November 21, 2018 5.0 My experience has exceeded my expectations and forced me to walk in the USPS with my head held high, skip the line, drop off my package, like I’ve been doing it my whole life. I’ve only been doing it for 2 weeks lol Pros It’s so easy caveman cou-, you get where I’m going with this. It’s so easy and so detailed. My first ever printing and shipping labels from home. The hardest part you might ask? Which scale I wanted to buy from amazon. Other than that, I’ve mailed off 1k worth of merch with no issues ever. I can see a detailed list of shipments and export the documents for filing purposes. They allow you to create email templates to send with all the provided information such as delivery addresss, tracking number, custom message in email, etc. I love it!!!! Proud to be a first mate. (Had to thrown in a pun lol) Seriosuly love these guys and I couldn’t see myself using anything else. Cons Listen. I need you to listen. You ready? Not a d\*%# thing. Super easy to use, highly recommended! Pros Pirate Ship is a great tool for sellers that are small to big alike. If you go to the post office you will likely be charged more since you don't ship enough for USPS to give you volume discounts. Pirate Ship gets the volume discount and the savings are passed into you. Further it integrates with some popular sites for easy label making. Cons It would be cool if they expanded to other shipping companies, but often I find that USPS still provides the best value so its not that big of a deal. Review Source EA Eran A. Pros Forget everything, forget the fluff, forget the prices, the ease of use, functionality and integrations, it plays a second fiddle to the fantastic branding and amazing customer service. We literally spread the response emails we receive from Pirate Ship across the company, the language is pure entertainment, these guys are cute pirates, and I wish there were more companies with pure, niche, cool, all-the-way branding like Pirate Ship. Cons Everything that is less than perfect goes pale when you hear from Pirate Ship's customer service. Reason for choosing Pirate Ship I signed up with a few services, and Pirate Ship was a solution that solved many of our issues from pricing to international shipments. May 18, 2021 5.0 My overall experience with pirate ship was simple, quick, and seamless! Pros Pirate ship makes my life so much easier when it comes to shipping. Before I was introduced to this software I dreaded going to the post office to ship orders. Once I got hip to this website my life got 10 tens time easier! I can do all the work from home and drop the packages off on my way out or send my husband to drop them off. It literally saves me hours of driving and going to the post office. Time is money and pirate ship helps me make more money! Cons I don’t have a con about this software honestly. If I had to choose I would say that I don’t like that there isn’t an app for this service. But I don’t mind going on the web to log in. It would be easier if there was an app but that is just a suggestion. You can’t beat the service they provide and it’s free of cost to users. You pay less than you would at the post office to ship. Support is super helpful and easy to work with. Cons There is an auto suggest for the address that is not able to be turned off. I accidentally shipped a package to the wrong address because of it. They also integrate with Etsy, which is super helpful to me. I also love their super nichy talk like they're pirates. It's hilarious. I don't always use PS, but recently, Etsy's shipping has had some glitches, so I've jumped over to PS, imported my orders into the platform, and shipped from there. And they automatically update Etsy letting my shop know the order has been fulfilled. Cons I don't see any cons to working with Pirate Ship. They have been a life saver to me on numerous occasions. I've had only a few questions because their documentation is outstanding, but when I needed an answer, I got one in MINUTES. I'm saving a BUNCH of money using Pirate Ship instead of Etsy shipping, both on the cost of shipping itself, and because Pirate Ship allows me to pay for shipping with my credit card where I earn cash back, something that Etsy no longer allows. (When you spend several thousand dollars a year on shipping, that adds up quickly - you can see a detailed analysis of my first month saving money with Pirate Ship here: https://tinyurl.com/y8v6c8xx/) I recently added two other sales channels - eBay and a Shopify website - and was anticipating difficulties with shipping orders from three sources, but Pirate Ship's integrations made it nearly seamless. Pros The ability to pull in orders from 3 different sales channels, the suggestions for what shipping method to use, reports that show which services I've used and which Postal Zones I'm shipping to the most, and the ability to "pay ahead" for shipping. Great documentation on all features, and so easy to get an answer to a question, either from their published documentation, or from online chat with staff. Cons It'd be great if all my pending shipments showed up on one sheet, and I could order multiple shipping labels from one page, but I'd be willing to bet they're working on that even as we speak. Not only is it free, I found it to be easier to use than USPS's own website. I was able to easily create labels for shipping via USPS, and it was cheaper than going directly through their website. Using Pirate Ship is a clear upgrade in every aspect compared to going through USPS. Cons I'd like to see Pirate Ship integrated with common websites for selling things, such as eBay and Depop. I also think Pirate Ships rates are the same as eBay's rates, so I often just go with eBay when selling on their site since it is more convenient. If Pirate Ship could offer rates lower than eBay, it would be much more convenient for me since I can do all my shipping on Pirate Ship. I like using this software because Pirate Ship has the best rates for Priority Mail postage. They calculate the postage rates based on cubic feet which ends up being significantly cheaper than any other postage software. Cons At this time, the competitive pricing offered by Pirate Ship is limited to USPS Priority Mail only. It would be great if they could offer discounted rates on First Class Mail as well. Being that the prices are equivalent to​ other platforms that I use, I haven't switched everything over to Pirate Ship yet. Pros I like that I can print my shipping label and and packing slip at the same time. The packing slip is also much nicer looking than the slip available via my website host. Cons For some reason, we cannot get pirate ship to add shipping weights to calculate packing weight and item weights. It requires to set up individual weights to choose from. Unfortunately with my products I cannot accurately set up common weight shipments. Reason for choosing Pirate Ship Pirate Ship was recommended to me. September 23, 2019 5.0 I don't think it's possible to be happier! Plus their customer service is outstanding! When I initially got started they sent out a "how's it going?" type email. I sent back that I was super happy with their product and service, and I even got a response back! No complaining or issues--just a "great job" type response from me, and I still got a response back from them! That's nice customer service. I will recommend Pirate Ship to every person I know who considers going to the post office! Pros It's super easy to use plus they have an intro video on how to get started! They give me the same deals that I get through Etsy shipping for my custom orders and make my shipping life so much easier. The only thing that could make life easier would be a label printer (versus manually cutting and taping paper to my packages) and they can print on that too! You can guess what I'll be shopping for on Black Friday... Cons I would like to be able to enter in multiple shipping labels and then purchase them all at the same time. I'm sure they can do this and I just haven't taken the time to figure out how yet. I came to Pirate Ship when I was in a serious time crunch and everything else was so easy I'm not going to worry about this. I see on the main screen that you can integrate with other sales programs (Etsy, Woocommerce, Shopify, etc) to pull order info, and also that you can upload your shipping orders via spreadsheet--I just haven't taken the time to learn how yet. The discounted labels are as low as possible so I know I'm gettng the best deal. Creating a shipment is easy and so is downloading the labels. There is also an extremely handy list of all your labels in case you accidentally close out of the window, or need to reprint a label.
