Pros I like that it does not take long to set up an account and that it is free. You can easily ship a single product or multiple. The steps are easy to follow and there is no real work involved other than entering the necessary information. Cons I do not have anything negative to say about this product. You cannot do better than that. Pros I spent weeks trying to understand my options with USPS shipping so for a given shipment I could compare the USPS price with UPS to see which might be better. I have just about given up after studying the rules, regulations, restrictions, and pricing of USPS but ended up more confused that I started. If USPS tried to make it impossible to understand their shipping services, they could not have done a better job of making their shipping process unintellible even to the brightest person. UPS is easy to understand, but the rates can sometimes be onerous. What I discovered quickly by using Pirate Ship is that first, they untangle the confusing nonsense with USPS. Once you input the details of your shipping package, Pirate clearly gives you all the USPS shipping options, so you can choose from the options presented. Secondly, you're offered discounts on USPS and UPS retail pricing. I was pleasantly suprised at the price for UPS shipping. My first shipment, a 2 pound package traveling 1400 miles to Zone 6 saved me $3 over standard UPS shippping rates. Well, if you ship a lot, soon $3 per shipment can add up to REAL money!! As it turned out, UPS was only a few cents more expensive than USPS. Given the terrible delivery record of USPS, this was easy choice. I shipped UPS. But, without Pirate Ship, I could never have untangled the USPS options and would not had access to the UPS discount. I cannot say how pleased I am with Pirate Ship!! Try it! This is one of the easiest site to use to ship packages out. It is very helpful and useful. Pros Pirate ship is user-friendly, easy to use, and straightforward. Fill-in addresses when creating shipping labels. I like that the site offers different cheap alternatives of shipping. They also have an easy tracking system. September 23, 2022 5.0 Pirate Ship is my go-to for shipping! I can count on the best prices and see a full set of options for shipping my packages. Pros Signed up and started using right away! I love the prices and the ease of use. The next best feature is to be able to copy and paste a full address in a box and then the site separates the information into the correct boxes - a real time saver! The site never gets slow so entering the info, picking the shipping and then printing the label all goes very quickly. Cons The only thing I had trouble with was originally I couldn't find or understand cubic shipping. Now it is more streamlined and just shows up as an option if you pick shipping in a bag or box in a bag. Also, it easily integrates with online stores such as eBay and Amazon. It offers specific USPS shipping rates (cubic rate, for example) that other online shipping platforms don't. You can easily track your label purchases and orders, monitor tracking information status for the orders themselves. Also, it is nice to be able to pay for only the specific order you're placing itself, as opposed to have to add funds to a site balance (such as with ShipStation, for example) that you then spend on the shipping cost. Cons It allows for USPS shipping only, and does not support other carriers such as FedEx or UPS (not to mention other carriers such as DHL). Some shipping options (such as USPS Media Mail) are hidden away under difficult-to-find sub-menus, almost as if they don't want users to use these cheaper alternative options. While I do appreciate the fact that the interface is very simple and seemingly intuitive, although this can sometimes become frustrating when it tries to auto-fill the address information while I'm typing (often incorrectly), forcing me to re-type the whole thing. Saves me lots of money. Pros I found Pirate Ship a few months ago when someone recommended it in a forum. Since then I have used it many times to ship packages across the US. I like that I am able to enter in destination information and package dimensions and see the prices right away. Even when I have purchased the wrong labels on accident, Pirate Ship's support is always available via chat and ready to help. Cons I wish they offered other services besides USPS and UPS. Pros The best thing about Pirate Ship is the commercial pricing it offers. Pirate Ship saves me huge amounts of money, especially on international shipments. Moreover, it also makes it extremely easy to compare shipping options and pricing. Cons I have no problems with Pirate Ship as a platform. I suspect that, if I was shipping at higher volume, I might want more options for searching or organizing past shipments. However, for someone who only ships a few packages a week, it's unbeatable. As an artist who sells merch, this was frustrating. Pirate Ship has comparable rates which is awesome, and their interface is much easier to use. PLUS, I found out they have microshipping for Global shipping, where they can activate much lower rates for your international order. To my knowledge, they're the only free shipping site who can do this. Cons My only con is that the global shipping perk is something I had to figure out from a friend and message them about as it's not set by default nor is it easy to find information on. It saves money as you can get discounted rates and also serves as the customer database / tracking tool for your orders. It is a huge time saver and has made us much more efficient. Pros It is so easy to use and keeps track of customers, shipments & tracking numbers, and you can set up the account so that all payments for shipping happen real-time. You can run the program from any pc and the interface is easy to use. It is clean and fast and I've never had any issues using it. Cons It looks a little cartoon-ish so the visuals could be updated / modernized. It is purely visual and does not impact performance in any way and this is solely my opinion. Pros Free and cheap for 3oz first class shipping, which is 99% of my shipments. The paste feature for the shipping address is such a time saver. I have not found any other software that has that. Cons The only con, which has cost me money, is the thing I actually love the most about it - the paste feature. Sometimes it does not put the entire address into the label when I copy and paste. Because I ship so many items a day, I don't have time to check each address and label, so I have gotten several returns. " June 29, 2018 5.0 Etsy marketplace has changed their billing system to pay-as-you-go. I would rather prepay via Credit or Debit Card to earn rewards with my card. This was the impetus for finding PirateShip and it is suiting my needs very well on a daily basis. Pros \- It's FREE! - You get the same great postal discount the marketplace sites are hyping as their 'exclusive user rate' without being tied to their site's billing protocol. - It IS, however, integrated with the big marketplaces, so you can import your orders directly from them to PirateShip to use PirateShip's labels. - You get a dashboard on your home page that shows all your purchased labels, sorted by recency, and it includes the name, tracking number, delivery date and time. - Site supports many printers as well as older Zebra thermals, like the popular LP-2488-Z. - Customer support is fairly quick to respond via the Chat interface. (usually within 5 minutes). - You can prepay in an increment that YOU select (and there are number to pick from) , or pay as you go for each shipping label. And you can check your balance anytime in the Reports section. Cons \- Slight learning curve in how to use the site. I fumbled my first label by allowing PirateShip to use the specs that came from the Marketplace and the weight was incorrect. Now, I am more observant and watch the weight before I print the label. - If you choose to import the customer data from Etsy, PirateShip will automatically send the tracking number back into the Etsy transaction so you don't have to. This is great - except when you make an error on the shipping label and need to cancel the label and buy a 2nd one; there is no way (at this time) to delete the incorrect label information from the 1st label. The humor was that the package departure location was labeled, "Point A" ; the destination was "Point B" The visible map was easy to copy-paste into social media for the family to watch as well. I also enjoyed the ship mate jargon, "Ahoy, Argh," etc. The day can go a little brighter with humor. Cons There is nothing to complain about. The rates on PirateShip are typically cheaper than eBay TopRated Seller discounts and of course cheaper than going to the post office or USPS.com. Pros The site is very easy to use. It works great with my Rollo Printer and my Dymo XL printer. I use for eBay, Etsy my online store and to quote shipping costs overseas. For eBay, it syncs all the packages I need to ship out, displays my "custom label" where I place my item locations and lets eBay know the package is on its way. I think there are more USPS shipping options on PirateShip than on eBay. 80-90% of the time I find PirateShip is cheaper than Ebays discounted rates. Especially for overseas orders. Pros Its so easy to use and it helps our business save so much money Cons The estimates have been wrong a few times and then I get charged later and wasn't aware it was coming out of my account for the difference because I didn't know it was wrong until the amount came out. It would have just been nice to have a notice that the amount was wrong and the difference would be coming out of my account so I could have made sure it was available.
