With Rippling, the majority of this process is now handled by one automated process called offboarding. Pros Rippling has done the most to save our time by creating an automatic hiring/offboarding process. Once a person is hired, they create all necessary paperwork (e.g. e-signatures), tax documents, etc. They have also made it possible to have all of the employee information in one place (payroll, HR, IT) rather than using multiple systems that did not interact. Cons For us, it's the price structure. Everywhere I've read says it costs $8/employee; however, this is based on Rippling doing only "HR" functions. If you add payroll, etc., the actual cost will show up after speaking with your sales representative. In addition, we were charged additional fees for implementing that were not clearly stated before hand. They consistently checked in, guided us through each step of the process, and made sure we had everything we needed to make the most of the system. Pros The Support Rep is literally the only reason that we continue to use this as she actually listens to me when something breaks as opposed to mimicking my frustrations. Doing Time cards is pretty straight forward. Glad it didn’t crash today because my laptop keyboard is sticky and I’m already at my limit with all of the clicking. Employees haven’t complained about using the App. Cons The System seems archaic. There are far too many reporting options being dumped on your lap. You cannot even look at a report until after you download the entire document which is extremely frustrating. There are service tabs on my Dashboard that we do not purchase. Pros What I like most about Rippling is their ease of use and it being a one-stop shop for everything needed for my company. It was a really smooth ride for onboarding and learning the org chart. I would also say how easy it is to gain visibility into your payroll and time off. I also like how they update you for prioritized tasks needed to be completed by a certain date. Cons The thing I like least about Rippling is that even though their notifications are really good, I don't like how when you complete a task, you still receive a notification that it needs to be completed. There was not a single aspect of this nearly month-long process that stood out as a positive experience whatsoever. Cons I explored Rippling as a potential payroll and HR solution for my small business. What followed was nearly a month-long process filled with consistent emails and multiple meetings, all building toward what I hoped would be a viable solution. After investing that significant amount of time, I was blindsided by a quote that came in well over $400 per month. This was never communicated upfront, and that lack of transparency is a serious problem. Had Rippling been upfront about their pricing from the start, I could have made an informed decision without going through a weeks-long evaluation process only to find out the cost was never going to be viable for my business. I would strongly caution other small business owners to push hard for transparent pricing before investing any time in their sales process. The fact that I have multiple applications in one makes everything a lot more convenient. With payroll as well, it is very efficient. I am able to see when I'm going to get paid, and the tracker is really helpful. So processing the payments on the pay dates is amazing for me. Having to reach out to the support team if there are any issues as well, I get timely responses from them, which is efficient, and as mentioned with the number of apps, I am able to effectively manage my time.
