional. The reports that you can run to keep track of what is going on in your business are wonderful and the experience on the client side is easy to use.

Cons

Meevo is not the least expensive option when it come to salon software. That doesn't bother me because of everything you get for the money.

So easy to learn and easy to use! Booking, Confirmations, Email Marketing, Texting, Online Booking-so easy!! Online Booking is better than ever with Meevo 2. Our guests love it! We love it because we can customize timing for each guest’s service. That means every guest is always booked correctly, even when they book themselves. Our entire Salon loves Meevo 2. It has been such a time saver and money saver for us. Because of Meevo 2, we have the time to do our best work and provide an exceptional salon experience. I highly recommend for Salons and Spas everywhere!

Cons

Since onboarding with Meevo 2 over 2 years ago, I have been through updates and improvments with them. They make updates and changes based on their clients feedback and it's been such a game changer. Their Tech Support Team is AMAZING!! I can live chat with them right in the software. They have helped me learn Meevo inside and out, in no time at all.

How easy it is to use the software. I like being able to customize things. But mostly the customer service is outstanding!

Cons

I honestly cant think of anything! The only I dont like, is when my receptionists dont use the corect client name and make a new one! But it is easy to fix, by using intelli merge or manual merge of duplicate clients.

\- The software is fully internet based and didn't require specific equipment. - It promised better features from a franchise point of view

Cons

\- We were one of the first companies on board and the regular updates and releases caused a lot of confusion and a lot of problems for us. The updates didn't come with details on what was changed or how. And if we had all our settings in place and those settings were involved in an update, everything was changed around (ie things that were "on" prior to the update, were turned "off" during the update). However we were never notified and had to find out what had changed when we ran into problems. This caused confusion not only for us, but for our franchisees and guests. - The reporting is flawed. We have spent hours upon hours on the phone with support, development, management, etc trying to help correct the reporting issues. To date we still don't have a sales or accounting report that we can rely on to provide accurate data. Everything requires a supporting report and/or manual calculations. - The support team is difficult to utilize as you aren't assigned a specific support contact therefore you're constantly explaining the same thing(s) over and over again when you call in to obtain a status, start a new support ticket, etc.

We've been with Meevo since January 2020 and it's predecessor, Millennium, since 2010 to run our multiple locations. Meevo makes it easy to transfer and redeem gift cards and packages across multiple salon locations and allows clients to be viewed and managed globally while maintaining appropriate flexibility at each location. We enjoy the enterprise level inventory and service management features and consolidated reporting. We can't imagine running our multiple locations without Meevo!

Pros

Meevo is powerful and easy to use. The interface is fast, intuitive, and works brilliantly on handhelds, tablets, and desktop. Reports and analytics are strong so we can keep tabs on our KPIs. Client settings are granular so which notifications clients receive via email and texting can be customized. The payroll and inventory modules are well developed and give us great flexibility in our employee compensation settings and Meevo even has custom reports to help California employers comply with labor laws unique to that state. Support is U.S. based and outstanding. Meevo really listens to their customers and rolls out updates on a very regular basis. While the software is already great, it gets even more powerful every couple of months. In fact some of the cons in my review below will probably be addressed within the next year. Security in Meevo is extremely granular, which we appreciate so staff members can be configured to only have access to areas of the system appropriate to their role. There are settings to completely hide menus and areas of the system that certain users don't need to see so their interface isn't cluttered with buttons they wouldn't be allowed to use. Meevo also supports a different (typically stricter) set of access limitations when staff are outside of the company's network. Lastly, Meevo makes it easy to multi-task with tabs for multiple parts of the system open at the same time and easy to move between. Meevo has built in a large number of keyboard shortcuts and has a "ConvoBar®" that allows users to type commands to quickly open specific screens or reports. We're starting to see the adoption of AI within recent Meevo updates and I'm sure this area of the system will become substantial over the coming few years.

Cons

Editing transactions in the past is extremely limited, which protects naive owners from breaking accounting rules, but prevents sophisticated owners from fixing mistakes in the past and instead having to create new transactions to reverse out the prior mistakes. I wish there was a super user setting that allowed more flexibility. We also find the double opt-in requirement for clients to receive transactional text messages to be far more strict than any other similar software we've seen. The Quickbooks integration does not handle multiple business locations syncing into a single Quickbooks file, which is limiting for multi-location businesses with a single set of integrated books. Great reports make it easy to settle the books via consolidated journal entries, but I look forward to true multi-location syncing with Quickbooks.

Pros

As previously mentioned, Meevo is such a user friendly application. When the days are busy and there's a lot going on- it's nice to have a system that works with you and helps make the day go a little smoother. We also REALLY appreciate the customer support when it's needed; Someone always answers the phone or will follow up with a call back.

Cons

This is such a minor thing, but we do wish there was a 'Last client used' option. This would be helpful for rebooking, printing reports, etc.

Benefits are online booking, storing credit cards with our cancellation policy and it’s keeping clients committed to there appointment or they cancel with advance notice. We love all the notifications clients get, the option to opt in or out of text messages.

Pros

The intricacy of options and ability to manipulate appointment timing and service, service providers, extensive options for a lot of different things. Also love the reports. I do deeply wish it will be made into an app and not a link. I believe the functionality of an app would be a lot faster and and stronger when using a phone.

Cons

It lacks a few functions. It’s compatible with iPad but can be very slow. Definitely works better on desktop however, our business does not utilize a receptionist and we like to keep everything mobile. When launching, you can upload a client list but only one time per-launch. When I opened I was alone for the first 3 months, when I onboarded my next two stylists I was not able to upload there client list. A feature other salon softwares at any time. So now we are not able to track who is new to the salon because all clients are being added as new. The features for classifying what type of client is also not broad. There is only “walk-in or request or redo”. There should be an option for “New” meaning new to the salon, not a walk in and there should also be “new request” these are all important categories to track where clients are coming from to make predictions. The biggest shortfall is when a client cancels online, it does not notify the salon. We have to visually be on top of checking for the square color. There are so many notification options there should definitely be an email notification at least to notify the salon or employee that was booked. Lastly, the client email list is only for the last 90 days. When downloading a client list, it would be great if we could have the whole history not 90 days. We have clients that don’t come in as frequently as 90 days and they will miss our emails.

They always search for the latest in business needs! I don't always know the latest in technology and what the consumer wants, because I am working 24/7. The team lets me know the latest and greatest that will build my business without adding more employees that I can't afford. They make it seem like I have a team working behind the scene! The amazing thing is that it is SO affordable!!!! I could not run and operate a small business to the level that I do without the Meevo System! No Way!! I am grateful every day that I was somehow lucky enough to have made the right decision to implement this system! Pros

meevo has made such a difference for us in our day to day as a medical spa. user friendly and has everything you need for inventory, pos, payments and refunds, texting and communicating with clients, sales goals, employee goals, memberships, analytic reports, finance, etc. literally everything under the sun

Cons

sometimes when meevo has an update it can tweak the system a little bit and cause a couple issues but meevo support is super quick and extremely professional and nice to work with

The reports are great and are so helpful when assisting with goal setting and budgeting.

Pros

I like that the system is customizable and easy to grasp. The onboarding can be daunting and it's helpful to get as much hands on practice time before launching. It's nice that the clients are able to book online at their convenience and that they are reminded of future upcoming appointments.

Cons

I did not have a great on-boarding experience. I think my person was new as they weren't able to answer a lot of my non-cookie cutter questions. I do think that being pared with a different specialist would have prevented that.

Our experience with Millennium and then evolving into MEEVO has been excellent!

Pros

The whole system is so user friendly and easy to train on . The tech support is amazing! The development team asks for and really listens to feedback and implements changes.

Cons

I can't think of anything specific, but the great thing is that the MEEVO team is so innovative, that they are constantly working on keeping it current and cutting edge!

We started with Millineum which was not web based, and that system was very good, but once they converted to a web based system, that blew it out of the park! Technicians can see their schedule while not in the salon, get notified of new appts or cancellation as they work, and the options are endless! Payroll, commission, formulas, notes, credit card processing are al so important in this industry.

Pros

There is nothing Meevo doesn't do. If an issue arises, their team is on it and accommodates the client.

Cons

if the internet is down (rarely) we go down

Great tool to have in a bust salon-for the most part user friendly. More importantly, customer service is GREAT! When I need help, they are there to assist in a professional polite manner.

Pros

Meevo is very easy to use for its appointment book and client data base. I is very easy to find information and pull from for marketing.

Cons

Reports can be a bit more user friendly-better explanations, easier to find.

Excellent product and we couldn't function as smoothly and organized without it.

Pros

We love Meevo because of the ease of use. I feel like the company is consistently finding new ways to make what is already a great software to use better. The ease of use for everyone from management to our employees makes it a really great product over all other softwares for our spa. There is so much within Meevo that you can do that it could be overwhelming for a new user, but with patience and time, a new user will find that it is a really beneficial software to use for everything from scheduling, inventory & overall spa management.

Cons

I feel like when we find things that limit us within the software, the company comes out with updates that remedy this. I love how the company is constantly listening to its users concerns and looking for new ways to improve.
